I HAVE BEEN BOOKED UNTIL JAN 13.
Hello, I am a retired primary teacher. I have a current police check and am experienced at house-minding. I think you will be reassured by my references; these I am happy to email to you. I am a non-smoker. I am used to dogs and cats and fully appreciate that you would want first class minding of your pets. Through this site, over the years, I have minded about 12 homes, some repeat visits. If I mind your home you can be assured that it will be properly cared for.

Lucy c
I have known Mr George Carlyle for many years. During that time I have called upon George to look after my house and garden during my trips interstate or overseas on a number of occasions. George has always been reliable, trustworthy and looked after my place/s very well. I have no hesitation in recommending him to others who need someone to fulfil other such roles, and would be happy to verify my experiences with him as house-sitter and garden carer.
I have also referred him to friends of mine (in Northcote and for a three-month stint in France where pets were cared for as well). All reported being very satisfied with George's involvement.

21 Showers Street
Preston, Vic 3072
To whom it may concern,
I have known George Carlyle for the past six years and felt confident to ask him to look after my property last year. My wife and I travelled overseas for three months and were keen to get someone in to look after the place. We asked George because of his responsible and sensible manner.
I have absolutely no hesitations in recommending George as a house /home sitter as he looked after our place brilliantly which made our trip all the more enjoyable.
Yours Sincerely
Marty F

To Whom it may concern.
I have known George Carlyle for about 30 years. In this time George has always been a person with high standards with a genuine concern for community. George has always shown great respect to any items that he owns or have been left in his care. I feel sure this would be equally reflected in any property that was placed in his possession. As the owner of a beachside property, I have no hesitation in allowing George full, and unlimited access whenever it is available. And have always found it to be left in excellent condition. I have absolutely no hesitation in putting my name forward as a reference in George’s search for house, and honestly believe that any landlord could not get a better tenant.

Hello! We are a young, married couple who would love to take great care of your home, garden and pets.

We have plenty of house sitting experience and have taken care of cats, dogs (large and small), fish and friendly magpies along with gardens and indoor plants. We have no pets at the moment but both grew up with cats and dogs for many years and love getting out and about for walks.

We have full-time, ongoing employment in Canberra so can comfortably commit to your time frame. We are also flexible - Josh (34) is a public servant and often starts late, while Ange (31) is a teacher and gets home early - so we'll have plenty of time to give your pets and garden attention.

We are non-smokers and have no children. We are mature, responsible and tidy, and will maintain excellent communication with you while you're away.

Written references, police checks and house sitting/rental history available on request.

I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy. My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything. I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements. I do have references on this site, from previous happy pet owners. Hope we can assist each other .

Hello, my 2 daughters (17 & 20) and myself are looking to house-sit for 3 to 6 days during the period 28th Dec to 18th Jan 2018. We would love to have a small family holiday together but being a single parent it is hard to find the funds to cover accommodations so thought house sitting would be ideal, we can help someone who needs to go away by looking after their place & pets whilst having a holiday ourselves.

We are all pet lovers & happy to care for your fur babies, garden & house. My eldest daughter will be going into her 3rd year of Animal Science at Uni & has house sat before for a family with 3 dogs. My youngest daughter has a German Shepherd X Husky dog, tabby cat & guinea kids as well. I’ve grown up with dogs ranging from Chihuahua to Jack Russell to Blue & Red Healer to Great Dane so we know how important your pet is to you.

As we are not looking to do this often I don’t have any references to offer up but can tell you that we are a non-smoking family who respect other people’s property & values and will leave your house neat and tidy as we found it.

Hi
Im retired(well as retired as I can get) Im presently living in Thailand volunteer teaching english and organics.
I have to return to Australia for 2 years to make my pension portable and cant afford to live there paying rent while doing so, house sitting seems a good alternative.
I have never house sat before(unless house sitting for my wife, we have been separated for 4 years I sat for her in Sept while she went on a cruise and small trip in America).
I have had cats and dogs nearly all my life, even now in Thailand I have a couple of dogs in my Soi(street) who wait for me to comeback from my walk for a scratch and rub.
I have had many homes during my 66 years and have taken good care of them all, mine that I owned or rented while in the RAAF for 20 years.
I dont smoke and drink very little if at all(unless after a hard days work I may have a bottle). A tidy and clean person, the RAAF taught me these. I walk at least 5 klms each morning rain willing, I have been involved with sporting clubs most of my life and like watching local Rugby League when I can.
I cannot supply references at this time(unless my wife counts as she said she can supply me one), but will Im sure be able after my first house sit.

Hi, my name is Julie. I am a happy, healthy semi-retired animal lover, who is mature and reliable. I own a small business that I run from my desktop. As a house sitter, this means that I can provide a constant presence to watch over your home and give your pets the same company, care and attention that you would yourself. I am available to sit right across Australia.

In addition to running my own small business, I have also managed a faculty across three campuses and been a busy travel agent and tour guide in my working life. Employers have entrusted me with valuable assets, large sums of money and the well-being of other people. I am reliable, trustworthy and well organised; mature but young at heart.

At home, I keep a very tidy house. I actually enjoy the comfortable routines of housekeeping and seeing the house look as neat as a pin. I never move anything, I am very respectful of a homeowner's space. When you return, you'll find everything just as you left it.

In addition to taking good care of home and beloved pets, I am happy to look after mail, provide regular updates and all the other things that will give you peace of mind while you are away. I keep in touch regularly by sending messages and pics of your little ones, as any of my referees will attest. I love gardening, am handy with a mower and all the day to day maintenance needed to keep outdoor areas looking great.

I am free to travel on flexible dates and take up long or short assignments.
I am health conscious without being obsessive, enjoy exercise and am a non smoker.
I have a police check and references. You will be able to call and verify references. These contacts can be provided on request.

"Julie looked after our house, our old blue heeler, our cat and 3 chooks for around two weeks whilst we were overseas in March 2015. We came home to a lovely clean house and very happy and well looked after pets. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Julie and would certainly love her to look after our house again" - Sharon Vincent Batemans Bay NSW 2536

(Updated 18/9/18) All Canberra, ACT locations considered >

I am a mature, female IT contractor working in Canberra since May 2015 and located in Canberra.  I have a home in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs minded by my son and his girlfriend who love and adore our two rescue cats - a gorgeous ginger cat called Mr Boots and his partner in crime, (Princess) Cienna!

With employment in Canberra, I have found house-sitting to be a convenient way to relax, enjoy the company of a surrogate animal (cats preferred but will mind a dog!), look after a home while owners travel and provide a peaceful break from other temporary accommodation options. Another house-sitting website has references from completed housesits as well as an independent character reference (You are free to view via this link (https://www.trustedhousesitters.com/house-and-pet-sitters/australia/victoria/mont-albert-north/)

My employment in Federal government departments has required a baseline clearance which involved a police check however I have a long history of successful housesits and caring for dogs and cats since 2015.  Many of my housesits now, are return requests or through referrals in my network.

All I need are simple instructions for your accommodation and contact points for managing any issues or if care is needed for any animals – you can be assured I will provide exemplary care and consideration to home and animals.  Many of my housesit contacts are now friends and willingly contact me to return.  On occasion, I have helped out by dropping in to feed animals for my housesit network if I am already committed to another housesit and cannot stay.

My personal qualities can be summarised as an independent nature, considerate, capable, very clean, tidy, a non-smoker, a virtually non-drinker (occasional glass of wine, only) who loves animals and will care and pamper your cats!  I’m a cat owner – I know how spoilt they can and should be! I have looked after dogs as well and happily take them out for a walk. Some of my housesits have said their animals have actually missed me!  That’s a pretty good referral.

All I need from you is a key handover (haven’t lost a key yet!) and written instructions outlining any special requirements such as bin night, watering, alarm systems, etc.  I don't need to use your car - but happy to start it up or drive around the block so the battery doesn't go flat.

Other than that, you do not need to worry about anything while you travel secure in the knowledge that property and animals will be looked after.

Please feel free to contact me and chat. I would love to meet you and look after your animal/s and home! See if we can work something out.

Here's my suite of successful housesits:

Hi, mature retired female Freelance Photographer of people and thousands of children over an 18 year period. Independent experienced housesitter for a total of 14 and a half years, 95% word of mouth. The 13 and half years were between 1996 to 2002 and 2009 until now 2018 caring for much loved and adored fur family pets and homes and at one time, two teenagers. A change in direction with business, and wishing to travel again led me into seeking housesitting positions for the second time. Based on the Northern Beaches for years, references are available for previous house sittings and present ones. Because the vast majority of my house sittings are word of mouth interested persons do not need a written reference, however, through the agency, I do have written references that can be sent to you (I have yet to upload more references to my page yet) and of course you do have permission to phone check any of the references and the homeowners will be glad to talk to you. I love people but I require quiet time alone with animals for company, I am very much an animal person and my top priority is to keep all animals happy and care for your home to the best of my ability. In my personal life, I spend many hours on my laptop, I have my own travelling mini modem, therefore, your pets have my company nearly all of the time. I am not a party person, good friends live in various parts of Australia so I usually go to see them whenever I have free time I have lived with many big dogs, Great Danes and German Shepherds and Labradors, Cats with amazing personalities, a Snake, Horses and a Lamb and pet Chickens. And wild Birds seem to like me. Being patient, responsible and highly respectful of other people,s privacy and property, I would be more than happy to be there for you if you need me. My housesitting at present takes me to the Central Coast and the Blue Mountains and Sydney's North Shore. I have gone further out of that area so I will consider further North or South of NSW. Interstate I will consider also. Clean and tidy, leaving your house as you would like to find it. I am a non-drinker. Excellent References are supplied. I mow lawns when necessary and water pot plants and gardens. I look forward to hearing from you, Kind Regards Jaime.

Hi I'm Lane.

I'm a quiet, considerate, creative type who loves running, writing, mindfulness, and minimalism. I have a reliable, new car and I love road-trips near or far. I'm a healthy, single, non-smoker and a quiet, clean house sitter. I'm a relaxed soul with high emotional intelligence and I'm a born-and-bred animal lover — dogs, cats, goats, chooks, and more.

I was raised country-style — on dirt roads and tank water, with ticks, leeches, and acres and acres of freedom — so I'm competent and well versed in country life. These days I have my own digital creative business which affords me the luxury of working from where ever I choose. So I'm not a house-sitter who's looking for a free roof; I'm a self-sufficient soul looking to experience life in lots of locations and to meet lots of people along the way. I only need Internet to work and I bring my own if required. I love running through the mountains, along trails, and beachside so locales like these are bonuses for me.

Bonuses for you is that I work from "home" so I'm always on-hand and ready to deal with any situations that might arise at your home. After-all your home is my home while you're away, and I take that responsibility very seriously.

Feel free to call, text, or email me anytime.

Always,
Lane

** Next available from December 2017. **

Hello.

I am a tidy non-smoking animal-loving lady in my 40's with no children or pets of my own and work from home wherever I am as a management and communication professional.

I'd be delighted to tend to your animal family, home and garden in exchange for a new living experience, and am also available to help out with your home and/or small business administration and management to keep things running smoothly in your absence if you could use a little extra support.

I care a lot about the environment I live in and like to keep it (and everyone in it!) happy, clean and well-tended because it makes us feel really good. Fortunately home owners appreciate this about me. :-)

If you like keeping up to date, I offer a weekly update complete with email summary of animal, home and garden news; scans of your postal mail; shopping receipts for any household purchases I've made on your behalf; and photos of the things that matter most to you. I understand though if you'd prefer to leave it all behind, and am equally happy to update you only when you contact me.

If you have pets and they need company during the day they will appreciate me: I work from home, find it hard to resist regular affection, and like to get out daily for a walk to nearby parks and beaches.

I've been an active host of international travellers via the global Couchsurfing network and loved the opportunity to develop new friendships and share a home and local knowledge with others seeking to live as locals in new areas. A link to the very positive hosting references is available on request.

~*~ Why I am house sitting. ~*~

It only occurred to me recently after 18 years of busy professional life in Sydney, Australia, that I now have employment that is essentially location independent.

It took a bit of mental adjustment to realise that I didn't need to keep living in the same place in order to do what I do, and then another mental leap to realise that I may even be able to travel (adventure!) more broadly. Especially as internet quality gets better and better, it seems there is really very little keeping me from exploring many new and wonderful areas and meeting many new and wonderful people and animals.

My entire work-life is online as a not for profit community and membership manager, conference director and communication producer/director.

Although I am essentially a tidy, quiet, hard-working homebody, I realised it didn't necessarily need to be *my* home that I am working from. This inspiration received in large part with the help of the Ultimate Housesitting Guide.

Travelling to different areas and living like locals (slow travel) is really hard to beat, and housesitting provides the best of both worlds.

I am organised, tidy, responsible, trustworthy and like check-lists and learning new things. At my first house sit the happy returning home owner exclaimed "you are MORE than trustworthy!" and immediately asked us to do another long term sit for her during her next planned vacation, and we were invited back again next year for the following sit too.

The main thing is that it has to feel like a good fit for you and for me because I enjoy open communication and win/win experiences.

~*~ What I bring to the assignment / relevant experience. ~*~

Apart from being tidy, organised and responsible with a love of maintaining homes and gardens to a high standard, I tend to become firm friends with the animals I meet on my travels.

When catching up for coffee with a recent returning home owner she mentioned that the animals (a cuddly cat and loving groodle) were the happiest she'd seen when she returned home. At the sit before that we were advised that it was not at all common for their cat to bond so well with her sitters over the past 13+ years, so much so that she ran to greet us when we came to visit.

House sitting is a fun way for me to make new furry and feathered friends as I explore new places. I love animals of all kinds and grew up with many, in both suburban and country homes and it *totally* makes sense to me that pets prefer to stay home where they are comfortable than go away when their family travels.

I've grown up with family cats, dogs, birds, fish, mice and various farm animals as best friends, in city and country, and am comfortable just about anywhere from city to beach, rural and remote.

My family and household dogs have included black labrador, alaskan malamute, red kelpie, miniature schnauzer, staffordshire terrier, standard poodle, weimaraner, german shepherd and rottweiler breeds. Recently I've also had the pleasure to become acquainted with 3 corgis, a beagle, scottish terrier, groodle, standard schnauzer, airedale, maltese terrier and a host of others! I love all breeds and individual animals for their various unique personality traits.

As well as a weekend with two fabulous cats in Lisarow (NSW) in 2015 we were fortunate to do a longer term cool cat house sit in Umina Beach, Central Coast (NSW); be the fortunate friends and companions to 3 very bright Corgis and a gorgeous garden in Lyons (ACT) for 3 months; were taken care of by a super cute beagle & scottie dog duo in Watson (ACT) for almost 3 months taking us into the new year; then 2+ months on a hillside in Fadden (ACT) with the lady of the house (an elegant and eloquent black cat) followed by 3 weeks with the most snuggly Groodle and cat in Hughes (ACT) followed by 4 months in a country home in Bowral (NSW) with the girls: 2 cats (a Persian & an Australian mist) and 5 chatty hens. We were then kept company in Fisher (ACT) by a charming airedale schnauzer duo before landing in Port Stephens (NSW) to care for a playful maltese terrier with a very good haircut. Then it was back to Bowral to act as summer staff to two very regal and beautiful cats, down the road to Moss Vale to care for a cat queen, and to another Moss Vale home with the furry trio: 2 dogs and a hold-her-own cat who was only recently a kitten.

I get along with less domesticated animals too (one of my photos shows Kali having brekky with a local lorrikeet) and completed the WIRES Rescue & Immediate Care Course in 2015.

If you like keeping up to date, you'll love my (entirely optional) weekly email news including mail scans, and photos.

In short, I like taking care of things.

References and police checks available on request.

Hello. I am a retired senior federal public servant, mature (sadly!), married woman looking to do some house sitting. I live with my husband in our own home on the Gold Coast and we currently have a dog and a cat. I am an experienced "pet" person, having had all manor of animals in my home, from mice, birds, fish to cats and dogs. Our own dog (a kelpie) is currently 7 years old and a very crazy young thing, needing lots and lots of exercise. He was supposed to be an outside dog, but somehow that rule hasn't been fully applied! Our cat is almost 4 and is very much busy with chasing the dog around. I am able to garden, clean the pool, look after the house and pets. I am a non smoker. Though I plan to "house sit" usually by myself, there would be times when my husband would join me for a short break. We are both thoroughly house trained! We are planning to formally retire in a few years and I feel that house sitting in different places would help me to get a feel for various districts by living like a local, rather than as a tourist. I am most happy to look after pets and would look after your home well. I have now done many house sits (and many return sits) and can forward names and contact details for these house owners as references. I have a written personal character reference that I can send on to you as well. Hopefully all will tell you how wonderful I am. Oh, and also that I am honest, reliable and trustworthy. You can email me on eevahelena@yahoo.com.au anytime. My preference is for short breaks, up to three weeks or so, and around the ACT or anywhere in NSW. Thanks. Eeva

Ngaire & Adam

  • ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC, WA

We are a close knit, fun loving little family of 3. Myself, Ngaire, I'm an Osteopath and own my business so need only be in the clinic 1 day a week, or sometimes not at all, and the rest of the time I can work from home. My husband, Adam, who works for a pharmaceutical company, and our 5 year old daughter Maeve, who just loves life, people, nature and animals.

In March 2018 we took off on an adventure around Australia for 6months, however we decided to rent our Essendon home out before then, and house sit full time for 7 months. Initially we thought we would return to our Essendon home following our trip, but we fell in love with house sitting! Meeting some wonderful people and forming great bonds with pets was a bonus we hadn't anticipated, and so we have chosen to continue house sitting indefinitely. We are non smokers, who take pride in our home and possessions, and care for anyone else's home like we would our own. We understand how it feels to trust someone else with your home and pets, and we take the responsibility seriously.

We are happy to care for your home, keep it neat and clean, do extra little jobs and you can trust that your house will be in the same great condition you left it upon your return. We love to explore as a family, and enjoy walking dogs or taking them out and about. We would be pleased to care for any animal in whatever they need.

Maeve is a gentle and kind 5year old who understands appropriate behaviour with pets of all types, and is very used to the house sitting lifestyle and the behaviour that is required. Obviously, we need to care only for animals who are comfortable with children, so that we make sure she is safe. She also understands caring for other people's property and is no problem in a home that hasn't been "child proofed". You won't even notice she has been there!

Previous house sitting roles have involved us caring for 3 dogs at a time, 4 cats and multiple fish in one house in the heat of summer. We are up to the challenge! We are also fine, with just a small dog who loves a cuddle, we are pretty flexible! Our experience also extends to chooks, rabbits and turtles.

We have looked after a number of homes with both pools and spas and are happy to maintain these for you with appropriate instruction for your specific requirements. Maeve is a very strong swimmer for her age, being used to both pools and and the ocean. Although we of course supervise her at all times, we have no concerns about her in a property with a pool.

As a family we love spending time exploring new places, having coffee with friends and just being together. We get out and about but also enjoy time at home so your pets would have company too. We love spending time at the beach, or catching the train to the city for an explore, and of course if there is a great park around, we love a play! We are a footy loving family, though we don't agree on our teams ;-).

We would love to hear from anyone looking for down to earth, relaxed but hard working people to care for your house or pets. We are open minded for any types of property.

We have police checks and references available (you will find many attached to our profile). Please feel free to contact us with any questions at all that you may have. We are so excited for the next chapter and the variety that house sitting brings and look forward to hearing from you!

I am a single, 61 year old, retired former public servant. I am financially secure, well educated and well travelled.
I try to run my life simple, peaceful and close to nature. I am a meditator and I practise yoga daily. I am very tidy and keep my surrounds clean and uncluttered. I clean the house I live in chemicals free as much as possible. I do nor smoke or drink, I do not gamble and I eat healthy and organic food.
I like gardening and growing my own vegetables. I find these activities very rewarding as well as therapeutic.
I like animals especially cats, which I find serene and independent and dogs for their fondness of humans. I enjoy relating and caring for them. In my younger days I spent time on farms in Poland and enjoyed a lot of interaction with other domesticated animals.
Following the sale of my last house in Suffolk Park in 2016 I have moved to house sitting.  So far I have looked after a variety of properties and animals: dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, fish, turtles, lorrikeets, cockatiels, goats, cattle, sheep, horses, alpacas and donkeys.
House sitting has been a wonderful and rewarding experience. It is a great way to see new parts of Australia and to give the owners freedom to travel by taking good care of their places. All my references show that my hosts were very happy with my sits.

We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple.

We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.

Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia.
We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years!
We have, of course got references and a police check.

We have just ( April ) booked to visit our daughter in Sydney and will be there from the 9th Nov to 11th Dec in rented accommodation.

We will now not be in Australia before then but will be available from Dec 11th in the run up to, and over the Xmas period

My wife and I own and operate an online business, established almost 8 years ago. The majority of our customers are world wide. As a result, we are permanent travelers, but need to be in Australia to visit with grand kids and assorted family! We are animal lovers, and recently gave away 2 fabulous cats to a good home. (Normally our sons look after the cats, but they all recently left the family home in New Zealand!) We now have good experience in house sitting, we are very responsible people, and would treat your home as we would ours, and the animals and garden would be treated the same. My wife is extremely house proud, and loves to potter about in the garden . She is an extremely organised person and she looks after the house and me very well! Kays Dad was in the 2000 Queens Honors List in New Zealand (R. J. SHARP ONZM, For services to Dairying), because he invented the herringbone milking shed in New Zealand in 1952. Only took 48 years to get recognised. We can provide good personal references. We are non smokers. Broadband or good internet access would be needed.

Hello,

We are a non-smoking, mature aged couple who will look after your home and pets as if they were your own. We are willing to travel to most areas of Australia. At the moment we are looking for a house-sit in NSW, Victoria or Q'ld, but are willing to consider/travel other states. We are experienced house sitters, having done many sits over recent years including many return requests.

Our reasons for house sitting are simple. It gives us the opportunity of seeing different parts of this beautiful country, and it also to gives us the opportunity to provide the home owner with peace of mind that their home and animal/s will be extremely well cared for, should we be granted that privilege.

We take pride in what we do, being both neat and tidy. We enjoy a quiet life, are very capable, employ common sense and take care of things the way we would hope some-one would do for us.

We have cared for many different animals, cats (many varieties including Ragdoll, Himalayan, Russian Blue, Birman, Burmese, Siamese, much loved long haired and short haired moggies, all with different personalities and requirements, some indoor only felines), a few dogs both small and large, fish, chickens and cows a herd of 20+. In recent times we can add sheep and goats. We have looked after suburban properties and rural/semi-rural with water tanks and septic systems, pumps and bio-cycles.

We can provide excellent references upon request. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

I love animals, am considerate, quiet and very reliable. Love to roam and take pictures and feel at home in both urban and country environments.

I have been running Airbnb properties for the past seven years, mostly as a 'superhost' so am clean and responsible around the house, and enjoy meeting new people from everywhere.

House sitting is new to me but care of animals and gardens is not. I have experience with most animals including dogs, cats, horses and wilderness wildlife.

I am hoping to find a long term house sit, but will consider short sits if I am in the area.

We are experienced Aussie housesitters, retired accountant and agricultural scientist, grey nomads, non smokers, and both dog and cat lovers, having owned our own pets all our lives, and looked after numerous and various animals as housesitters for other homeowners, like yourselves. My husband and I were introduced to the concept of housesitting when we retired in July 2005. Since then, we have combined travel with housesitting in Australia, New Zealand, England and Europe and made lifelong friends along the way. So far, we have undertaken 120+ housesits over the past 13 years since retiring from full time employment. For ourselves during the course of our life, we have owned large dogs; boxers and german shepherds – all obedience trained - also cats, fish and poultry. We both retired from our jobs in the Northern Territory and sold our home, with a swimming pool, owned for 20 years. We plan on continuing to travel whilst we are healthy and until we get the travel bug out of our system. Our motto is to treat your home and pets as we would expect our own home and pets to be treated - with respect, love and care.
I was born and bred on a farm in South Australia, lived there for 21 years before moving to the Northern Territory, where my working life continued as an accountant. My husband is a Queenslander, and worked as an agricultural scientist in 2 Australian states, during the course of his working career.
We can provide written references, photos and police clearances, if you require further info. – but basically, we are just ‘grey nomads’ – enjoying retirement and travelling around England, Europe and Australia whilst we still have our health and are able to travel. Thanks for your time

Hi, My name is Derek. I'm 62, single and this is my fourth year house sitting. I'm currently in Perth looking after a renovated older house, garden and pool, and for the first time, no pet/s to mind and enjoy the company of.

I thought house sitting would be a great way to get to see and know more of Australia and Australians. The home owners, pets, locals, culture and geography I'm meeting continue to supply a wealth of positive experiences. It's also a pleasure to be able to help people get away in the knowledge their homes and pets are in safe, committed hands.

Skills under my belt include gardening and house maintenance as well as pool care. I have owned, as well as looked after many pets; being experienced with dogs, cats, birds, chooks, ducks, horses, alpacas, a Shetland pony, poddy calves, fish and bees (a former orchard interest). I am reliable and would keep your pet's established routines as close to normal as possible.

I understand how important peace of mind is with respect to the well being of pets. As such, I keep in regular email contact with home owners regarding pets and always attach pics of their escapades. I also spend the majority of my time around the house and therefore, with your pet/s.

I am also responsible with the care and security necessary to keep a house safe and sound. I drive but don't have a car (environmental); public transport does the job. I live simply via a connection with Buddhist philosophy and practice. I don't drink or smoke. I would consider any location in Australia - city, country town or rural. Longer sits are preferable; 4 weeks plus - but would consider shorter periods depending on location and bookings.

If you think I could be suitable, ring or text if dates fit and I'll get on line and/or phone you. I'll forward references and referee contacts when applying for positions. Thank you for your consideration.

PS Booked over the Xmas period and looking for a sit in WA after March 12th 2019.

I'm a mature aged, non-smoking female who has chosen to housesit as an alternative to renting. I've been housesitting since September 2011 and I really enjoy the lifestyle. House-sitting is a great way to save money until I can afford a place of my own, plus I enjoy experiencing different places. I love animals (was raised on a dairy farm), and am experienced in dealing with all their cute little quirks (and messes!) and providing a load of pats and affection if required. However, having a pet is not a requirement for me to house-sit.
I keep the homes I house-sit for in good condition and am very respectful of the homes I care for.. Owners have been very happy with the condition I leave their homes, gardens and pets in and I've had many return house-sits and referrals as a result. Any tasks that need to be done in your absence - like mail collection and putting out the bins - are part and parcel of the house-sitting lifestyle and I'm happy to do them for you.
I work at home part time for a super company and I also do some writing so I spend much of my time working on my computer. The good news for you is I'll be around to keep your pets company and hold down the forte, so your pets will be well looked after and your home will be well attended. I enjoy my own company and peace and quite around the house. When I'm at home it's just me, so you can rest assured that there won't be a continual procession of visitors stampeding through your home. Of course, I can go on about how responsible, reliable and trustworthy I am....but why not get in contact with me so you can decide for yourself. I have great referrences and a police check...what more can you ask for in a sitter?

Hello My Husband and I are a retired couple that have experience in housesitting we would look after your home as we look after our own and believe that it is very important to leave someones home clean and tidy as we found it. We both love animals and have a dog and cat of our own.If possible we would bring a little tiny Foxy with us if possible if that is a problem We are both non smokers. The reason we wish to housesit in Canberra is that my mother is living in Canberra in a Nursing Home at Weston and we would like to spend more time with her as she is getting elderly
