Hello My husband and I are a married retired couple that have had a lot of experience housesitting in Canberra and would look after your home as we look after our own and believe that it is very important to leave someones home clean and tidy as we found it. We both love animals and have a dog and cat of our own.If possible we would bring a little tiny Foxy with us if possible if that is a problem We are both non smokers. The reason we wish to housesit in Canberra is that my mother is living in Canberra in a Nursing Home at Weston and we would like to spend more time with her as she is getting elderly. We are available to housesit from early December

I'm a fit active 72 y.o. retired pharmacist. Home owner in suburban Melbourne. Sober and non-smoker. Don't use drugs. Divorced, living alone. When married used to have 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Love dogs, especially large ones. Fine with cats. Used to own chooks.

Looking to house sit just to provide an inexpensive change of scenery. My previous experience in looking after other people's houses is occasional weekend home swaps with friends who live in country Victoria, which included looking after their dog. I'm sure that those friends would vouch for me and I could provide additional references.

Update re experience: I've recently (Dec 2017/Jan 2018) completed a 6-day sit looking after a house on 5 acres in country Victoria plus 2 Border Collies, 2 cats and about 20 chooks and ducks.

I live a quiet lifestyle. Not a party person. I look after my home with great care and would do likewise with others.

I'd suggest arriving a day (or maybe two) prior to your departure to facilitate an effective handover and help us both to feel confident in the arrangement.

I had a police check before starting some voluntary work and could probably supply a copy. Also have a Working with Children Check card.

Experience with a wide range of animals including native and farm animals

Hello

We are just joining Happy Housesitters (3 Sept) as they have more sitting opportunites in Sydney. We have been registered with Trustedhousesitters, so please look at our references there (link below), we also have police checks. I shall update this profile with photos etc shortly.

https://www.trustedhousesitters.com/house-and-pet-sitters/united-kingdom/england/bournemouth/l/51324/

We are in English couple who are fortunate to have houses in UK, Sydney and Morocco and now travel between our stays. My partner is a doctor, so often we will be looking to house sit where he will be working as a GP locum. I run our business online and work from home, so I am able to keep a close eye on your home and ensure your pets are extremely well cared for.

House sitting provides us with the flexibility our lifestyle requires. We love to travel and experience different places but it is also wonderful to have a base for a while and discover somewhere new. Also, we are keen pet lovers, particularly cats so this enables us to babysit them! We also have experience in puppy and dog training and have looked after dogs from Greyhounds to Cavoodles and others in between!

We are well travelled and renovated houses in 5 countries, so DIY tasks are easily undertaken. We are caring pet lovers, my partner is often called The Cat Whisperer! We are fit and love walking, aiming for 8km per day but can do less if this is too far for your dog!

Look forward to hearing from you
Abi and Mike

  • NSW, Darwin, QLD, Melbourne

We are a 'senior' couple (non-smokers) and have recently moved to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland area after having sold our rural property in Tasmania late last year.

In 2017 we became "professional house sitters" and enjoyed the experience very much. However we made the decision to become home owners again late 2017, but this does not mean we have "retired" and will always consider any suitable situations.

We would particularly be interested in discussing our suitability for your needs if you live in the Sydney Northern/Eastern suburbs, Melbourne City suburbs or far North Queensland.

We are practical people and have mostly lived on small acreage properties in Tasmania. We've enjoyed the company of many pets over the years including 2 cats, 2 dogs, a pet sheep, 2 goats (so not 'pet'!) and chickens.

We have had work experience related to housesitting placements when we worked on a remote Pilbara island, and in Coral Bay, WA. Doug was responsible for pool maintenance and general groundsman work, and I did housekeeping duties - and kitchen hand! It was a great experience living on a remote island, and fairly challenging coping with a Pilbara summer. We have also worked in a remote Aboriginal Community in the N.T. Doug was the Essential Services Operator and I looked after the Creche in the morning before changing hats to be the Centrelink Agent/general office admin. person in the afternoon. It was another wonderful opportunity and gave us an insight into the lives of Australia's indigenous people.

During 2017 (our 'gap year') we had the pleasure of meeting several home owners and their pets, and now have experience with managing big, bouncy dogs to the little feisty ones, chooks and cattle.
We can supply excellent references with one home owner declaring we would win a house sitter of the year award - if there was one!
We fully appreciate that making the decision to have people you don't know come to your home and care for your pets, garden and house may be a difficult one. We would like to assure you we would take the time to listen to what is required for your 'loved ones' to remain happy in their home, and would promise to care and respect your property as if it was our own. We are honest and reliable people!

Most recently we had police checks done, which is a requirement for people working for the Australian Electoral Commission in OIC roles at State and Federal Elections, and this we have done on many occasions. We are in the process of obtaining our own police checks. Also police checks were done when working in the N.T. and when I did volunteer work for Vinnies (Airlie Beach) and The Red Cross (South Perth).

Our interests are travel, music (member of a Community Band) quilting, gardening, walking and baking. I love to discover new speciality shops, delis, etc. We enjoy concerts and the theatre.

Below are two references, contact details could be supplied once you have made contact with us, and as we receive new ones we will add them as well.

Thanks for taking the time to read our profile, and we look forward to hearing from you.

Thérèse and Doug Boote.

I currently live and work in Melbourne, living in a share household. I house sit as I also enjoy having time to myself. I also love caring for pets. Over the past years I have sat on many occasions with many homeowners asking me back to sit for them.

I will take really good care of your pets. I genuinely enjoy both cats and dogs. I Like taking dogs for walks and offering lots of affection. Same for cats too...except the walking.

Will also take good care of your property and leave it in an excellent condition.

I have excellent references. A police check. I don't smoke.
I am a friendly respectful guy who is very clean and tidy
Cheers, Patrick

Helen 29yr old: Health Professional & full time student currently.
I am an experienced house/pet sitter and animal lover and i would love to take care of your home and pets.
* What kind of person am I?
I am a responsible, trustworthy, tidy and clean Australian born non-smoking woman and I love meeting new people. I am a young but mature Sydney city woman (29 years old). I am an experienced house/pet sitter, and have over 1.5 years of full time house/pet sitting experience. I am currently undertaking my 15th House/pet sit and i have future ones booked in. I am down to earth, reliable, practical, friendly and take great pride in providing a fantastic service. This means that you come home to a clean and tidy house and happy well looked after pets.
Helen: I am a Registered Psychologist and I am not currently working. Instead I have returned to full time university study in the city to complete my Masters in Clinical Psychology and I often study from home. This means that you will have excellent home security, and i can spend lots of time with your pets. I will be finishing my studies in 2017. I have a National Police Certificate and working with childrens check. As a psychologist I have a very high level of security clearance- one that is just under ASIO so you can be assured that i am a trustworthy person.
• What kind of service do I provide?
- I am 24/7 house sitter, so i provide excellent home security and often spend time at home.
- I am a pet carer who loves animals just as much as you do and will go above and beyond to make sure that your pet is happy, healthy and not disrupted in their routine. I only take on 1 house sit at a time to provide a thorough service.
- I will take thoroughly good care of your pets and their needs as requested (meals, any medicine, brush them, give them any worming tablets, keep them company and spend time walking or playing with them).
- Of course in an emergency situation, I will contact you and drive them to their personal vet.
- I will send you regular email/texts/ photo updates of your place and pets so you can see how they are travelling and so you don't miss them too much.
- Collect the mail daily & send you any mail that you’ve requested via email.
- Maintain any indoor or outdoor plants, water, remove leaves from pathways & pools etc as needed.
- I will clean your home before you arrive so that you come back to a nice clean home.
- I leave fresh food in the fridge before your arrival so you can relax once you’ve come back home (I will ask you what you would like e.g. milk, bread, fruit)
- I will start your car if needed to ensure that the battery doesn’t go flat. I won’t be using your car as I have my own
- You even get a little surprise to say thank you :)
- I provide a comprehensive service as I create a task checklist for each day so that I ensure that all daily tasks are completed. As I like to be thorough in my work, I also have a written out agreement of instructions that we both fill out and sign so that all duties are clear and so I have authority to be staying in your home (detailed instructions, vet and emergency contact numbers, pet quirks)
- Any extra tasks feel free to ask me
* Why am I house/pet sitting?
I have been asked this question & it's a fair question! Well house sitting is allowing me to save money as a full time student so that I may buy my own home one day. I also love pets and I don't have my own (other than the family cat, dog and budgies :) ) so it is wonderful to be able to spend time with the beautiful pets that I mind. They provide such companionship. Also, I absolutely love the adventure and variety of living in new places around Sydney and meeting new people like you! Even though I intended to house/pet sit only whilst I studied, I plan to continue house/pet sitting in the future even once I stop studying, because I now LOVE the lifestyle, variety and adventure of it all.
* House/pet sitting experience
I have been pet/house sitting since April 2015. Also, I have lived out of home before & I have had many pets (cats, dogs, chickens, fish, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, the odd insect.. ) my whole life so I understand the responsibilities of looking after a household and pets. I am happy to send you my references.
Here are some examples of my house sitting experience so far for the 21 months.
1. Frenchs Forest: 4 rescue cats, hermit crabs and a fighting fish.
2. Kirrawee: 2 rescue cats
3. Cammeray: House/pet sat a ragdoll cat and maintained the home for 3.5 months (May, June, July, August). This included mowing their lawns (The cat got in a fight so I immediately drove the cat to the vet in the night and he recovered well).
4. North Manly: Took care of a 14 year old dog, 21 year old cat, 2 fish ponds, a cockatoo and maintained and watered the tree dense garden regularly. Also feed the animals their daily medication at specific times.
5. Frenchs Forest: House sat for the same Frenchs Forest family again over Christmas and New Year’s Eve upon their request and they even paid for the service.
6. Belrose: House sat in Belrose in January 2016 and looked after their cat and dog. Walked their dog twice a day.
7. Cammeray: Returned to Cammeray a 2nd time for 3 weeks looking after their ragdoll cat and mowed their lawn
8. Maroubra: House/pet sat for 2 cats from 15.3.16-14.4.16.
9. Cammeray: House/pet sat at Cammeray for a 3rd time and their ragdoll cat.
10. Cammeray: Through word of mouth, I house sat the next door neighbour's place from 24.08.16 - 19.10.16 to look after their house, garden and frog pond
11. North Manly: I looked after their pets and garden for a 2nd time from the 9th Nov-28th Nov 2016.
12. Mosman: Through word of mouth, I looked after a house and garden in Dec 2016 for 4 weeks
13. Charlestown Newcastle: I looked after a dog and the garden here from the 28th Dec-9th Jan 2017. daily walks
14. North Turramurra: I looked after 2 dogs, a bearded dragon, garden and pool from the 9th Jan-22nd Jan 2017. This included giving one medication twice daily and daily walks
15. Cammeray: I looked after another cat from the 22-26th January 2017.
16. Newcastle Medowie: Here I looked after 1 dog (Brittany breed) chickens, the pool and garden in Jan/Feb 2017
17. Cammeray: I am looking after Des and Megan’s place and cat again for the 4th time in Feb 2017.
I also have upcoming bookings set in place. Feel free to ask me if i am free for your house/pet sitting dates.
Many have asked me to come back at other times, however the timing has at times not worked out as I only commit myself to doing 1 in-depth house/pet sit at a time.
* A little more about my love for Animals.
At the moment I don't have any pets but I LOVE animals. Over the year I have saved, looked after and fostered out 23 stray kittens which I am very proud of. Also, I have had pet sitting experience with dogs, kittens, cats, birds, fish, hermit crabs, frogs & experience with worming, kitty litters, baths, sick pets & some difficult pets. I understand that each pet has their own unique personality and requirements, in the same way people do.
Thus hopefully you will notice that I have a lot of house/pet sitting experience.
Notes: Also, I have a car so I would be able to take your pet to the vet quickly should there ever be an emergency.
* Do I sound like the kind of house/pet sitters you would like?
If so, then I hope to help to look after your home and pet. I would love to talk over the phone or meet you so we can get to know each other.
I also have a photo of myself so you can start to get to know me :)
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards
Helen

I am currently living in a Retirement Village. I am free to come and go as I please. I wish to become a house sitter as I want to experience living in various locations. I plan to sell my rented home in Sydney and buy a unit in Sydney or country NSW on the coast in which to live. I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. As my children had pets I have had experience caring for cats & dogs. I am fit and I can mow lawns and attend to a garden as well if the stay is long enough. I am a tidy individual who likes to live in a clean well kept environment. I am a man of sober habits & I exercise regularly and meditate to keep physically and mentally fit.

John Harkins bio:

John graduated from the University of NSW as an Engineer and operated his own management consulting company for many years (www.unitconsulting.com.au). John is a retired Reserve Naval Officer.A Character Reference & a Police Check are enclosed.

RE: John Harkins Character Reference

I have known John Harkins for approximately 20 years.

In my role as a business managers and owner, I have worked with many contractors and consultants, and in my opinion John is one of the most honest, hardworking, tenacious and principled people I know.

As far as is reasonably, or even unreasonably possible, John will do exactly as he promised he would do, on time or early, and will tell the absolute truth about what has happened and why. In other words, if John tells you about the past, then it happened, and if he tells you about the future, then it will happen! Naturally, John can be proven wrong by circumstance and outside forces, but when it comes to things turning out the way he promised, he will make extraordinary efforts to ensure that you can rely on his word.

Further, John is extremely loyal to his personal and professional relationships and partnerships. If you entrust something to John, he will take care of it, and you, with all his strength and ability – and as a highly tenacious individual, that is saying something.

I stayed in John’s house as a “boarder” for a few days a week, for about a year, while travelling into Sydney on business a few years ago. John is a very house-proud and particular man, everything has a place and everything is in its place. He allowed me plenty of freedom to “make myself at home”, and looked after the property I left in the room from week to week, and his Golden Rule is simple: leave it as it was when you found it, or better.

In reciprocity, for a few days a week for a year or more, I allowed John to use my Sydney-based vehicle while I travelled overseas; he follows his own advice, always surprising me with excellent care and attention to my car; perhaps he leaves it full of gas, perhaps he takes it in for a service, perhaps he cleans it; common courtesy perhaps, but that’s exactly what you hope for, when you leave a valuable asset in someone else’s care.

In summary, I have no hesitation in recommending John for the role he has indicated he’s interested in (house-sitting), and I’m confident he will protect and defend the owner’s property, and consequently live up to your trust in him.

Kind regards
James Powell

Our 14 year old, blind and very much loved Jack Russell has passed, so we are hitting the road.
Not yet 60 years. Semi retired couple from the Northern Beaches Sydney's Narrabeen.
Rob: 44 years in building/carpentry/painting. He must be fixing or doing with his hands all the time. Loves a project. Must stop to speak with every dog while on walks. He has a gift, not only with animals, but can just about fix anything. He loves the garden. Our apartment block has benefited from his consistent care.
Kathy: I’m the organiser and lover of lists and getting the job done. I've worked in the community both in aged care and disability for many years. With Police checks.
We both grew up on Sydney’s Northern beaches. I lived in the USA for many years.
We are open minded, flexible, easy going, consistent, clean, caring non smokers.
Please view our references attached.
I like to cook at home rather than eat out. Your pets would get so much attention, as we enjoy a simple life.
Our dog was very much the centre of our life. We have also owned 3 rabbits, 3 chooks over the years. I have fallen in love with many friends cats.
You won’t be disappointed if you choose us.

Professional, Respectful and Responsible House/Pet Sitter! Single - 36 Years Old - Non-smoker - Social Drinker (rare) - Vegetarian.

Having experience in UK, NSW, WA and now SA and Victoria, with a variety of animals including domestic cats, dogs, birds, fish, horses, a pony and chooks, I offer you and your pets with the care-free companionship they require during your time away. Being both an animal lover and home-body, I can dedicate my time to offering all furkids as close to the usual home life that each are accustomed, whilst ensuring any other needs around your home and your property are met according to any pre-arranged agreement. For the most part this is verbal, with written instructions, but happy to sign a contract and provide my ID in addition to the references/referrals.

Testimonials are relevant to previous sits in NSW, Vic, SA, WA and the UK, and available for you to review prior to discussing and meeting in order to assist with your decision making. Recent sits since returning to NSW have resulted in a great deal of call-backs and most of '17 came from repeats/referrals, as did a previous stint in Sydney for two years from 2010 - 2012, and I've only had one challenging experience in all my time as a sitter. A great deal of ongoing relationships have occurred due to my time sitting for singles/couples and, on occasion, through those referred to me via my Mother; she's also a house sitter with sits in NSW, Qld and the UK.

As you may notice from my pictures, I do come with my own little dog and this has not been a problem in securing sits along the way. I can provide more images and some videos of Sammy with other animals to help reassure you but references speak for themselves about how Sam behaves in other peoples homes and how I will maintain and leave your property (generally the cleanliness is greatly appreciated which is a rewarding part of my role when owners return after a busy work trip or rested holiday). Sam was a rescue but has lived with me with other dogs, in addition to our house/pet sits; 2 x JRT's and a Greyhound, and before adopting him he lived with other dogs in at least one foster home. He is 6, healthy and vaccinated, and I have had him over 4 years. After a great deal of moving round, through Jan and Feb, we are revisiting some dog training to help him better gel with some medium-larger breed dogs and to improve his recall for properties that are not fenced!

Sam and I have helped on a 100 acre property in SA with horses, that was 30 mins away from a local town, in a small rural town in Victoria with inside cats and outside dogs, approx. 90 mins to local shopping options, as well as being central in Sydney with no animals, and the perks of everything being very accessible. Most recently, in Orange, we've been on a 5 acre property with sheep to oversee and then chickens to tend to on a daily basis. I've also looked after a menagerie of animals on a farm property in the UK prior to moving over to Australia in 2008. All these sits identify the variety of homes, gardens and animals I have successfully managed whilst working office hours OR from home and/or studying in the past. I can provide a comprehensive list of the diverse sits I have had over the past couple of years traveling across Australia or around NSW.

I commenced a part-time role in the beginning of June. I was booked for a solid year (or more) in Orange but this is now coming to an end in mid February 2018 unexpectedly. My preference would be to remain local to Orange, to continue as per my current arrangements at work part time, or re-locate back to Sydney for the short-medium term sits, as I can return to my old office hopefully. For another long term offer I would consider anywhere in Australia though and focus on full time online studies instead of juggling a house sit around work and study. I am comfortable with another semi-rural/rural setting but would also jump at a coastal sit too.

My availability is maintained as best as possible on my profile but please run dates past me and I'll ensure I get back to confirm if I can accommodate. You can also find me on Aussie House Sitters for further references/testimonials/endorsements:

We look forward to hearing from you!

We are a couple in our late-30's, house-sitting around the Sydney area for experience so later on when we retire in a few years we we can do it full-time. We have many years of experience with cats and dogs, both of us are non-smoking, non-drinking, quiet people.
We are currently working in Sydney, we currently prefer shorter housesits (2-10 days) around the Inner West - but will consider anything around Sydney. We can do whatever you require, usually pet feeding/walking/company at night & general cleaning/mail collection, garbage bins in/out then we would be perfect to look after your place while you are away.
We started house-sitting 2 years ago & have references on file. We quickly accumulated a healthy list of recommendations. Feel free to ask us any questions. Hope to see you soon. Thanks!

Hello! I'm a single, non-smoking veterinary nurse and I adore meeting new human and animal friends. I accidentally fell into housesitting two years ago and have had non-stop positions ever since - mainly through word of mouth.

I've just sold a heritage-listed home on the far north coast of NSW as I continue my search for a rural property I can transform into a sanctuary for wildlife and rescued farmed animals. For the past few years I've worked as a writing coach and book editor, so as long as I have my laptop, internet access and solitude, I can base myself anywhere. Because I'm a qualified veterinary nurse, you can rest assured that any animals in my care will be expertly handled and observed ... while of course being diligently spoilt!

Having been a long-term home owner, I'm conscious of the attention to detail and practical care that go into maintaining a beautiful property. My tasks during housesits have included maintaining in-ground pools and organic veggie gardens while caring for a range of animals - from the most petulant pig to the snuggliest spoodle. I've single-handedly helped a cow to deliver her calf (hello, little Astro!), and I've made several return visits to a beautiful home in Byron Bay where I care for a deaf and delightful twenty-year-old cat (howdy, Max!).

All my housesitting clients have asked me to return (see written references below), and please don't hesitate to let me know if you'd like me to put you in touch with previous and current clients so you can chat with them over the phone.

In the meantime, thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I look forward to hearing from you.

We are two retired, active, music and food loving schoolteachers with a penchant for travelling and enjoying new experiences. We have been involved in house and pet sitting for many years and in many places throughout Australia and overseas. While we have a home in Adelaide, we enjoy a nomadic lifestyle in our motorhome, which makes it unfair to have pets of our own. Housesitting allows us to indulge our love of animals and over the years we have cared for many dogs, cats, birds, horses, sheep, goats, cattle and the like, with dogs, whether big and boisterous or small and cuddly, being our special love. We are also meticulous in the attention we give to each property, whether it be an apartment, a suburban block or a rural spread. Recent experiences have included a 10 month stint on a Daintree acreage, return visits to a horse property and 3 months caring for two houses in the south of France. As Tony is something of a dab hand at housework and property maintenance and Helen is an expert at quality control, you can rest assured that your property and pets will be cared for as if they are our own. We will happily provide you with contact details for phone referees if required.

Peter is from New Zealand, with family in Suffolk Park. He enjoys gardening, has a vegetable garden at his home in NZ, and would be keen to maintain a housesit garden if required.

Both Peter and Kathryn are writers, and enjoy a particularly quiet lifestyle, especially in the countryside. They are both experienced cat and dog owners, as well as experienced carers of other people's animals, including on farms with cows, horses, etc.

They are both clean, tidy, organised, and are non-drinkers, non-smokers and drug free.

I am a 47 year old female, single, non-smoker, non-drinker working in Forensic Sciences at Macleod so need to be able to commute daily. I have been employed in Forensics since July 2001. I have recently sold my home in Kilsyth and am keen to just "chill out" for the next few years without a mortgage....ahhh mortgage free for a few years is a wonderful thought. I love all animals whether furry, feathered, hooved etc and currently have an old husky of my own, Dylan is 11 1/2 years old. (house trained, doesn't dig or destroy property, she sleeps most of day now :) ) I volunteer at RSPCA Burwood every second Friday for the day. Being a home owner myself (until recently) I understand the gravity of inviting a stranger into your home to care for it, I can assure you that I would respect your home as if it was my own. I love being outdoors and active. Gardening is one of my passions, so if you have a garden that you need nurtured and not just kept, I would be glad to help out. I have my own trailer so I'm quite willing and able to lay some mulch or do a tip run if the garden needs it. If you think I may fit the bill, please, get in touch with me and we can meet to discuss your needs. Long term house sitting eg 6 - 12 months would be quite suitable for me as I must move out of my house by December 21st 2015.

Hi!
We are a french Australian couple with a toddler. We have been living in Australia for 8 years and decided to go back to France to be closer to our family for a lottl while this year. We are planing on coming back permanently early august 2018 towards Sydney and further along the track in north NSW / south QLD. I am in the wine industry, Bastien is manager in a consultancy that specialises on providing advice to corporate on Human Rights and Social Impacts.

We are both nature and animal lovers. We are quite handy, DYI and creative type of people. I enjoy gardening and i am interested in permaculture in particular. We like to get our hands dirty..! I have worked in various farms back in France and in Orange area NSW when i first arrived in Australia.
Bastien owned a house previously. I did some whoofing in a beautiful country eco friendly home in Orange NSW for some time and had to look after the regeneration of the natural bushland as well as some other outdoors tasks.

We are both reliable respectful people and very conscious to take care of where we live and other people's goods.
We enjoy outdoors activities, camping, are pretty sporty and healthy. We tend to eat organic as much as possible.

Our dream is to build ourselves a sustainable eco friendly natural home in a lovely peaceful piece of Earth in Australia and be virtually auto-sufficient. We want to have an alternative lifestyle basically, that will lead us to have a pleasant comfortable simple happy life without the restraints that the current model of society can impose upon people. And we want to bring up our daughter in a healthy meaningful environment.

What we are looking for at this stage from this website is a medium to long term house sitting meanwhile we look for a land and build a home.

We can provide police checks or other references if needed.
We have pet sit for 3 weeks in November 2016 through this website before leaving for France and it went very well.

Please feel free to give us a call for a chat or email us, that would be lovely!

Thanks for your interest in our profile. We are looking forward to looking after your house and more..!

Hi guys! This is me...................

* REFERENCES - National Police Clearance, Reference from real estate agent who leases my own home, character references, homeowner references - available on request. My drivers' licence can be sighted in person.

* MY PERSONAL LIFE
----------
I am a professional, full-time housesitter. I DO NOT charge a fee. I own my own home on the NSW Mid North Coast. It is leased, so I now travel, meeting wonderful people & making lots of furry friends! This is not a holiday for me, but my dream lifestyle, & I take my housesitting responsibilities very seriously. I was "born to housesit" & I absolutely love it!

I am non-denominational in religion but lead a Christian lifestyle, with good family values. I do not smoke or drink, do not have parties. I am vegan, very health-focused, love exercise & being outdoors in nature. I am home a lot, so can spend lots of time with your animals, maintain property security & attend to all houseshold / gardening chores. I don't go out at night.

I am very capable, independent, healthy, happy, friendly, reliable & extremely organised. I have always owned my own home & always had pets. I enjoy a "simple life" - much happier with less material things & more quality time spent with family/friends, exercising, eating well, being in nature, being with animals. I love meeting people from "all walks of life" - especially people from different races, cultures, age groups, religions & lifestyles.

I spent many years working full-time in a NSW government department doing legal work. I spent two years working as a part-time cleaner in a high-security bank. I spent the last two years studying.

* ANIMALS
-----------
I absolutely adore all animals & believe they are a big part of any family - you can be assured that I will treat them very well & include them in all family activities. I can do grooming, give medication, am confident with disabled or elderly pets. I can handle big dogs who pull on the lead. I can walk dogs twice per day - to the beach / park / around the neighbourhood. I will give all animals lots of company, play love & attention - whatever they need to keep them happy & sticking to their routine. I can send you daily photos / texts / emails of your pets playing / walking etc, to show you they are being well cared for & to give you peace of mind. I carry an RSPCA Pet First Aid Guide, to give immediate first aid to pets if needed. I have a stationwagon with a pet/cargo barrier to take your doggies on outings if they like. I have cared for rescue pets, dogs, cats, chooks, rabbits, cows, goats, bees, fish, wild birds, caged birds, alpacas & a pony - all of which I have photos.

* YOUR HOME
-----------
I am very house-proud & keep a spotless home. Your home & surrounds will be immaculate upon your return. I never wear shoes in the house, never put feet on furniture, always use coasters/tablecloths. I never eat on the lounge or walk around the house with food. My family has over 100 acres on NSW Mid North Coast - so I have experience with ride-on mowers & regular mowers. I can do whatever you need me to - collect mail, forward important mail to you, take phone messages, be home for tradesmen, put bins out, start car engine so battery doesn't go flat, water plants, gardening. weeding.
I will not use your car, phone or computer - I have my own. I will not use your microwave or dishwasher - I just don't like them. I very rarely use a dryer.
Prior to your return, I can stock the fridge/pantry. I will leave dinner & the following morning's breakfast for you. I would never have guests over without your permission.

* I BRING MY OWN
---------
pillows, pillowcases, mattress protectors, rice cooker, blender, water filter, kitchen tidy bags, tablecloth, household items (dishwashing liquid, handwash, toiletries, washing powder), clothes storage. I just need sheets, towels & blankets please.

* BOND
-------
I am happy to pay a bond.

* AGREEMENT
---------
I am happy to sign an agreement.

* CHILDREN
--------
I have 2 wonderful children - aged 10 & 8. We "homeschool" on the road. They are extremely well-behaved, mature, very clean & tidy, do not break things, do not run around the house, do not wet the bed (I bring my own mattress protectors anyway), are very respectful of other people's property & absolutely adore all animals! They are very gentle & kind to animals, do not play rough & do not hurt them in any way. They have been brought up as vegan & to understand the importance of treating living things as equals. All of my previous homeowners will testify that my children are no problem at all - they are an asset - with all the love & attention they will give to your pets. You will see for yourself how well-behaved they are. They have their own references & their photos are attached.

* BEDDING - we only need a double & single bed please. And we are minimalist, which means we don't need a lost of living space.

Thankyou & look forward to hearing from you soon!
Leanne.

Hello. I am a retired, mature (sadly!), married woman looking to do some house sitting. I live with my husband in our own home on the Gold Coast and we currently have a dog and a cat. I am an experienced "pet" person, having had all manor of animals in my home, from mice, birds, fish to cats and dogs. Our own dog (a kelpie) is currently 7 years old and a very crazy young thing, needing lots and lots of exercise. He was supposed to be an outside dog, but somehow that rule hasn't been fully applied! Our cat is almost 4 and is very much busy with chasing the dog around. I am able to garden, clean the pool, look after the house and pets. I am a non smoker. Though I plan to "house sit" usually by myself, there would be times when my husband would join me for a short break. We are both thoroughly house trained! We are planning to formally retire in a few years and I feel that house sitting in different places would help me to get a feel for various districts by living like a local, rather than as a tourist. I am most happy to look after pets and would look after your home well. I have now done many house sits (and many return sits) and can forward names and contact details for these house owners as references. I have a written personal character reference that I can send on to you as well. Hopefully all will tell you how wonderful I am. Oh, and also that I am honest, reliable and trustworthy. You can email me on eevahelena@yahoo.com.au anytime. My preference is for short breaks, up to three weeks or so, and around the ACT or anywhere in NSW. Thanks. Eeva

Dear Home Owner,
I am a reliable, trustworthy, practical, clean and tidy, considerate and quiet, mature woman. I am active, a non-smoker and love walking – dogs too! As a part time lecturer in Graphic Design I am at home a lot, and wish to house sit so I can afford the time to research and write. I am fond of animals and am happy to care for them as if they were my own while you are away.
I have experience house sitting in Watsons Bay (where I looked after two fish ponds and the garden for 2 months), Elizabeth Bay (where I looked after an aquarium of beautiful tropical fish and a cat for 1 month) and Ryde (where I looked after a dog and the garden for 6 weeks).
I can supply references upon request, and look forward to the opportunity of meeting with you and the possibility of caring for your home, pets and plants.

Thank you,

Desiree DeKlerk
