We are on the road to retirement & looking forward to the next stage in our life, we are still doing some work via the internet & this means that we will be around for most of the time to care & watch over everything for you.

As well as travelling & having new experiences along the way, we have found that house sitting really suits us as it is so comforting to stay in a friendly home environment & if there are pets or animals to look after, then their company is an added bonus!

We love animals & wildlife & have had a long experience in caring for dogs, cats & farm animals. Unfortunately we no longer have our own pets, so we would welcome the opportunity to care for yours.

Over the years we have also had extensive experience in house & garden maintenance having renovated our own properties & also as sitters, we have cared for a number of different types of homes & properties ranging from large farms through to smaller homes & units.

We do understand that everyone's house & pets are different & we seriously take this on board & listen to each individuals requests & we will follow through with meeting your specific requirements while we stay & promise to keep you updated while you are away.

The opportunity to become your house sitter would be a great privilege & something we would not take for granted, as we both understand it is a necessity to respect your house & property & keep it well maintained while in residence.

We are both non smokers, healthy & happy people & look forward to hearing from you.

If required we can provide further reputable references & recommendation contacts.

Hope to hear from you !

I am a happy, friendly, 60 year old semi-retired house-sitter who is a fit, non-smoking, mature female; honest, reliable, house and garden proud. I grew up on a farm thus have familiarity, experience, patience and love for animals and pets, having grown up caring for many various pets of my own.

I have a passion for gardening and landscaping; I have the time to care for, walk and empathize with your pet/s missing their owner/s while keeping your home safe and as you left it. I have always owned my own homes and worked in responsible professional positions; married for 37 years to an electrician who works away six months of the year, with adult independent children living interstate pursuing professional careers.

I will respect your home, garden and beloved pets with the care I show my own. I can supply a Police Check, Working with Children Check (pets are our children!), House Owners and character references when required.

I am willing to listen carefully to your instructions, preferences & requirements. Thank-you, Dianne :)

Hi, We are a couple 67 and 60. We have just retired and have already done a number of house sits on Magnetic island and in the Brisbane area. We have enjoyed it immensely, we now would like to get more into house sitting to see more of this wonderful country. Our house sitting preference at this time would be Queensland or Northern NSW, however we are looking at all states.
We have lived in our own house in Coffs Harbour for 40 years. We are a very stable couple who pride ourselves on looking after other peoples houses and animals the same as we look after our own.
Although we have not had any dogs or cats at home we do have quite a bit of experience with animals, looking after many different kinds during the house sitting jobs that we have previously done. Spencer has also worked at an animal park for 40 years.
We have bred birds as a hobby for the last 10 years.
We are sure your house and animals would be in good hands with us looking after it while you are away.
We are both non-smokers and enjoy the outdoors. References are available.
Please call us to discuss any needs you may have.

We are a professional couple located in Canberra and have previously completed a local house sit in between the sale of our house and the purchase of our new one. We have a seventeen year old daughter who loves school and enjoys part-time work. She is a mature young lady who loves animals of all shapes and sizes. We enjoy meeting and looking after new furry friends during house sits and our daughter currently does this in our home for Don't Fret Pet.

We are clean and tidy non-smokers who respect other peoples property and privacy. Whilst we don't have Happy Housesitters references we are happy to forward both of our work histories which include over two decades service in the AFP and an executive HR management role with a not-for-profit.

Our house sitting interest at the moment is for holiday breaks (either in or out of school holidays) as a family, or sometimes individually as I (Tony) don't work full time. Occasionally I am happy to get away for a break by myself. My wife encourages it;-)

If you are after a small family who will take care of your pets and home as if they were their own then we would love to help.

I am a friendly, trustworthy, animal loving person with a beautiful 17 month old daughter, Luna Aurora. We enjoy a healthy and fun loving lifetyle and are well accustomed to domestic pets, from rescue dogs and cats through to rabbits, tutrles, birds and guineas pigs!

I am a photographer who is currently working on online projects. I organise fundraising initiatives for animal rescue organsiations overseas. I also run the 2getherdogs foundation to speak for those who cannot speak for themeselves and help wherever I can to assist the rehomeing of stray dogs finding their furever homes.

Luna is an incredible, sweet natured, happy, pretty much always smiling babe who loves animals too, having just discovered cats and dogs!
Luna is into music & dancing, strolls in the park, food and lots of naps.

Why do we want to house sit?~ We are in Melbourne visiting my parents for an extended period and currently have tenants in our space. Therefore we look at this opportunity to house sit for you as a perfect exchange. I am particularly attracted by the mutual trust that is essential for house-sitting to be successful. Being invited to look after someone’s home is an important responsibility. Your house and animals are precious and are to be treated with love and care.

What can we bring?
We are genuine animal lovers and will treat them like the furperson that they are. We will spend alot of time with your animals being home with Luna for a large portion of each day with plenty of time for walks! I have grown up with animals, and have taken in numerous rescue cats and have rehomed them aswell as have worked with stray dogs in rescue homes. Currently we share a home with rescue tabby TomKat and long time senior resident, gizmo the Maltese. We will bring a caring, reliable, organised touch with us to your home. I have experience during past travels caring for a range of properties, city and rural, all treated with respect for owners homes & privacy. I have also co run a B&B and am very aware of presentation & house related issues involving, repairs & maintenance. My house sit motto is: 'do no harm' I will always return houses to the owners in the condition received- if not better.

There is always the option to keep regular email/skype contact with the owners if desired, I am non-smoking and am able to provide you with references on request.
Looking forward to hearing from you:)

We have looked after neighbours' and friends' homes, property and pets and can provide verifiable references for this. I had an 'aha' moment on our last holiday that we should continue exploring Australia (our adopted home for 10 years - British expats) as house and pet sitters since we have always used house sitters through this site and others for our own beloved dogs (Labrador and Golden Retriever) and horse.

Genuine animal lovers we've cared for cats, dogs, chickens and fish (inside tanks & outdoor ponds). I seem to have a knack for finding stray dogs too, so far in 2017 I've returned 5 dogs to their homes. Our Labrador was a stray that we adopted from the RSPCA and we have fostered dogs from the RSPCA too because she has brought us so much joy, we want to give back and help other dogs get home safely or be re-homed in a forever home. Our 4 year old daughter has grown up surrounded by all these animals and exhibits calm, sensible and trustworthy behaviour around animals. She too loves exploring new places and walking on the beach or in the bush with new fur friends.

Our referees will confirm they returned to sparkling home, happy healthy pets, a well maintained pool, gardens, lawns and potted plants.

I am self-employed as a Pilates instructor and remedial masseur, which involves a lot of online marketing and promotion. Mark works for a brand agency as a Digital Strategist, so we find gardening and walking, playing with and cuddling pets therapeutic – a pleasant distraction from sitting working away for hours on our laptops.

We will maintain regular contact with you whilst you're away for your peace of mind ( I know how much we value being able to see our pups relaxing in their own home with new sitter friends).

We take our role of house and pet sitters seriously, considering it a privilege to be entrusted with the responsibility of your much loved pets and home, whilst being gifted the opportunity to see more of Australia.

We take care not to incur costs and restrict use of heaters, air conditioning, dishwashers & washing machines to off peak. Non-smokers, responsible, house proud, security conscious, quiet living, lavish affection on our surrogate fur kids, fit & active.

We are more than happy to pay for flights and a hire car to travel to your home. And will happily drop you off and pick you up from the airport too. We will not disappoint.

We are two retired guys who are purchasing a house on the Gold Coast and will rent it out for a year or so to drive around Australia.
We would love to house and/or pet sit for other people on the way while they enjoy their time away.
We have rented houses around NSW and Qld and have always treated them as if they were our own as is testament by the excellent references we have been given by the Property managers, and this is the way we would look after any properties that we are lucky enough to sit.
We have had extensive experience with both domestic animals...cats, dogs, birds etc. after having owned all of these at some of which is shown in the pic I have well as farm animals whilst owning acreage in NSW and Qld.
We are both extremely clean & tidy people, non smokers and like to ride push bikes, play tennis and go to sporting events like AFL, Rugby League, tennis etc.

*** Currently looking for a house sit in MELBOURNE during Oct/Nov for approx 4 weeks, as our 10yr old has to have a heart procedure at RCH***

Hi all,

We are a family from Adelaide, living on the road full time as of March 2017. There is Paul, myself, Mr 22 and Mr 10. We also have our furbabies with us, 2 labradors... Finn and Char. Our dogs are our family, so you can be assured your babies will be treated the same.

We're travelling in our camper trailer, so are fully self contained. We are more than happy to use the camper for our accommodation if required.

We plan on travelling and showing our boys the amazing country we live in. After being recommended house sitting by friends, we agree it's an opportunity to meet new people, learn about new areas & cultures, and meet some amazing new animals.

We all have extensive experience with domestic animals, as well as birds. We have volunteered with Fauna Rescue for 2 years, and also with Labs n Life who work with children in schools to train autism companion dogs.

Paul has worked alot of his life on farms, so he's experienced with farm animals and general farmhand duties as well as sheep work too.

We have police clearances for Paul and Myself , also personal and professional references. We will add house/pet sitting references as they come.

We would love to chat to you more about the opportunity of a house sit, please feel free to contact me by phone or email.

Have an amazing day!

Hi, we are semi-retired professional, non-smokers and animal lovers. We have always lived with cats and dogs and I currently have 2 horses. We house sat for 6 months during renovations to our house in Sydney and had return requests, which we gladly accepted even after our house was ready as we had so much fun with the dogs and were missing having a dog in our lives at the time. That experience opened our eyes to the joys of house-sitting, meeting new people and animals and getting to know parts of NSW and beyond that we had never experienced. We are honest, reliable and responsible and appreciate the level of trust placed in us to take care of someone's home and their much loved pets. So far have not been phased by any care requirements, and are experienced with elderly and nervous pets as well as the boisterous and cuddly varieties! Happy to provide references. Up to date police check by my employer (hospital) so no skeletons in the closet!

Hello, I'm Jessica and I'm happy that you've visited my page.

Some basic facts about me: I am a 29 year old, single, non-smoking, responsible person who is really excited about this idea of mutual exchange. Originally from the US, California,
but currently exploring Australia. I am looking for house sits around November to January.
Currently in the Cape York Peninsula planning to make my way down the coast to Sydney.

My lifestyle is pretty relaxed. I am in the process of launching a Virtual Assistant career, so I am at home doing things on the computer a lot. Of course its not all work and as much as I can I get out to enjoy all that Sydney has to offer. I am a clean person. You can be assured that I will be respectful of your space and keep your home clean.

What makes me a standout sitter?
As I mentioned I am very responsible. Having previous experience both house and pet sitting, I understand the importance of maintaining routines for your furry loved ones while you're away. I do not mind tending to other house matters as well during the stay such as watering plants, collecting mail and making sure the house is kept tidy. Of course, if there is anything else you would need done while you're away, I am flexible to help elsewhere where I can.

I also am happy to stay in as much or little contact as you're comfortable with. Want photo updates daily - no problem! Every pet/home owner is different but for me, it's important that you feel comfortable and confident during our agreed upon stay.

I am happy to speak via Skype, Google voice or whatsapp, before/during/after the house sit.

Outside of my love of animals and travel I have worked at a bank, taught English in Spain at elementary schools and summer camps and most currently pursing my passion to work with people in the hotel industry being the face of the hotel in reception.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi. My old border collie is now watching over my garden so I am headed for a sea/tree change and available to give your pets the same level of attention and care. I have looked after dogs, cats, chooks, gardens and pools in the NT, Vic. and, most recently, NSW. I will treat your home with the same respect as my own.

I am a non-smoker and have a current Working With Children Check (the vetting process includes a national police check). I would be happy to provide contact details for human referees as required.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Hello house owners! Look no further, we're the sitters you've been searching long & hard for!
Matt & I, would love to look after your home and in the same way you would.
We're non smokers, with no children, work or commitments.
We've been travelling/working Western Australia for the last year and have now come to the end of our working adventures.

We absolutely love all animals and both have experience on working/living on a farm as my parents back home own a horse farm with other small critters.
If you like what your reading, feel free to messages us and we can give you more information about us :)

OCTOBER 2106: Thank you for all the offers to house sit over Christmas, but as we have been unsuccessful in securing other sits before then, we have no choice but to return to Europe where we have other offers.

Non-smoking, genuinely caring and 100% reliable with high standards of hygiene and tidiness. Originally from England & Spain, we also have New Zealand citizenship.

House sitting internationally since April 2014, we are incredibly proud of our references and reputation. We have a wide range of skills and personal qualities to guarantee our hosts' peace of mind. We are:

** EXPERIENCED. As of October 2016, we have successfully completed over 30 house sits in 13 different countries (including Australia!)

** HOUSE PROUD. We don't ask for luxury, but we do prefer uncluttered spaces maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.

** RESPONSIBLE and DISCREET. We are very safety conscious and won't bring guests into your home without your consent.

** CONSIDERATE. We use all utilities responsibly, and treat your home with the respect it deserves.

** PROACTIVE. We are capable and dependable - if something crops up in your absence, we'll deal with it!

** KEEN and ADAPTABLE. Always happy to lend a hand and pick up new skills. We can perform all basic gardening tasks and have some experience of looking after swimming pools.

** EXCELLENT COMMUNICATORS. We are friendly and approachable, keep at least 3 methods of communication open in your absence and send you regular pictures and updates.

** FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT. Self-employed IT professionals working from our laptops - we spend a lot of time at home with the pets!

** PHYSICALLY FIT and HEALTHY. We don't smoke, drink alcohol in moderation only, and have never done drugs of any sort. Our biggest vice is chocolate...

And what about the pets?

** CAT SPECIALISTS. Former cat owners ourselves, we have almost exclusively looked after cats whilst house sitting. Additionally, we volunteered for the feline branch of our local SPCA for 14 months in New Zealand in 2013-14.

>> We have experience with young and senior/geriatric cats, administering medication, and are particularly good with shy cats!

** OTHER PETS. Anything small and furry (even rats, which we owned in NZ). Tropical fish tanks and ponds. Chooks and ducks. Reptiles and amphibians. Happy to consider other pets as well, but please note we cannot accept sits that involve dog care.

** WILDLIFE. We are always grateful for any opportunity to observe and care for the local fauna. We have looked after bird baths and feeders, fed wild wallabies and even a semi tame possum by hand.

Our needs are simple but nonetheless critical, and if granted would allow us to achieve a perfect win-win situation for all:

- INTERNET CONNECTION. Our main requirement is a fast, reliable connection so we can continue to work.

- COMFORTABLE BED. Ideally 160+ cm wide or 2 separate beds. Although healthy in every other way, I do suffer from a sleep disorder which means I am a very light sleeper and toss & turn a lot throughout the night, so smaller beds unfortunately mean poor sleep for both of us. Please note this also means we cannot share our bed with the pets.

- PEACEFUL ENVIRONMENT where we can work and relax (and sleep!) without major disturbances. We wish to avoid heavy/fast traffic, barking dogs, loud music etc, so we respectfully ask that you are honest with us about the reality of your living environment.

- TRANSPORT. Access to a car would be a huge bonus. We have borrowed many hosts' cars and have never had an issue anywhere. We have full, clean driving licences and can drive automatic and manual cars.

- Last but not least, as mentioned before, we are very HOUSE PROUD and only wish to house sit for home owners with the same standards, and live in smoke free and drug free environments.

If you are still with us... thank you for reading until the end! If you feel we are a good match for each other, we would love to hear from you.

You can also visit our website and accompanying Facebook page, which you can find easily under "CatMadSitters", to read more about us, see all our references and browse through many photos.

Please don't hesitate to drop us a line if you'd like to chat. We always encourage connecting on Skype or Facetime for a video call.

Thank you for visiting our profile, we look forward to hearing from you!

We are a semi-retired couple travelling and exploring. In the last four years we have travelled and housesat overseas and here at home in Australia. We have shared our lives with many companion animals over the years, and quite a few more in our house sitting assignments. We consider ourselves true animal lovers and they are always our number one priority in any sit.
We are experienced home owners having owned several over the years. You can go away with peace of mind knowing that we will care for your home as if it were our own. We have several housesitting references, property references and recent Police Certificates (the latter are available on request)
I (Paul) am a semi-retired photographer. Pauline is retired, describing herself as an artist in training. Travelling to new places, meeting new people and animals is the way we like to live. We enjoy time at "home" wherever that might be, so your pets will have plenty of company.
At the moment we are housesitting in Melbourne and, while we welcome more time here, we are open to opportunities to explore other parts of Australia.
We hope to hear from you and to caring for your pets and home.
Thank you

We like to house sit as it lets us experience another area and neighbourhood in a relaxed friendly way. We have done a lot of travelling and many house sits in Australia and overseas- several in England and Scotland and one in Turkey over the last 10+ years. We are clean and careful people and house owners have been appreciative of our efforts.
We are tidy, practical people who like walking and being active and exploring new areas. We are not really animal people people but have farm experience useful for emergencies and have had family pets in the past. High maintenance and energy pets are not suitable for us. No pets is ideal!!
We cannot come to a 'smoking' house. We use our own vehicle so location near transport is not necessary. We have cared for country houses in Tasmania before and it worked out well.

Hi My name is Carolina. I am from South America and I am married and I have lived in Australia for three years. My husband works away I do not have children and unfortunately I had to leave my sweet doggie called Little star (who is sleeping with her Teddy bear) at home. I really miss her and I thought that his is a good opportunity to relief someone from the stress that means to leave your loved house and pets while I make something that makes me happy. My family jokes about the fact that I treat my pets as babies and I am very proud of that... maybe that is why Reeno (my neighbour white maltese) sleeps in my chest sometimes and my husband has to share his side of the bed with my friends doggies when they come to visit. I am a personal assistant and previosluy i worked some years as a carer for people with disabilities hence I am good with housekeeping. i love to keep my house clean and I understand other people liek the same. I can happily sleep with your fury babies, prepare special foods for them or even a bday cake (in case you missed their bday) also I promise to send as many pictures as you want of them and the house status. i can do house sitting for short period of time from one to 3 days. Please feel free to ask me question and thanks for reading my profile.

I am a non-smoking, part-time student/public servant who enjoys a mindful, healthy lifestyle. I love all animals and enjoy pats and walks with any furry friend I might have the pleasure to meet. I only work 2-3 days a week and spend the rest of my time studying from home, so they would be kept company in that regard too. As well as an alternative to renting, I find it very helpful for getting assignments and writing done, something about the unfamiliar surroundings inspire me.

Police check and References available on request :)

Currently living in southern NSW, I have been housesitting since early 2016. So far all my sits have been in Vic and NSW and they have been quite diverse, from rural to city to seaside; from start-of-the-art new homes to well-loved older dwellings; animals cared for include cats, dogs from small to large, and aviary birds.

As an inveterate traveller i am happy to sit anywhere in the country. I travel solo, so no worries about wild parties.

I am pretty boring i guess, being a non-smoker, don't use drugs or any funky stuff, rarely drink alcohol. A registered nurse, I no longer work in the hospital setting, but use multiple non-drug therapies for emotional wellness facilitation. Being a nurse, i have had regular police checks for the past twenty plus years...and since nothing has changed i am sure i will pass any criminality check you may desire.

I am comfortable with most animals, having spent years on a farm. My daughter is a vet nurse, so that says a bit about the presence of animals during her childhood... we had chooks, goldfish, budgies, cats, dogs, horses, goats and cattle.

I have references from home owners that i have helped out in the past months since i started this adventure. All state that they found their home 'immaculate' and 'cleaner than when i left', and several have wanted to rebook me for future dates. So i guess that means that they and their pets are happy ;-)

By the way i have a good ENJO cleaning kit so all my cleaning is done chemical free.

Michael and I love dogs and animals. In fact dogs go out of their way to say hello to Michael whenever they encounter him. They instinctively know that he is trustworthy and cares about them. We had two dogs for seventeen years and really miss the walks so taking your pets for a walk would be a delightful pastime for us.
We would care for your home as if it were our own and that means it would be kept spotless and well maintained. We are non smokers and very health conscious so no toxic chemicals would be used by us when cleaning your place.
We are a mature couple who work from home, wherever that may be at the time, and spend our time visiting our family and friends who are located in parts of NSW, QLD and Vic.

Steve is a freelance nature photographer and I am a freelance nature & outdoor travel writer. We spend most of our time roaming Australia taking photos and writing articles, and from time to time we like to take a break to catch up on work and to spend time in one place caring for animals and/or tending to a home and garden. We are both animal-lovers, and the only drawback to our lifestyle is that we can't have pets. Steve was previously a primary and middle school teacher in a number of schools in the Melbourne area. I was a child-therapist many moons ago before becoming a full-time freelance writer. We are both originally from the United States but we are now proud Australia citizens (a process that included police background checks). We will care for your animals, and your home and garden, as if it were our own. Please visit our website at Natural Wanders for more information on our work and our background. You may also want to visit our Pet & House Sitting Facebook page at
-We are a non-smoking, vegetarian, married couple who will keep your home tidy and clean and your pets happy and safe.
-We work from 'home', in this case your home, so we would not be leaving your animals for long periods during the day.
-We would not invite others to your home, and aside from a glass of wine or a beer with dinner, we don't drink.
-We have respect for the privacy and property of others: simply close the doors of (or advise us of) rooms you do not want us to go in and we won't!
-Once we accept a housesit, we do not back out unless there is a dire emergency. Please email us if you have any questions. Thank you.
*For your protection, we are email, phone & address certified, identity verified via document check, letters of recommendation. We had police checks when we went through the process of becoming Australian citizens.

Marc & Jody

  • ACT, Alice Springs, Darwin, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Mackay & Whitsundays, Rockhampton, Cairns, Townsville, SA, TAS, Melbourne, WA

We are a small family from Holland. Marc, Jody and our little 2 year old daughter Saar.

We want to see all of Australia, so we are looking for housesits anywhere.

We want to stay in Melbourne until april.
However between mid february and beginning of march we are looking for a housesit somewhere else. Who lives outside of Victoria and needs a housesit in that period? Let us know!

We love animals, have 2 dogs in Holland, but prefer not to sit dogs here as we want to be able to go for days aways once in a while.
Cats are no problem.
