If you are looking for an experienced house sitter, someone energetic who will look after your home and pets with the love and respect they deserve, then pick me.I am Reliable, Clean, Quiet and Considerate, a Non Smoker, and I am not a party goer, i’m a bit more of a tea totaller and I won’t hold parties in your home.I am a great communicator and I can keep you up-to-date with the condition of your house and pets with an email report every few days while you’re away. I’m even willing to Facetime/Skype video conference with you over the internet so you can say hello to your pets if you’re missing them.I have grown up having lots of pets of my own, I have owned cats and all types of dogs (Poodles, Corgies, Maltese) and a miniature dwarf rabbit, a guinea pig, a mouse, yabbies, budgies and a goldfish called chip. Due to my current Digital Nomadic lifestyle I am unable to own any pets of my own, so i have plenty of love and attention to give to your pets. I’m the sort of person who doesn’t mind letting your cats and small dogs sleep on my bed. I understand your pet is a valued family member. In my travels I have done paid part-time work cleaning houses, I have done many house sits all along the East Coast of Australia and can supply many excellent references, I also have a current police check certificate to give you that extra peace of mind.I am currently self-employed as a Website Designer and IT Support professional and I work over the Internet so you WILL need to have reasonable Internet/WIFI for me to use. As I am a Non Smoker I won’t be able to house sit for smokers sorry.I have family in Portland, Geelong and Canberra and friends in Darwin.Checkout my website for more info and my availability calendar - http://www.kimshelp.com.au
I currently live and work in Melbourne, living in a share household. I house sit as I also enjoy having time to myself. I also love caring for pets. Over the past years I have sat on many occasions with many homeowners asking me back to sit for them. I will take really good care of your pets. I genuinely enjoy both cats and dogs. I Like taking dogs for walks and offering lots of affection. Same for cats too...except the walking. Will also take good care of your property and leave it in an excellent condition. I have excellent references. A police check. I don't smoke. I am a friendly respectful guy who is very clean and tidyCheers, Patrick
I'm a fit active 72 y.o. retired pharmacist. Home owner in suburban Melbourne. Sober and non-smoker. Don't use drugs. Divorced, living alone. When married used to have 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Love dogs, especially large ones. Fine with cats. Used to own chooks.Looking to house sit just to provide an inexpensive change of scenery. My previous experience in looking after other people's houses is occasional weekend home swaps with friends who live in country Victoria, which included looking after their dog. I'm sure that those friends would vouch for me and I could provide additional references. Update re experience: I've recently (Dec 2017/Jan 2018) completed a 6-day sit looking after a house on 5 acres in country Victoria plus 2 Border Collies, 2 cats and about 20 chooks and ducks. Reference available on request re this.I live a quiet lifestyle. Not a party person. I look after my home with great care and would do likewise with others.I'd suggest arriving a day (or maybe two) prior to your departure to facilitate an effective handover and help us both to feel confident in the arrangement.I had a police check before starting some voluntary work and could probably supply a copy. Also have a Working with Children Check card.

Animal Lover and Hermit Crab looking for temporary shell to share with furry friends!I am a reliable, responsible and down to earth person (female, German, late-thirties, non-smoker) with a big heart, happy outlook on life and broad interests. I've lived in Australia for 6 years and just got back after three years in Germany, ready to live the digital nomad dream.I love animals (especially cats) and gardens (all kinds) but my travelling life style isn't quite suited to have my own just yet so it would be lovely to care for someone else's for a while. Hi - we are a semi retired couple with business/educational backgrounds and really enjoy the adventure of exploring new locations and people. We are experienced housesitters and commit to taking responsible care of homes and gardens; pets have always been part of our lifestyle. We welcome all offers and can provide reference checks etc Gerald and Brenda Johnstone
Hello my name is Sara :) I am very happy to be here on Happy Housesitters and am looking forward to many wonderful times looking after and caring for homes and pets! This is such an enriching and enjoyable thing to do!Laughter, well-being, and happiness are such important things in life. I love new experiences, and am aware that sometimes we cannot easily go on holidays or have time to ourselves when we have pets, gardens and homes to look after. It is a great pleasure, therefore, to help home and pet owners spend time away, safe in the knowledge that their home and pets are well cared for. House sitting also allows me to spend time writing, exploring, and being in a new environment. House sitting and looking after pets is a special focus in my life especially now. I am beginning a new journey of travelling and exploring for the next 1 – 2 years, now that my 2 sons are young adults. I am so grateful that life has presented me with this wonderful path of expanding my work and life into new areas. I first did some house sitting several years ago, and found this to be wonderful. It is such a lovely experience to meet new home owners and to care for their home and pets. Pets bring such happiness and joy, and I have grown up with pets, and understand how special they are in our lives. I have been loved and sat upon by my son’s cat Arthur for the past few years, and have been so grateful for his loving company. I also grew up with cats, and enjoy being with friends' pets. Owners have commented that their pets seem to gravitate towards me. This may be because of my natural inclination to want to massage them! However, I have also noticed that most pets are happy to approach me, and often want to sit close to me - or on me! - soon after we are introduced :) For more than 20 years I have been guiding and counselling, and helping others navigate through the challenges that life can bring. A major part of my work is helping people find more ease, comfort and well-being through meditation, reflexology, yoga, intuitive massage, and more. Now I am beginning a time of writing about what I have learnt, and therefore house sitting is helping me fulfil this enjoyable activity.I came to live in Australia in 1995 (from England), and life here has brought me many amazing experiences :) I moved to Melbourne, and it was there that I began a family with my then-husband. I built a whole garden from scratch, planting it out with native and exotic plants. I truly love nature, animals, and birds, and the ways in which they help to nurture and heal mind, body and soul. It was here that my 2 sons were born. When my sons were little we had a hobby farm for 8 years in the Adelaide Hills. Life was busy and filled with lots of activity! I learnt so many wonderful new things during this extremely busy time of my life! Shearing, bush care, slashing, weeding, fencing, planting veggies and fruit trees, watering sheep and plants - all this alongside caring for the home and family :) It was also great when we began to have WOOFERS (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) come to stay and help. We sold the farm so that we could spend more time travelling. This included a lot of family time travelling and camping around Australia. We also visited family and friends in England and Europe. During this time I also travelled to Egypt extensively, where I then ran tours. More recently I ran a very romantic bed and breakfast for 3 years in Aldgate, in the Adelaide Hills. This enabled me to meet many new guests, and feel the joy of providing them with a wonderfully relaxing and welcoming retreat to celebrate special occasions. Now a wonderful new time of adventure, connecting and travelling is beginning, with the support and encouragement of my sons and many wonderful friends. Travelling brings me immense joy, and I feel truly blessed!
Hello. We are a recently retired teaching couple who are active, love animals and nature, and are interested in looking after your home and animals for you while you are away. We have our own home in the Hunter Valley, NSW, where we live with our 3 teenage children who are completing their uni degrees and working. The kids are now old enough to look after themselves and our little dog,and we are looking forward to heading out and seeing Australia. We are non-smokers; love to walk and exercise;are clean and tidy;enjoy tending to gardens and have prior experience with a wide variety of pets. We have house sat in the past, and can provide references if required.
My wife and I own and operate an online business, established almost 4 years ago. The majority of our customers are world wide. As a result, we are permanent travelers, but need to be in Australia to visit with grand kids and assorted family! We are animal lovers, and recently gave away 2 fabulous cats to a good home. (Normally our sons look after the cats, but they all recently left the family home in New Zealand!) We now have good experience in house sitting, we are very responsible people, and would treat your home as we would ours, and the animals and garden would be treated the same. My wife is extremely house proud, and loves to potter about in the garden . She is an extremely organised person and she looks after the house and me very well!Kays Dad was in the 2000 Queens Honors List in New Zealand (R. J. SHARP ONZM, For services to Dairying), because he invented the herringbone milking shed in New Zealand in 1952. Only took 48 years to get recognised. We can provide good personal references. We are non smokers. Broadband or good internet access would be needed.
We are two retired, active, music and food loving schoolteachers with a penchant for travelling and enjoying new experiences. We have been involved in house and pet sitting for many years and in many places throughout Australia and overseas. While we have a home in Adelaide, we enjoy a nomadic lifestyle in our motorhome, which makes it unfair to have pets of our own. Housesitting allows us to indulge our love of animals and over the years we have cared for many dogs, cats, birds, horses, sheep, goats, cattle and the like, with dogs, whether big and boisterous or small and cuddly, being our special love. We are also meticulous in the attention we give to each property, whether it be an apartment, a suburban block or a rural spread. Recent experiences have included a 10 month stint on a Daintree acreage, return visits to a horse property and 3 months caring for two houses in the south of France. As Tony is something of a dab hand at housework and property maintenance and Helen is an expert at quality control, you can rest assured that your property and pets will be cared for as if they are our own. We will happily provide you with contact details for phone referees if required.
I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy. My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything. I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.Hope we can assist each other .
Hello, I am a single, non smoking health professional with experience in caring for homes and much loved pets. I am very conscious of the need of keeping homes and pets safe and secure, and am aware of the trust that home owners place in house-carers. As mentioned I have house sat for previous home owners and cared for all manner of dogs, cats, fish....and would be happy to provide references. I am a non smoker, lead a quiet life, am responsible and accountable. I would be happy to care for your home.
Hello. I am a retired senior federal public servant, mature (sadly!), married woman looking to do some house sitting. I live with my husband in our own home on the Gold Coast and we currently have a dog and a cat. I am an experienced "pet" person, having had all manor of animals in my home, from mice, birds, fish to cats and dogs. Our own dog (a kelpie) is currently 7 years old and a very crazy young thing, needing lots and lots of exercise. He was supposed to be an outside dog, but somehow that rule hasn't been fully applied! Our cat is almost 4 and is very much busy with chasing the dog around. I am able to garden, clean the pool, look after the house and pets. I am a non smoker. Though I plan to "house sit" usually by myself, there would be times when my husband would join me for a short break. We are both thoroughly house trained! We are planning to formally retire in a few years and I feel that house sitting in different places would help me to get a feel for various districts by living like a local, rather than as a tourist. I am most happy to look after pets and would look after your home well. I have now done many house sits (and many return sits) and can forward names and contact details for these house owners as references. I have a written personal character reference that I can send on to you as well. Hopefully all will tell you how wonderful I am. Oh, and also that I am honest, reliable and trustworthy. You can email me on email@example.com anytime. My preference is for short breaks, up to three weeks or so, and around the ACT or anywhere in NSW. Thanks. Eeva
We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple. We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia. We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years! We have, of course got references and a police check. Currently we are available for the following periods:March/April, Aug to Christmas.Dick/Ann
I've been a house-sitter for the past 15 years. House-sits have come my way from all over Australia via friends, colleagues, word-of-mouth, and house-sitting agencies such as Happy Housesitters. I'm a self-employed artist, working in the forms of site-specific video, performance and installation. I also work as a community artist and sometimes as artist-in-residence with remote and regional communities. It suits me well to house-sit as I travel extensively for my art practice. My tools of trade are video camera, laptop, sound equipment and projector, which means I travel light and don't need a studio or art materials. For the past 3-4 years I've been exploring Tasmania via a mixture of WWOOF'ing, house-sitting, camping, bushwalking - climbing mountains and breathing deeply in old growth forests as much as possible. I'm now based in my old home-town of Sydney, taking up occasional house-sits in other delightful locations. I'm fortunate to have a reliable home-base in Lane Cove, with a dear friend for whom I provide help around the house and garden whenever I stay. I periodically spend a month or two nannying a delightful 6 year old for friends near Wollongong, as well as sojourns in Ballina with my niece, where I can be a great aunt to her two toddlers. I'm single, have no children, don't smoke, drink very little and have my own car. I love to grow and cook good food and am a dab hand in the kitchen, having spent a few years as a professional cook. I love to have the sky as my roof as much as possible - 'chop wood, carry water' has great appeal. I'm physically active with bushwalking, swimming, gardening, Pilates, strength training. I like singing too, especially in choirs. I also meditate and do gentle yoga. I'm good with farm animals and wildlife and I'm happy to companion your beloved domestic animal. I'm clean and tidy and always leave house, animals and garden well tended. I'll attend to incoming mail under your instructions, send scans of anything requiring your attention, and can even run an in-house business if you happen to have one, as did a Hobart home owner for whom I've been a regular house-sitter.I'm energetic, versatile and adaptable. I'm especially interested in eco-sensitive, energy-sustainable homes and properties, to learn from them, to make a sweat contribution to them and to foster optimism about the future.

I couldn’t have asked for better sitters! They visited beforehand to meet our dogs and I immediately felt very comfortable that Lucy and Murray would take great care of our dogs. They were very dedicated to looking after the dogs and respectful of our apartment, leaving it spic and span. Our dogs were very happy in their company as Lucy and Murray happily followed the daily routine we requested, including letting them sleep in their bed with them. I will definitely ask them to sit for us again. My husband and I are both retired, although Ian does work every now and then for his previous employer (finance area). I retired 3 years ago but had been a School Admonistration Manager (14 years). I still have security clearance to work in schools, therefore have had the full criminal record check. We did our first house sitting and pet minding "job" in March and April 2015 (6 wks) and we looked after lovely little dog and cat(See Reference) and we then did another house sit, pet minding (5 wks) looking after another gorgeous dog (See Reference). Our background in brief: Five adult children. Married 42 years. We now live in an Over 50s complex and are enjoying it very much. We had previously lived at Sylvania, southern suburb of Sydney, for 35 years. Always been involved in community activities (Judy - P&C life member, and raising money for various charities. Ian - Soccer Chairmans award for volunteer work, also local Scout group committee member and volunteer work). We love pets, growing up I had a poodle, and Ian had a Jack Russell. Our family dog was a Staffie called Cypress. She was loved for 14 years, and when the timing is right we will have another Staffie. But we love all pets. We are honest and reliable, and would take good care of your home, inside and out. Ian really enjoys mowing lawns, yes he does. And I love pottering in the garden. We would now like to do more travelling and exploring of this wonderful country. Please contact us if you would like more information.
We are a mature couple (58 and 62) and are both retired. We'd be very happy to come and look after your home while you are away and would treat your home and pets as we do ours, with all care. I'm comfortable with farm animals and can ride a horse. I enjoy the garden and would be very happy pottering around, watering, mowing, sweeping - whatever. Ive recently completed a Certificate in Animal Care through TAFE and Graeme is currently studying for his PhD spending a lot of time working on that. We have a home on the northern beaches of Sydney. Our neighbours are knocking down and rebuilding their home so we will be renting our home to them for the duration, leaving our dogs with them and hope, expect, to be travelling / house sitting for a year. We have done some house sitting already with return visits (or requests to return) and can supply references should you want them. We would be very happy to care for your home and animals and hope that you contact us if you think we're suitable. ThanksLouisePs I'm also a JP
