Gemalla (Schnauzer) and Katielina (Airedale) are our mature, friendly and very well trained mates and would like to travel/holiday with us although it's not a pre-requisite.We love all animals and believe that we would enjoy looking after your pets and care for them like our own. (Sorry but we are fully booked for the rest of 2017) Hi, my husband and I are recently retired teachers 61 and 62 who have lived and worked in the same area for 32 years. Of course as teachers we had regular police checks and we can also provide references. After retirement we went to Canada, Hawaii, Far North Queensland and Tasmania. Yes we have caught the travel bug! We are friendly, reliable and caring and now that our children have grown up and our beloved pets passed away we are rattling around our house with time on our hands. As a retired couple we are available for any length of time and we can plan to house sit everywhere in Australia for the next 12 months to 24 months after which time we hope our children will provide us with grandchildren to spoil. As my husband Ross is a very keen fisherman we try for locations close to good fishing areas. We love animals and we always look after all our friends and neighbours pets, houses, gardens and mail when they are away. One of them suggested pet and house sitting as it involves travelling, animals and gardening! We will take meticulous care of your house, mail, indoor plants, veggie gardens and lovingly look after dogs, cats, birds, fish, chooks, rabbits and guinea pigs. We are more than happy to be in touch with you prior to the pet and house sit and we can also give you updates during your trip so get in touch with us any time to discuss your needs and travel dates as we can accommodate our time to suit your needs. We prefer the northern areas of Australia during the winter months and we are looking forward to a visit to New Zealand in 2018. Ross is a keen fisherman and gardener, I adore reading and writing and tend to be more of a home body and we both really enjoy seeing new sights and meeting new people. You can leave knowing we will take extremely good care of your pets, house and garden and while you’re away. Ross and I are looking forward to getting to know you and giving your pets our love and attention. Prior to handover we would prefer a written list of your requirements and instructions including your mobile number and email address so we can make contact and get to know each other prior to your trip. We know the importance of trust in this relationship and can assure you of our honesty and love of animals, in fact we have found the hardest part of pet sitting is saying goodbye to the pets because we grow so fond of them. Jo and Ross Tanner
We love to meet new pets and visiting new places and have been enthusiastic house sitters for over six years - many repeat sits with the same owners. We are dedicated pet carers and gardeners, understanding that your pets, garden and house are very special. We would look after them with kind enthusiasm taking excellent care and paying attention to all the things required. We are both fit and well, are non-smokers and are very tidy and organised. We live in Victoria, love to travel and can do any duration of house sit whether in city or country. We are university graduates and take a keen interest in gardening, graphics, art, books, bird watching and walking. Chris is familiar with pumps, tanks and the workings of mowers etc as well as computers and has good problem solving skills.Full references with contact numbers can be provided upon request but here are a few:Rod and Lining - Cherrybrook NSW Chris and Fiona looked after our house and cat for about two months at the end of 2016. They were excellent house sitters and I can warmly recommend their services. They took great care with our possessions and treated the house as their own. They showed initiative to maintain the house and the garden. They kept the house spotless and the garden has never looked better than after Chris had applied his "green fingers". Throughout our absence they regularly informed us about any issues and this helped us to have enjoyable and worry-free holidays. Chris and Fiona are very good with animals and they took great care of the cat, goldfish and all. We thank them for everything and would have no hesitation to trust them with our property and animals in the future.Bob and Joan: Mullumbimby NSWChris and Fiona have been house sitters for us on 7 occasions. We have a 3 bedroom house and a flat attached to the garage. Our property is 1 1/4 acres. At all times they treated the house as their own and cared for it and the yard as if that what the case. They are both honest, caring, genuine people. We would recommend them as house sitters.Fred and Monica: Northern NSWI would like to offer this reference for Chris and Fiona, as they looked after our house and cat on three occasions and we were very happy with the outcome. We can definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a house/pet sitter.Sara and Leo - Repton NSWChris and Fiona house-sat for us for eight weeks taking care of our pets (chickens, rabbit, cat and fish) and home. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else looking for thoughtful and responsible house-sitters.
David and I have been house sitting for 2 years now and truly love this lifestyle. We have been fortunate enough to be continually on the move over this time and have returned to our first house sit a second time. David and I were original Sydney dwellers for 30 odd years and have always owned our own homes up until 2000. We had a hobby farm in Tasmania for 15 years, with farm animals including sheep, goats, chickens a horse, dogs and cats etc. We are familiar with living with tank water/ water pumps, wood heaters, septic systems and basic requirements for rural living. Leaving Tasmania in 2000 we rented in Sydney for a couple of years then moved to the Central Tablelands, NSW for 11 years where we rented a cabin on a 90 acre goat farm. During that time I did volunteer work on a regular basis for 8 years which involved 6 month periods away from home at a time staying with different families every week, so I am very accustomed to living in other peoples' homes. David worked as a full time carpenter in the local area accompanying me regularly on various trips. After leaving the central tablelands we both volunteered on a 7 acre retreat centre in Victoria for 7 months maintaining the property and looking after 3 acres of garden. We have been on the South Coast, NSW for almost 6 months now. I have a background in admin/bookkeeping and David is a carpenter. We are responsible and mature adults and have experienced many different lifestyles including living in Asia and Tibet. We enjoy the experience of new lifestyles and locations and feel that house sitting would be a great opportunity for us to do what we love and benefit the home owner do what they wish to do. At the moment we are on our 8th house sit and we have been invited back to our first house sit for another 3 months. Ideally we would like long term sits of 3-12 months or more preferably NSW and South East Queensland. Our interests include travelling, walking/hiking and water sports. We are both fit and healthy, don't drink or smoke and enjoy the outdoors. We feel that we are able to fit into a city or rural environment as we have lived in both and would certainly care for your home, garden and pets as if our own. We are more than happy to discuss any house sitting jobs, answer questions, provide references, police checks, photos etc and anything else you would like so as to feel comfortable and secure with the house sitter you have chosen. With kind regardsSusan and David Kirkwood

I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy. My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything. I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.Hope we can assist each other .
Two very quiet mature non smoking, non party, women who love classical music, and our beloved 11 year old Lab/staffy boy who is a quiet gentleman, and an inside dog, he travels with us now since we have stopped travelling overseas, we promised him we would never leave again. We have been house sitters over the years and locum managers for B&Bs, self catering cottages and small farms. We would now like to pet/house sit for other people. After lots of travelling during which we have had special people look after our beloved boy, we could enjoy our trips, we would now like to help others to enjoy their travels. Our beloved boy gets on with dogs, cats, chickens, sheep and horses and of course loves people. References can be supplied, and our police check is up to date Do you need us? We would be very pleased to help you enjoy your adventures.

I am a 47 year old female, single, non-smoker, non-drinker working in Forensic Sciences at Macleod so need to be able to commute daily. I have been employed in Forensics since July 2001. I have recently sold my home in Kilsyth and am keen to just "chill out" for the next few years without a mortgage....ahhh mortgage free for a few years is a wonderful thought. I love all animals whether furry, feathered, hooved etc and currently have an old husky of my own, Dylan is 11 1/2 years old. (house trained, doesn't dig or destroy property, she sleeps most of day now :) ) I volunteer at RSPCA Burwood every second Friday for the day. Being a home owner myself (until recently) I understand the gravity of inviting a stranger into your home to care for it, I can assure you that I would respect your home as if it was my own. I love being outdoors and active. Gardening is one of my passions, so if you have a garden that you need nurtured and not just kept, I would be glad to help out. I have my own trailer so I'm quite willing and able to lay some mulch or do a tip run if the garden needs it. If you think I may fit the bill, please, get in touch with me and we can meet to discuss your needs. Long term house sitting eg 6 - 12 months would be quite suitable for me as I must move out of my house by December 21st 2015.
We are a professional couple located in Canberra and have previously completed a local house sit in between the sale of our house and the purchase of our new one. We have a seventeen year old daughter who loves school and enjoys part-time work. She is a mature young lady who loves animals of all shapes and sizes. We enjoy meeting and looking after new furry friends during house sits and our daughter currently does this in our home for Don't Fret Pet. We are clean and tidy non-smokers who respect other peoples property and privacy. Whilst we don't have Happy Housesitters references we are happy to forward both of our work histories which include over two decades service in the AFP and an executive HR management role with a not-for-profit.Our house sitting interest at the moment is for holiday breaks (either in or out of school holidays) as a family, or sometimes individually as I (Tony) don't work full time. Occasionally I am happy to get away for a break by myself. My wife encourages it;-)If you are after a small family who will take care of your pets and home as if they were their own then we would love to help.

Hi there, I'm a semi retired 50 something male (non smoker) who looks after people's pets and homes. I have had many happy clients, including lots of dogs and cats and horses and cows (see pics); I'm sure their owners are happy too. I have many references from pet owners who you can speak to; including police personnel, doctors and business owners, so you can check my bona fides.I have much rural experience and I'm rather handy with tractors, diggers, ride on lawn mowers, chainsaws and the like. Homes in my care have varied from farms to cute cottages to executive palaces and high security homes. My preferences are northern rivers of NSW / sthn Queensland and the greater Sydney area. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks :) Available from 19 November 2014.

We are two retired, active, music and food loving schoolteachers with a penchant for travelling and enjoying new experiences. We have been involved in house and pet sitting for many years and in many places throughout Australia and overseas. While we have a home in Adelaide, we enjoy a nomadic lifestyle in our motorhome, which makes it unfair to have pets of our own. Housesitting allows us to indulge our love of animals and over the years we have cared for many dogs, cats, birds, horses, sheep, goats, cattle and the like, with dogs, whether big and boisterous or small and cuddly, being our special love. We are certainly respectful, house-proud sitters, with Tony being a dab hand at housework and gardening while Helen is something of an expert at quality control, and you can rest assured that your property and pets will be cared for as if they are our own. We will happily provide you with contact details for phone referees if required.
Hello. I am a retired, mature (sadly!), married woman looking to do some house sitting. I live with my husband in our own home on the Gold Coast and we currently have a dog and a cat. I am an experienced "pet" person, having had all manor of animals in my home, from mice, birds, fish to cats and dogs. Our own dog (a kelpie) is currently 7 years old and a very crazy young thing, needing lots and lots of exercise. He was supposed to be an outside dog, but somehow that rule hasn't been fully applied! Our cat is almost 4 and is very much busy with chasing the dog around. I am able to garden, clean the pool, look after the house and pets. I am a non smoker. Though I plan to "house sit" usually by myself, there would be times when my husband would join me for a short break. We are both thoroughly house trained! We are planning to formally retire in a few years and I feel that house sitting in different places would help me to get a feel for various districts by living like a local, rather than as a tourist. I am most happy to look after pets and would look after your home well. I have now done many house sits (and many return sits) and can forward names and contact details for these house owners as references. I have a written personal character reference that I can send on to you as well. Hopefully all will tell you how wonderful I am. Oh, and also that I am honest, reliable and trustworthy. You can email me on firstname.lastname@example.org anytime. My preference is for short breaks, up to three weeks or so, and around the ACT or anywhere in NSW. Thanks. Eeva

Our passion has been to build or renovate our homes. One of these homes was a farm with a small flock of sheep and various other livestock and pets.Suzanne is a retired registered nurse and Larry a retired firefighter. Our activities include yoga, hiking, cooking and travel. We are responsible, active folks who would care for your home and pet(s) as if they were our own.We are non-smokers and will provide additional references if requested.Larry and Suzanne Peacock

HelloMy husband and I are a retired English couple whose son is now living in Melbourne Victoria. We want to explore Australia with a view of emmigrating to Australia and we see house sitting as a way in which we could do this. Looking after someones house and or pets would help us get a real feel of the area. We have experience in looking after dogs and cats having had our own and looked after family members pets when they go on holidays. We are in our late 50's early 60's and are fit. We love walking and are houseproud, so would look after your home. My husband is very practical, a handyman around the house able to solve most maintainance issues. We could supply references if required however, communication between us, potential sitters and house owners will put both our minds at rest..We will be available from November 2017 until July 2018.We would be very interested in a housesit over the Xmas New Year that would be open to us inviting some of our family to stay over. We would be very responsible and respectful of your property and pets at this time.Roger and PhyllisI have attached below a character reference from my colleague at my place of work for 23 years. To whom it may concern.I have known Phyllis Austin in excess of 23 years both as a work colleague and as a friend. She was employed by Tesco Stores Limited in various managerial roles including Customer Service Manager responsible for the well being and training of over 120 staff, before ending up as a Compliance Manager in Newton Abbot store,This role involved ensuring that the store remained safe and legal at all times. This meant liaising with the rest of the management team from Store Manager down to make sure that they completed all of their legal training such as Health and Safety, Fire and Pest Control.During my time working with Phyllis she was always diligent and thorough and had a way of ensuring that everything was completed to tight timescales through her manner, encouraging others to do their best, and coaching/training whenever necessary. Part of her duties included being in charge of the store as a duty manager, and this task she completed with ease.I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any role that she applied for as I know that her integrity and honesty are second to none.If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.Paul FosterCustomer Experience ManagerNewton Abbot 2920This is a confidential email. Hi There! We are Mimi & Kurt and we have a great passion for travel, philanthropy work and are big animal lovers. We are planning towards opening our own animal shelter & adoption centre in the near future. We currently receive a steady income working online and this flexibility allows us to travel the world - generally for both volunteer work and leisure. However, no matter where we are we will always call Australia home :).We are huge foodies and love spending most of our time at home relaxing, cooking and cuddling up with any fur babies in our care. As we both work from home we can guarantee that all pets will have company 24/7. We have extensive experience looking after animals within the family as well as volunteering at the RSPCA in QLD. When we are not home we love spending time getting fit outdoors at parks or the beach. If your pet needs a lot of exercise we are definitely the right choice for you!We are very house-proud people and non-smokers who like to keep a very clean home. Kurt also has had many years of experience as a landscaper and as a result he will be able to tend to your garden and ensure it is maintained where required. We look forward to taking care of your home and pets! :)
My name is Sam, I'm 22 and a qualified emergency vet nurse and current vet student at Sydney University. I am quiet and clean, and spend most of my time studying, working or doting over animals. I love caring for animals of all types, particularly cats and dogs, and am trained to know when something is wrong with your pet- meaning you can enjoy your holiday knowing your beloved fur baby is in good hands!I love pet sitting and experiencing the wide variety of personalities I see in the animals I look after- no pet is ever the same as another and I love getting to know them all!I am looking for both long and short term house/pet sitting opportunities that ideally are located closer to my work and/or university, as I live quite a distance from both. I am always happy to accommodate and tweak my services for any special needs, be it those of your pet (medications, physiotherapy requirements, etc) or those of your home (watering plants, mowing lawns, etc).I hope to hear from you soon!
Helen 29yr old: Health Professional & full time student currently.I am an experienced house/pet sitter and animal lover and i would love to take care of your home and pets.* What kind of person am I?I am a responsible, trustworthy, tidy and clean Australian born non-smoking woman and I love meeting new people. I am a young but mature Sydney city woman (29 years old). I am an experienced house/pet sitter, and have over 1.5 years of full time house/pet sitting experience. I am currently undertaking my 15th House/pet sit and i have future ones booked in. I am down to earth, reliable, practical, friendly and take great pride in providing a fantastic service. This means that you come home to a clean and tidy house and happy well looked after pets.Helen: I am a Registered Psychologist and I am not currently working. Instead I have returned to full time university study in the city to complete my Masters in Clinical Psychology and I often study from home. This means that you will have excellent home security, and i can spend lots of time with your pets. I will be finishing my studies in 2017. I have a National Police Certificate and working with childrens check. As a psychologist I have a very high level of security clearance- one that is just under ASIO so you can be assured that i am a trustworthy person.• What kind of service do I provide?- I am 24/7 house sitter, so i provide excellent home security and often spend time at home.- I am a pet carer who loves animals just as much as you do and will go above and beyond to make sure that your pet is happy, healthy and not disrupted in their routine. I only take on 1 house sit at a time to provide a thorough service.- I will take thoroughly good care of your pets and their needs as requested (meals, any medicine, brush them, give them any worming tablets, keep them company and spend time walking or playing with them). - Of course in an emergency situation, I will contact you and drive them to their personal vet. - I will send you regular email/texts/ photo updates of your place and pets so you can see how they are travelling and so you don't miss them too much.- Collect the mail daily & send you any mail that you’ve requested via email.- Maintain any indoor or outdoor plants, water, remove leaves from pathways & pools etc as needed.- I will clean your home before you arrive so that you come back to a nice clean home.- I leave fresh food in the fridge before your arrival so you can relax once you’ve come back home (I will ask you what you would like e.g. milk, bread, fruit) - I will start your car if needed to ensure that the battery doesn’t go flat. I won’t be using your car as I have my own- You even get a little surprise to say thank you :) - I provide a comprehensive service as I create a task checklist for each day so that I ensure that all daily tasks are completed. As I like to be thorough in my work, I also have a written out agreement of instructions that we both fill out and sign so that all duties are clear and so I have authority to be staying in your home (detailed instructions, vet and emergency contact numbers, pet quirks)- Any extra tasks feel free to ask me* Why am I house/pet sitting? I have been asked this question & it's a fair question! Well house sitting is allowing me to save money as a full time student so that I may buy my own home one day. I also love pets and I don't have my own (other than the family cat, dog and budgies :) ) so it is wonderful to be able to spend time with the beautiful pets that I mind. They provide such companionship. Also, I absolutely love the adventure and variety of living in new places around Sydney and meeting new people like you! Even though I intended to house/pet sit only whilst I studied, I plan to continue house/pet sitting in the future even once I stop studying, because I now LOVE the lifestyle, variety and adventure of it all.* House/pet sitting experienceI have been pet/house sitting since April 2015. Also, I have lived out of home before & I have had many pets (cats, dogs, chickens, fish, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, the odd insect.. ) my whole life so I understand the responsibilities of looking after a household and pets. I am happy to send you my references. Here are some examples of my house sitting experience so far for the 21 months. 1. Frenchs Forest: 4 rescue cats, hermit crabs and a fighting fish. 2. At the moment I don't have any pets but I LOVE animals. Over the year I have saved, looked after and fostered out 23 stray kittens which I am very proud of. Also, I have had pet sitting experience with dogs, kittens, cats, birds, fish, hermit crabs, frogs & experience with worming, kitty litters, baths, sick pets & some difficult pets. I understand that each pet has their own unique personality and requirements, in the same way people do.Thus hopefully you will notice that I have a lot of house/pet sitting experience.Notes: Also, I have a car so I would be able to take your pet to the vet quickly should there ever be an emergency.* Do I sound like the kind of house/pet sitters you would like? If so, then I hope to help to look after your home and pet. I would love to talk over the phone or meet you so we can get to know each other.I also have a photo of myself so you can start to get to know me :)I look forward to hearing from you.Kind Regards Helen
Hi there-PREFERRED SITS ARE MELBOURNE! BUT I DON'T MIND THE ODD HOLIDAY SOMEWHERE LOVELY TOO!!!! I love animals and regularly donate my time and money to help out animal rescue and the RSPCA, I come with amazing references of people that I've met online and sat for and from good friends who I have sat for, one being Mel Scott of Purrticular Photography, you can find her on Instagram and a cute pic of myself in a fairy costume and her gorgeous cat. I also work for ARJ BARKER from Flight of the Conchords and other tv, comedy, he is my reference also.I work in promo, comedy and fitness, my hours vary, I'm 36, responsible, tidy, healthy, non smoker and I have a Working with Children check recently as I work as a babysitter and kids entertainer too.
We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple. We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia. We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years! We have, of course got references and a police check. Currently we are available for the following period:Mid-Dec 2017 to mid-Jan 2018 (4/5 weeks) when we will be extending an already planned Oct/Nov visit to our daughter who lives in Sydney. The tickets are booked and paid!Dick/Ann
Hello My husband and I are a married retired couple that have had a lot of experience housesitting in Canberra and would look after your home as we look after our own and believe that it is very important to leave someones home clean and tidy as we found it. We both love animals and have a dog and cat of our own.If possible we would bring a little tiny Foxy with us if possible if that is a problem We are both non smokers. The reason we wish to housesit in Canberra is that my mother is living in Canberra in a Nursing Home at Weston and we would like to spend more time with her as she is getting elderly. We are available to housesit from early December
HelloI am a mature, considerate woman who feels that people's 'homes' in verymany ways, reveal who they really are. I am house proud and clean andwhile I am staying in your home I treat it with the respect and considerationthat it deserves.I have looked after numerous homes in the past few decades, some of my housesits lasting for 6 months at a time.I am an animal lover and have experience with dogs, cats, fish, birds and sheep. I also takecare of plants and gardens be they inside or out. I have excellent references; one of them a previous long term landlord and another ahouse owner whose large home and pets I cared for on more than one occasion. There are also references from shorter 'house sits'that I have done here and there. I can also supply my latest house sit which extended some seven months.I have a current police check and I do not smoke, nor am I a party goer. I spend much of my spare time walking or writing. Please email me any time if you feel I might be the right person to care of and love your home, pets and plants while you are away.
Professional, Respectful and Responsible House/Pet Sitter! Single - 35 Years Old - Non-smoker - Social Drinker (rare) - Vegetarian. Having experience in UK, NSW, WA and now SA and Victoria, with a variety of animals including domestic cats, dogs, birds, fish, horses and a pony, I offer you and your pets with the care-free companionship they require during your time away. Being both an animal lover and home-body, I dedicate my time to offering all furkids as close to the usual home life that each are accustomed, whilst ensuring any other needs around your home and your property are met. I can provide references with regard to previous sits in NSW, Vic, SA, WA and the UK, prior to discussing or meeting in order to assist with your decision making. I have testimonials uploaded directly to my profile. Recent sits since returning to NSW have resulted in a great deal of call-backs and most of '17 has come from repeats/referrals; my availability is maintained as best as possible on my profile but please run dates past me and I'll ensure I get back to confirm if I can accommodate. I have offers for repeats in late 2017 and early 2018 at this stage but nothing was confirmed due to my own preferences...As you may notice from my pictures, I do come with my own little dog and this has not been a problem in securing sits along the way. I can provide more images and some videos of Sammy with other animals to help reassure you but references speak for themselves about how Sam behaves in other peoples homes and how I will maintain and leave your property (generally the cleanliness is greatly appreciated which is a rewarding part of my role when owners return after a busy work trip or rested holiday). Sam was a rescue but has lived with me with other dogs, in addition to our house/pet sits; 2 x JRT's and a Greyhound, and before I re-homed him he lived with other dogs in at least one foster home. He'll be 6 years old by October and I'll have had him 4 years...Sam and I have helped on a 100 acre property in SA with horses, that was 30 mins away from a local town, in a small rural town in Victoria with inside cats and outside dogs, that was approx. 90 mins to local shopping options, as well as being central in Sydney with no animals, and the perks of everything being very accessible. I have also looked after a menagerie of animals on a farm property in the UK prior to moving over to Australia in 2008. All these sits identify the variety of homes, gardens and animals I have successfully managed whilst working office hours OR from home and/or studying in the past. I can provide a comprehensive list of the diverse sits I have had most recently both traveling across Australia or around NSW but now only accepting Sydney/surrounding.I commenced a part-time role in the beginning of June and just re-joined this website after altering my plans. I am now booked into October in South-Western Sydney with two house sits; I'll maintain my part-time role alongside casual online studies and voluntary work until I finalise plans for further part or full time study next year. None of this affects my capacity to care for you home or animal(s) as long as they're used to you being out of the house or at work at least part time. I can also provide a link to my profile on Aussie House Sitters for further references/testimonials/endorsements.We look forward to hearing from you!Nicola & Sammy
