I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy.
My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything.
I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.
Hope we can assist each other .

Patrick

I currently live and work in Melbourne, living in a share household. I house sit as I also enjoy having time to myself. I also love caring for pets. Over the past years I have sat on many occasions with many homeowners asking me back to sit for them.

I will take really good care of your pets. I genuinely enjoy both cats and dogs. I Like taking dogs for walks and offering lots of affection. Same for cats too...except the walking.

Will also take good care of your property and leave it in an excellent condition.

I have excellent references. A police check. I don't smoke.
I am a friendly respectful guy who is very clean and tidy
Cheers, Patrick

Hi there, I'm a semi retired 50 something male (non smoker) who looks after people's pets and homes. I have had many happy clients, including lots of dogs and cats and horses and cows (see pics); I'm sure their owners are happy too.

I have many references from pet owners who you can speak to; including police personnel, doctors and business owners, so you can check my bona fides.

I have much rural experience and I'm rather handy with tractors, diggers, ride on lawn mowers, chainsaws and the like. Homes in my care have varied from farms to cute cottages to executive palaces and high security homes.

My preferences are northern rivers of NSW / sthn Queensland and the greater Sydney area, and now, Melbourne. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks :)

Available mid November to 24 December and from 14 Feb 2018.

Michelle

  • ACT, NSW, TAS

Dear home owner,
I have enjoyed caring for people's homes and pets for several years.
During that time I have had the pleasure of maintaining landscaped gardens and lawns up to two acres in size.
( Ride-on mower preferred.)

I have experience in caring for a variety of pets and livestock.

Also, I am very experienced with pets that need extra care. EG medications or special care requirements.

Caring for your home and much loved pets is my number one priority.

I am clean and tidy and enjoy living a quiet lifestyle.

Housesitting gives me the opportunity to experience living in interesting and diverse communities.

It also allows me to indulge in my favourite activities, nature photography and bushwalking.

I have very good references and a police clearance check.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards
Michelle

Hi,

I love animals, am considerate, quiet and very reliable. Love to roam and take pictures and feel at home in both urban and country environments.

I have been running Airbnb properties for the past seven years, mostly as a 'superhost' so am clean and responsible around the house, and enjoy meeting new people from everywhere.

House sitting is new to me but care of animals and gardens is not. I have experience with most animals including dogs, cats, horses and wilderness wildlife.

I am hoping to find a long term house sit, but will consider short sits if I am in the area.

Hi Happy House owners,
We are a mature, non smoking couple in our mid 60's, who are honest, trustworthy and reliable.
We are a semi-retired active couple, and Terry works from home 5 days a week, so we are at home most of the day.
We are both very house proud, having built and maintained 3 of our own.
We are both looking forward to experiencing different housesitting locations and looking after your pets and home as if it was our own. We had all sorts of pets while our children were growing up. We are experienced in administering medication, should your pets require it.
It would be our privilege and pleasure to look after your pets and home, and give you peace of mind while you are away.
If you have pets, we would love to take your pets for walks as our form of exercise.
We are both NON SMOKERS and have had our Police checks done which are available to you, if requested. We are a quiet and reliable couple who enjoy our peace and quiet

We reside in a small village in the Lower Hunter Valley.

Also the sit for Andrea and Adam was also a repeat sit, unfortunately for us they have moved interstate.
Our pet sits for Billie and Phillip were repeat sits, which we really enjoyed, and we have another tentative sit with them in May 2017.
On Billie and Phillip's recommendation we also did the sit for Simon and Irene, which is the email attached.

Hi pet lovers and lovely home owners,
We are trustworthy, reliable, caring, friendly & house-proud housesitters.
We will treat your beloved pets & home like they are our own. We are quiet and like to hang out with the animals and rest ...
We are non-smokers and only sit non-smoking homes for health reasons. We prefer secure homes as we need to feel safe and keep your beloved pets safe.
We adore animals & will treat them kindly & with respect. If they have special needs we understand that and can discuss your needs.
We have extensive experience caring for cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, chickens, chicks, some farm animals, birds, fish & gardens. We are happy to consider reptiles (secured where necessary obviously! :-) ) and all other cuddly/crazy critters.
Unfortunately, we can't care for cats anymore (unless they are hairless) as Melissa developed an allergy to cat hair ! :-(
Melissa has a current working with vulnerable people check (full background & police check). Andrew has a current police check & security clearance through his work in the government. We have previous police checks, through Govt careers & neighbourhood watch (Previous NHW Area Coordinators).
Melissa has RSPCA experience where she investigated animal cruelty and helped protect animals in danger. We take the care of animals very seriously, we know how much they are loved and need to be looked after.
Housesitting written reference available and multiple housesitting referees happy to speak with you :-).
**PLEASE READ BELOW RE FAMILY HOUSE-SITS IF YOU PREFER NO CHILDREN**
**Although our children are respectful, love animals and have done many successful house-sits with us, we understand that some people prefer no children. One of us adults are able to do occasional house-sits without the kids, so are available for house-sits which request no children.**
We hope to hear from you.
Warm regards,
Melissa & Andrew

We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple.

We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.

Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia.
We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years!
We have, of course got references and a police check.

Currently we are available for the following period:

Mid-Dec 2017 to mid-Jan 2018 (4/5 weeks) when we will be extending an already planned Oct/Nov visit to our daughter who lives in Sydney. The tickets are booked and paid!

Reference for Lucy and Murray Pollard
Lucy and Murray house-sat our 2 very precious schnoodles for 4 nights recently (July 2015). I couldn’t have asked for better sitters! They visited beforehand to meet our dogs and I immediately felt very comfortable that Lucy and Murray would take great care of our dogs. They were very dedicated to looking after the dogs and respectful of our apartment, leaving it spic and span. Our dogs were very happy in their company as Lucy and Murray happily followed the daily routine we requested, including letting them sleep in their bed with them. I will definitely ask them to sit for us again.

In March 2015 we embarked on a 5 week trip and was looking for someone to housesit and care for our dog and rabbit. Fortunately Lucy & Murray were able to help us out.
Lucy and Murray kept in contact throughout our trip with updates on our elderly dog Hank who required some additional care with medicine. We were very happy to also receive
photos of Murray and Hank together!
The house was left immaculately with not a thing out of place. In fact the only evidence that we found of their stay was some food in the cupboards — they even left the wheelie bin
empty!
Lucy and Murray were fantastic housesitters and we would be more than happy to recommend them to anyone.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

Lucy & Murray of Avalon Sydney NSW were house sitters at my home x 6 weeks September & early October 2015.

I have 4 dogs and it seems, during my absence, they loved them to death ! the dogs totally fell in love with Murray and Murray with the dogs. Although the criteria was to walk the dogs once a day, my neighbours tell me they often saw my sitters walking the dogs twice a day.

On my return, the house was kept in fine order, very tidy and clean and the garden was taken care of also.

I would welcome Lucy and Murray a return house sit here if they were available and would recommend them as reliable dog lovers.

If further information is required please do not hesitate to ask for phone contact number.

We are a professional couple located in Canberra and have previously completed a local house sit in between the sale of our house and the purchase of our new one. We have a seventeen year old daughter who loves school and enjoys part-time work. She is a mature young lady who loves animals of all shapes and sizes. We enjoy meeting and looking after new furry friends during house sits and our daughter currently does this in our home for Don't Fret Pet.

We are clean and tidy non-smokers who respect other peoples property and privacy. Whilst we don't have Happy Housesitters references we are happy to forward both of our work histories which include over two decades service in the AFP and an executive HR management role with a not-for-profit.

Our house sitting interest at the moment is for holiday breaks (either in or out of school holidays) as a family, or sometimes individually as I (Tony) don't work full time. Occasionally I am happy to get away for a break by myself. My wife encourages it;-)

If you are after a small family who will take care of your pets and home as if they were their own then we would love to help.

David and I have been house sitting for over 4 years now and truly love this lifestyle. We have been fortunate enough to be continually on the move over this time and have returned to our first house sit a second time. David and I were original Sydney dwellers for 30 odd years and have always owned our own homes up until 2000. We had a hobby farm in Tasmania for 15 years, with farm animals including sheep, goats, chickens, a horse, dogs and cats. We are familiar with with tank water/ water pumps, wood heaters, septic systems and basic requirements for rural living. Leaving Tasmania in 2000 we rented in Sydney for a couple of years then moved to the Central Tablelands, NSW for 11 years where we rented a cabin on a 90 acre goat farm, whilst we were building. During that time I did volunteer work on a regular basis for 8 years which involved 6 month periods away from home at a time staying with different families every week, so I am very accustomed to living in other peoples' homes. David worked as a full time carpenter in the local area accompanying me regularly on various trips. After leaving the central tablelands we volunteered on a 7 acre retreat centre in Victoria for 7 months maintaining the property and looking after 3 acres of garden. We then moved back to NSW to try our hands at house sitting. I have a background in admin/bookkeeping and David is a carpenter. We are responsible and mature adults and have experienced many different lifestyles including living in Asia and Tibet. We enjoy the experience of new lifestyles/locations and feel that house sitting is a great opportunity for us to do what we love and benefit the home owner as well. We are clean and tidy and are very respectful of other people's homes.

Ideally we would like long term sits of 3-6 months preferably NSW but South East Queensland, ACT and Tasmania would also be happily considered.

Our interests include travelling, walking/hiking and water sports. We are both fit and healthy, don't drink or smoke and enjoy the outdoors. We feel that we are able to fit into a city or rural environment as we have lived in both and would certainly care for your home, garden and pets as if our own.

At present we are enjoying our 17th house sit in India. We have been here for 4 months and will return in September after completing a 5 month house and dog sit.

So far we have cared for 20 dogs, 9 horses, 5 cats, 22 sheep, 15 cows, numerous chooks, tropical fish and 1 bird.

We are more than happy to discuss any house sitting job, answer questions, provide references, police checks, photos etc and anything else to make you feel comfortable and secure that you have chosen the right house sitter.

With kind regards
Susan and David Kirkwood

  • Rest of ACT, Sydney

I've been full-time house sitting since November 2014 and the lifestyle of the urban nomad is suiting me very nicely. 2015 was a full year with 16 different homes around Sydney and 21 different pets. My clients are very happy with my home and pet sitting services and are now repeat clients who refer me to their friends. I have my police check and references and contact phone numbers for my referees are available on request.

I know pets are often called furkids and the comparison between children and pets is the same. Each has its own unique personality and, of course, all with something special to love. Perhaps for me they are like furgrandkids - I get to love and spoil them when I have them and then I can hand them back. (I'm expecting my first real grandchild in April this year 2016!)

A bit about me – I am a mature single professional business woman with a mobile business I can take with me anywhere (I am a life coach and coach by phone/Skype). I hold CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) qualifications. I am well known in the Toastmasters world having earned my Distinguished Toastmaster status and I'm still enjoying developing my communication and leadership skills. I am a non-smoker, houseproud, clean, friendly and tidy.

My preference is for smaller pets, either cats or dogs, birds, fish (no reptiles or rodents please).

If you’d like to meet with me I can be reached on my mobile phone.

I am a single, mature aged, non-smoking gentleman with experience in house and pet sitting.

As a recently retired school teacher, I am looking for an opportunity to extend myself and broaden my travelling experience by living in an area for longer than a fleeting visit as is usually the case when taking a holiday from work.
I enjoy gardening, reading, cooking, walking, and recently, craft creations.

Whilst not having my own pets these days, I have had the rather usual menagerie of a cat, dogs, fish, guinea pigs, white mice and chooks.

I have a reference and photos which are attached.
I look forward to be of assistance.

Regards

Richard

I'm a mature aged, non-smoking female who has chosen to housesit as an alternative to renting. I've been housesitting since September 2011 and I really enjoy the lifestyle. House-sitting is a great way to save money until I can afford a place of my own, plus I enjoy experiencing different places. I love animals (was raised on a dairy farm), and am experienced in dealing with all their cute little quirks (and messes!) and providing a load of pats and affection if required. However, having a pet is not a requirement for me to house-sit.
I keep the homes I house-sit for in good condition and am very respectful of the homes I care for.. Owners have been very happy with the condition I leave their homes, gardens and pets in and I've had many return house-sits and referrals as a result. Any tasks that need to be done in your absence - like mail collection and putting out the bins - are part and parcel of the house-sitting lifestyle and I'm happy to do them for you.
I work at home part time for a super company and I also do some writing so I spend much of my time working on my computer. The good news for you is I'll be around to keep your pets company and hold down the forte, so your pets will be well looked after and your home will be well attended. I enjoy my own company and peace and quite around the house. When I'm at home it's just me, so you can rest assured that there won't be a continual procession of visitors stampeding through your home. Of course, I can go on about how responsible, reliable and trustworthy I am....but why not get in contact with me so you can decide for yourself. I have great referrences and a police check...what more can you ask for in a sitter?

I'm an experienced house sitter and have been house sitting full time now for over 18 months and prior to that at various short term house sits for a couple of years. I have experience with many dogs, small and large and up to 3 at a time, cats, chickens and birds. I enjoy walking the dogs and happy to walk them every day, if required, have also been known to have to walk a cat as well! I have also house sat where I have had to look after a pool and spa and watering of gardens. I also consider myself to be a clean freak and will return your home in the same condition that it was when you left and will look after it as though it was my own. In recent years I have been lucky to do an apartment sit in Hiroshima Japan, and a couple of house sits in NZ. I am a non-smoker and am single and have no pets. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
I have now just completed 6 months of house/dog sitting in Perth Western Australia and Darwin for 2 months and enjoyed every minute of it. I am now heading back south to the Sunshine Coast to where I usually live until the New Year. If you are looking for a house sitter while you have a break over Christmas/new year or school holidays I would love to look after your house and/or pets as though they were my own.

Hi, my name is Jayne. I am 62 and a non smoker. I am conscientious, clean and adore dogs, like cats. I would take the kind of loving care with your home and pets you would take. I walk once or twice a day so dog walking is fun for me and i just love their company. I like watering and gardening and i even love mowing but must admit i can't always get mowers started! I started housesitting in WA about 10 years ago in Perth and Dunsborough for 4 years and have housesat in Queensland, port macquarie and the northern rivers. People have always been happy with the health and happiness of their pets and their house when they have returned home. I have been offered repeat housesits. I have great references. Unfortunately the Happy House Sitters site has dropped my references and when i try to re-upload it doesn't work and HHS haven't been able to assist. i am very sorry for this but i can easily email you my wonderful references. I owned my own business in Sydney for 12 years so you can see i am responsible and reliable. I am semi retired and work mostly from my laptop so can work anywhere. I sold my home in New South Wales in 2008 while i was enjoying housesitting in the Margaret River region of WA. I have come back east because my mother is elderly now. I have had the joy of owning 3 Scottish Terriers: Mac, Skye and Kiltie. I would like to housesit anywhere from Port Macquarie up through the Northern Rivers and Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Please contact me on 0450 552074 if i can help. Kindest regards, Jayne

Hi I am Hayley! I have just returned home to Melbourne after living in the UK for 3 years where I as house/cat/dog sitting for the last 4/5 months there. I am also very familiar with sitting as I regularly did from 17 years for family, friends and friends of friends.
I come from a family who love animals, we have always had beloved pets growing up and Mum used to volunteer at the blue cross and bring home kittens and dogs in need of homes temporarily until a loving family was found for them.
I am reliable, very communicative, clean, tidy and love cuddles with cats and long walks with dogs. I have reviews on my trustedhousesitters account (I am very new to this site) and usually my sits come through recommendation or the other site.
I can offer references or more than happy to meet you, your pets and house before any decision is made.
I am hoping to housesit for a few months whilst I settle back in to Melbourne and decide which area I would like to move to, my Mum is out in Wonga Park so a little isolated for now and enjoy my own space.
I am a trained dance and yoga teacher. I had my own business/studio Bath (UK) and will be free-lancing whilst in Melbourne so I work sporadically which gives me the flexibility and time for pets!
Please feel free to ask me any further questions, or don't hesitate to contact via email or phone.

Hi there!

My name is Nikki, I'm a 28 year old female from Scotland and I am studying my Masters in Landscape Architecture. I came to Melbourne in July 2017 to study and I will be staying in Australia until my final year of uni starts in Scotland in September 2018. My next semester starts in January but it is distance learning, so I will just be studying from home and don't have to attend uni which is why I thought about house-sitting. I've been renting an apartment in the CBD since I arrived but since I spend most of my time studying in the house anyway it would be nice to have a furry friend to keep me company and I would also get to see other parts of Melbourne.

Unfortunately at this point in my life I can't have a pet of my own because of university and travelling but I love all kinds of animals and I'm especially experienced in taking care of dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, fish and bearded dragons. The beautiful miniature pinscher you see in my pictures is called Benji, my friend saved him from a breeder who obviously didn't care about the wellbeing of her puppies and as a result he developed some behavioural problems and was aggressive and possessive. I offered to foster him for her until he was ready to be around other dogs and as you can see with a little training and a lot of love he turned into the perfect little gentleman and can't get enough of cuddling on the couch.

I worked as an in-home carer for disabled adults whilst at home in Britain, therefor I have been extensively police checked and received specialist training and have certificates that confirm I am legally entrusted with the care of the most vulnerable people in society. I conducted personal care for severely disabled individuals and took them out for activities and assisted with general day to day living like shopping, preparing food, doing chores and I also maintained their homes for them so I am experienced with house cleaning. If you are interested in my references I will provide you with contact details for my previous employer who can verify my police check, that I worked there for over a year (the only reason I reluctantly left the job was because I was coming here to study) and that I am trustworthy and have the experience necessary to care for your house and pets. You also know that I couldn't have a criminal record or I would not have been granted a Visa or entry into Australia and I will provide you with photocopies of my drivers licence (full, manual and clean) and passport so you have my personal details.

I'm more than happy to send you daily pictures or video calls so you can see that your pet is being treated with the love and attention they deserve. I don't drink or smoke, I am a clean and quiet lodger and will provide a reference from my current landlord (who lives in the property with me) to confirm this. I am happy to meet you prior to making any house sitting plans so you can decide if I'm a good fit. I am a warm, compassionate person just looking fsor a furry companion to keep me company during my studies, I'm looking for longer house sits preferably around a month so I can see different parts of Australia but not have to move around too often. I'm happy to sign a contract with agreed terms and will even provide you with a bond to ensure your peace of mind.

I look forward to hearing from you!
Nikki
