I am a published children's Author since September 2015. (you can view my website at www.andrewgholt.com if interested) I was working full time as a teacher until then and from then I have been part-time due to attending festivals and expos and book launches on the sunshine coast in Queensland. I have combined book launches and visited family in Young, Wagga Wagga, Canberra and Bega this last month of December
I am looking for a place to sit whilst writing some more and attending local markets on my way back up to the sunshine coast.
I have house sat before and as recent as September 2016 at Tanawha and October 2015 and then before in 2013 in Twin Waters.
I enjoy looking after animals and love spending time with them. I treat them as my own under the quidelines of each owner of course.
I am tidy neat and quiet. I enjoy the opportunity to practice yoga and became a qualified teacher in 2015 in Canada. I love bushwalking , reading about education and working on promoting the book I have published and writing draughts for future books. I am able to supply references if need so.
I have had a farm background as a child/teenager and have always had animals in my youth. My extensive travel as a teacher these last few years prevents me from having my own, so I would love the opportunity to look after yours.
I look forward to connecting if you feel I would be the right match. Any questions happy to chat.
Andrew

I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy. My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything. I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements. I do have references on this site, from previous happy pet owners. Hope we can assist each other ..

Di & Nick

  • NSW

We are Di and Nick, a retired 65/64 year old couple originally from Albury/Wodonga who have been married 37 years. We are home owners in the Gold Coast,
Nick is a retired Accountant and we have also owned and operated two successful boutique accommodation properties in Mount Tamborine, QLD and Bright, VIC as well as Di's very own art gallery. Since retiring, we bought a motorhome and have travelled around Australia with our dog, Bear. We would very much like to bring Bear with us as could not bear to be separated from him and would be very happy to mind any small/medium dogs you may have too. Bear would have to be the most well travelled dog in Australia - he's a 15 year old Moodle who is gentle very well behaved and because of our frequent travel, he is used to unfamiliar territory and has no problem at all socialising with other dogs. It goes without saying that he is 100% toilet trained and would cause no problems at all in your home!. He would not mind cats but your cat may not like the him intruding on home territory.
We take great pride in keeping our home in immaculate condition - we are always clean, neat and tidy. We've attached some photos of our own home and garden to give you an idea of the level of maintenance and cleanliness we are used to on a daily basis.
Other things to note:
Most of all we love our pets.
We have always had dogs and cats as part of our family and would have the time to spend with yours
We are non smokers
All pooches will be walked daily and given plenty of cuddles love and attention as ours is used to.
We love all things garden and are more than
happy to maintain yours
Mail collection, bin days etc. would all be taken care of
We will have our own car on site...no motorhome
Many photos of your pets to keep you updated
Police check and two character references can be provided upon request (we have only house sat for
friends before so do not have official housesitter references)
We guarantee that we will take very good care of your home and pets, just like they are our own!
Please feel free to contact us anytime....love to hear from you.

Hello,

We are a non-smoking, mature aged couple who will look after your home and pets as if they were your own. We are willing to travel to most areas of Australia. At the moment we are looking for a house-sit in NSW, Victoria or Q'ld, but are willing to consider/travel other states. We are experienced house sitters, having done many sits over recent years including many return requests.

Our reasons for house sitting are simple. It gives us the opportunity of seeing different parts of this beautiful country, and it also to gives us the opportunity to provide the home owner with peace of mind that their home and animal/s will be extremely well cared for, should we be granted that privilege.

We take pride in what we do, being both neat and tidy. We enjoy a quiet life, are very capable, employ common sense and take care of things the way we would hope some-one would do for us.

We have cared for many different animals, cats (many varieties including Ragdoll, Himalayan, Russian Blue, Birman, Burmese, Siamese, much loved long haired and short haired moggies, all with different personalities and requirements, some indoor only felines). We have cared for number dogs (Malamut-cross, Border Collie, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Staffy, Flatcoat Retriever, Labradoodle, Swiss Shepherd to name a few), fish, chickens and cows a herd of 20+. In recent times we can add sheep and goats. We have looked after suburban properties and rural/semi-rural with water tanks and septic systems, pumps and bio-cycles.

We can provide excellent references upon request. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Debra and Tom

Kaz

  • ACT, NSW, Alice Springs, Darwin, QLD, SA, TAS

My name is Kaz, and I am an experienced house/pet sitter. I am 67 years old, non smoker, and love animals - particularly dogs. My last 4 legged companion (Tigger - a retired Greyhound) passed away several years ago. His passing (at the ripe old age of 14) meant I could take on new ventures.

I love new places, and looking after furry kids - fishy, feathered kids if necessary!!

Having worked in extremely remote communities over a 10 year period, I am organised and adaptable, and would look after your home and pets as I would my own. Up until late 2014, I owned my own home. I sold, in preparation to moving to country NSW in November of 2016. I have been permanently housesitting since 2010.

In March of 2014, I closed my landline crystal and mineral business, and moved to selling online. Which means that I work from home. I have my own internet connection, and chose Telstra as my provider, as their coverage is (generally!!) greater.

I am happy to provide details of referees. I have regular clients, and house/pet sit for some of them several times per year....

Some feedback from clients:

"It is always reassuring to know the dogs can be at home rather than in kennels We were able to enjoy planning the trip and then eventually being away with your great service. The dogs were well cared for and obviously enjoyed your presence very much so we are happy too!! No problem if you use these comments". Joe and Anne, Perth, WA

"We were very happy with Kaz. Fergie is a rather strong and dominant rescue dog with a few problems such as separation anxiety and we came back to find her actually better than when we left! So much so, that I have asked Kaz to meet up for a walk with the dog so I can learn from how she handles her!

For the first time ever, our cat had not pined and lost weight. The house was neat and tidy and Kaz had go above and beyond in every respect." Carol and Punch, Perth, WA.

Referee's contact details available on request.

Active, healthy non smoking couple - social drinkers only - aged 68. Self employed prior to retiring with a background in family farming followed by tourism when we owned and ran holiday accommodation for ten years where cleanliness was of prime importance. Our business consisted of 10 cottages and 3 acres of grounds and garden which we maintained ourselves.

Wide interests including interior decorating, gardening, reading, music, natural history, bush walking, travel, and how life ticks in general! Since retiring, we are keen to see more of our great country and would love to come to your part of the world and would consider it a privilege to care for your home.

What we offer:
Lifelong experience with and love of all animals. We have always had a variety of pets as well as caring for the farm animals. Enjoy gardening and happy to care for your garden as well as pets. Experienced in general repairs and maintenance if the necessity arises.
Having always owned our own home (except for renting for 15 months following the sale of our business and whilst considering our options), we understand the importance of having someone trustworthy and reliable to care for and maintain and care for your home and pets. We have now been house sitting for over 6 years and looked after 50 homes and various animals.

Happy to provide references and Police clearance.

Ngaire & Adam

  • ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC, WA

We are a close knit, fun loving little family of 3. Myself, Ngaire, I'm an Osteopath and own my business so need only be in the clinic 1 day a week, or sometimes not at all, and the rest of the time I can work from home. My husband, Adam, who works for a pharmaceutical company, and our 5 year old daughter Maeve, who just loves life, people, nature and animals.

In March 2018 we took off on an adventure around Australia for 6months, however we decided to rent our Essendon home out before then, and house sit full time for 7 months. Initially we thought we would return to our Essendon home following our trip, but we fell in love with house sitting! Meeting some wonderful people and forming great bonds with pets was a bonus we hadn't anticipated, and so we have chosen to continue house sitting indefinitely. We are non smokers, who take pride in our home and possessions, and care for anyone else's home like we would our own. We understand how it feels to trust someone else with your home and pets, and we take the responsibility seriously.

We are happy to care for your home, keep it neat and clean, do extra little jobs and you can trust that your house will be in the same great condition you left it upon your return. We love to explore as a family, and enjoy walking dogs or taking them out and about. We would be pleased to care for any animal in whatever they need.

Maeve is a gentle and kind 5year old who understands appropriate behaviour with pets of all types, and is very used to the house sitting lifestyle and the behaviour that is required. Obviously, we need to care only for animals who are comfortable with children, so that we make sure she is safe. She also understands caring for other people's property and is no problem in a home that hasn't been "child proofed". You won't even notice she has been there!

Previous house sitting roles have involved us caring for 3 dogs at a time, 4 cats and multiple fish in one house in the heat of summer. We are up to the challenge! We are also fine, with just a small dog who loves a cuddle, we are pretty flexible! Our experience also extends to chooks, rabbits and turtles.

We have looked after a number of homes with both pools and spas and are happy to maintain these for you with appropriate instruction for your specific requirements. Maeve is a very strong swimmer for her age, being used to both pools and and the ocean. Although we of course supervise her at all times, we have no concerns about her in a property with a pool.

As a family we love spending time exploring new places, having coffee with friends and just being together. We get out and about but also enjoy time at home so your pets would have company too. We love spending time at the beach, or catching the train to the city for an explore, and of course if there is a great park around, we love a play! We are a footy loving family, though we don't agree on our teams ;-).

We would love to hear from anyone looking for down to earth, relaxed but hard working people to care for your house or pets. We are open minded for any types of property.

We have police checks and references available (you will find many attached to our profile). Please feel free to contact us with any questions at all that you may have. We are so excited for the next chapter and the variety that house sitting brings and look forward to hearing from you!

Hi everyone and many thanks for viewing our profile !

Because of current back-to-back house sits, our next availability is from approx 4/12/19.

So far, we have (successfully!) completed house sits in NSW, VIC and WA..

We have chosen to provide professional house sitting services as recently we had a business purchase fall over at the very last minute. Having sold our home to do so, and with all our furniture and belongings in storage awaiting the removalist to deliver, the business transaction had to be stopped and left us very disappointed to say the least. Add to this we were "homeless" (though our eldest daughter did throw us a lifeline, and a bed!) as well as Leesa resigned from her job.

Nevertheless, this all happened for a reason and we are firm believers in this.

Hence, this is our new adventure !

We are both 52 years old, healthy, non-smokers and enjoy socialising. We offer financial stability and have had a lot of owner occupied and investment properties.

We have won numerous awards as business owners and employees, and are well known for being very easy to get along with, plus both being Virgo's, we're VERY clean and tidy !

Travel is high on our agenda, now our daughters have completed their schooling and established their working lives. We feel house sitting can provide us loads of opportunities to travel extensively.

Part of our offering is that we will provide our own linen/pillows, as well as bring our Wi-Fi if required.

We have current National Police checks completed, as well as numerous references.

Due to allergies, we are unable to look after most animals, though (eg) birds and fish should be fine.

We would love to talk to you about your home and how we can help look after it for you, so please give us a call any day of the week.

Regards, Steve and Leesa.

My wife and I own and operate an online business, established almost 8 years ago. The majority of our customers are world wide. As a result, we are permanent travelers, but need to be in Australia to visit with grand kids and assorted family! We are animal lovers, and recently gave away 2 fabulous cats to a good home. (Normally our sons look after the cats, but they all recently left the family home in New Zealand!) We now have good experience in house sitting, we are very responsible people, and would treat your home as we would ours, and the animals and garden would be treated the same. My wife is extremely house proud, and loves to potter about in the garden . She is an extremely organised person and she looks after the house and me very well! Kays Dad was in the 2000 Queens Honors List in New Zealand (R. J. SHARP ONZM, For services to Dairying), because he invented the herringbone milking shed in New Zealand in 1952. Only took 48 years to get recognised. We can provide good personal references. We are non smokers. Broadband or good internet access would be needed.

We are returning to Australia after a long career in education in the United States. A family member's severe illness precipitated our move, and we wish to re-immigrate. We spent 6 months in Oz during 2017 and 2018, and enjoyed our housesitting experiences while we were there. We came back to the U.S. to sell our home, but will return to Australia on May 18. In addition to housesitting in Australia, we have our own pets in the U.S., and have looked after our neighbors' homes, plants, and pets while they've been out of town for many years. Our acre property in the U.S. was in the high desert, and had a swimming pool, so we understand the maintenance involved. We would strongly prefer to be near public transport as we currently do not own a car in Australia. We have a quiet lifestyle, and will treat your home and pets with care and respect. We are two retired, active, music and food loving schoolteachers with a penchant for travelling and enjoying new experiences. We have been involved in house and pet sitting for many years and in many places throughout Australia and overseas. While we have a home in Adelaide, we enjoy a nomadic lifestyle in our motorhome, which makes it unfair to have pets of our own. Housesitting allows us to indulge our love of animals and over the years we have cared for many dogs, cats, birds, horses, sheep, goats, cattle and the like, with dogs, whether big and boisterous or small and cuddly, being our special love. We are also meticulous in the attention we give to each property, whether it be an apartment, a suburban block or a rural spread. Recent experiences have included a 10 month stint on a Daintree acreage, return visits to a horse property and 3 months caring for two houses in the south of France. As Tony is something of a dab hand at housework and property maintenance and Helen is an expert at quality control, you can rest assured that your property and pets will be cared for as if they are our own. We will happily provide you with contact details for phone referees if required.

We are a couple in our early 60’s – recently retired who enthusiastically enjoy house sitting because it allows us to provide a valuable personalized service to home owners. Nothing gives us more pleasure than making home owners feel comfortable with being away from home, knowing their house is in good hands until the owner's return. We're very grateful to all our wonderful clients for the opportunities they have granted us through inviting us into their homes and lives. We receive trust, and in exchange, we provide loving care. We are non-smokers who are honest, reliable and dependable house sitters who will respect your property and personal things. Our background was in education. We have owned a home and are fully conscious of the care and security needed in keeping a house (including a pool) maintained. Also we have had pets that lived very long comfortable lives because we treated them as part of our family. We will care for your pets as if they were part of our own family. We have had experience in house/pet sitting before and we have references available on request.

Hello. I am a retired senior federal public servant, mature (sadly!), married woman looking to do some house sitting. I live with my husband in our own home on the Gold Coast and we currently have a dog and a cat. I am an experienced "pet" person, having had all manor of animals in my home, from mice, birds, fish to cats and dogs. Our own dog (a kelpie) is currently 7 years old and a very crazy young thing, needing lots and lots of exercise. He was supposed to be an outside dog, but somehow that rule hasn't been fully applied! Our cat is almost 4 and is very much busy with chasing the dog around. I am able to garden, clean the pool, look after the house and pets. I am a non smoker. Though I plan to "house sit" usually by myself, there would be times when my husband would join me for a short break. We are both thoroughly house trained! We are planning to formally retire in a few years and I feel that house sitting in different places would help me to get a feel for various districts by living like a local, rather than as a tourist. I am most happy to look after pets and would look after your home well. I have now done many house sits (and many return sits) and can forward names and contact details for these house owners as references. I have a written personal character reference that I can send on to you as well. Hopefully all will tell you how wonderful I am. Oh, and also that I am honest, reliable and trustworthy. You can email me on eevahelena@yahoo.com.au anytime. My preference is for short breaks, up to three weeks or so, and around the ACT or anywhere in NSW. Thanks. Eeva

I am single non smoker, tidy and clean and like dogs, cats and have kept them for family/relatives. Also have looked after fish tank and the odd rabbit and guinea pigs. I like walking the dogs and they seem to respond when I signal them. Cats are just too easy, just make sure they have catnip when the fur balls are threatening their peace. I have minded houses for friends and relatives though not asked reference for those instances. Happy to do a few weeks at a time or longer if in Sydney. I am active so enjoy walking dogs morning and night. Have driver licence. Currently studying as mature student at TAFE for 2 days per week Ultimo. Happy to travel into city for class and come back at night. Diligent in following owners' preferences for taking care of their pets. Familiar with North Sydney and Mosman as started living in North Sydney in 2001. Was raised in New Zealand where pets are allowed in home with access to garden. Have travelled to the UK, Europe and Asia. Let me know if there's anything else I can tell you about myself.

Hello
I am a mature, considerate woman who feels that people's 'homes' in very
many ways, reveal who they really are. I am house proud and clean and
while I am staying in your home I treat it with the respect and consideration
that it deserves.

I have looked after numerous homes in the past few decades, some of my house
sits lasting for 6 months at a time.

I am an animal lover and have experience with dogs, cats, fish, birds and sheep. I also take
care of plants and gardens be they inside or out.

I have excellent references; one of them a previous long term landlord and another a
house owner whose large home and pets I cared for on more than one occasion.
There are also references from shorter 'house sits'
that I have done here and there. I can also supply my latest house sit which extended some seven months.

I have a current police check and I do not smoke, nor am I a party goer. I spend much of my
spare time walking or writing.

Please email me any time if you feel I might be the right person to care of and love your home, pets and
plants while you are away.

I am a single female over 50 (non-smoker) employed in education (part-time). During some semesters and during semester breaks I work at home and other times I work one day per week for a few hours. That means I am at home to care for your pets full time or away only a partial day so I would be at home to care for your pets. As well, I have over two years experience with house sitting, where my experience includes three cats at one sit, three dogs at one house sit, birds, fish and cattle with more than seven references indicating excellent care for both home and pets. My goal is to provide excellence in the care of your pets and home. As well I have a police check. In the past I have had the opportunity to house sit/manage a bed and breakfast, where owners were happy with my work. As well I have been house and pet sitting for over two years and receive excellent recommendations. Additionally, I have both rented and owned a home with positive comments on the care of my home and garden. Pets" I grew up with all types of animals including dogs, cats horses and chickens. Animals seem to know I will care for them and react positively to me. My experience with pets includes obedience training. If you are especially interested in my care of your home, I would say that some of my friends might say that I spend too much time cleaning/organising my home and taking care of my yard-- but I enjoy it. For one home, the neighbors labeled my yard as the best cared for with its green grass (that I grew from almost nothing) and lovely flowers. My past times are simple including walking/jogging, reading, movies/tv, gardening and socialising with friends and family. I enjoy a simple life. You can expect that no parties would be held at your property and my focus will be on caring for your pets/home. Sincerely Maz

I'm a mature aged, non-smoking female who has chosen to housesit as an alternative to renting. I've been housesitting since September 2011 and I really enjoy the lifestyle. House-sitting is a great way to save money until I can afford a place of my own, plus I enjoy experiencing different places. I love animals (was raised on a dairy farm), and am experienced in dealing with all their cute little quirks (and messes!) and providing a load of pats and affection if required. However, having a pet is not a requirement for me to house-sit.
I keep the homes I house-sit for in good condition and am very respectful of the homes I care for.. Owners have been very happy with the condition I leave their homes, gardens and pets in and I've had many return house-sits and referrals as a result. Any tasks that need to be done in your absence - like mail collection and putting out the bins - are part and parcel of the house-sitting lifestyle and I'm happy to do them for you.
I work at home part time for a super company and I also do some writing so I spend much of my time working on my computer. The good news for you is I'll be around to keep your pets company and hold down the forte, so your pets will be well looked after and your home will be well attended. I enjoy my own company and peace and quite around the house. When I'm at home it's just me, so you can rest assured that there won't be a continual procession of visitors stampeding through your home. Of course, I can go on about how responsible, reliable and trustworthy I am....but why not get in contact with me so you can decide for yourself. I have great referrences and a police check...what more can you ask for in a sitter?
