Janet & Jeff

  • Sunshine Coast

Bundaberg from 11th to 19th October then Sunshine Coast from 28th December to 13th April
We are Janet & Jeff who are reliable & honest people who are non smokers and enjoy exploring our wonderful country. We have been living in Tasmania for the last 6 years, originally from the NSW Central Coast. Therefore, we have decided to semi retire and further travel around Australia house/pet sitting, Iam a Registered Nurse and to support our journey I need to work casual, Jeff is retired and has all day to leisurely spend those hours with your animals and garden. .

We started this journey on 4th September 2016 and now have nearly completed our 13th very sucessful house & pet sits the owners & pets have loved us. We also have secured another 7 house sits in South East Queensland.

The main reason we are choosing to house sit our way around Australia is that we love the comforts of a home and love animals and do not want to tow a van. We have raised dogs, cats, Lorrikeet and chickens with the utmost love & care.

As home owners,we have previously used house sitter services, Therefore we are fully aware of the expectations of home owners of keeping a well maintained, loved, clean and happy home and caring for animals. These expectations are a priority and a value we hold strongly.

We both have up to date police checks as well as working with vunerable people card. All our previous home owners are willing to be referees for us( see contact numbers below). We also have personal rerenences and if required we have references from Airbnb home owners.

As well we are also very responsible people that have been involved in Rotary both holding positions of President and Secretary. Jeff & myself are also Paul Harris Fellow's which is a prestigious individual award for outstanding service.

As housesitters we supply our own linen and ensure durning our stay your house is always clean & tidy and fulfill any jobs you may require. We will walk & feed your animals to their usual schedule. We may go exploring for a few hours during day but always home during late afternoon and evening. So when you come back from your time away you walk back into a lovely house like you left it and happy animals.

Hope you will consider us as your next house & pet sitter because we will ensure to give your house & pets an outstanding service.

Alice & Ian

  • Melbourne

Introduction:
Hi, Alice here! I am Australian born and have spent 38 years based in London where I met my husband, Ian. I trained as a nurse and midwife and had an independent midwifery practice for almost 20 years. I have now retrained as a counsellor. Ian worked as a teacher for many years and retired as an IT consultant a few years ago. We have tenants in our London home, an Edwardian house that we spent years renovating, learning the skills we needed from our friends, evening classes, books and YouTube. We love exploring new places and finding the local markets, museums, exhibitions, swimming holes and decent coffee. We enjoy walking, reading, gardening, meeting new people, and sharing meals (especially if we have all cooked them together) with friends and family.
Relevant experience we bring to the house sit:
I grew up with pets (a dog and a cat), and my two children (now adults) had cats, hamsters, rabbits and fish. I would have loved a dog also but our living space was unsuitable. We have spent many hours helping my adult daughter to care for her horses in West Sussex and have often looked after her dog, on a few occasions for several weeks at a time. Since arriving in Australia in May 2016, we have cared for chooks and newly hatched chickens, fish, cats and dogs. Being keen walkers, the dogs we care for get plenty of exercise. As homeowners and renovators, we know how important it is to respect and care for our clients' homes as carefully as they would themselves. We understand how much a pet and its owner/s miss each other when parted and so we strive to provide continuity of care by following any instructions left for us.
We bring these attributes to our house-sitting assignments: the ability to follow instructions; attention to detail; the ability to set and maintain clear boundaries with our charges to provide a safe and secure setting alongside providing warmth, attention and play; the ability to deal with the unexpected and any emergencies in a calm and professional manner. If absent owners wish, we send intermittent updates and snapshots by sms, WhatsApp or email. Those we have done this for have commented that they found this practice very reassuring.
With our combined backgrounds in nursing, midwifery small business ownership, teaching, first aid, building renovation and gardening we bring a wealth of experience in organisation, flexibility and practicality to the task at hand.
Why we want to house sit:
After spending several months travelling up and down the east coast in Alan the Campervan, it is great to stay in a house or flat rent free, sleep in a normal bed and not have to walk 200 metres to the nearest loo. However, that is not the only reason. We enjoy meeting new people (and their pets), and the surprise of finding ourselves in places that we may not have discovered otherwise. Caring for animals in their own homes is fun and very rewarding as we get to know them and work on building a trusting and affectionate relationship. We get a thrill when owners return to find their pets content and thriving, their gardens happy, and their homes even neater and tidier than when they left.

Marc & Jody

  • ACT, Alice Springs, Darwin, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Mackay & Whitsundays, Rockhampton, Cairns, Townsville, SA, TAS, Melbourne, WA

We are a small family from Holland. Marc, Jody and our little 2 year old daughter Saar.

We want to see all of Australia, so we are looking for housesits anywhere.

We want to stay in Melbourne until april.
However between mid february and beginning of march we are looking for a housesit somewhere else. Who lives outside of Victoria and needs a housesit in that period? Let us know!

We love animals, have 2 dogs in Holland, but prefer not to sit dogs here as we want to be able to go for days aways once in a while.
Cats are no problem.

Michelle

  • Adelaide, Melbourne

I have been house-sitting for two years now. I have had various house-sits in and around Melbourne, varying from looking after two dogs and three hens on a 50 acre winery at Coldstream, to looking after a golden retriever in a beautiful, old, red brick, two-storey house in Hawthorn. I have formed friendships through house-sitting. I have returned to one particular house-sit five times. I enjoy house-sitting - meeting people, looking after animals which I love and helping people at the same time. In my experience house-sitting I have been to places around Melbourne I had never been before which is one of the reasons I love house-sitting so much.

Previously though I have lived on the land all my life.I have had a several dogs ,my last was a pure bred blue roan cocker spaniel. I was owner of Serendip Siamese and bred and showed Siamese and Foreign White cats. My last lovely cat died at age 17 before I left for work overseas. I am a responsible, honest, caring animal lover, a non smoker & non drinker who loves to read ( addicted to my iPad which has 500 books for me to choose from!). I like winter sitting in northern climes and being home to water my garden in Spring/Summer if possible. I will consider sits in Perth for two weeks over Christmas which would allow me to see family and spend some of Xmas day with them.

I have a family wedding in Perth at Christmas and again in February so am happy to house sit in Perth this Summer so I can attend those precious family occasions whilst maintaining independence and caring for beloved pets and homes.

I am new to this site but have been sitting privately and with Mindahome and have references available. I have a Police Clearance and a previous working with Children Check( for work- now expired).
I will care for your home as my own and your pets with loving care and attention.

Hello all,

I'm George and I am a fun, single professional who loves animals of all kinds. I love to travel and see house sitting as a way to travel in my own city.

Physically active and a non-smoker, I will be able to give your pet the time and attention they deserve. Love chilling out at home after a hard day with the company of some loving animals.

I have looked after a number of animals that include dogs, cats, chickens, guinea pigs, rats, birds and fish.

I am a clean individual who will take care of your place with pride. Happy to perform daily cleaning duties and other chores you may need. I would be glad to look after your home and your pet so you can take a break stress-free.

I have quite a bit of experience with dogs raising and training my own German Shepherd X since he was a pup. Having said that I also love the independent and mischievous attitudes of their feline friends.

If you think I suit what you're looking for, give me a call and I can supply references on request and look forward to meeting you soon.

George.

  • Melbourne, Geelong, Otway Ranges/ Great Ocean Rd

Hello everyone!

New to this site, I'm moving home to Victoria after several years living abroad in the UK and Europe. I'm a school teacher and writer, planning to spend some months developing side projects, which enables me to be quite flexible on location.

Having lived in a variety of shared houses and independent rentals over the last decade, I'm very conscious and considerate of maintaining a clean environment. Very happy to help out with a spot of gardening too, especially during the coming spring months.

By nature I'm caring and affectionate towards all animals, but especially dogs, having always grown up with our beloved family dogs as furry best friends. Not having a pet has been one of the big sacrifices of living aboard and instead I'm a very proud auntie to my sister's adopted Pomeranian! I can assure that your pets will be pampered with attention, exercise and cuddles when in my care, and I would be available to be present at home during most of the day if desired.

Happy to provide references on request. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line! I'm eager to explore new areas whilst looking after both home and precious pets, and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi! My name is Carolyn and I am a 36 year old, non-smoking professional. I work full-time and not so long ago now I purchased a property that I rent out while I continue enjoying house and pet sitting around Melbourne. I started house sitting several years ago, looking after the homes and pets of colleagues, friends and family. When I made the decision that I would love to house & pet sit more often, I signed up to this website. I've now been house sitting through this website for over 4 years. I love staying in many different parts of Melbourne and exploring new areas. I have had pets all my life and would very much enjoy taking excellent care of your pets, just as you would! I am a clean, responsible and considerate person and I consider it a privilege to care for your home and pets. I would really like for you to have peace-of-mind while you are away, so I am more than happy to provide you with as many updates from home as you'd like :o).

Meagan & ALBERTO

  • Melbourne

Hi we are Meagan and Alberto. We are a non-smoking couple in our early-to-mid 30’s, who will look after your home as you do. We are an excellent team and proud of living an efficient, clean and organised lifestyle. Meagan (30 years old) was born in Melbourne, and is a Health Promotion Project Officer for a community health service. Alberto (34 years old) was born in Rome, Italy, works as a Project Coordinator for a construction company. We have been together for 5 years living both in Italy and Melbourne. We have both grown up with pets (cats and dogs) and we do love, being outdoors and gardening. Meagan already has experience as a house sitter and Alberto coordinates holiday rentals in Italy and so he has a good understanding of property maintenance requirements. Meagan has a shorter working day, so will easily be able to take you dog for walks before and after work. On weeknights we generally like to stay home and cook. On weekends, we like to be outdoors, so weather permitted we’ll look to take your dog on an excursion. Our interests: all things italian, cooking, sport, movies, photography, camping, being outdoors and being with friends and family. We see house sitting as an activity that provides a mutual benefit to the homeowner and to the sitters. We will look after your home, garden and pets they way you would. We are house sitting to save money for a deposit on our own home, to experience various suburbs and communities across Melbourne and to demonstrate that there are different ways of living ie. a) with few possessions and b) with trust in people to look after your best interests without an exchange of money. We are most interested in house sitting roles for at least 3 weeks in duration. For any roles over 1 month we are happy to pay for our use of internet, electricity and gas. We believe this is a fair agreement. What we can provide: Police checks, House sitting, rental, personal and professional references. We are happy to meet you multiple time before you decide that we are the sitters for you. If you would like us to get to know your pets before you leave we’re happy to come over for a play. What we promise: To stay in regular contact with you while you’re away. We can send photo updates of your home, garden and/or pets; Skype is even an option. To do as you ask. Let us know how you do things at home, and we will continue to do them in the same way. We are quick learners and respect that you know what is best. To respond responsibly and appropriately to any unforeseen events, communicating with you along the way. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to hear more about us.

Dear Home Owners,

I have been house sitting for a number of years now and I thoroughly enjoy taking care of other's homes, pets and gardens when it is necessary for them to be away traveling for work or leisure. It is my belief that if home owner's know their pets and homes are being cared for they are able to go ahead with their plans in a relaxed manner.
I have done house sitting in a number of suburbs in Melbourne; Hampton, Mont Albert North, Kew East, Glen Huntly and Collìngwood. I have also completed house sitting in Castlemaine, a small city located in Victoria's Goldfield's region, approximately 170km from Melbourne, and the beautiful Macedon, approximately 62km from Melbourne. Apart from house sitting in Victoria I have also done some house sitting in Bridgeman Downs, in Brisbane.
I have lived a rural lifestyle and taken care of many animals while doing so. For the past 22 years I have lived in Mildura and I have worked part time as a Canteen Assistant and a Library Assistant. After 15 years of working at a secondary school and a primary school and 4 daughters growing up, moving away and getting on with their own lives, I am now taking on some more Library Study as a mature aged Off Campus student and I am therefore able to travel around and experience some new places.
I am a non smoker and I have some documents for home owner's to have a look at to get to know me a little better. The following home owners are who I have completed house sitting for:

I enjoy my own space and quiet times at home, practice yoga enjoy reading, good coffee and morning walks. I am a non smoker and have excellent references from previous clients or employers.
I can honestly say that I am extremely honest and caring and most of all when it comes to pets put more than required to look after any ones pets.

Hi, my name is Michelle. I'm a quiet person, single and a non-smoker with no dependants. I like to meet friends for coffee or just hang at home. I enjoy writing music, reading, gardening and oddly I am house proud. I can tell the difference between your non-stick frypan and your ordinary frypan AND know the difference between glass and crystal AND the difference between a weed and a plant. Sounds silly, I know, but its the little things.

I have had pets all my life and love animals so if you have a pet/s, I have the energy and love to care for them no matter what their requirements are and I'll also let you know how its all going if you would like me to.

Everybody's home is different and if you have special requirements for your home I will happily take care of this. Rest assured your precious belongings will be respected and cared for.

I don't throw parties, or make a habit of having people come over at all hours. I am conscious that it is your home, I am a guest, and you wouldn't want anyone traipsing through.

I have a drivers licence and can provide an Australian Police Check and references if you would like.

It would be a real privilege to look after your home so please, drop me a line or call and I will be happy to answer any questions that you have.

Hi there! :-)

Seeking assurance & trusted help with your pet/s and place?

If you are looking for a great pet/housesitter, that's me! I am an experienced 21- time pet/housesitter. I have looked after dogs, cats, fish, mice and birds (also rambuctious lorikeets and energetic puppies!).

My preferences are cbd, Inner East, inner west or lower North Shore i.e. relatively close to CBD, so that i can stay at home more. If located near CBD, would need off-street or all-day car parking so that I can work from home & look after your pets.

I can provide assurance that I will look after your pets and place like they're my very own. I don't have a criminal record, drug/alcohol problem etc and can verify this with a police clearance certificate. I have housesitted successfully many times before and have references.

----

Just a bit about me:

I'm very clean, tidy and responsible. I'm a mature professional in my 40's. I'm active and love playing & walking your pets. I'm friendly and vibrant but not a 'party' person at home. I treat home as a sanctuary where your people and pets can retreat to and relax.

I'm a self-employed professional coach/consultant, that works predominantly from home. I'm caring (I have to be for my job!) and enjoy helping people. I LOVE animals, particularly dogs and cats, and enjoy looking after them! I have had my own pets: dogs, cats, rodents and birds, most of my life.

Steph takes a lot of notes about your home and pet details, she also deals with most communications. Often with regular SMS or email updates as required. Beware - Stephanie LOVES to CUDDLE YOUR PETS.

DAVID
He works in the ARTS sector doing LIVE THEATRE PRODUCTION. Working varied hours, David is often home during the day. He is good with problem solving and household maintenance so comes in handy on bin day and for GARDENING duties. Also LOVES walking DOGS and relaxing with CATS.

We PRIDE OURSELVES on being CLEAN and TIDY and know how to treat your home with RESPECT, love your FUR FAMILY and ensure all household logistics are well taken care of.

If you would like to see if we are going to be a GOOD FIT for your needs and live in the MELBOURNE area, please drop Stephanie a message.

Look forward to hearing from you soon,
