I am a clean, non smoker, young retired Australian man originally from France. I have lived in Australia since 2007. I am an Australian citizen. I love the company of dogs and pets. I can assist with small jobs as required including gardening and lawn mowing. I enjoy sporting activities including cycling, swimming, walking, skiing and running.

Recently I have separated from my partner, and have started to enjoy house sitting.

I have lived in a house with a dog for 11 years and cared for the dog as my own. I have also cared for the local wildlife by providing food and water for the birds and echidna's that visit the property. I have cared for cats, dogs, chickens, fish and a tortoise.

Please contact me for references by email: gerardinenzo@gmail.com or at 0466 469 694

Animal Lover and Hermit Crab looking for temporary shell to share with furry friends!

I am a reliable, responsible and down to earth person (female, German, late-thirties, non-smoker) with a big heart, happy outlook on life and broad interests. I've lived in Australia for 6 years and just got back after three years in Germany, ready to live the digital nomad dream.

I love animals (especially cats) and gardens (all kinds) but my travelling life style isn't quite suited to have my own just yet so it would be lovely to care for someone else's for a while. I am honest and have a high standard of cleanliness. I will treat your home and animal/s as if they were my own and look forward to meeting you! :-)

I am a single, mature aged, non-smoking gentleman with experience in house and pet sitting.

As a recently retired school teacher, I am looking for an opportunity to extend myself and broaden my travelling experience by living in an area for longer than a fleeting visit as is usually the case when taking a holiday from work.
I enjoy gardening, reading, cooking, walking, and recently, craft creations.

Whilst not having my own pets these days, I have had the rather usual menagerie of a cat, dogs, fish, guinea pigs, white mice and chooks.

I have a reference and photos which are attached.
I look forward to be of assistance.

Regards

Richard

Introduction
Hello - I am at a time of life where I am available to be the brilliant house and pet sitter you are looking for. I am a single professional, self-employed Australian with two adult sons (pursuing their own careers). With no family around me, I no longer need to be based in one location. I enjoy the freedom that house sitting offers where I can be a devoted animal lover to other people's pets while enjoying your location. Being agile and moving to different cities suits my Internet based (email traffic, not heavy downloads) work very well and as I have lived in almost all of Australia's capitals & various cities overseas, I am very much at home wherever I am.
I will consider any sit with a preference for long house sits (3-12months). I am open to being in any location, city or region…here are some of my favourites: NYC, Spain, Malta, Central America, Chile, most countries in Europe and NZ. I am self employed as a facilitator, business management consultant and executive coach where I conduct my work 'virtually' via the Internet & Skype. This means I can work anywhere as long as I have fast, reliable Internet.

Why I want to house sit
Through past house sitting experience, I recognise the value of house sitting to pet lovers & security for your home while giving me flexibility & variety in lifestyle. I have travelled extensively over the years and am resourceful and socially inclusive. Your pets and home will receive my responsible and loving attention and I will be proactive by staying in touch to keep you informed about how everything is going without being a burden. You can learn more about me via my LinkedIn and business websites which I'd be happy to send you, along with my CV, biography and character referees, for information. I live simply and cleanly and will be very respectful of your home, belongings, security and privacy. I don't own a car, so, I’d welcome the use of a car if possible please, especially for overseas or remote/ distance house sits.

My experience & promise to you
I promise warmth, openness, transparency and genuine care of your pet family and your home. I am pleased to have 'home based' work so I offer a strong presence & companionship for your home & pets. I have been an Australian Army Officer with a top secret positive vet security clearance (21yr), consultant to most Australian Commonwealth Govt departments, 3yrs as deputy chair and director Crime Stoppers & National Trust boards. I pride myself on maintaining high integrity, sound judgement, balance, reliability and being a proactive communicator. I'm also a very loving and gentle person with animals. You can depend on me to keep you informed and to make decisions about your pets and home with your priorities in mind. I am comfortable with all types of animals and those with special needs. I will reach out to people in your immediate community network, as advised by you, if needed. I've been a home owner for 25yr, an animal lover for life and I know the value of a quality house sitter. I've had the joy of 7yrs experience as a host to my own house sitter, so I fully understand and respect the responsibility that comes with this position. I am also a 'live-in' sitter for people with frequent short absences, so I can be there while you come and go.

My aim is to give you absolute peace of mind while you are absent while having a cost effective home solution for myself (as a 'local'!) in a new environment. I look forward to getting to know you and your pet family! My previous hosts are all happy to chat with you and I can email you their references if you wish. Wherever possible, if I am in your city, I will always try to meet with you and your pets in advance of the sit so we know that 'everyone' is comfortable. Warmly, Lisa

NOTE: I AM COMMITTED WITH HOUSE SITS UNTIL JUL18 WITH A FEW VACANT WINDOWS JAN/FEB/MAR18….. I WELCOME CONNECTING WITH YOU IN ANTICIPATION OF FUTURE SITS WELL IN ADVANCE. Note that it's always worth checking in with me in case I am free due to hosts' change of plans. Let's chat!

We are a mature age professional non-smoking couple. With occupations in healthcare and sales/management, we have excellent work and life ethics and would guarantee you would be pleased with us caring for your home and pets. We have rented out our house on Sunshine Coast and are now working and travelling our way around Australia in our caravan. We are fastidious with keeping our home/caravan in a high level of cleanliness We are always willing to house sit in rural areas or provincial towns as we would to be able to park our van. We are happy to sit in suburban areas if there is space to safely park our caravan. We are able to house sit for longer periods of time. We would consider it a privilege to look after your house or farm, pets and gardens. References available on request. Over last few years we have house sat across eastern Australia including Bendigo, Caloundra, Alexandra Headlands, Hervey Bay, Burleigh Waters, Mount Cotton and Sheidow Park SA.

  • ACT, Melbourne

We are a responsible, non-smoking, non-drinking couple based in Melbourne.

Fernanda is a 41-year-old biologist, Portuguese teacher and a gardener. Fabrice is a 41-year-old, IT consultant and a social worker.

Fernanda and Fabrice lived in Canberra for almost five months, when Fabrice was working at ACT Health as an IT contractor.

In Canberra, we lived in three houses as house-sitters. We had excellent feedback from the owners.

We are back in Melbourne and we have decided to keep house sitting, as we really enjoyed the experience.

We are tidy and respectful individuals, so you will find your home in the condition in which you left it upon your return. We look after the pets with love, as they are ours.

We can provide house sitting, work and personal references and also police checks and IDs.

We appreciate the value of caring for a property, especially when it is not yours!

Hi,

I love animals, am considerate, quiet and very reliable. Love to roam and take pictures and feel at home in both urban and country environments.

I have been running Airbnb properties for the past seven years, mostly as a 'superhost' so am clean and responsible around the house, and enjoy meeting new people from everywhere.

House sitting is new to me but care of animals and gardens is not. I have experience with most animals including dogs, cats, horses and wilderness wildlife.

I am hoping to find a long term house sit, but will consider short sits if I am in the area.

Tess

Responsible retired couple available to care for your home, domestic pets and garden.

We are a retired couple (non-smokers) from Brisbane with interests in golf, gardening, photography and genealogy. We enjoy road trips, spending time in one place and leisurely exploring an area and community. Since 2014 we have undertaken a number of house-sitting assignments and have found it a rewarding experience. We are always respectful of someone else’s property and possessions, taking care to maintain the property to a high standard.

We have owned dogs, cats and birds in the past and they were always considered an integral part of our family. We would describe ourselves as “animal lovers” and have experience in the care of domestic animals such as feeding, administering medication, grooming and walking.

We would feel privileged to be given the opportunity to take care of your pets and property.

I've been a house-sitter for the past 15 years. House-sits have come my way from all over Australia via friends, colleagues, word-of-mouth, and house-sitting agencies such as Happy Housesitters.

I'm a self-employed artist, working in the forms of site-specific video, performance and installation. I also work as a community artist and sometimes as artist-in-residence with remote and regional communities. It suits me well to house-sit as I travel extensively for my art practice. My tools of trade are video camera, laptop, sound equipment and projector, which means I travel light and don't need a studio or art materials.

For the past 3-4 years I've been exploring Tasmania via a mixture of WWOOF'ing, house-sitting, camping, bushwalking - climbing mountains and breathing deeply in old growth forests as much as possible.

I'm now based in my old home-town of Sydney, taking up occasional house-sits in other delightful locations. I'm fortunate to have a reliable home-base in Lane Cove, with a dear friend for whom I provide help around the house and garden whenever I stay. I periodically spend a month or two nannying a delightful 6 year old for friends near Wollongong, as well as sojourns in Ballina with my niece, where I can be a great aunt to her two toddlers.

I'm single, have no children, don't smoke, drink very little and have my own car. I love to grow and cook good food and am a dab hand in the kitchen, having spent a few years as a professional cook. I love to have the sky as my roof as much as possible - 'chop wood, carry water' has great appeal. I'm physically active with bushwalking, swimming, gardening, Pilates, strength training. I like singing too, especially in choirs. I also meditate and do gentle yoga.

I'm good with farm animals and wildlife and I'm happy to companion your beloved domestic animal. I'm clean and tidy and always leave house, animals and garden well tended. I'll attend to incoming mail under your instructions, send scans of anything requiring your attention, and can even run an in-house business if you happen to have one, as did a Hobart home owner for whom I've been a regular house-sitter.

I'm energetic, versatile and adaptable. I'm especially interested in eco-sensitive, energy-sustainable homes and properties, to learn from them, to make a sweat contribution to them and to foster optimism about the future.

Derek

  • ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC

Hi, My name is Derek. I'm 61, single and this is my third year house sitting. I'm currently in Wallington near Geelong enjoying the company of three character cats and a Scotch Collie.

I thought house sitting would be a great way to get to see and know more of Australia and Australians. The home owners, pets, locals, culture and geography I'm meeting continue to supply a wealth of positive experiences. It's also a pleasure to be able to help people get away in the knowledge their homes and pets are in safe, committed hands.

Skills under my belt include gardening and house maintenance as well as pool care. I have owned, as well as looked after many pets; being experienced with dogs, cats, birds, chooks, ducks, horses, alpacas, a Shetland pony, poddy calves, fish and bees (a former orchard interest). I am reliable and would keep your pet's established routines as close to normal as possible.

I understand how important peace of mind is with respect to the well being of pets. As such, I keep in regular email contact with home owners regarding pets and always attach pics of their escapades. I also spend the majority of my time around the house and therefore, with your pet/s.

I am also responsible with the care and security necessary to keep a house safe and sound. I drive but don't have a car (environmental); public transport does the job. I live simply via a connection with Buddhist philosophy and practice. I don't drink or smoke. I would consider any location in Australia - city, country town or rural. Longer sits are preferable; 4 weeks plus - but would consider shorter periods depending on location and bookings.

If you think I could be suitable, ring or text if dates fit and I'll get on line and/or phone you. I'll forward references and referee contacts when applying for positions. Thank you for your consideration.

I'm a fit active 72 y.o. retired pharmacist. Home owner in suburban Melbourne. Sober and non-smoker. Don't use drugs. Divorced, living alone. When married used to have 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Love dogs, especially large ones. Fine with cats. Used to own chooks.

Looking to house sit just to provide an inexpensive change of scenery. My previous experience in looking after other people's houses is occasional weekend home swaps with friends who live in country Victoria, which included looking after their dog. I'm sure that those friends would vouch for me and I could provide additional references.

Update re experience: I've recently (Dec 2017/Jan 2018) completed a 6-day sit looking after a house on 5 acres in country Victoria plus 2 Border Collies, 2 cats and about 20 chooks and ducks.

I live a quiet lifestyle. Not a party person. I look after my home with great care and would do likewise with others.

I'd suggest arriving a day (or maybe two) prior to your departure to facilitate an effective handover and help us both to feel confident in the arrangement.

I had a police check before starting some voluntary work and could probably supply a copy. Also have a Working with Children Check card.

Hi
I'm Cheryl an honest mature female who is clean trustworthy, non smoking and a respectful house sitter.

I work in financial services and have very flexible work hours working from home a few days per week in the Sydney CBD.

I have recently sold my home in Paddington and am wanting to house sit for a while before I eventually relocate to Brisbane to be with my family.

I can offer excellent references and am a very experienced dog /cat sitter.

My recent sits have been for Shih Tzu, Labra-Doodles, Sharpeis and Maltese Poodles.

Recent cat sits have been for Siamese, Maine Coons, Norwegian Forest, Persians, Burmese and most loved moggies!

I have no issue with helping with house work or light gardening and would treat your home as my own.

Warm regards,

Cheryl

Kaz

  • ACT, NSW, Alice Springs, Darwin, QLD, SA, TAS

My name is Kaz, and I am an experienced house/pet sitter. I am 66 years old, non smoker, and love animals - particularly dogs. My last 4 legged companion (Tigger - a retired Greyhound) passed away several years ago. His passing (at the ripe old age of 14) meant I could take on new ventures.

I love new places, and looking after furry kids - fishy, feathered kids if necessary!!

Having worked in extremely remote communities over a 10 year period, I am organised and adaptable, and would look after your home and pets as I would my own. Up until late 2014, I owned my own home. I sold, in preparation to moving to country NSW in November of 2016. I have been permanently housesitting since 2012.

In March of 2014, I closed my landline crystal and mineral business, and moved to selling online. Which means that I work from home. I have my own internet connection, and chose Telstra as my provider, as their coverage is (generally!!) greater.

I am happy to provide details of referees. I have regular clients, and house/pet sit for some of them several times per year....

Some feedback from clients:

"It is always reassuring to know the dogs can be at home rather than in kennels We were able to enjoy planning the trip and then eventually being away with your great service. The dogs were well cared for and obviously enjoyed your presence very much so we are happy too!! No problem if you use these comments". Joe and Anne, Perth, WA

"We were very happy with Kaz. Fergie is a rather strong and dominant rescue dog with a few problems such as separation anxiety and we came back to find her actually better than when we left! So much so, that I have asked Kaz to meet up for a walk with the dog so I can learn from how she handles her!

For the first time ever, our cat had not pined and lost weight. The house was neat and tidy and Kaz had go above and beyond in every respect." Carol and Punch, Perth, WA.

Referee's contact details available on request.

I am a mature age house and pet sitter with a background of looking after country homes and gardens in Queensland...at Mitchell and Mapleton.

I have worked in the Real Estate industry in Queensland and have had the responsibility of ensuring security of homes and properties in the absence of home owners.

I love to travel and housesitting has resulted in two very successful recent house sitting assignments in New Zealand & Avalon, near Palm Beach, NSW.

I have attached the references from these assignments.

I would be delighted to introduce myself to you to discuss your specific requirements and instructions in detail.

I will be able to supply more character references and housesitting references, on request.

I have been house-sitting full time since 2014. I put my home in storage to undertake a masters degree by research. I have a lot of time to stay "in" if required which suits pet owners. While house sitting I am happy to live in different suburbs and the surrounding areas of Sydney and up to 2 hours or so out of Sydney. Eventually I aim to buy my next home, and this is a great way to experience different locations.
I have been really enjoying the house sitting community and it suits my current life of studying and doing much less work.
I love animals and, apart from the last 8 years, have always had pets of all descriptions most of my life. Mostly an inner-city person recently, I have lived in different places over the years including by the ocean, on a river and on a farm (Farm was twenty years ago) and raised animals of all kinds from baby lambs and calves to cats, dogs and birds. I have always pet sat for friends when they went away and the pets always take to me quickly as I do them.
I have worked in the arts and business for twenty five years and now run a small home based business as well as my study. I have grown children who are totally independent and I feel this is my time to explore new ideas and live in new areas. House sitting is a great way to live in new areas and transition to a new home eventually for myself. I am very responsible, a garden and pet lover. I do need to stay within reasonable commuting distance of Sydney for study and family, but short stints even interstate are not impossible.

I divide my time between Geraldton and Canberra. In Geraldton I have a lovely home, two gorgeous border collies, Salsa and Lulu, and a very supportive husband. In Canberra I have a great job which lets me work from Geraldton on occasion. When in Canberra I love to house sit and I have been doing so for about two years. House sitting allows me to get to know different parts of Canberra. A bonus is looking after pets, particularly dogs that like to take me on walks. We do agility with Salsa and have started to train Lulu, and my husband and I are active in the local club. I am used to dogs of all types and personalities. I also enjoy winning cats' affection and love looking after chooks. I'm responsible, friendly and rarely go out in the evenings or weekends. I have a car but enjoy taking the bus to work in Civic. I can supply references and a current police check.

I currently live and work in Melbourne, living in a share household. I house sit as I also enjoy having time to myself. I also love caring for pets. Over the past years I have sat on many occasions with many homeowners asking me back to sit for them.

I will take really good care of your pets. I genuinely enjoy both cats and dogs. I Like taking dogs for walks and offering lots of affection. Same for cats too...except the walking.

Will also take good care of your property and leave it in an excellent condition.

I have excellent references. A police check. I don't smoke.
I am a friendly respectful guy who is very clean and tidy

We are two retired, active, music and food loving schoolteachers with a penchant for travelling and enjoying new experiences. We have been involved in house and pet sitting for many years and in many places throughout Australia and overseas. While we have a home in Adelaide, we enjoy a nomadic lifestyle in our motorhome, which makes it unfair to have pets of our own. Housesitting allows us to indulge our love of animals and over the years we have cared for many dogs, cats, birds, horses, sheep, goats, cattle and the like, with dogs, whether big and boisterous or small and cuddly, being our special love. We are also meticulous in the attention we give to each property, whether it be an apartment, a suburban block or a rural spread. Recent experiences have included a 10 month stint on a Daintree acreage, return visits to a horse property and 3 months caring for two houses in the south of France. As Tony is something of a dab hand at housework and property maintenance and Helen is an expert at quality control, you can rest assured that your property and pets will be cared for as if they are our own. We will happily provide you with contact details for phone referees if required.

Hello. I am a retired senior federal public servant, mature (sadly!), married woman looking to do some house sitting. I live with my husband in our own home on the Gold Coast and we currently have a dog and a cat. I am an experienced "pet" person, having had all manor of animals in my home, from mice, birds, fish to cats and dogs. Our own dog (a kelpie) is currently 7 years old and a very crazy young thing, needing lots and lots of exercise. He was supposed to be an outside dog, but somehow that rule hasn't been fully applied! Our cat is almost 4 and is very much busy with chasing the dog around. I am able to garden, clean the pool, look after the house and pets. I am a non smoker. Though I plan to "house sit" usually by myself, there would be times when my husband would join me for a short break. We are both thoroughly house trained! We are planning to formally retire in a few years and I feel that house sitting in different places would help me to get a feel for various districts by living like a local, rather than as a tourist. I am most happy to look after pets and would look after your home well. I have now done many house sits (and many return sits) and can forward names and contact details for these house owners as references. I have a written personal character reference that I can send on to you as well. Hopefully all will tell you how wonderful I am. Oh, and also that I am honest, reliable and trustworthy. You can email me on eevahelena@yahoo.com.au anytime. My preference is for short breaks, up to three weeks or so, and around the ACT or anywhere in NSW. Thanks. Eeva

We are experienced Aussie housesitters, retired accountant and agricultural scientist, grey nomads, non smokers, and both dog and cat lovers, having owned our own pets all our lives, and looked after numerous and various animals as housesitters for other homeowners, like yourselves. My husband and I were introduced to the concept of housesitting when we retired in July 2005. Since then, we have combined travel with housesitting in Australia, New Zealand, England and Europe and made lifelong friends along the way. So far, we have undertaken 100+ housesits over the past 12 years since retiring from full time employment. For ourselves during the course of our life, we have owned large dogs; boxers and german shepherds – all obedience trained - also cats, fish and poultry. We both retired from our jobs in the Northern Territory and sold our home, with a swimming pool, owned for 20 years. We plan on continuing to travel whilst we are healthy and until we get the travel bug out of our system. Our motto is to treat your home and pets as we would expect our own home and pets to be treated - with respect, love and care.
I was born and bred on a farm in South Australia, lived there for 21 years before moving to the Northern Territory, where my working life continued as an accountant. My husband is a Queenslander, and worked as an agricultural scientist in 2 Australian states, during the course of his working career.
We can provide written references, photos and police clearances, if you require further info. – but basically, we are just ‘grey nomads’ – enjoying retirement and travelling around England, Europe and Australia whilst we still have our health and are able to travel. Thanks for your time

I'm a mature aged, non-smoking female who has chosen to housesit as an alternative to renting. I've been housesitting since September 2011 and I really enjoy the lifestyle. House-sitting is a great way to save money until I can afford a place of my own, plus I enjoy experiencing different places. I love animals (was raised on a dairy farm), and am experienced in dealing with all their cute little quirks (and messes!) and providing a load of pats and affection if required. However, having a pet is not a requirement for me to house-sit.
I keep the homes I house-sit for in good condition and am very respectful of the homes I care for.. Owners have been very happy with the condition I leave their homes, gardens and pets in and I've had many return house-sits and referrals as a result. Any tasks that need to be done in your absence - like mail collection and putting out the bins - are part and parcel of the house-sitting lifestyle and I'm happy to do them for you.
I work at home part time for a super company and I also do some writing so I spend much of my time working on my computer. The good news for you is I'll be around to keep your pets company and hold down the forte, so your pets will be well looked after and your home will be well attended. I enjoy my own company and peace and quite around the house. When I'm at home it's just me, so you can rest assured that there won't be a continual procession of visitors stampeding through your home. Of course, I can go on about how responsible, reliable and trustworthy I am....but why not get in contact with me so you can decide for yourself. I have great referrences and a police check...what more can you ask for in a sitter?

I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy.
My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything.
I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.
Hope we can assist each other .

My husband and I are both retired, although Ian does work every now and then for his previous employer (finance area). I retired 3 years ago but had been a School Admonistration Manager (14 years). I still have security clearance to work in schools, therefore have had the full criminal record check.
We did our first house sitting and pet minding "job" in March and April 2015 (6 wks) and we looked after lovely little dog and cat
(See Reference) and we then did another house sit, pet minding (5 wks) looking after another gorgeous dog (See Reference).
Our background in brief: Five adult children. Married 42 years. We now live in an Over 50s complex and are enjoying it very much. We had previously lived at Sylvania, southern suburb of Sydney, for 35 years. Always been involved in community activities (Judy - P&C life member, and raising money for various charities. Ian - Soccer Chairmans award for volunteer work, also local Scout group committee member and volunteer work). We love pets, growing up I had a poodle, and Ian had a Jack Russell. Our family dog was a Staffie called Cypress. She was loved for 14 years, and when the timing is right we will have another Staffie. But we love all pets. We are honest and reliable, and would take good care of your home, inside and out. Ian really enjoys mowing lawns, yes he does. And I love pottering in the garden. We would now like to do more travelling and exploring of this wonderful country. Please contact us if you would like more information.

Hi there, I'm a semi retired 50 something male (non smoker) who looks after people's pets and homes. I have had many happy clients, including lots of dogs and cats and horses and cows (see pics); I'm sure their owners are happy too.

I have many references from pet owners who you can speak to; including police personnel, doctors and business owners, so you can check my bona fides.

I have much rural experience and I'm rather handy with tractors, diggers, ride on lawn mowers, chainsaws and the like. Homes in my care have varied from farms to cute cottages to executive palaces and high security homes.

My preferences are northern rivers of NSW / sthn Queensland and the greater Sydney area, and now, Melbourne. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks :)

Available mid November to 24 December and from 14 Feb 2018.
