Hi I am a single, mature female. This is a time of exploration for me, I work as a casual, agency, theatre nurse, a job that can take me all around Australia. My children are grown and I am free to enjoy different places and people. I have always had animals and love nothing more than the unconditional love they bring to life. I am vegetarian, I neither smoke nor drink and I have practiced and taught yoga and meditation for the past 30 years.
I look forward to the opportunity to house sit for you,
Jan

Yvonne & Michael

  • ACT, Rural/Regional NSW, Alice Springs, Darwin, Bris. Northern suburbs, Toowoomba & South Eastern, Mid North, South, TAS, Northern Vic, SE Vic, SW Vic, WA

Michael and I love dogs and animals. In fact dogs go out of their way to say hello to Michael whenever they encounter him. They instinctively know that he is trustworthy and cares about them. We had two dogs for seventeen years and really miss the walks so taking your pets for a walk would be a delightful pastime for us.
We would care for your home as if it were our own and that means it would be kept spotless and well maintained. We are non smokers and very health conscious so no toxic chemicals would be used by us when cleaning your place.
We are a mature couple who work from home, wherever that may be at the time, and spend our time visiting our family and friends who are located in parts of NSW, QLD and Vic.

Linda Lee & Steven David

  • Alice Springs, Darwin, Melb. NE suburbs

Steve is a freelance nature photographer and I am a freelance nature & outdoor travel writer. We spend most of our time roaming Australia taking photos and writing articles, and from time to time we like to take a break to catch up on work and to spend time in one place caring for animals and/or tending to a home and garden. We are both animal-lovers, and the only drawback to our lifestyle is that we can't have pets. Steve was previously a primary and middle school teacher in a number of schools in the Melbourne area. I was a child-therapist many moons ago before becoming a full-time freelance writer. We are both originally from the United States but we are now proud Australia citizens (a process that included police background checks). We will care for your animals, and your home and garden, as if it were our own. Please visit our website at Natural Wanders for more information on our work and our background. You may also want to visit our Pet & House Sitting Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LindaStevePetSitting.
-We are a non-smoking, vegetarian, married couple who will keep your home tidy and clean and your pets happy and safe.
-We work from 'home', in this case your home, so we would not be leaving your animals for long periods during the day.
-We would not invite others to your home, and aside from a glass of wine or a beer with dinner, we don't drink.
-We have respect for the privacy and property of others: simply close the doors of (or advise us of) rooms you do not want us to go in and we won't!
-Once we accept a housesit, we do not back out unless there is a dire emergency. Please email us if you have any questions. Thank you.
*For your protection, we are email, phone & address certified, identity verified via document check, letters of recommendation. We had police checks when we went through the process of becoming Australian citizens.

  • ACT, Alice Springs, Darwin, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Mackay & Whitsundays, Rockhampton, Cairns, Townsville, SA, TAS, Melbourne, WA

We are a small family from Holland. Marc, Jody and our little 2 year old daughter Saar.

We want to see all of Australia, so we are looking for housesits anywhere.

We want to stay in Melbourne until april.
However between mid february and beginning of march we are looking for a housesit somewhere else. Who lives outside of Victoria and needs a housesit in that period? Let us know!

We love animals, have 2 dogs in Holland, but prefer not to sit dogs here as we want to be able to go for days aways once in a while.
Cats are no problem.

I am a recently seperated sinlge mum with 2 daughters who are 12 & 10yrs of age. I completed a Bachelor's at USC in 2015 and this year I intend to do a post grad by long distance. I have a vision of starting a few projects. Organising these takes up most of my time. My daughters are well behaved, quiet, tidy and they adore any kind of animal especially pugs & ragdoll cats. We have come from a home that had dogs, cats & fish and we are all capable of caring for any pets and would enjoy doing so. We have a strong Christian faith and will value and respect you and what is of value to you. I am a non smoker. I would prefer long term sitting but am happy to help out for short term as well. We are seeking to house sit to help us save money as rental prices are so expensive at the moment. Thanks so much for considering us.

Hi! I'm friendly, respectful, responsible, conscientious and clean, and currently taking extended time off from work. I would be happy to look after your home and pets.

I moved to Sydney several years ago to work in a not-for-profit renewable energy advocacy organisation as a community organiser. I loved my job, but it's an intense and emotionally draining line of work, and so I'm taking a long-overdue sabbatical to rest, recharge and regroup. I think of it as taking a year of my retirement early. So far I've spent this time helping people out by house-sitting in a number of places, while also keeping up several hobbies and getting involved in some local volunteer activities.

I grew up with dogs, walking and feeding them every day, but I've also had experience living with and looking after other pets. I've recently finished house-sits in Sale (VIC), Melbourne and Busselton (WA); I'm currently house-sitting a place in the Blue Mountains (NSW), and will be house-sitting a place in Sydney after this. Across all of these I've looked after a dog, a cat, eight chickens, gardens, and, of course, the houses themselves. I have some great references that I'd be happy to provide.

I'm an outgoing, active and outdoorsy person, though I'm fairly quiet when at home. I will happily spend my time looking after your house and pets, reading, practising my cello, going bushwalking and jogging, volunteering in things like local bush re-vegetation projects, and occasionally going out to spend time with friends. I also hope to pick up a bit of tutoring work to provide me with some food money.

I haven't yet applied for a police check, but I'm happy to if you need.

I'm also happy to share with you anything else about me that you'd like to know, and I look forward to meeting you, your home, and your beloved pets.

Ros

Hi. My old border collie is now watching over my garden so I am headed for a sea/tree change and available to give your pets the same level of attention and care. I have looked after dogs, cats, chooks, gardens and pools in the NT, Vic. and, most recently, NSW. I will treat your home with the same respect as my own.

I am a non-smoker and have a current Working With Children Check (the vetting process includes a national police check). I would be happy to provide contact details for human referees as required.

I look forward to hearing from you!

  • Sydney, Central Coast, Hunter Valley, North Coast, South Coast, Darwin, Brisbane, South Eastern, Northern QLD, Melbourne, Perth

Hello! My name's Madeline. I'm Brisbane born and bred, however have spent the past couple of years living in Sydney to pursue my career in broadcast media. I arrived back in Brisbane around 4 months ago and have been helping my step mum out with my little brother and sister (7 year old twins!).

As you can imagine, the house gets quite full at times so I'd like to be able to give them some space from time to time. My contract with work is only until September so I don't want to go on a lease, meaning house sitting is perfect for me!

I'm clean, honest, reliable and a non smoker who has been living in share houses for years. I will respect your space and your belongings and take the best care of your pets! I have enclosed two written references, one from my landlord in Ashgrove of 3 years, Carmel Fellows and another from a previous employee. My current boss will be happy to speak to you on the phone if you require.

Veronika & Ladislav

  • Sydney, Central Coast, Hunter Valley, North Coast, South Coast, Alice Springs, Darwin, QLD, TAS, WA

2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND 5-STAR REFERENCES FROM 7 SITS WITH 8 DOGS & 4 CATS

We are are Veronika (30) and Ladislav (32), a couple of animal lovers and experienced sitters (we can provide 7 verified references). We come from the Czech Republic, but for the past two years we've been traveling the world and house sitting while working online from wherever we are.

We are responsible, non-smokers and definitely not party people. In our free time, we enjoy being outside, keeping ourselves fit by walking, running, hiking and cycling, Veronika is also practising yoga. When we are tired from sports, we like to relax by reading a good book.

ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE:

We both come from families of animal lovers which naturally transferred over us – Veronika grew up with 2 dogs, a very clever crossbreed saved from the street, and a big black Labrador. Ladislav, on the other hand, is the "cat person" in the relationship as his family has always had cats (all of them with funny names like „Ozzy“ after Ozzy Osborne or „Spock“ after the Star Trek character :-)).

During our previous house sits we took care of eight lovely dogs, four cats and one rabbit. We think that animals, as well as humans, need to feel that they are loved - and that is something we can promise we can deliver. As we both like being active, we welcome all energetic dogs that can show us around and give us yet another reason for that long walk, hike or run. We can send you the references from our past sit on request, the page does not allow us to upload it or add a link.

CONSTANT COMPANY FOR YOUR FURRY FRIENDS, SECURITY FOR YOUR HOUSE

We both work from home (Veronika in online marketing and Ladislav in IT), which means we will keep your furry friends company for most of the day so that they don't have the time to miss you - and you don't have to worry about the security of the house, either.

KEEPING THE HOUSE, POOL AND GARDEN IN ORDER

In our previous sits we took care of watering the plants, mowing the lawn and maintaining the pool. We also don't mind light garden work provided there is an instruction session beforehand - we want to make sure we don't mistake your favorite plant for bothersome weed!

OUR AVAILABILITY

Currently we are available for sits in WA, NT, QLD, NSW and TAS from September 6 to December 5 and alternatively from Jan 7 on (we have a month long sit scheduled in Torquay, VIC, commencing on December 7 and ending on Jan 6). We prefer sits that are at least 2 weeks long, within proximity of public transportation or with car provided. The only thing we really need a reliable wifi connection :)

Thank you for your time reading our application and we look forward to hearing from you!

Hello, I'm Jessica and I'm happy that you've visited my page.

Some basic facts about me: I am a 29 year old, single, non-smoking, responsible person who is really excited about this idea of mutual exchange. Originally from the US, California,
but currently exploring Australia. I am looking for house sits around November to January.
Currently in the Cape York Peninsula planning to make my way down the coast to Sydney.

My lifestyle is pretty relaxed. I am in the process of launching a Virtual Assistant career, so I am at home doing things on the computer a lot. Of course its not all work and as much as I can I get out to enjoy all that Sydney has to offer. I am a clean person. You can be assured that I will be respectful of your space and keep your home clean.

What makes me a standout sitter?
As I mentioned I am very responsible. Having previous experience both house and pet sitting, I understand the importance of maintaining routines for your furry loved ones while you're away. I do not mind tending to other house matters as well during the stay such as watering plants, collecting mail and making sure the house is kept tidy. Of course, if there is anything else you would need done while you're away, I am flexible to help elsewhere where I can.

I also am happy to stay in as much or little contact as you're comfortable with. Want photo updates daily - no problem! Every pet/home owner is different but for me, it's important that you feel comfortable and confident during our agreed upon stay.

I am happy to speak via Skype, Google voice or whatsapp, before/during/after the house sit.

Outside of my love of animals and travel I have worked at a bank, taught English in Spain at elementary schools and summer camps and most currently pursing my passion to work with people in the hotel industry being the face of the hotel in reception.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi, we are semi-retired professional, non-smokers and animal lovers. We have always lived with cats and dogs and I currently have 2 horses. We house sat for 6 months during renovations to our house in Sydney and had return requests, which we gladly accepted even after our house was ready as we had so much fun with the dogs and were missing having a dog in our lives at the time. That experience opened our eyes to the joys of house-sitting, meeting new people and animals and getting to know parts of NSW and beyond that we had never experienced. We are honest, reliable and responsible and appreciate the level of trust placed in us to take care of someone's home and their much loved pets. So far have not been phased by any care requirements, and are experienced with elderly and nervous pets as well as the boisterous and cuddly varieties! Happy to provide references. Up to date police check by my employer (hospital) so no skeletons in the closet!

  • ACT, NSW, Alice Springs, Darwin, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA

Originally from Australia, I have been traveling full-time since June 2014, living in Thailand, Canada, USA, Mexico, Egypt and now back to Mexico.
I am now looking for sits as I am returning to Australia in late 2017.
A highlight for me is meeting new people on my travels, through housesitting I have made some wonderful friends - both animal and human! Before setting off on my journey around the world I used to work as an Executive Assistant in the Media field. I now am in the process of opening my own online business.

I have extensive experience looking after dogs and cats through petsitting and volunteering. I have previously spent four months in Thailand volunteering full-time at a dog shelter with subsequent returns over the last couple of years. My main duties were walking, socializing, giving basic medical treatment, feeding and bathing the dogs. There were over 300 there, so it was always busy. I have always owned pets whilst growing up and into my adult life, both cats and dogs. I grew up in the country, so was also around farm animals. I have had to administer medication to some of my animals I have been sitting for in the past, I have also had to take animals to the vet for treatment. I am not afraid to get in and get dirty when it comes to animals, I understand they can make mess at times and I always aim to ensure your house and pet's environment is keep clean and tidy.

Here is an overview of some of my past and upcoming housesits.
Dec 2016 - Jan 2017 - Turkey, 30 Cats and 5 dogs
May 2017 - Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, 2 cats
Mid June to end of July 2017 - Mexico City, 1 cat
August - September 2017 - Cozumel, Mexico, 2 dogs & 2 cats and turtles
October 2017 - Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, 1 cat

I have been lucky enough to book many of my sits through Facebook forums, I have more references offline.

I have flexible and easy going attitude with the ability to quickly adapt to new environments. I am responsible, trustworthy, independent and can think on my feet and problem-solve. I keep a quiet, clean environment and treat other people's home and possessions with respect and privacy. But above all, lots of love and care for your pets.

I try to live like a local as much as possible when I travel and experience life away from the tourist areas. I am mainly working online and can spend most of my time at home with your pets. I am a homebody and feel very comfortable being on my own.

Therese & Doug

  • NSW, Darwin, QLD, VIC

We are a 'senior' couple (non-smokers) and have recently sold our rural property in Tasmania, and intend to travel throughout Australia (and some overseas travel) during 2017. We will be using this time to make a decision where our next home will be, and looking forward to the opportunities housesitting will give us. We are referring to this time as our "GAP YEAR!"

We are practical people and have mostly lived on small acreage properties in Tasmania. We've enjoyed the company of many pets over the years including 2 cats, 2 dogs, a pet sheep, 2 goats (so not 'pet'!) and chickens.

We have had work experience related to housesitting placements when we worked on a remote Pilbara island, and in Coral Bay, WA. Doug was responsible for pool maintenance and general groundsman work, and I did housekeeping duties - and kitchen hand! It was a great experience living on a remote island, and fairly challenging coping with a Pilbara summer. We have also worked in a remote Aboriginal Community in the N.T. Doug was the Essential Services Operator and I looked after the Creche in the morning before changing hats to be the Centrelink Agent/general office admin. person in the afternoon. It was another wonderful opportunity and gave us an insight into the lives of Australia's indigenous people.

To date we have had the pleasure of meeting a several home owners and their pets, and now have experience with managing big, bouncy dogs to the little feisty ones. We will be out of Australia from 13 May to 11 June, and as at April, have accepted bookings up til the end of October.
We are an easily adaptable couple and adjust quickly to new living situations. We prefer acreage properties, but equally enjoy the 'buzz' of big city living, and the convenience of suburban locations, and small rural towns.

We fully appreciate that making the decision to have people you don't know come to your home and care for your pets, garden and home may be a difficult one. We would like to assure you we would take the time to listen to what is required for your 'loved ones' to remain happy in their home, and would promise to care and respect your property as if it was our own. We are honest and reliable people!

Most recently we had police checks done, which is a requirement for people working for the Australian Electoral Commission in OIC roles at State and Federal Elections, and this we have done on many occasions. We are in the process of obtaining our own police checks. Also police checks were done when working in the N.T. and when I did volunteer work for Vinnies (Airlie Beach) and The Red Cross (South Perth).

Our interests are travel, music (member of a Community Band in TAS) quilting, gardening, walking and baking. I love to discover new speciality shops, delis, etc. We enjoy going to concerts, and would look forward to hearing concerts by the MSO, SSO, QSO and ASO for example if possible.

Below are two references, contact details could be supplied once you have made contact with us, and as we receive new ones we will add them as well.

Thanks for taking the time to read our profile, and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Therese and Doug Boote.

Hello
My husband and I are a retired English couple whose son is now living in Melbourne Victoria. We want to explore Australia with a view of emmigrating to Australia and we see house sitting as a way in which we could do this. Looking after someones house and or pets would help us get a real feel of the area.
We have experience in looking after dogs and cats having had our own and looked after family members pets when they go on holidays.
We are in our late 50's early 60's and are fit. We love walking and are houseproud, so would look after your home. My husband is very practical, a handyman around the house able to solve most maintainance issues.
We could supply references if required however, communication between us, potential sitters and house owners will put both our minds at rest..
We will be available from November 2017 until July 2018.
We would be very interested in a housesit over the Xmas New Year that would be open to us inviting some of our family to stay over. We would be very responsible and respectful of your property and pets at this time.

Roger and Phyllis

I have attached below a character reference from my colleague at my place of work for 23 years.
To whom it may concern.

I have known Phyllis Austin in excess of 23 years both as a work colleague and as a friend.

She was employed by Tesco Stores Limited in various managerial roles including Customer Service Manager responsible for the well being and training of over 120 staff, before ending up as a Compliance Manager in Newton Abbot store,

This role involved ensuring that the store remained safe and legal at all times. This meant liaising with the rest of the management team from Store Manager down to make sure that they completed all of their legal training such as Health and Safety, Fire and Pest Control.

During my time working with Phyllis she was always diligent and thorough and had a way of ensuring that everything was completed to tight timescales through her manner, encouraging others to do their best, and coaching/training whenever necessary. Part of her duties included being in charge of the store as a duty manager, and this task she completed with ease.

I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any role that she applied for as I know that her integrity and honesty are second to none.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

We're two young and fit retirees who are travelling around Australia on a permanent basis in our little caravan. We're planning to be mostly out bush because we enjoy bird watching, but will sometimes be coming into towns and cities and would love to look after a home for a while. We've rented our house out, so we know how important it is to have someone you can trust to look after your home! Gardening is something we enjoy, so caring for one would be fine.

For many years we owned two very spoiled cats and although we have never owned a dog we'd be happy to look after a small one. We've house sat a small dog, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and chooks. Birds, pet mice, gerbils, small reptiles etc. are all ok. We wouldn't be suitable for large dogs or horses.

We can supply references from housesits we've done previously through happy housesitters if required.

We're currently looking for a house sit northern NSW or SW QLD for Nov-Dec 2017 (not Christmas-New Year) We know this is a long way off but we're planning ahead!

We are a professional couple located in Canberra and have previously completed a local house sit in between the sale of our house and the purchase of our new one. We have a seventeen year old daughter who loves school and enjoys part-time work. She is a mature young lady who loves animals of all shapes and sizes. We enjoy meeting and looking after new furry friends during house sits and our daughter currently does this in our home for Don't Fret Pet.

We are clean and tidy non-smokers who respect other peoples property and privacy. Whilst we don't have Happy Housesitters references we are happy to forward both of our work histories which include over two decades service in the AFP and an executive HR management role with a not-for-profit.

Our house sitting interest at the moment is for holiday breaks (either in or out of school holidays) as a family, or sometimes individually as I (Tony) don't work full time. Occasionally I am happy to get away for a break by myself. My wife encourages it;-)

If you are after a small family who will take care of your pets and home as if they were their own then we would love to help.

We are two retired guys who are purchasing a house on the Gold Coast and will rent it out for a year or so to drive around Australia.
We would love to house and/or pet sit for other people on the way while they enjoy their time away.
We have rented houses around NSW and Qld and have always treated them as if they were our own as is testament by the excellent references we have been given by the Property managers, and this is the way we would look after any properties that we are lucky enough to sit.
We have had extensive experience with both domestic animals...cats, dogs, birds etc. after having owned all of these at some stage...one of which is shown in the pic I have uploaded...as well as farm animals whilst owning acreage in NSW and Qld.
We are both extremely clean & tidy people, non smokers and like to ride push bikes, play tennis and go to sporting events like AFL, Rugby League, tennis etc.

Now we would like to explore Australia. We will be there since 7th of August.
Marcin is a professional graphic designer and has good programming skills (he can design and create a website). He has been working in graphic design and marketing for 15 years and he is still doing some small jobs online for his former company in Poland.. I used to be Portuguese and Spanish teacher and translator. Both of us are responsible, hardworking and well organized. We have been married for 10 years. We both like dogs and cats. When I was a child, I had a beautiful German Shepherd and now my parents have a cat and a big house which, when we were in Poland, we used to house sit when they were out for the holidays.
We will be glad to help you.

We are a fully retired mature couple who live in the Warrnambool area. We have decided to see this fabulous country of ours by helping others care for their homes and pets while they holiday elsewhere. We are very house/garden- proud. Our garden is as immaculate as the interior. We would treat your house as our own and leave it as we found it.

We are non- smokers.

We have no pets of our own but love animals. Myles is a retired farmer, cleaner and transport company owner and I have grown up with cats, dogs, fish, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, stick insects, etc. Therefore, we would treat you precious pets with love, understanding and kindness.

I have recently retired after teaching in the classroom for 40 years and from owning a tutoring business for 6 years. Up until now,we have been restricted to house-sitting during school holidays.

We both have Police Checks and Working With Children Checks.

We have completed 27 house-sits so far, so have happy owners who would be happy to vouch for us. We also have 2 other referees who are willing to chat to you regarding our honesty and integrity.

We are presently booked in South Australia until mid-July. We are then travelling to NSW where we have a further 6 house-sits booked till early January 2018

We contact owners on a daily basis by email, Viber or Skype to put their minds at rest about the security and happiness of their pets.

We would be honoured if you would consider us in looking after your home and treasured pets.

Thanking you.
