I am a teacher in my 40s who is looking for a house sit (preferably a stretch of a few weeks or longer) in the eastern suburbs while I save for a house deposit. I work full time Monday to Friday, so your pets will need to be used to you being out during the day. I prefer taking care of cats (as they don't mind their own company) or dogs provided you have 2 (or more) so they don't get lonely during the day. I've also minded farm properties, so feeding chickens, geese, horses, etc is not a big deal. I have been a responsible tenant and will take care of your home like it is my own. I live a clean and tidy lifestyle, don't smoke or drink and seek a quiet environment where I can write, and play guitar and violin possibly in the early evening. If your house is by the ocean that would be a huge bonus as I love the beach. Just to clarify, the cat in the picture does not travel with me, he belongs to my good friends in Melbourne (Point Cook)! References available on request.
Hi there - We are not taking any more bookings until further notice!!We are Mel and Anita who have been together for 4 years. We live a healthy lifestyle, are non smokers, vegetarian, keep a clean and tidy house and rarely drink. Both professionals who work full-time in the inner suburbs of Melbourne. We had been living in Elwood for the past 5 years or so and St Kilda prior to that so weren't in the position to have our own animals. After booking in a few consecutive sits, we packed up our belongings and are now embracing housesitting full-time!! It has been so much fun, we wish we started earlier... We have looked after some funny characters along the way :)Over the previous 10 months, we have completed a number of pet sits with various durations ranging from 9 days to 2 months. We have had the pleasure of looking after just one cat, some tropical fish and one household which had two dogs and two cats. We treat each place we stay at like it's our own and take on all of the responsibilities of housesitting, including mowing the laws, gardening, weekly cleaning, washing dogs etc. We have excellent references after completing a few housesits from this website and as we have done a couple of word-of-mouth jobs, we are more than happy to provide further information from other home owners if requested. We own an apartment in St Kilda and both have properties in other states, so understand the concerns associated with leaving your home/pets in someone's else's care, but rest assured that it/they will be looked after to a high standard! Mel is an ex PE teacher and her 4 years experience as a live in property manager in London, gave her skills and knowledge required for the general upkeep of properties (including unblocking toilets). Mel has a current Police Clearance and Anita will obtain one if requested. We look forward to hearing from you.You won't be disappointed, your pets will be well cared for and your house will be sparkling on your return :)

I am a retired primary school teacher and my husband is a retired secondary teacher. Our daughter, Kate, is a barista and currently living at home until she starts studying for her Masters in Social Work in Melbourne later in 2018. When minding your home it would either be Kate or myself who comes to stay and there might be two of us or one. My husband might also accompany one of us. There would only be at the most two sitters staying at your house. All of us are non smokers. We are neat and tidy around the house and if John was to stay then he is a great fix it man and would happily tend to any problems around the home!We have had a long history of owning dogs of various types (mostly small) in our family. We live on 40 acres of bush near the Grampians in a mudbrick home and there are always plenty of places to walk the dogs. If we sit for you then our son would mind our dog Murphy. We can provide written or phone references if requested. We are keen to do the right thing by you and your pet and can guarantee you will both be pleased with our care!We look forward to meeting you and your pets!

Hi we are a family of five affectionate pet lovers living in and going to school in Melbourne's northern suburbs. We have become full-time house-sitters as a way of saving up to pursue our dream of travelling around Australia together and have been house sitting professionally now since September 2017. We love meeting new animals and their owners, and experiencing different pockets of Melbourne! With the girls attending school in the inner north of Melbourne, we prefer locations within a 30 minute driving radius of there during school terms - but that covers a decent area! While Phil is at work in the CBD and the girls are at school, Justine is home much of the day to keep your pets company, ensuring both the comfort of your pet & the security and care of your home. We have looked after:cats, fish, chooks, rats, birds, lizards, guinea pigs, and dogs both big and small.... so are quite confident in feeding, administering medication, washing, walking and cuddling your furry, feathered and scaled friends and we understand how important it is that they are having a good time while their people are away.Leave your home and pets in our capable hands, confident knowing that your pets are being lovingly cared for in their usual environment & routine, and kept company both day and night. We are more than happy to send you plenty of photos and updates if it helps you to relax. Our aim at every house-sit is for you to be greeted by your happy pets with your home looking even better than you left it. We can also water indoor/outdoor plants and maintain the lawn & garden if you are away for an extended period. Q: But what about the kids? Are they going to trash my house? I don't have beds for them!... and what if they torment my poor animals?!A: No way! Our girls are really relaxed and have great house manners. They spend most of their indoor time (when not at school or other activities) either reading, drawing or cuddling animals. They have their own portable beds we can bring and take up very little space, happily sharing a room.We are honestly quite comfortable in any home with 2 or more bedrooms. Kids are fantastic company for animals, giving them as much attention and love as they want. Your furry friend will likely have more brushing, cuddles and attention than they have ever had in their life, and will feel absolutely doted upon! Our girls have had a lot of exposure to and experience with a wide range of animals with many different temperaments and therefore are sensitive to and know to adjust the amount of attention they give to animals accordingly. We are very friendly, non-smoking, quiet and considerate so you don't need to worry about us troubling sensitive neighbours.Very happy to provide excellent references from previous pet-sits and house-sits on request. Check out some of our testimonials on Facebook.com/restassuredhousesit
We are a young couple from Emerald (you know, in the Dandenongs, with the Puffing Billy). We own a cosy little house up here, but Nyamka works at RMIT in the CBD, and Aidan is getting his Masters degree at La Trobe University in Bundoora! Those are both very long commutes, so we like to house-sit closer to Melbourne whenever we can while we save up the deposit for a nice little apartment in the city.Aidan grew up on a farm in rural Victoria, surrounded by animals - cats, dogs, fish, rabbits, ferrets, chickens, ducks, and more. He's also a keen gardener, and has a large collection of cacti. Nyamka runs the Melbourne Minimalist Meetup and has a side business as a professional declutterer, so as you'd expect her house is always perfectly tidy and spotlessly clean. Neither of us drink or smoke, and we both have a clean criminal record. We own a large station-wagon, perfect for taking your big dogs to the vet/groomer as necessary, or for dropping you off/picking you up at the airport! We have house-sat plenty of times for friends and family members (references available upon request). We're joining this website to find more houses to sit, as our friends and family don't go away enough. We are responsible, reliable people, and we'd love to take care of your house and pets for you.

We are available in December (for two weeks or more over Xmas please) in Southern Qld or Northern NSW. We are retired, caring and experienced sitters. We are quiet, non-smokers, reliable, trustworthy, very clean and tidy. We have references and current national police clearances. We have a booking for a house sitting position in Lennox Heads, Northern NSW, from 29th December. So, please allow time for travel there. We pride ourselves in looking after your house and fur babies as if they were our own! We both love pets, having owned and lovingly cared for various types of animals. We don't mind sharing our bed with some furry creatures. We are also keen gardeners and have looked after pools and acreage. We are currently doing most of the renovations ourselves on our home. We have done a lot of renovations in the past on previous homes and our current rental properties. As such, we are very handy with tools and equipment and would be able to tackle most urgent repairs or ongoing maintenance required in your home or on acreage. In her early twenties, Catherine worked as a housekeeper, then was in charge of housekeepers in 4/5 star hotels. Later, she did private house cleaning to supplement her full time job. As such, you can be guaranteed that your house will be left clean when you return. Before retiring, we both worked for the public service in professional high clearance positions for 20 or so years. We travelled overseas extensively and would now like to primarily concentrate on seeing other parts of our beautiful country. We like to live as one of the locals, as well as discovering the surroundings when we are away. So, being able to do this, whilst caring for your home and pets as if they were our own, is the perfect solution! We can also bring our own camper van, should you prefer us to stay in the vicinity, rather than inside your house. The camper can be left at home as well.We love views (from suburban blocks as well), tranquility (we love the out of the way house sitting positions), proximity to beach or lake. We will definitely consider other locations as well. We will consider offers of over two weeks in December that take us over the Christmas period, as being away from home means that we have a forced break from the renovations. When we are home, we work on the renovations seven days a week.Thank you for considering us.Catherine and Wayne
Return Home Delighted, Melbourne.Hi there. I am a very reliable, capable and experienced solo house & pet sitter in my 40's. I'm keenly attune to the needs of animals, (including rescue animals), and will look after them with genuine care and love. I'm a non-smoker, lead a healthy lifestyle, and am very neat and respectful of an owners' specific requirements, whether it be for pets, home, and/or gardens.I returned to my home town of Melbourne four years ago, after seven years working professionally in the Northern Territory. I work part-time from home, and part-time in an office, so while you are away your pets will have plenty of company and attention, and your home will be secure.I come highly recommended and have excellent references! As well as current Police Check and Working with Children Check. I look forward to hearing from you.Inner Metro MELBOURNE (Zone 1), preferred.
IntroductionWe are a mature and friendly retired couple, professional, practical and resilient in new situations, and look forward to new homes and pets to care for. We are non smokers, tidy, active, gardeners, and keen to explore new communities. We have already enjoyed 5 house and pet sits both in Australia and overseas with another organisation in the last year, with excellent references. We appreciate Happy House Sitters because it it has such a range of Australia wide clients, and is easy to access. We would take care of your home and pets, as we would our own, and keep them safe and happy until you return. Why we want to house sitHouse and pet sitting is appealing because of the built in adventure and novelty of such diverse opportunities. We have enjoyed much travel in Australia and overseas, ship, caravan, camping, coast, desert and bush, but would look forward to the interest of connecting with the everyday life in new communities. Many sits give insight to the places less travelled, rather than big tourism locations, and Mike is a keen historian where ever we are.0ur creatures are an essential part of life, but the extra additions to the 'family', "step grand-dogs,cats..and one day hopefully, alpacas!!'', will have all the love and care we can give in the allocated time! What we bring to the assignment / relevant experienceWe have lived in city and country, in town houses and on acreages, and had donkeys, dogs, cats, chooks, and sheep! Our experience in education, country and city communities, gardening, house repairs, and dealing with the emergencies of life, makes us useful Sitters! Having a good sense of humor helps too.We have police checks, and house sitting references. We currently have an old beagle/terrier x, Maggie May, a dear rescue dog, who, as we speak, is snuffling her way through seaweed and beach sand! We love our entertaining chooks, and their produce! Harry the Cat sadly left us after 12 years of slothful existence! Do contact us if your place and pets seem like a good match!
We are about to embark on the great Sydney pastime, the renovation, and have been informed that our home will be uninhabitable for a number of months. We are two non smoking high school teachers of a certain age and have experience with house swapping (can supply references on request) and know how important it is to have reliable people looking after your home. We are clean and tidy and will look after your home as if it were our own. Donna also enjoys looking after the garden. We love animals and often look after our family members' dogs and whilst house swapping have cared for cats. The only reason we don't have pets yet is the impending renovation. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Hi, currently living in Castlemaine and looking to stay in the area until mid August when I will start travelling around Australia. After being in Woodend for 24 years it will be great to see more of Australia. My dog died lady year and although I miss him travelling with a dog at the moment would be difficult. I would enjoy looking after your pets, especially dogs. I am a reliable person and happy to meet with future house sit families. I don't smoke and like for things to be kept tidy. I enjoy patchwork/creative stiching and gardening. No references for house sitting yet as the last time I did this was over 20 years ago!! Where I am staying (caravan park) would be happy to vouch for me. If you want more info please ask.
We are a non-smoking, professional, late 30ish couple looking for house sitting opportunities in Sydney. We are Central Coast home owners and house proud and would look after your house like it was our own. Susanna's work gives her the flexibility to work remotely and Joel is a video editing freelancer in Sydney. This makes for a long commute and after several years commuting, we are now looking for house sits to avoid the long travel time. We were both raised in Sydney with pets and love all animals. We have experience as house sitters and are happy to provide references on request.

Charlotte and I came to Australia from England a year ago, and we have decided to find jobs and settle in Sydney for the foreseeable future. I am 29 and Charlotte is 30. We live a very calm and relaxed lifestyle and our favourite thing to do is to explore restaurants, we love food! We are a very clean, tidy and respectable couple, and you should have no reason not to trust us in your home, and looking after your furry friends. We have been doing occasional house sitting since arriving in Australia, and if you check out the link below to Charlotte’s Facebook page, which she set up for some extra work, you will be able to see some reviews and comments from happy clients:https://www.facebook.com/kikisnsw/?ti=as(Charlotte is Kiki)We heard a lot of good things about house sitting so we thought we would give it a try, and so far it has been very successful. We love animals so we thought why not help people out by looking after their pets, and give them added piece of mind with extra security while they are away, and save some money in the process. We have had animals our whole lives, including dogs, cats, rabbits and chickens. We have also enjoyed looking after some farm animals during our previous house sitting, such as sheep, goats, cows and horses. This has also included giving regular medication and special treatment to animals with injuries and poor health. In addition to the pet care we are always happy looking after other parts of the house, for example, regularly watering plants, cut the grass and we even like to give the house a good clean before we leave!P.S the three photos attached are from previous house sittings over the past 12 months. We are available for house sitting from Saturday 26th May 2018 onwards. Please give us a call, and we will always be happy to come and meet you!Jamie & Charlotte

Hi there, thanks for taking a moment to look at my profile.I'm a 51 year old, not a 20 something experimenting with travel.I've made a very conscious decision to be a nomad, taking in variety of place, people and purpose wherever I can.I'm primarily in startup mode with my new small business...a supplier of digital business cards (yes, they're a thing !) and I'm into my second year, having survived the all important first year (www.mysmartcardsite.com)I'm lucky to have two great kids (young adults) and two ex wives (also young adults at times).I choose the travel life and I've gotten rid of most of my possessions. My car, computer and clothing are pretty much all I own.I'm very comfortable with hard work having owned my own 80 acre property in Tassie for 5 years, off grid, organic vege garden, goats, dogs, chicken, cat, geese and the odd snake or two. Along with the wedge tail eagles they pretty much owned me.I'm happy around animals of all types and very fit.I have no 'needs' except wifi and fresh water. If you can house me, and command me to meet your needs I'd love to take care of your precious space, animals and interests, for as long as you require.Let's start a conversation.RegardsAdam0411 367 890
