Are there regular house sitting opportunities?
Yes! We are constantly getting requests for house sitters from homeowners looking for sitters.

 ALL ADVERTISED SITS CAN BE ACCESSED VIA THE FRONT PAGE OF THIS WEB SITE AND ALL MEMBERS CAN CONTACT THE HOME OWNERS DIRECTLY FROM THERE.
    
These ads only represent sits where Home Owners have advertised that they need a House Sitter. We also get many sits, where due to security reasons the Home Owner does not wish to advertise. On these occasions we will send YOUR details to them and they will contact you.


When can I start looking for a house to sit?
As soon as we receive your registration form you will be sent a password to access the house sitting  ads on the front page of this web site. From here you can contact any of the Home Owners looking for a sitter and organise a sit.

Am I guaranteed a house sit?
No house sitting agency can give a 100% guarantee who will get which house sit, because ultimately it's the home owners that choose the sitters and not the agency.

However, being Australia's largest house sitting agency we have so many house sits to choose from, and are so confident  you will get one, that if in the unlikely event that after 12 months you don't get one, we will send you a petrol voucher or a MYER/ Grace Bros voucher to the value of $50.00 courtesy of Happy House Sitters. PLUS we will also give you an extra 3 months registration FREE. We are that confident you will get a house sit!

How long will it take to find me a house to sit and for how long is my listing 'live'?
Happy House Sitters cannot guarantee the period of time it will take to find a suitable house sit, however your password to search the for sits on the 'Members page' is valid  for 12 months and your application details will be forwarded to every listed homeowner in all of your nominated location zones for a period of 12 months.


Can I suspend my account?
Yes. Accounts can be suspended in situations like where you go overseas and can't use your membership. Accounts cannot be suspended while you are house sitting.


I want to register to house sit in ALL of Australia. Is there a special deal?
Yes. If you wish to register in ALL of Australia please phone us on
1300 780 809 and we will give you a SIGNIFICANTLY discounted rate.


Can I contact Home Owners directly or do I have to wait for them to contact me?
You can contact Home owners directly through our 'Members page'. This gives you a lot more control and means that you don't have to wait for them to contact you.

How long is the average house sit?
House sits can range between 2 weeks and 12 months, sometimes longer. However, most of our sits tend to be in the 4-6 months range.
 

When will my listing be sent to homeowners?
Every time we receive a request for a sitter in your chosen areas.
 

Does Happy House Sitters offer a student/seniors discount?
YES!!! If you mention where you saw our ad and supply your student ID. No. and name of institution!!! Please see application page for details.
 

How flexible do I need to be?
Be as flexible as possible. This increases your chances of getting a suitable sit sooner! House sitting requires flexibility but offers the opportunity to save huge amounts of money as you will be living RENT FREE! It costs about the same as one weeks rent to register for house sitting and live rent free

How do I change my details? Does it cost?
NO!!! You may change your details as often as you like free of charge. Just login to the Members Menu in the left hand margin of the home page or click here.
 

Rural House Sits                                                                      
We often gets sits in rural areas that we can't fill due to a lack of sitters wanting to sit in those areas. So if you feel like escaping the city life for a few months and enjoying the fresh air of the country then why not try a rural sit.   
                         

What type of person do most home owners look for?
The truth is, anyone can be a house sitter and anyone can be a home owner. There is no 'type'. Home owners just want someone they like and can trust. Just as you would.
 

How long is a house sit?
A house sit can be any length of time. However, we aim at sits no shorter than one month
