We just love pet sitting!

Hi! I'm Anne. I am a professional house and pet sitter with my family in Canberra and the surrounding area including Queanbeyan.

I'm a quiet, professional and active lady and an experienced pet sitter. Having grown up and lived on the family farm I have always been experienced in taking care of animals and property. I like gardening too - even weeding!

We love to take care of pets, houses and gardens. We are very clean, neat and tidy and mature, reliable stay-at-home types and are non-smokers.

We don't discriminate - we are equally cat and dog lovers! But we just don't have our own pets anymore. Being fit and active we like to go on long walks, so dog walking is just great for us!
Medication or senior pet needs are also no problem at all.

Great house / pet sitting references are available and being local we are always happy to meet up with you.

Christina & Reiner

  • ACT, Sydney, Central Coast, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA

We are a responsible, trustworthy, non-smoking freelance/semi-retired couple with plenty of common sense, responsibility and reliability.
We are German born with Australian Permanent Residency/European Citizenship. We both held responsible positions in our careers. Reiner enjoyed a managing position for over 15 years at a renowned public health insurance in Duisburg and I was the managing director of an interior design company and the owner of a reputable home and giftware store with a number of employees in Sydney. We are currently enjoying some time-out and are possessed by the travel bug and welcome this alternate lifestyle of housesitting around the world. While Reiner has the freedom to pretty much enjoy the better things in life I would still like to take on some casual work in the area for a few hours per week depending on the housesit tasks. This way we have more time for ourselves and do the things we truly enjoy, we also have the flexibility to travel with or without our caravan (in Europe) and also do the things we really love doing, like walking, riding bicycles, yoga, meditation reading, cooking, crafting, listening to music..
As of lately we have been taking care of Reiners elderly parents but as things are stabilizing now and they are at good care we are ready to take off to new ventures, again.
We aim to take a professional approach to housesitting and would like to undertake a variety of housesit assignments around the world. We have many years of travel experience and are easily and quickly comfortable elsewhere. We would feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to housesit in different countries and experience their history and culture and learning a new language is always great fun. Housesitting enables us to experience diverse areas and cultures and getting to know the community we live in.
We have both been brought up surrounded by pets and they played a huge part of our life and they have been treated like family members. Our travelling lifestyle precludes us from having our own pets so we particularly love to spoil your beautiful two or four legged family members that we have entrusted to our care.
We have already had some positive experiences in the housesitting community and we would very much welcome the opportunity to sit for you. We are an open minded couple and our time traveling throughout Europe with our Caravan has been introducing us to our nomadic life style. We are not new to the concept of ‘house-sitting’ and regularly find ourselves taking care of the pets of our (camping) neighbours and spoiling their dogs and cats with cuddles or walk or sit them.
We feel that housesitting is home away from home. We look after everything as we would if the house was our own. We both own properties and have a good common sense of how and what to be taken care of. We have renovated our own properties and landscaped our gardens so we can put our hands to most things should the need arise in an emergency.
We know that it may be worrying for you to leave your pets and home; we are very conscious of this and we will make sure that we communicate regularly by e-mail, Skype or whatsapp to reassure you that all is well.
We recognize the importance of selecting the right house-sitters to look after your home, pets and garden. We are genuine animal lovers and having pets to look after is a pleasure for us. We are also house proud and we will keep your house and garden looking clean and tidy and maintained in good condition for your return.
We can provide police checks and any other information you may wish to know upon request. Happy to Skype also as an introduction and a way to get to know us more upfront.
Do contact us as we are always happy to discuss your individual house-sitting needs.

Kind regards,

Christina & Reiner

Our preferred locations are inner South Canberra and suburbs near Aranda ACT.

We are a physically active (walking, swimming, cycling), non smoking retired couple living in Bargara Queensland. Prior to retirement we lived in Canberra for approximately 18 years in between postings, both interstate and overseas, with the RAAF and the Department of Foreign Affairs.

We retired from the Public Service to become Resident Managers of a holiday complex in Bargara.

Having owned cats and dogs in the past we are very comfortable around pets. We are careful about the daily upkeep of our own home and maintain the same standards in other people’s homes.

We have house sat for home owners in WA, Qld and ACT and references are available.

Debra & Tom

  • ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC

Hello,

We are a non-smoking, mature aged couple who will look after your home and pets as if they were your own. We are willing to travel to most areas of Australia. At the moment we are looking for a house-sit in NSW, Victoria or Q'ld, but are willing to consider/travel other states. We are experienced house sitters, having done many sits over recent years including many return requests.

Our reasons for house sitting are simple. It gives us the opportunity of seeing different parts of this beautiful country, and it also to gives us the opportunity to provide the home owner with peace of mind that their home and animal/s will be extremely well cared for, should we be granted that privilege.

We take pride in what we do, being both neat and tidy. We enjoy a quiet life, are very capable, employ common sense and take care of things the way we would hope some-one would do for us.

We have cared for many different animals, cats (many varieties including Ragdoll, Himalayan, Russian Blue, Birman, Burmese, Siamese, much loved long haired and short haired moggies, all with different personalities and requirements, some indoor only felines). We have cared for number dogs (Malamut-cross, Border Collie, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Staffy, Flatcoat Retriever, Labradoodle, Swiss Shepherd to name a few), fish, chickens and cows a herd of 20+. In recent times we can add sheep and goats. We have looked after suburban properties and rural/semi-rural with water tanks and septic systems, pumps and bio-cycles.

We can provide excellent references upon request. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi!
My name is Brett and I'm a high school English and Spanish teacher here in Canberra. I was born in Canberra and while I've lived in many places I keep coming back because I just love this city. My fiancé Lili works in a hotel and she is from Colombia. We met while I was teaching over there and she's been living here for just over 3 years and loves it too.

We hope you will consider us as housesitters for your place as we are really quiet, responsible and dependable people who love animals and would do our utmost to take the best possible care of your place while you're away. We are both non-smokers and take pride in being clean and tidy. We're happy to catch up at any time that is convenient for you to have a chat and so you can get to know us better and take the time to make sure we are the right people for the job.

Many thanks and kind regards,

Brett and Lili

I am a Canberra local of 6 years about 4 of which have been spent taking care of other people’s homes and pets.

Hi there, I'm a semi retired 50 something male (non smoker) who looks after people's pets and homes. I have had many happy clients, including lots of dogs and cats and horses and cows (see pics); I'm sure their owners are happy too.

I have many references from pet owners who you can speak to; including police personnel, doctors and business owners, so you can check my bona fides.

I have much rural experience and I'm rather handy with tractors, diggers, ride on lawn mowers, chainsaws and the like. Homes in my care have varied from farms to cute cottages to executive palaces and high security homes.

My preferences are northern rivers of NSW / sthn Queensland and the greater Sydney area, and now, Melbourne. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks :)

Available Victoria. 17-30 Nov 2019. 10-20 Dec 2019. 11 Jan- 28 Feb 2019.

Fernanda & Fabrice

  • ACT, Melbourne

We are a responsible, non-smoking, non-drinking couple based in Melbourne.

Fernanda is a 41-year-old biologist, Portuguese teacher and a gardener. Fabrice is a 41-year-old, IT consultant and a social worker.

Fernanda and Fabrice lived in Canberra for almost five months, when Fabrice was working at ACT Health as an IT contractor.

In Canberra, we lived in three houses as house-sitters. We had excellent feedback from the owners.

We are back in Melbourne and we have decided to keep house sitting, as we really enjoyed the experience.

We are tidy and respectful individuals, so you will find your home in the condition in which you left it upon your return. We look after the pets with love, as they are ours.

We can provide house sitting, work and personal references and also police checks and IDs.

We appreciate the value of caring for a property, especially when it is not yours!

Brittnay & Jayden

  • ACT, NSW, Alice Springs, Darwin, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA

Hello!

We are Brittnay & Jay, a professional house sitting couple. We both have a passion for animals and travelling. We have both been raised with family pets. However, since we have made the move to travelling and working remotely full time, we both really miss the interaction with animals.

We both feel strongly that pets are apart of your family and treated in such a respect. We have both grown up with an array of animals, so we firmly believe you can comfortably leave them in our capable loving company.

We love to go for walks every day, which would fit perfectly for people with active pets but also are homebodies so your pets will be able to someone to use as a comfy couch in evenings :)

We both work remotely, therefore we are able to be around the house more often hopefully putting your animals at ease with the company.

We enjoy gardening and keeping a tidy home is something we take pride in. We believe communication is key to providing a situation in which both parties are comfortable with the house sit.

We believe all our personal attributes and experiences can provide you with a fantastic service. We are happy to provide personal and police references. Please let us prove how helpful we can be.

Why we want to house sit
Growing up with cats, dogs, birds and fish as family pets we both have had animals close to us our entire lives. Over the past couple of years, we have been travelling and moving around fulltime. Moving around so much it is very hard for us to have pets of our own so we love house sitting because we can get pet interaction that we both really miss.

There is nothing we love more than snuggling up on the couch with a cat or dog, or going for a run along the beach with a dogs lead in hand!

Our Experience
We have completed six house sits over 2017 & 2018. These sits range from 1 weeks to 1 month. We have looked after everything from chihuahuas, new foundlands, turtles, cats & many chickens.

We have both had extensive interaction with animals growing up, including cats, dogs, fish and chickens. Both of us believe animals are apart of your family and are to be treated as such. We are both responsible and reliable individuals who guarantee your animals and property will be cared for to the highest standard. We like to have strong communication with owners, so both yourself and us feel comfortable at all times.

My wife and I own and operate an online business, established almost 8 years ago. The majority of our customers are world wide. As a result, we are permanent travelers, but need to be in Australia to visit with grand kids and assorted family! We are animal lovers, and recently gave away 2 fabulous cats to a good home. (Normally our sons look after the cats, but they all recently left the family home in New Zealand!) We now have good experience in house sitting, we are very responsible people, and would treat your home as we would ours, and the animals and garden would be treated the same. My wife is extremely house proud, and loves to potter about in the garden . She is an extremely organised person and she looks after the house and me very well! Kays Dad was in the 2000 Queens Honors List in New Zealand (R. J. SHARP ONZM, For services to Dairying), because he invented the herringbone milking shed in New Zealand in 1952. Only took 48 years to get recognised. We can provide good personal references. We are non smokers. Broadband or good internet access would be needed.

We are a retired couple who are moving from our family home of 30+ years to an apartment. There is a gap period of several months between leaving our home and moving to our new home. We don't own a dog but have had our family dogs (2 minature poodles) who, collectively were part of our family for 28 years. Currently we look after our daughter's dogs and walk them quite regularly, so we are experienced in pet care. Our only experience in house sitting, has been for family while overseas. This included care of an ageing Prince Charles Terrier and a Burmese cat.

Gina

About Me:

Greetings! I am Gina, a 51 y.o. Elementary Educator taking a sabbatical from teaching to write! Most recently, I taught at an international School in Chengdu, China. I am originally from Texas, USA, but have lived abroad most of the time for the last few decades. I can offer multiple references and a police background check. My integrity is well-earned, and I intend to maintain it!

I am currently committed through Nov. 9 caring for a delightful and energetic 7 mo. old sheperd mix in Melbourne, Australia. My Australian ETA visa extends through Aug 2020. My International Driver's License is on route from the US! I seek long-term caretaking of one-month minimum, with preference given to sits of 3 months or longer! :-) I like to be in one place to establish a relationship of trust and provide a sense of security for you and your animals... and write! I am happy to care for property, animals, gardens, lawn, and plants... any or all of the above!

In life, my animal companions have been dogs, cats, birds, fish, and reptiles. I still miss my (second) spunky Dalmatian, Chinnamasta Chai, who passed back in 2014. I have cared for horses, chickens, cats, dogs, ponies, homes, sailboats, and gardens. I've also fostered doggies.

My goal for 2019-20: Write, publish, and research, while I care for your animals and home and plants! I am a financially independent traveler. For the past few years, I have moved between countries too much to have an animal, so loving yours will fill my heart, which has a small emptiness from being without a pet!

I'm not a "partier", unless you count a glass or two of wine with Netflix or a book as "a party". :-) I do not smoke anything and do not engage in any drug use. I do drink wine occasionally, but in moderation. I like to be active and healthy: running, cycling, hiking, yoga, swimming, meditation, qigong. I truly enjoy quiet and solitude: farms, rural areas, ranches, mountains, etc. are quite appealing. I do enjoy the cultural offerings of cities as well, and really look forward to being in Melbourne. I've been traveling solo for years and enjoy this lifestyle. I'm a happy person, enjoying solitude to read and write, and balance that with social time. My motto is "Life is great", my life tenet is "Compassion to all", and my integrity and reputation are vitally important to me. I make friends where ever I go, so I'm never lonely. :-)

My previous careers have been as a SCUBA and Yoga Instructor in the Caribbean, Panama, and Florida. I still teach yoga and meditation. I have also sailed across the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, and the Caribbean Sea in varying capacities of mate, watch captain, and chef. I taught ESL in Korea prior to becoming a licensed educator, and have also worked in the software and financial sectors. All of my work has involved a high level of trust and integrity (finance, working with children, teaching)! Oh yes, and for my 40th birthday, I bought myself a motorcycle as a present and rode it across the US! I have lived all over the contiguous US, and also in the Caribbean, Hawai'i, Panama, China, and South Korea. I have traveled some of Europe and India, and all over China and Eastern Tibet.

I really love learning about different cultures. When I am able, I like to stay in one place for several years to learn the language and immerse myself. Lately, I have been studying Tibetan history and the various tribes throughout China. Last summer, I spent one year in Kham Tibet, enjoying the people and culture, and making new friends. Kham is one of my favorite areas on the planet. I suppose my avocation is anthropology. I have been traveling around the Kham areas of Yunnan and Sichuan since July, doing some trekking, camping, and hiking.

I love SCUBA diving, swimming in the ocean, hiking, chess, cello, running, reading, writing, yoga, studying, learning, laughing, cooking, film, my friends, travel, adventure, challenging myself, and mornings.

Why I want to pet-sit/house-sit:

For years I have dreamt of taking some time off to write full-time. Always, the concern is living off savings and watching it dwindle; that little angst inside eats away at full enjoyment of time away. A friend of mine suggested pet/house-sitting years ago, and it just didn't click at the time. Now I realize, what a perfect fulfillment of needs on both sides! I get to spend my time writing in a quiet space, with new environs to explore, and "foster" animals and you get your home and animals cared for with much love!! Win-win! I am so grateful I learned about these opportunities!

My pet-sitting and house-sitting experience:

I have excellent references with phone numbers/email from the people I've pet/house-sat for previously (not through this site yet; I'm new to this site!); I am happy to share them! I also have excellent professional and personal references to offer, including landlord references! In fact, you can learn all about my professional experiences and view some of my reference letters online, in my virtual portfolio: www.ginajmcmurray.weebly.com

Further, I have a criminal background check from the USA, that has been notarized and authenticated by the Dept. of State. As an educator, we get frequent background checks, and for good reason!

How I care for your pets and your home:

I always build my schedule around the needs of your animals and gardens/plants. You can be assured that I will spend each night in your home, and not away from your animals! The rest of my day includes writing and research with breaks for hiking/walking/running/yoga/swimming. I love taking the dogs with me for long walks, several times per day, if allowed! I also enjoy cooking, so I spend time in the kitchen. I love plants and gardens, so am happy to care for those (I am very nature-inclined!)

With dogs, lots of play, walking, and exercise breaks! If I am caring for dogs, they get several walks/plays each day (I need a break from sitting, and love the outdoors!). I like large breeds and am very comfortable with them (I have had Dals, Boxers, Collies, Beagles, and mixed breeds). I enjoy learning about different breeds. When I settle down again, I want a Harlequin Great Dane! Cats get plenty of lap time. I can harness equines and lead them, unless they're pastured (I never ride without explicit permission). I also send pictures of your pets to you frequently, so you will feel secure in their happiness and health! I can easily learn about the care of any animal, and love them all!

I have experience taking care of "special needs" animals with quirky attitudes and daily medicine. Having had two Dalmatians, a breed which has protein restrictions due to potential kidney stones, I always cooked for them! We both enjoyed a vegetarian diet (except Chai got to eat fish!). I have studied dog obedience training and behavior, though I am not expert. During one pet sitting job, I took care of a bipolar cat on meds. At another housesit/pet sit, I cared for 4 horses, 2 ponies (one on meds), 12 chickens, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a 1/4 acre vegetable/flower garden on a hundred acre ranch. I also cared for a home with 8 dogs (1 blind, 1 crippled, 1 semi-feral). I love animals!!

I tend toward the "OCD" side of organization and cleanliness, so you can expect your home to look the same or better upon your return! Not only that, but being born and raised in Texas, I was inculcated with manners, hospitality, and respect for others. I don't mind rural or isolated areas as I like to walk or bicycle, happily plodding into town for food every few days. But I must have internet access! :-) I am comfortable hailing a ride with passersby into a local village, walking, cycling, or riding a scooter/motorcycle (have ridden motorcycles for 20+ yrs.). If I'm within a few km of a local village, I don't mind walking. I can also rent a scooter or motorcycle, depending on local laws. I prefer not to rent a car unless I absolutely must; although this topic would be a great discussion point if your property is extremely rural or snowbound. I am realistic and flexible!

I love to explore new environments, hike around, or sit in a coffee shop. I enjoy the beach and the mountains.

If you have any questions, please ask! I look forward to visiting your area and caring for your animals, plants, and home!

Sincerely, Gina

Julie

Hi, my name is Julie. I am a happy, healthy semi-retired animal lover, who is mature and reliable. I own a small business that I run from my desktop. As a house sitter, this means that I can provide a constant presence to watch over your home and give your pets the same company, care and attention that you would yourself. I am available to sit right across Australia.

In addition to running my own small business, I have also managed a faculty across three campuses and been a busy travel agent and tour guide in my working life. Employers have entrusted me with valuable assets, large sums of money and the well-being of other people. I am reliable, trustworthy and well organised; mature but young at heart.

At home, I keep a very tidy house. I actually enjoy the comfortable routines of housekeeping and seeing the house look as neat as a pin. I never move anything, I am very respectful of a homeowner's space. When you return, you'll find everything just as you left it.

In addition to taking good care of home and beloved pets, I am happy to look after mail, provide regular updates and all the other things that will give you peace of mind while you are away. I keep in touch regularly by sending messages and pics of your little ones, as any of my referees will attest. I love gardening, am handy with a mower and all the day to day maintenance needed to keep outdoor areas looking great.

I am free to travel on flexible dates and take up long or short assignments.
I am health conscious without being obsessive, enjoy exercise and am a non smoker.
I have a police check and references. You will be able to call and verify references. These contacts can be provided on request.

"Julie looked after our house, our old blue heeler, our cat and 3 chooks for around two weeks whilst we were overseas in March 2015. We came home to a lovely clean house and very happy and well looked after pets. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Julie and would certainly love her to look after our house again" - Sharon Vincent Batemans Bay NSW 2536

I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy. My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything. I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements. I do have references on this site, from previous happy pet owners. Hope we can assist each other ..

Two very quiet mature non smoking, non party, women who love classical music. We have been house sitters over the years and locum managers for B&Bs, self catering cottages and small farms. We would now like to pet/house sit for others. as after lots of travelling during which we have had special people look after our beloved boy who sadly has gone where good pets go when it is their time for peace, we would now like to help others to enjoy their travels. References can be supplied, and our police check is up to date, we are on the committee for our hospital which includes the aged care residential home.
Do you need us? We would be very pleased to help you enjoy your adventures.

I'm a mature aged, non-smoking female who has chosen to housesit as an alternative to renting. I've been housesitting since September 2011 and I really enjoy the lifestyle. House-sitting is a great way to save money until I can afford a place of my own, plus I enjoy experiencing different places. I love animals (was raised on a dairy farm), and am experienced in dealing with all their cute little quirks (and messes!) and providing a load of pats and affection if required. However, having a pet is not a requirement for me to house-sit.
I keep the homes I house-sit for in good condition and am very respectful of the homes I care for.. Owners have been very happy with the condition I leave their homes, gardens and pets in and I've had many return house-sits and referrals as a result. Any tasks that need to be done in your absence - like mail collection and putting out the bins - are part and parcel of the house-sitting lifestyle and I'm happy to do them for you.
I work at home part time for a super company and I also do some writing so I spend much of my time working on my computer. The good news for you is I'll be around to keep your pets company and hold down the forte, so your pets will be well looked after and your home will be well attended. I enjoy my own company and peace and quite around the house. When I'm at home it's just me, so you can rest assured that there won't be a continual procession of visitors stampeding through your home. Of course, I can go on about how responsible, reliable and trustworthy I am....but why not get in contact with me so you can decide for yourself. I have great referrences and a police check...what more can you ask for in a sitter?

Hello Fur Baby Parents,

My name is Gerri. I am a single lady who would love to take great care of your home, garden and fur babies while you have a well deserved break.

I have plenty of house sitting experience and taken care of many cats, dogs (large and small) and fish, along with gardens and indoor plants. I have no pets at the moment but I grew up with several dogs, cats and chickens.

I am a non-smoker and have no dependants in Canberra. I am mature, responsible and in full time employment.

I will treat your baby as if it was my own but also collect mail, organise bins, mow lawns and maintain gardens. Providing your want contact, I am happy to maintain regular communication while you are away- photo's included.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Active, healthy non smoking couple - social drinkers only - aged 69. Self employed prior to retiring with a background in family farming followed by tourism when we owned and ran holiday accommodation for ten years where cleanliness was of prime importance. Our business consisted of 10 cottages and 3 acres of grounds and garden which we maintained ourselves.

Wide interests including interior decorating, gardening, reading, music, natural history, bush walking, travel, and how life ticks in general! Since retiring, we are keen to see more of our great country and would love to come to your part of the world and would consider it a privilege to care for your home.

What we offer:
Lifelong experience with and love of all animals. We have always had a variety of pets as well as caring for the farm animals. Enjoy gardening and happy to care for your garden as well as pets. Experienced in general repairs and maintenance if the necessity arises.
Having always owned our own home (except for renting for 15 months following the sale of our business and whilst considering our options), we understand the importance of having someone trustworthy and reliable to care for and maintain and care for your home and pets. We have now been house sitting for over 6 years and looked after 50 homes and various animals.

Happy to provide references and Police clearance.

Having travelled extensively, we have house, farm and boat sat around the world for years. This has included large and small animal care, from horses to mice and almost everything in-between. Both of us are animal lovers and are experienced horse riders and sailors and my husband, a ‘green-fingered’ gardener.

We intend travelling up / down the eastern side of Australia from Melbourne to northern QLD and back (x2) from Jan 2020 to Dec 2022 starting in Melbourne in early Jan 2020.

Our time, therefore, is highly flexible and we are prepared to house / farm / equine establishment /pet /livestock sit for both short and long stays.

We are house proud and you can be assured that we will care for your home, garden and pets / horses or other livestock accordingly. We are more than happy to lunge your horses or groom them and / or your dog / cat etc. while you are away as well as administer medicines etc if needed, take them on walks and of course, provide lots of love, Plus water your garden or indoor plants, ensuring they are still flourishing on your return.

We have a long list of references (all readily contactable) listed here as well as on request if more are required.

We are a close knit, fun loving little family of 3. Myself, Ngaire, I'm an Osteopath and own my business so need only be in the clinic 1 day a week, or sometimes not at all, and the rest of the time I can work from home. My husband, Adam, who works for a pharmaceutical company, and our 5 year old daughter Maeve, who just loves life, people, nature and animals.

In March 2018 we took off on an adventure around Australia for 6months, however we decided to rent our Essendon home out before then, and house sit full time for 7 months. Initially we thought we would return to our Essendon home following our trip, but we fell in love with house sitting! Meeting some wonderful people and forming great bonds with pets was a bonus we hadn't anticipated, and so we have chosen to continue house sitting indefinitely. We are non smokers, who take pride in our home and possessions, and care for anyone else's home like we would our own. We understand how it feels to trust someone else with your home and pets, and we take the responsibility seriously.

We are happy to care for your home, keep it neat and clean, do extra little jobs and you can trust that your house will be in the same great condition you left it upon your return. We love to explore as a family, and enjoy walking dogs or taking them out and about. We would be pleased to care for any animal in whatever they need.

Maeve is a gentle and kind 5year old who understands appropriate behaviour with pets of all types, and is very used to the house sitting lifestyle and the behaviour that is required. Obviously, we need to care only for animals who are comfortable with children, so that we make sure she is safe. She also understands caring for other people's property and is no problem in a home that hasn't been "child proofed". You won't even notice she has been there!

Previous house sitting roles have involved us caring for 3 dogs at a time, 4 cats and multiple fish in one house in the heat of summer. We are up to the challenge! We are also fine, with just a small dog who loves a cuddle, we are pretty flexible! Our experience also extends to chooks, rabbits and turtles.

We have looked after a number of homes with both pools and spas and are happy to maintain these for you with appropriate instruction for your specific requirements. Maeve is a very strong swimmer for her age, being used to both pools and and the ocean. Although we of course supervise her at all times, we have no concerns about her in a property with a pool.

As a family we love spending time exploring new places, having coffee with friends and just being together. We get out and about but also enjoy time at home so your pets would have company too. We love spending time at the beach, or catching the train to the city for an explore, and of course if there is a great park around, we love a play! We are a footy loving family, though we don't agree on our teams ;-).

We would love to hear from anyone looking for down to earth, relaxed but hard working people to care for your house or pets. We are open minded for any types of property.

We have police checks and references available (you will find many attached to our profile). Please feel free to contact us with any questions at all that you may have. We are so excited for the next chapter and the variety that house sitting brings and look forward to hearing from you!

We have recently returned to Australia after a long career in education in the United States. We have been housesitting in various locations in Australia while we decide where in Oz we'd like to settle permanently. In addition to housesitting in Australia, we had our own pets in the U.S., and looked after our neighbors' homes, plants, and pets while they were out of town over the years. Our acre property in the U.S. was in the high desert, and had a swimming pool, so we understand the maintenance involved. We would strongly prefer to be near public transport as we do not yet own a car in Australia. We have a quiet lifestyle, and will treat your home and pets with care and respect. References and police reports are available.

The Empty Nesters
Now that we have retired, and our kids have scatter to as far afield as Europe, we are bravely looking forward to a freer lifestyle. Though we do miss Coco, our recently departed Maltese Terrier x Shih Tzu, and Zutch the Bernese Mountain super Dog! So being able to care for your best friend would be an absolute pleasure. We have also owned cats, chickens, ducks, rabbits and sheep, as well as being host to a resident platypus and many wild birds.
We have owned several homes over the years, including a 5ha hobby farm in Tasmania, and have had cause to use house sitters ourselves ; with mixed results. So, we know what it’s like to trust your home and beloved pets to others while you are away. We are a houseproud couple, and when we had to be away, we expected to return to a house in same order as it was left. Therefore, Peter and I intend to extend to you the same courtesy to you after we have been entrusted with minding your home.
As a couple, you can be assured that both inside and out will be taken cared of and your pets/live stock will receive ample love and attention. We also want to reassure you that, having travelled extensively and experienced flight delays and cancelations etc., if for some reason you are delayed and can’t make it back on time, we will never abandon your home and pets. If we have another commitment elsewhere, I will stay on for as long as needed and Peter will go ahead of me. All I would ask is for a lift to the nearest railway or bus station on your return.
Having just recently embarked on our change of lifestyle, we have yet to build a reference portfolio on housesitting, however, during our travels we have been awarded a five-star rating by the hosts on Airbnb in all the categories they rate their guests. Similarly, our application for reports from the NSW Police have yet to be returned but feel assured that within 2 to 3 weeks we will have them available for your inspection.
With the maturity and experience that comes from raising a family along with various pets, you can be assured that if any problem did arise while you were away, it will be dealt with in a calm and sensible manner.
Kind regards,
Ann and Peter
