Anne

  • ACT, Sydney, North Coast, South Coast, Hobart, Rural/Regional Tas

I'm a Sydney-based self-employed artist, working in the contemporary forms of site-specific video, performance and installation. I sometimes work as artist-in-residence with remote and regional communities. I have a home-base in Lane Cove, Sydney, which I've sublet.

I've been a house-sitter since 2001, when I returned from 2 years living overseas on a post-grad scholarship. House-sits have come to me from all over Australia via friends, colleagues, word-of-mouth, and house-sitting agencies such as Happy Housesitters. It suits me well to house-sit as I travel extensively for my art practice. My tools of trade are video camera, laptop, sound equipment and projector, which means I travel light and don't need a studio or art materials.

For the past 3 years I've been exploring Tasmania via a mixture of WWOOF'ing, house-sitting, camping, bushwalking - climbing mountains and breathing deeply in old growth forests as much as possible. In between house-sits I spend time with friends and family in Sydney and all over Australia.

I'm single, no children, don't smoke, drink very little, have my own car. I love to grow and cook good food and am a dab hand in the kitchen, having spent a few years as a professional cook. I love to have the sky as my roof as much as possible - 'chop wood, carry water' has great appeal to me. I'm physically active with bushwalking, swimming, gardening, Pilates, Tai Chi, and I sing in a choir wherever possible.

I'm good with farm animals and wildlife and I'm happy to become a domestic animal's human for the time they're in my care. I'm clean and tidy and always leave house, animals and garden well tended. I can attend to incoming mail under your instructions, send scans of anything requiring your attention, and even run an in-house internet trading business if you happen to have one, as does a Hobart home owner for whom I've house-sat a number of times.

In other words, I'm energetic, versatile, adaptable and a reasonably quick study. I like long house/land sits. I'm keen to experience eco-sensitive, energy-sustainable homes and properties, to learn from them, to make a sweat contribution to them and to foster optimism about the future.

We are a busy young, non-smoking couple, hoping to secure a house-sit while our home is being renovated. We both work full time in the city and love to go for a daily walk when we get home. We enjoy keeping our home clean and would treat yours no differently. We love all animals and are looking forward to having the responsibility of caring for our own in the future. I am a home owner of a beautiful beachside house in Aspendale Victoria but I share the home with my daughter, her husband and their two teenaged boys. We also have a wonderful groodle (Poodle/ golden retriever cross) called Lola and we all adore her.
House sitting gives me a break away from the family for some space and peace without losing the opportunity to share our lives which I really enjoy. I love walking and need to do it to maintain my health, and I know how important it is to look after some-one else's home and their prized possessions. If the house-sitting required me to look after pets I am more than happy to do that. I love all pets, having had pets all my life, and know how to care for them or where to go if they need help.
I am a single Mother of 4 children, now all adults and the Grandmother to 4. I have been a school teacher and a Television producer but have been working as a family Counsellor for the past 5 years.I know I am trustworthy and professional in everything I do and as a person who is not easily phased, I adapt well to almost all situations.

We are on the road to retirement & looking forward to the next stage in our life, we are still doing some work via the internet & this means that we will be around for most of the time to care & watch over everything for you.

As well as travelling & having new experiences along the way, we have found that house sitting really suits us as it is so comforting to stay in a friendly home environment & if there are pets or animals to look after, then their company is an added bonus!

We love animals & wildlife & have had a long experience in caring for dogs, cats & farm animals. Unfortunately we no longer have our own pets, so we would welcome the opportunity to care for yours.

Over the years we have also had extensive experience in house & garden maintenance having renovated our own properties & also as sitters, we have cared for a number of different types of homes & properties ranging from large farms through to smaller homes & units.

We do understand that everyone's house & pets are different & we seriously take this on board & listen to each individuals requests & we will follow through with meeting your specific requirements while we stay & promise to keep you updated while you are away.

The opportunity to become your house sitter would be a great privilege & something we would not take for granted, as we both understand it is a necessity to respect your house & property & keep it well maintained while in residence.

We are both non smokers, healthy & happy people & look forward to hearing from you.

If required we can provide further reputable references & recommendation contacts.

Hope to hear from you !

Hi there,

My name is Mel and I'm currently available to house-sit your home and pets in the Melbourne area. I'm single, a non-smoker, very clean, neat and tidy (a benefit of being a Virgo!) and a huge animal lover. I grew up on our family hobby farm where our animals were spoilt rotten and were always the priority in our family home. I've had lots of experience with horses, and have grown up with chickens, cats, dogs and everything in between.

I'm currently starting my own vegan food business and spending my time between country NSW and Melbourne, conducting research and testing my recipes.

I would love to look after your pets and home! Please feel free to get in touch.

I am a single 61 year old, retired former public servant. I am financially secure, well educated and well travelled.
I try to run my life simple, peaceful and close to nature. I am a meditator and I practise yoga daily. I am fastidious and keep my surrounds uncluttered and extremely tidy. I clean the house I live in chemicals free as much as possible. I do nor smoke or drink, I do not gamble and I eat healthy and organic food.
I like gardening and growing my own vegetables. I find these activities very rewarding as well as therapeutic.
I like animals especially cats, which I find serene and independent and dogs for their fondness of humans. In my younger days I spent time on farms in Poland and enjoyed a lot of interaction with other domesticated animals.
I owned several houses in my life, the last one being in Suffolk Park, which I sold in 2015.
In my sits so far i have looked after the houses as well as vegetable gardens and dogs, cats, chicken, lorrikeets, cockatiels, goats, steer, sheep, horses, alpacas, fish turntle and a donkey.
I have enjoyed my house sits. I feel they work for both parties. It is a great way for me to see new parts of Australia and give the owners the freedom to travel. I am able to provide good references which will show that I maintain properties very well.

Kaz

  • Brisbane, South Eastern, Mackay & Whitsundays

Hi and thank you for viewing my profile. My name is Kaz and my little baby is Nessie, the Westie.

Both Nessie and I are very house proud, if you want me to house sit then Nessie comes with me too. I adore animals, talk to them as if they are humans, and will give them all the love and attention they need. Nessie isn't the jealous type, she is happy as long as I'm happy. She is great with kids and loves her fury friends, will always be intrigued and likes making new friends, just like her mum. She has already lived with other dogs and cats, she get on really well with them.

I don't smoke, never have, am fit and enjoy walks with the pups. I have done some house sitting here in Perth as well as Melbourne years and years ago. I have been running my own business here in Perth for the past 3 years, and am in the process of having my own on line business so I don't have to worry about where my next dollar is coming from.

If you would like to find out more about me and Nessie you can go to her facebook page, Nessie's Adventures. You will see how loved we both are, how trustworthy we are, and you will love us just as much too, and so will your fur babies.

I am hoping to get some long term house sits in Queensland so I can be closer to family.

Please drop me a line as I am open to where we may end up.

Hi pet lovers and lovely home owners,
We are a trustworthy, reliable, caring, friendly & house-proud small family **PLEASE READ BELOW RE FAMILY HOUSE-SITS IF YOU PREFER NO CHILDREN**.
We will treat your beloved pets & home like they are our own. We do not party, we like to house/pet sit and rest ...
We are non-smokers and only sit non-smoking homes for health reasons. We prefer secure homes as we need to feel safe and keep your beloved pets safe.
We adore animals & will treat them kindly & with respect. If they have special needs we understand that and can discuss your needs.
We have extensive experience caring for cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, chickens, chicks, some farm animals, birds, fish & gardens. We have many hours clocked up visiting our local reptile zoo, so are happy to consider reptiles (secured where necessary obviously! :-) ) and all other cuddly/crazy critters considered.
Unfortunately, we can't care for cats anymore (unless they are hairless) as Melissa developed an allergy to cat hair ! :-(
We have previous police checks, through careers & neighbourhood watch (Previous NHW Area Coordinators). We have previous & current security clearances through Federal & State govt agencies. Melissa has a current working with vulnerable people check (full background & police check).
References available and referees happy to speak with you :-)
**Although our children are respectful, love animals and have done many successful house-sits, we understand that some people prefer no children. One of us adults are also able to do occasional house-sits without the kids, so are available for house-sits which request no children.**
We hope to hear from you.
Warm regards,
Melissa & Andrew

  • Newcastle

Hi
I have recently been made redundant and am looking to relocate from Bathurst to the Newcastle area.

I would love to house sit for you as it would be a win win for us all.

I am clean and tidy and don't smoke and you can leave for your holiday comfortably knowing that your home and loved pets are in safe hands.

I have had dogs all my life until recently, and also one cat! I know the need for love, stimulation and exercise.

I am very capable and know the requirements of running a household.

In my younger days I have held various jobs including gardener, cleaner, housekeeper nanny, ironing lady, all of which I performed well and received positive referrals.

Whilst I have no prior formal experience through these forums I am confident I will be able to maintain your household during the period of your holiday, enabling you to enjoy your time away free from worry.

Please contact me to discuss any issues you may have.

Cheers

Sally

Norma

  • Canberra, NSW, Brisbane, South Eastern, Central Coast (Qld), Adelaide, Mid North, South, Spencer Gulf, TAS, VIC, Perth, Esperance

My name is Norma and I am a fit and healthy mature age lady from Victoria, mother of 2 grown children and grandmother to 3 little girls.
I grew up in the suburbs of Melbourne as a child but lived on 2 acres in the country as an adult. I am very happy with my own company and space
around me and the peace and quiet. Isolation does not bother me.
I owned my first dog, a border collie/kelpie cross at 14 years of age and my brother brought home a cat from school about the same time; they both lived to a great age as our pets. Next came a german shepherd I trained to win obedience trials and then with children came a menagerie of animals - an abused german shepherd from a shelter, a keeshound who was a challenge with great rewards, a cat which adopted us, birds, fish and guinea pigs. All have gone now.
When I was in my 20's I travelled the world for 4 years which was the making of me I believe as a young person. After many years and a different life of being an empty nester and with changing circumstances, I again began to travel. I love experiencing new places and meeting new people and I have found housesitting a wonderful way to do this. I have met some lovely people and cared for some adorable animals, some of which I would have happily adopted.
I can only see it as a win win for both myself and home owners but I also understand how difficult it is for pet owners to leave their animals in the care of a stranger. I can only say that I treat the house and pets as I would my own and take the best care I can of both. I have included references, both character and housesitting.
I joined a world wide housesitting site 18 months ago and have been busy for most of that time, mostly suburban sits in Victoria and Western Australia (where my daughter lives) with domestic animals but also have sat a 30 acre horse property and a 12 acre hobby farm with miniature horses, sheep and chooks. I have recently joined this site as, at this point in time, I am unlikely to travel overseas and being an Australian site, I feel it gives more options to see my own country. I am looking forward to exploring more country areas of Victoria and also interstate in the future as a sitter.
My hobbies are gardening, reading, singing, walking and travel. On longer sits I try to become part of the local community by pursuing those interests.
I have a police clearance because of employment with children and volunteering with the elderly. I have worked in childcare, vineyards and hospitality.

Key achievements:
10 years as a cub leader
Care of children in my home
Volunteer driver for elderly
Worked in orphanage in Thailand
Taught English in Greece and Africa
Book-keeper for husband's business.

...we're available again from late August>early September 2017 and onwards.

We come with Police check and impeccable references from previous house-sit home owners...the best references you can possibly get.

Healthy, very active, sober, non smoker mature couple looking to house-sit 'clean and tidy' homes - upon your return your home will be exactly how you left it.

We are very private people - we never have visitors and, other than when shopping, we never leave your home and/or pets unattended....definitely no parties.

We've always had dogs and love having them around - we find cats are ever so cool - we love interacting with all pets including the feathered variety and even those with scales.

Lyn is a fastidious housekeeper and very keen gardener - everything will be kept spotlessly clean, gardens and lawns well kept and watered, dogs well walked and other pets well cared for.

...we prefer longer term stays where possible - the longer the better - so if you're off caravaning or taking an extended overseas break then rest easy, we'll be delighted to take care of your home and your pets.

Again - we can provide a Police Check plus excellent references from recent house-sit homeowners - we do not post written references on house-sit websites out of respect for our referees - each has made a special point of contacting us on their return to express their thanks at how well the home, gardens and their hairy/furry/feathered children were taken care of - if seriously considering us as your house-sitters each of our referees will be happy to speak with you directly and confirm their complete satisfaction.

....we're happy to speak and meet asap.

Jim & Lyn.

Hi there, I'm a semi retired 50 something male (non smoker) who looks after people's pets and homes. I have had many happy clients, including lots of dogs and cats and horses and cows (see pics); I'm sure their owners are happy too.

I have many references from pet owners who you can speak to; including police personnel, doctors and business owners, so you can check my bona fides.

I have much rural experience and I'm rather handy with tractors, diggers, ride on lawn mowers, chainsaws and the like. Homes in my care have varied from farms to cute cottages to executive palaces and high security homes.

My preferences are northern rivers of NSW / sthn Queensland and the greater Sydney area. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks :)

Available from 19 November 2014.

Alicia

  • Melbourne, SW Vic

Hello,

I'm Alicia, 25 and studying/working in Melbourne. I grew up on a property in the wombat state forest (central victoria) and have lived in Melbourne for the last few years. I am looking to house-sit while I finish my degree and save some money. I think it will suit me because I like to try new things and be in different places, but also appreciate having a nice place to retreat to.

I am a caring and considerate person and would take care of your home with the same level of pride and respect as I would my own. I love animals of all kinds and am excited at the prospect of making some new pet friends. I have a cat called Mogwai (see picture) who I found a few years ago as a kitten living underneath my house. He's a little bit odd, but very well loved. If you have a home that could accommodate one more cool cat, I would love to bring him with me (if not, don't worry! He's got a good home at my Mums house.) I am a good problem solver and a quick learner (and I can follow instructions!), so am confident I would be able to take care of your pets and can handle things in an emergency. I'm pretty fit and stronger than I look (through sheer will most of the time!) and would be able to handle a larger dog too. Where I live at the moment we have a thriving vegie garden and a mish mash of succulents and ferns. I wouldnt say I have a green thumb, but I know how to compost, weed, fertilise, water, prune and mow. I spend a lot of time reading and always always prefer to do it in a nice sunny spot in the garden.

I'm home quite often during the day reading or writing for uni and finish work in the early afternoon, so it's rare that I'm out late. When I have free time I like to exercise- jogging, walking, cycling, go to the beach, bake and read. I try to live well and like to keep myself and the place I live healthy. I'm clean and tidy and am flexible with dates or if you have special requirements for your pets/home care (scheduled walks, cleaning etc). I am willing to provide additional references or information if required. I also have a current police check.

I really hope to hear from you soon and look forward to looking after your home.

You need not look any further, you have found a caring, trustworthy sitter to mind your home and precious, loved ones, including collecting the mail, taking out / bringing in bins and general house cleaning, as required. I keep an exceptionally clean and tidy, secure home, to ensure you peace of mind while you are away!

I am a 46 year old woman, and very experienced in pet / house sitting and tentatively mindful of home owners houses and precious pets in their absence! Please note that I am a non smoker and have no pets of my own.

Having grown up in a friendly pet loving home and having always been privileged to have pets close by, I have a genuine love and natural affiliation with animals and have responsibly cared for them in the past as I would my own. I regularly reassure owners of their pet's progress and house upkeep during their absence. Looking after your home / pets would be as much of a benefit to you / them as it would be to me.

Being locally based I am very familiar with Sydney and flexible with potential meeting times. Therefore, it would be easy for me to meet with you, at your convenience, to discuss your requirements further.

I have a passion for gardening and landscaping; I have the time to care for, walk and empathize with your pet/s missing their owner/s while keeping your home safe and as you left it. I have always owned my own homes and worked in responsible professional positions; married for 37 years to an electrician who works away six months of the year, with adult independent children living interstate pursuing professional careers.

I will respect your home, garden and beloved pets with the care I show my own. I can supply a Police Check, Working with Children Check (pets are our children!), House Owners and character references when required.

LONG TIME SITTER HOST & HOME OWNER

Introduction
Hello - I am at a time of life where I am available to be the brilliant house and pet sitter you are looking for. I am a single professional, self-employed Australian with two adult sons (pursuing their own careers). With no family around me, I no longer need to be based in one location. I enjoy the freedom that house sitting offers where I can be a devoted animal lover to other people's pets while enjoying your location. Being agile and moving to different cities suits my Internet based (email traffic, not heavy downloads) work very well and as I have lived in almost all of Australia's capitals & various cities overseas, I am very much at home wherever I am.
I will consider any sit with a preference for long house sits (3-12months). I am open to being in any location, city or region…here are some of my favourites: NYC, Spain, Malta, Central America, Chile, most countries in Europe and NZ. I am self employed as a facilitator and executive coach where I conduct my work 'virtually' via the Internet & Skype. This means I can work anywhere as long as I have fast, reliable Internet.

Why I want to house sit
Through past house sitting experience, I recognise the value of house sitting to pet lovers & security for your home while giving me flexibility & variety in lifestyle. I have travelled extensively over the years and am resourceful and socially inclusive. Your pets and home will receive my responsible and loving attention and I will be proactive by staying in touch to keep you informed about how everything is going without being a burden. You can learn more about me via my LinkedIn and business websites which I'd be happy to send you, along with my CV, biography and character referees, for information. I live simply and cleanly and will be very respectful of your home, belongings, security and privacy. I own a car, however, for overseas or remote/ distance house sits, I’d welcome the use of a car if possible please.

My experience & promise to you
I promise warmth, openness, transparency and genuine care of your pet family and your home. I am pleased to have 'home based' work so I offer a strong presence & companionship for your home & pets. I have been an Australian Army Officer with a top secret positive vet security clearance (21yr), consultant to most Australian Commonwealth Govt departments, 3yrs as deputy chair and director Crime Stoppers & National Trust boards. I pride myself on maintaining high integrity, sound judgement, balance, reliability and being a proactive communicator. I'm also a very loving and gentle person with animals. You can depend on me to keep you informed, make decisions about your pets and home with your priorities in mind. I am comfortable with all types of animals and those with special needs. I will reach out to those in your immediate community network, as advised by you, if needed. I've been a home owner for 25yr, an animal lover for life and I know the value of a quality house sitter. I've had the joy of 7yrs great housing sitting experience myself as a host with my own house sitter, so I fully understand and respect the responsibility that comes with this position. I am also a 'live-in' sitter for people with frequent short absences, so I am there while you come and go.

My aim is to give you absolute peace of mind while you are absent while having a cost effective home solution for myself (as a 'local'!) in a new environment. I look forward to getting to know you and your pet family! My previous hosts are all happy to chat with you and I can email you their references if you wish. Wherever possible, if I am in your city, I will always try to meet with you and your pets in advance of the sit so we know 'everyone' is comfortable. Warmly, Lisa

NOTE: I AM COMMITTED WITH HOUSE SITS UNTIL JUN18 WITH A FEW VACANT WINDOWS FOR OCT17, JAN/FEB & APR18….. HAPPY TO DISCUSS SITS BEYOND JUN18 TOO. Note that it's always worth checking in with me anyway in case I am free due to hosts' change of plans. I like to make contact in advance with new hosts so we can see if we're a fit (for your pets, you & me) in advance of a future sit. Let's chat!

We have owned our own home for over 25 years. We know how to look after a home and take responsibility for leaving your home as great as you left it.

We are both animal lovers. We are active and walk every day, so walking dogs is easy.

We do not smoke and are quiet and tidy people.

We LOVE house sitting and have looked after active dogs, older dogs on medication, dogs who need lots of hugs and attention, fussy cats, cats who need to sleep with you on the bed, and birds.

My husband works full time and I work 15hrs per week, we love trips to the dog park and endless ball throwing.

Hi... I am a single, non-smoking full-time employed (37 years old). Looking for an alternative to renting, this seems a great way to conserve my funds and save to buy my own home for future security. I love the company of animals, enjoy gardening, and am an extremely efficient, clean and organised person.
I have experience as house sitters and have excellent references. Why not contact me so we can meet and you can decide for yourself?

We are an Irish couple who have been travelling to Australia every second year since 2009, usually spending 4-5 months there at a time. Our son, his wife and son live in Melbourne and, of course, visiting them is our main reason for travelling to Australia.
On our previous trips we have taken part in WWOOFING. This is volunteering to work on various farms and properties around Australia in return for food and accommodation. Details can be found on the website..www.woof.com.au. We have had really positive experiences doing this and have met some wonderful people. Some properties we return to time and time again. It is a wonderful way to travel and see the wonderful Australian countryside.
We have owned our own home here in Ireland for the past 35 years. We are both very houseproud, responsible and reliable and would take excellent care of your home, pets and property. We love the company of animals and have owned several cats over the years. We also have plenty of experience with dogs and farm animals. We live in a rural area in the west of Ireland.
We will be available for house sitting from October 22nd 2017 until mid February 2018. We can supply references upon request.

We are two retired, active, music and food loving schoolteachers with a penchant for travelling and enjoying new experiences. We have been involved in house and pet sitting for many years and in many places throughout Australia and overseas. While we have a home in Adelaide, we enjoy a nomadic lifestyle in our motorhome, which makes it unfair to have pets of our own. Housesitting allows us to indulge our love of animals and over the years we have cared for many dogs, cats, birds, horses, sheep, goats, cattle and the like, with dogs, whether big and boisterous or small and cuddly, being our special love. We are certainly respectful, house-proud sitters, with Tony being a dab hand at housework and gardening while Helen is something of an expert at quality control, and you can rest assured that your property and pets will be cared for as if they are our own. We will happily provide you with contact details for phone referees if required.

Hi my name is Pat. I am a non smoker. Born and bred in Frankston Victoria. I have recently taken to the road in my ute slide on camper. I have done a little bit of house sitting along the way. Happy to provide referees. I am looking to spend 6-12 months back home to catch up with family, friends and do a bit of casual work. My 12 year old dog has travelled and house sitted with me. He is well socialised and travelled. Livestock, chickens, rabbits and other dogs are not an issue. He has also been brought up around cats. We enjoy daily morning walks and are happy to walk twice a day if required. We love walking in the bush, in the park or if we are lucky enough on the beach. I like to keep a clean tidy home and environment healthy. The outdoors is my favorite place. If there is gardening and weeding to be done I'm in my happy space. I love animals and would be happy to house sit your home in a place where treasured furry family member feels safe, secure and never lonely. Animals are the best company. They give us so much so it is only fitting we give back to them.

Hi,
I am a mature lady. Knocking on 50 this year.
I'm a secondary school teacher from New Zealand (with a current police check).
I'm a non-smoker. I'm very reliable, tidy and easy-going, friendly and caring. I have a warm personality.

I am fit, and I enjoy walking, mountain biking and the gym. I love the outdoors. I'd be happy to walk your dogs as much as you would like, any excuse to enjoy the fresh air with furry friends!

I love animals as I was brought up on a farm and I appreciate how important it is to know your animals are happy and well looked after. When my son was young, we owned three dogs, a canary and a cat; quite a menagerie!

I am a home owner myself and my house in Christchuch is tenanted long term. So I know what a great feeling it is to have someone looking after your house as if it is their own.

In Christchurch, I have been living with two Bichon Frise/ Chihuahua cross dogs and a Border Collie and they have been delightful companions.

I've decided to come to Melbourne to experience the Art, Music and culture.

My son lives and works all over Australia as a helicopter pilot and works all over Aussie. That's why have moved to Australia.

I am looking forward to looking after your home and your furry or feathered family!
Warm regards
Lila
