We are an older couple. We own our own home and we recently lost our little dog who had been with us for 17.5 years. Our little dog was certainly "part of the family". We love all types of animals. We are retired. Peter is a retired Senior Sergeant with the Victoria Police. He still works in the judicial system as a Justice of the Peace. I have a current Police Check. I was a teacher/school counselor. We have had experience house sitting and we do know how we would like people to respect our property so naturally we would do the same for others. We really love to travel and visit new places. We enjoy walking and reading when we are on holidays.Your house would be left just the way we found it on arrival. We can provide references if required.
Hi, we are Claudia & Geoff, and we are a fit and energetic couple in our 60’s. We have travelled extensively and enjoy meeting people from all cultures and experiencing the traditions and foods of the many countries we have visited. We are home owners and appreciate the responsibility of looking after someone’s home and their much loved pets. We adore animals of all kinds and often dog sit our son’s miniature schnauzer “Beardsley” whom we affectionately call our grandson. We appreciate your consideration in viewing our application and your favourable response. We are able to provide references, police check certificate, finger print certificate on request.Regards Claudia & Geoff
We are a mature non-smoking couple with a responsible outlook. Our three delightful children are now independent so we have an empty nest and itchy feet. We have rented out our own home and have rented others homes so we understand the need to look after someone's home. We are very trustworthy, clean, tidy and reliable and would treat you and your home with utmost respect. Whilst not yet retired ourselves we have a very mobile business (Ice Cream Van) and would love the opportunity to explore different regions whilst selling Ice Creams. Our family are animal lovers so over the years we have had a lot of experience looking after animals. Different animals we have had include: dogs (little spoilt inside dogs and larger outside dogs), cats, chooks, ducks, rabbits, turkeys and a turtle. Sadly, at present we have no animals. We like to keep some fitness and go to the gym so walking dogs would be a pleasure. We would welcome the opportunity to meet you so you can get to know us. Please don't hesitate to phone or email. References and referees available upon request.Warmest Regards,Michael and Di Chapman0403811840

Steve is a freelance nature photographer and I am a freelance nature & outdoor travel writer. We spend most of our time roaming Australia taking photos and writing articles, and from time to time we like to take a break to catch up on work and to spend time in one place caring for animals and/or tending to a home and garden. We are both animal-lovers, and the only drawback to our lifestyle is that we can't have pets. Steve was previously a primary and middle school teacher in a number of schools in the Melbourne area. I was a child-therapist many moons ago before becoming a full-time freelance writer. We are both originally from the United States but we are now proud Australia citizens (a process that included police background checks). We will care for your animals, and your home and garden, as if it were our own. Please visit our website at Natural Wanders for more information on our work and our background. You may also want to visit our Pet & House Sitting Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LindaStevePetSitting. -We are a non-smoking, vegetarian, married couple who will keep your home tidy and clean and your pets happy and safe. -We work from 'home', in this case your home, so we would not be leaving your animals for long periods during the day. -We would not invite others to your home, and aside from a glass of wine or a beer with dinner, we don't drink. -We have respect for the privacy and property of others: simply close the doors of (or advise us of) rooms you do not want us to go in and we won't!-Once we accept a housesit, we do not back out unless there is a dire emergency. Please email us if you have any questions. Thank you.*For your protection, we are email, phone & address certified, identity verified via document check, letters of recommendation. We had police checks when we went through the process of becoming Australian citizens.
Hi, we are semi-retired professional, non-smokers and animal lovers. We have always lived with cats and dogs and I currently have 2 horses. We house sat for 6 months during renovations to our house in Sydney and had return requests, which we gladly accepted even after our house was ready as we had so much fun with the dogs and were missing having a dog in our lives at the time. That experience opened our eyes to the joys of house-sitting, meeting new people and animals and getting to know parts of NSW and beyond that we had never experienced. We are honest, reliable and responsible and appreciate the level of trust placed in us to take care of someone's home and their much loved pets. So far have not been phased by any care requirements, and are experienced with elderly and nervous pets as well as the boisterous and cuddly varieties! Happy to provide references. Up to date police check by my employer (hospital) so no skeletons in the closet!
Wendy and Brian are a recently retired couple who are driving the full circle in 2017. We attempted this several years ago but after two years in WA housesitting in the Bunbury area (several repeat housesits), in Mandurah, Denmark and in Perth we came home to Victoria for family commitments (wedding). We then went north to Queensland and spent twelve months in housesits in Warwick, Toowoomba and Mackay. In October 2016, we looked after a house in Bunbury WA (we flew over from Vic) where wecaught up with our favourite dog Zoe (we have looked after her numerous times) and two cats. It was great to get back into housesitting in WA again. In 2017 we completed the full lap via Broome Darwin and Mt Isa then south to home in Bendigo. Our plans for 2018 are to head north from Victoria after Easter and would love enquiries from anyone in Queensland who would like their loved pets and homes cared for during their absence. We will be in Queensland for May, June and July 2018.We now have a confirmed open housesit north of Port Douglas to fit in with any other sits we may be able to assist with.As we will be staying in cabins in caravan parks for our trip we have no need for special parking space for a van.We are an active, outdoor loving ,NS, houseproud couple who value and respect others' property and privacy. We enjoy gardening and can ensure you that your pets will be given the love and attention that they are used to. We can supply names of referees from our repeat housesits, can provide current police checks and we are prepared to pay a bond if required. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you would like further details, we will gladly return a call if your email contains a phone number.
We are two retired guys who own a house in the Sunshine Coast hinterland and are renting it out for a year or so to drive around Australia. We would love to house and/or pet sit for other people on the way while they enjoy their time away. We have rented houses around NSW and Qld and have always treated them as if they were our own as is testament by the excellent references we have been given by the Property managers, and this is the way we would look after any properties that we are lucky enough to sit. We have had extensive experience with both domestic animals...cats, dogs, birds etc. after having owned all of these at some stage...one of which is shown in the pic I have uploaded...as well as farm animals whilst owning acreage in NSW and Qld.We are both extremely clean & tidy people, non smokers and like to ride push bikes, play tennis and go to sporting events like AFL, Rugby League, tennis etc.
COPULE: LONG-TERM TRAVELLERS AND ANIMAL LOVERSHello there! We are a couple of overland travellers who have been roaming the world for more than a decade. We are both animal lovers and meet stray furbabies constantly on our travels. Our biggest joy is feeding them and giving them cuddles and a warm place to sleep for the night...in our tent!Chris and I are both travel writers and published authors and love nothing more than finding a peaceful retreat during our nomadic wanderings, where we can work and enjoy some down time. When we do house-sit, we spend most of our time at home, which makes us ideal pet companions :)Both Chris and I have quite a healthy online presence so just ask and we'll happily provide evidence of who we are, and what we do.WHY WE LOVE TO DO THISAfter more than 12 years on the road, I am missing the feeling of having a 'home', and the biggest setback of a travelling life is that we can't have pets of our own. I think this may just be the ideal solution.WHAT WE OFFER TO YOUWe are a responsible and quiet couple who loves to stay home and relish comforts when we are housesitting. Considering we spend most of our life camping and on the road, we really do see house and petsitting as the privilege it is. PETS: I was given my first dog for my 3rd birthday (when I staged a hunger strike to get an Old English Sheepdog!) and lived with pets all my life, right up until I started travelling in 2004. I am well versed in all things crazy-dog related, had 2 English Sheepdogs, 2 German Shepards and one nutty boxer, as well as 2 cats over the years. I also rescued a boxer puppy in Chile, whom I brought back to Australia. My partner has likewise always lived with pets, as well as having particular experience with farm animals. Chris managed a horse farm in South Africa for 3 months and worked as a horse-riding guide.PROPERTIES: over the last 8 years of together-travel, we've managed campsites, built furniture and rewired electricity in entire properties. We've fixed motorbikes, cars and maintained boats. We're both handy-folks and love having projects around the house/garden/farm/shed/garage. It's a lovely distraction from our writing work.Combined, we speak English, German, Italian, Spanish and a smattering of French. And dog of course! I worked as a tour guide in three continents over the course of five years and have looked after hundreds of tourists on vacation. It's this invaluable experience which, I believe, makes me reliable, trustworthy and responsible. Our aim is to look after your home, and your furbabies, with the same passion we would have if they were ours.NB: Please note that we are experienced house-sitter through a different website, and have only just discovered this Australia-specific one. Our profile may be new, but our expertise is not. In the last 12months alone, we have housesat and looked after 4 cats, 1 cheeky pug and two adorable rescue dogs, all in Malaysia. Please also note that I am, originally, from Sydney.
We are a happy, fit couple who are currently travelling around Australia and are looking to house sit over the Christmas / new year period in Sydney as we are coming to visit our daughters for Christmas. We have just finished working and house sitting on a cattle property in Croydon Far North Queensland which has been a truly incredible experience. We were feeding cattle, mending fences, driving bobcats and looking after the farm dogs.Prior to travelling we were living in Wahroonga and I had been working at Sirocco in Willoughby.Shaun has been in the building industry and is very skilful in all aspects of handiwork. We have had dogs and chooks and love all animals. This year we have been working on Bedarra Island as caretakers/managers and are looking forward to visiting our 3 daughters in Sydney over the Xmas new year period
We are a mature couple (68 and 72 year olds) non drinkers and non smokers. Fit and able to do garden and walk pet. We like to ride our bikes to explore whatever region we may visit. The idea is to head north each year to escape the southern winters.
It’s a real privilege to look after someone’s home and we will respect that responsibility by being energetic and reliable in the care of your house and garden. We are non-smokers/drinkers and are in good health. We have cared for many cats & dogs on various house sits and have excellent references and National Police Clearances. We will follow through on the tasks you inform us of before you leave. Our aim is for you to depart relaxed and return happy. Hope to be able to help you soon – we can be flexible with our travel dates. We have recently listed our own on this site for house sitters, and have a caravan we are happy to stay in when house sitting if required. We are a very reliable couple and enjoy travelling. We will be in Tasmania early February for three months. (flexible) and would love to house sit and explore the area.
We have looked after neighbours' and friends' homes, property and pets and can provide verifiable references for this. I had an 'aha' moment on our last holiday that we should continue exploring Australia (our adopted home for 10 years - British expats) as house and pet sitters since we have always used house sitters through this site and others for our own beloved dogs (Labrador and Golden Retriever) and my horse. We take our role of house and pet sitters seriously, considering it a privilege to be entrusted with the responsibility of your much loved pets and home, whilst being gifted the opportunity to see more of Australia. Our referees will confirm they returned to sparkling home, happy healthy pets, a well maintained pool, gardens, lawns and potted plants. I am self-employed as a Pilates instructor and remedial masseur, which involves a lot of online marketing and promotion. Mark works for a brand agency as a Digital Strategist, so we find gardening and walking, playing with and cuddling pets therapeutic – a pleasant distraction from sitting working away for hours on our laptops. We will maintain regular contact with you whilst you're away for your peace of mind ( I know how much we value being able to see our pups relaxing in their own home with new sitter friends). We take care not to incur costs and restrict use of heaters, air conditioning, dishwashers & washing machines. Non-smokers, responsible, house proud, security conscious, quiet living, lavish affection on our surrogate fur kids, fit & active. We are more than happy to pay for flights and a hire car to travel to your home. And will happily drop you off and pick you up from the airport too. We will not disappoint.

Hello, I'm Jessica and I'm happy that you've visited my page. Some basic facts about me: I am a 29 year old, single, non-smoking, responsible person who is really excited about this idea of mutual exchange. Originally from the US, California, but currently exploring Australia. I am looking for house sits around November to January. Currently in the Cape York Peninsula planning to make my way down the coast to Sydney. My lifestyle is pretty relaxed. I am in the process of launching a Virtual Assistant career, so I am at home doing things on the computer a lot. Of course its not all work and as much as I can I get out to enjoy all that Sydney has to offer. I am a clean person. You can be assured that I will be respectful of your space and keep your home clean. What makes me a standout sitter? As I mentioned I am very responsible. Having previous experience both house and pet sitting, I understand the importance of maintaining routines for your furry loved ones while you're away. I do not mind tending to other house matters as well during the stay such as watering plants, collecting mail and making sure the house is kept tidy. Of course, if there is anything else you would need done while you're away, I am flexible to help elsewhere where I can. I also am happy to stay in as much or little contact as you're comfortable with. Want photo updates daily - no problem! Every pet/home owner is different but for me, it's important that you feel comfortable and confident during our agreed upon stay. I am happy to speak via Skype, Google voice or whatsapp, before/during/after the house sit. Outside of my love of animals and travel I have worked at a bank, taught English in Spain at elementary schools and summer camps and most currently pursing my passion to work with people in the hotel industry being the face of the hotel in reception. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
Hi there! I'm a single, non-smoking 25 year old from Austin, Texas. I have been away from home for over a year now and have been truly enjoying seeing new parts of the world. I've been working in Tasmania for the past several months and am looking to travel through the mainland for my remaining working holiday. I house sat a bit in Melbourne at the beginning of my time in Australia, and found it to be a wonderful way to save money on accomodation, get a dose of cute animal cuddling, and help others. I have a college degree and a few years of professional work experience. I have a great love of animals and promise to take excellent care of your pets! I'm very tidy and will make sure your space is maintained and spotless when you get back. Happy to provide references upon request!

I would be very interested in house sitting for you while you are away from home.I am a non smoking professional person who works fulltime with no children or pets. Having house sat continuously in the Canberra vicinity since Christmas 2006, I have a reputation as a trusted and reliable house sitter.Being from a farm, I am very used to caring for animals large and small. I particularly enjoy walking dogs. Please be assured that I would look after your home, pets and garden as if they were my own.Happy to provide references if required.
My name is Kaz, and I am an experienced house/pet sitter. I am 65 years old, non smoker, and love animals - particularly dogs. My last 4 legged companion (Tigger - a retired Greyhound) passed away several years ago. His passing (at the ripe old age of 14) meant I could take on new ventures.I love new places, and looking after furry kids - fishy, feathered kids if necessary!!Having worked in extremely remote communities over a 10 year period, I am organised and adaptable, and would look after your home and pets as I would my own. Up until late 2014, I owned my own home. I sold, in preparation to moving to country NSW in November of 2016. I have been permanently housesitting since 2012. In March of 2014, I closed my landline crystal and mineral business, and moved to selling online. Which means that I work from home. I have my own internet connection, and chose Telstra as my provider, as their coverage is (generally!!) greater.I have a current "Working with Childrens" check - this check has photo ID, plus is far more thorough than a normal police check.I am currently booked for the following dates:17th Feb - 4th March: Wingham.24th March - 13th April: Bathurst, NSW.13th April - 18th April: West Haven, NSW.18th April - 25th April: Lake Cathie, NSW.26th April to 10th June: Toowoomba, Qld14th June - 15th July 2017: Scotts Head, NSW.17th November to 18 December: Port Macquarie, NSW.Some recent feedback from clients:"It is always reassuring to know the dogs can be at home rather than in kennels We were able to enjoy planning the trip and then eventually being away with your great service. The dogs were well cared for and obviously enjoyed your presence very much so we are happy too!! No problem if you use these comments". Joe and Anne, Perth, WA"We were very happy with Kaz. Fergie is a rather strong and dominant rescue dog with a few problems such as separation anxiety and we came back to find her actually better than when we left! So much so, that I have asked Kaz to meet up for a walk with the dog so I can learn from how she handles her! For the first time ever, our cat had not pined and lost weight. The house was neat and tidy and Kaz had go above and beyond in every respect." Carol and Punch, Perth, WA.Referee's contact details available on request.
We like to house sit as it lets us experience another area and neighbourhood in a relaxed friendly way. We have done a lot of travelling and many house sits in Australia and overseas- several in England and Scotland and one in Turkey over the last 10+ years. We are clean and careful people and house owners have been appreciative of our efforts. We are tidy, practical people who like walking and being active and exploring new areas. We are not really animal people people but have farm experience useful for emergencies and have had family pets in the past. High maintenance and energy pets are not suitable for us. No pets is ideal!!We cannot come to a 'smoking' house. We use our own vehicle so location near transport is not necessary. We have cared for country houses in Tasmania before and it worked out well.
Hi My name is Carolina. I am from South America and I am married and I have lived in Australia for three years. My husband works away I do not have children and unfortunately I had to leave my sweet doggie called Little star (who is sleeping with her Teddy bear) at home. I really miss her and I thought that his is a good opportunity to relief someone from the stress that means to leave your loved house and pets while I make something that makes me happy. My family jokes about the fact that I treat my pets as babies and I am very proud of that... maybe that is why Reeno (my neighbour white maltese) sleeps in my chest sometimes and my husband has to share his side of the bed with my friends doggies when they come to visit. I am a personal assistant and previosluy i worked some years as a carer for people with disabilities hence I am good with housekeeping. i love to keep my house clean and I understand other people liek the same. I can happily sleep with your fury babies, prepare special foods for them or even a bday cake (in case you missed their bday) also I promise to send as many pictures as you want of them and the house status. i can do house sitting for short period of time from one to 3 days. Please feel free to ask me question and thanks for reading my profile.
I am a non-smoking, part-time student/public servant who enjoys a mindful, healthy lifestyle. I love all animals and enjoy pats and walks with any furry friend I might have the pleasure to meet. I only work 2-3 days a week and spend the rest of my time studying from home, so they would be kept company in that regard too. As well as an alternative to renting, I find it very helpful for getting assignments and writing done, something about the unfamiliar surroundings inspire me. Police check and References available on request :)
I am a friendly, trustworthy, animal loving person with a beautiful 17 month old daughter, Luna Aurora. We enjoy a healthy and fun loving lifetyle and are well accustomed to domestic pets, from rescue dogs and cats through to rabbits, tutrles, birds and guineas pigs! I am a photographer who is currently working on online projects. I organise fundraising initiatives for animal rescue organsiations overseas. I also run the 2getherdogs foundation to speak for those who cannot speak for themeselves and help wherever I can to assist the rehomeing of stray dogs finding their furever homes. Luna is an incredible, sweet natured, happy, pretty much always smiling babe who loves animals too, having just discovered cats and dogs! Luna is into music & dancing, strolls in the park, food and lots of naps. Why do we want to house sit?~ We are in Melbourne visiting my parents for an extended period and currently have tenants in our space. Therefore we look at this opportunity to house sit for you as a perfect exchange. I am particularly attracted by the mutual trust that is essential for house-sitting to be successful. Being invited to look after someone’s home is an important responsibility. Your house and animals are precious and are to be treated with love and care. What can we bring? We are genuine animal lovers and will treat them like the furperson that they are. We will spend alot of time with your animals being home with Luna for a large portion of each day with plenty of time for walks! I have grown up with animals, and have taken in numerous rescue cats and have rehomed them aswell as have worked with stray dogs in rescue homes. Currently we share a home with rescue tabby TomKat and long time senior resident, gizmo the Maltese. We will bring a caring, reliable, organised touch with us to your home. I have experience during past travels caring for a range of properties, city and rural, all treated with respect for owners homes & privacy. I have also co run a B&B and am very aware of presentation & house related issues involving, repairs & maintenance. My house sit motto is: 'do no harm' I will always return houses to the owners in the condition received- if not better. There is always the option to keep regular email/skype contact with the owners if desired, I am non-smoking and am able to provide you with references on request.Looking forward to hearing from you:)
Hi! There's no question about it: house sitting is a job that needs to be taken seriously. We are being asked to take care of your worldly possessions and beloved fur babies. Our little family can give your family all the time and freedom you need to go away and have peace of mind without having to worry about your home and pets. While you're holidaying we will take care of everything as lovingly and carefully as you do.Maybe having a small family in your home never really crossed your mind? Many home owners have families themselves, and have no problem handing over the keys to other respectful family house sitters. So we would like you to see it as a bonus! We are a healthy, clean, non-smoking family who will look after your home and pets as you would expect. We have lived in the suburbs and on acreage and can happily manage different size properties (including those with pools) and all sizes and varieties in pets. We are self-employed and home educate. So what does that mean for you? More time, flexibility and most importantly, the ability to be at home during the day, keeping your home even more secure and giving your pets lots of love and attention day and night while you're away. Having owned pets in the past we understand the responsibility and most importantly the love that all animals deserve!Desley is a Justice of The Peace (Qualified), a Hairdresser and Beauty Therapist (Self Employed) and also holds a current Working with Children (Blue) Card.Jason is a Self Employed Independent Contractor and also holds a current Working with Children (Blue) Card.Joel is 10 and just loves life! Being able to experiment with all things he loves on his home schooling journey is such a great experience for him and all the pets we look after just adore having him around all the time.We have strong, stable, family and moral values and this will show when you meet us.We are comfortable giving your pet medication or dealing with a special needs pet and also love being able to take your pet on outings with us (if you allow).Currently booked back to back for house sitting over the next several months, we believe reflects the trust that people have in us.References are available and we are happy to talk over the phone, facetime, skype, and/or meet up for a chat to see how you feel about inviting us to look after your pets and home, taking the responsibility seriously. *(You may notice that our references sometimes refer to “boys”. Our eldest, Jarrod 17yrs, is employed full time as a 2nd Year Apprentice Boilermaker and has become independent (yay!) and is no longer living with us).
We are currently traveling in our caravan and are keen to house sit wherever
Michael and I love dogs and animals. In fact dogs go out of their way to say hello to Michael whenever they encounter him. They instinctively know that he is trustworthy and cares about them. We had two dogs for seventeen years and really miss the walks so taking your pets for a walk would be a delightful pastime for us. We would care for your home as if it were our own and that means it would be kept spotless and well maintained. We are non smokers and very health conscious so no toxic chemicals would be used by us when cleaning your place. We are a mature couple who work from home, wherever that may be at the time, and spend our time visiting our family and friends who are located in parts of NSW, QLD and Vic.
I am a recently seperated sinlge mum with 2 daughters who are 12 & 10yrs of age. I completed a Bachelor's at USC in 2015 and this year I intend to do a post grad by long distance. I have a vision of starting a few projects. Organising these takes up most of my time. My daughters are well behaved, quiet, tidy and they adore any kind of animal especially pugs & ragdoll cats. We have come from a home that had dogs, cats & fish and we are all capable of caring for any pets and would enjoy doing so. We have a strong Christian faith and will value and respect you and what is of value to you. I am a non smoker. I would prefer long term sitting but am happy to help out for short term as well. We are seeking to house sit to help us save money as rental prices are so expensive at the moment. Thanks so much for considering us.
