We are home owners and appreciate the responsibility of looking after someone’s home and their much loved pets. We adore animals of all kinds and often dog sit our son’s miniature schnauzer “Beardsley” whom we affectionately call our grandson. We appreciate your consideration in viewing our application and your favourable response.

We are able to provide references, police check certificate, finger print certificate on request.

Hi! I'm friendly, respectful, responsible and clean, and currently taking time off from work. I would be happy to look after your home and pets.

I moved to Sydney several years ago to work in a renewable energy not-for-profit organisation as a community organiser. It's a stressful line of work, and so I'm taking a long-overdue sabbatical to rest and recuperate. I think of it as taking a year of my retirement early.

I grew up with dogs, walking and feeding them every day. I recently did a few house-sitting stints for family, friends and friends of friends, looking after their pets and garden, and so I can provide them as references.

I'm an outgoing, active, outdoorsy person, though I'm fairly quiet when at home. I will happily spend my time looking after your house and pets, reading, practising my cello, going jogging, volunteering in local bush re-vegetation projects, and occasionally going out to spend time with friends.

I'm happy to share with you anything else about me that you'd like to know, and look forward to meeting you, your home, and your beloved pets.

We are an active couple in our 60's who live on a purpose built property with our extended family. Grandchildren are wonderfull but its nice to get away every now & then for a change of scenery. We have 2 labradors & chooks on our property the care of which we share with the family. We have always had dogs in our lives as well as cats, horses, fish, chooks. Our favourite animals are dogs. We treat them as family. We walk our two Labs every day (for our own health as well as theirs) - We love to travel and in between saving for the next OS trip like to do short breaks to satisfy our need for change. We like reading, watching movies, good food and have a glass of wine at night only. Non smokers. Fastidious in the house although we do let our dogs inside at night for a cuddle. We housesat for 4 months whilst our new houses were being built & we have done 2 houseswops and 2 non recipricol guest hosting. In earlier years we hosted exchange students when our children were still at home.

  • Alice Springs, Darwin, Melb. NE suburbs

Steve is a freelance nature photographer and I am a freelance nature & outdoor travel writer. We spend most of our time roaming Australia taking photos and writing articles, and from time to time we like to take a break to catch up on work and to spend time in one place caring for animals and/or tending to a home and garden. We are both animal-lovers, and the only drawback to our lifestyle is that we can't have pets. Steve was previously a primary and middle school teacher in a number of schools in the Melbourne area. I was a child-therapist many moons ago before becoming a full-time freelance writer. We are both originally from the United States but we are now proud Australia citizens (a process that included police background checks). We will care for your animals, and your home and garden, as if it were our own. Please visit our website at Natural Wanders for more information on our work and our background. You may also want to visit our Pet & House Sitting Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LindaStevePetSitting.
-We are a non-smoking, vegetarian, married couple who will keep your home tidy and clean and your pets happy and safe.
-We work from 'home', in this case your home, so we would not be leaving your animals for long periods during the day.
-We would not invite others to your home, and aside from a glass of wine or a beer with dinner, we don't drink.
-We have respect for the privacy and property of others: simply close the doors of (or advise us of) rooms you do not want us to go in and we won't!
-Once we accept a housesit, we do not back out unless there is a dire emergency. Please email us if you have any questions. Thank you.
*For your protection, we are email, phone & address certified, identity verified via document check, letters of recommendation. We had police checks when we went through the process of becoming Australian citizens.

Hello! My name's Madeline. I'm Brisbane born and bred, however have spent the past couple of years living in Sydney to pursue my career in broadcast media. I arrived back in Brisbane around 4 months ago and have been helping my step mum out with my little brother and sister (7 year old twins!).

As you can imagine, the house gets quite full at times so I'd like to be able to give them some space from time to time. My contract with work is only until September so I don't want to go on a lease, meaning house sitting is perfect for me!

I'm clean, honest, reliable and a non smoker who has been living in share houses for years. I will respect your space and your belongings and take the best care of your pets! I have enclosed two written references, one from my landlord in Ashgrove of 3 years, Carmel Fellows and another from a previous employee. My current boss will be happy to speak to you on the phone if you require.

Hello
We are a semi-retired couple travelling and exploring. In the last four years we have travelled and housesat overseas and here at home in Australia. We have shared our lives with many companion animals over the years, and quite a few more in our house sitting assignments. We consider ourselves true animal lovers and they are always our number one priority in any sit.
We are experienced home owners having owned several over the years. You can go away with peace of mind knowing that we will care for your home as if it were our own. We have several housesitting references, property references and recent Police Certificates (the latter are available on request)
I (Paul) am a semi-retired photographer. Pauline is retired, describing herself as an artist in training. Travelling to new places, meeting new people and animals is the way we like to live. We enjoy time at "home" wherever that might be, so your pets will have plenty of company.
At the moment we are housesitting in Melbourne and, while we welcome more time here, we are open to opportunities to explore other parts of Australia.
We hope to hear from you and to caring for your pets and home.
Thank you

Emily

  • Alice Springs, Darwin, Northern QLD, MT Isa & N. Western, WA

Hi my name is Emily and I am a 37 year old female, professional (teacher). I have decided to take a 12 month break and travel around Australia. Hopefully get some experience in things other than teaching and visit some new places. I am traveling with my 2 year old Labrador - Elvis. He loves all dogs and has had some exposure to farm animals. He sleeps outside and is more than happy to chill at home and is obedient. We will be around the North Queensland area from January 2017, so are very happy to organise a meet and greet so everyone is happy. I am traveling with a camper trailer, so can sleep in that if need be (& just require somewhere to park it).

I am looking for house sits in Northern Queensland from January to July 2017 and in WA from August to January 2018. I am a non-drinker, non-smoker and active person that will spoil all animals big or small. I enjoy gardening and like to keep the house neat and tidy. I have done many offical and unofficial house sits over the years and looked after cats, dogs, lizards, chickens, fish and a variety of gardens. I am a fairly handy person and have lived on average myself over the years and am happy to care for farm animals too.

References and a Police Check (via my VIT - teaching accreditation) can be provided upon request.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Quentin

I would be very interested in house sitting for you while you are away from home.

I am a non smoking professional person who works fulltime with no children or pets. Having house sat continuously in the Canberra vicinity since Christmas 2006, I have a reputation as a trusted and reliable house sitter.

Being from a farm, I am very used to caring for animals large and small. I particularly enjoy walking dogs.

Please be assured that I would look after your home, pets and garden as if they were my own.

Happy to provide references if required.

  • ACT, NSW, Darwin, QLD, SA, TAS, WA

I'm an experienced house sitter and have been house sitting full time now for over 18 months and prior to that at various short term house sits for a couple of years. I have experience with many dogs, small and large and up to 3 at a time, cats, chickens and birds. I enjoy walking the dogs and happy to walk them every day, if required, have also been known to have to walk a cat as well! I have also house sat where I have had to look after a pool and spa and watering of gardens. I also consider myself to be a clean freak and will return your home in the same condition that it was when you left and will look after it as though it was my own. In recent years I have been lucky to do an apartment sit in Hiroshima Japan, and a couple of house sits in NZ. I am a non-smoker and am single and have no pets. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
I have now just completed 6 months of house/dog sitting in Perth Western Australia and Darwin for 2 months and enjoyed every minute of it. I am now heading back south to the Sunshine Coast to where I usually live until the New Year. If you are looking for a house sitter while you have a break over Christmas/new year or school holidays I would love to look after your house and/or pets as though they were my own.

AVAILABLE FROM AROUND OCTOBER 2017 ONLY. PLEASE DO CONTACT US WITH ANY LONG-TERM OPPORTUNITIES!

OCTOBER 2106: Thank you for all the offers to house sit over Christmas, but as we have been unsuccessful in securing other sits before then, we have no choice but to return to Europe where we have other offers.

*****************************************************

Non-smoking, genuinely caring and 100% reliable with high standards of hygiene and tidiness. Originally from England & Spain, we also have New Zealand citizenship.

House sitting internationally since April 2014, we are incredibly proud of our references and reputation. We have a wide range of skills and personal qualities to guarantee our hosts' peace of mind. We are:

** EXPERIENCED. As of October 2016, we have successfully completed over 30 house sits in 13 different countries (including Australia!)

** HOUSE PROUD. We don't ask for luxury, but we do prefer uncluttered spaces maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.

** RESPONSIBLE and DISCREET. We are very safety conscious and won't bring guests into your home without your consent.

** CONSIDERATE. We use all utilities responsibly, and treat your home with the respect it deserves.

** PROACTIVE. We are capable and dependable - if something crops up in your absence, we'll deal with it!

** KEEN and ADAPTABLE. Always happy to lend a hand and pick up new skills. We can perform all basic gardening tasks and have some experience of looking after swimming pools.

** EXCELLENT COMMUNICATORS. We are friendly and approachable, keep at least 3 methods of communication open in your absence and send you regular pictures and updates.

** FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT. Self-employed IT professionals working from our laptops - we spend a lot of time at home with the pets!

** PHYSICALLY FIT and HEALTHY. We don't smoke, drink alcohol in moderation only, and have never done drugs of any sort. Our biggest vice is chocolate...

************************************************

And what about the pets?

** CAT SPECIALISTS. Former cat owners ourselves, we have almost exclusively looked after cats whilst house sitting. Additionally, we volunteered for the feline branch of our local SPCA for 14 months in New Zealand in 2013-14.

>> We have experience with young and senior/geriatric cats, administering medication, and are particularly good with shy cats!

** OTHER PETS. Anything small and furry (even rats, which we owned in NZ). Tropical fish tanks and ponds. Chooks and ducks. Reptiles and amphibians. Happy to consider other pets as well, but please note we cannot accept sits that involve dog care.

** WILDLIFE. We are always grateful for any opportunity to observe and care for the local fauna. We have looked after bird baths and feeders, fed wild wallabies and even a semi tame possum by hand.

************************************************

Our needs are simple but nonetheless critical, and if granted would allow us to achieve a perfect win-win situation for all:

- INTERNET CONNECTION. Our main requirement is a fast, reliable connection so we can continue to work.

- COMFORTABLE BED. Ideally 160+ cm wide or 2 separate beds. Although healthy in every other way, I do suffer from a sleep disorder which means I am a very light sleeper and toss & turn a lot throughout the night, so smaller beds unfortunately mean poor sleep for both of us. Please note this also means we cannot share our bed with the pets.

- PEACEFUL ENVIRONMENT where we can work and relax (and sleep!) without major disturbances. We wish to avoid heavy/fast traffic, barking dogs, loud music etc, so we respectfully ask that you are honest with us about the reality of your living environment.

- TRANSPORT. Access to a car would be a huge bonus. We have borrowed many hosts' cars and have never had an issue anywhere. We have full, clean driving licences and can drive automatic and manual cars.

- Last but not least, as mentioned before, we are very HOUSE PROUD and only wish to house sit for home owners with the same standards, and live in smoke free and drug free environments.

************************************************

If you are still with us... thank you for reading until the end! If you feel we are a good match for each other, we would love to hear from you.

You can also visit our website and accompanying Facebook page, which you can find easily under "CatMadSitters", to read more about us, see all our references and browse through many photos.

We like to house sit as it lets us experience another area and neighbourhood in a relaxed friendly way. We have done a lot of travelling and many house sits in Australia and overseas- several in England and Scotland and one in Turkey over the last 10+ years. We are clean and careful people and house owners have been appreciative of our efforts.
We are tidy, practical people who like walking and being active and exploring new areas. We are not really animal people people but have farm experience useful for emergencies and have had family pets in the past. High maintenance and energy pets are not suitable for us. No pets is ideal!!
We cannot come to a 'smoking' house. We use our own vehicle so location near transport is not necessary. We have cared for country houses in Tasmania before and it worked out well.

Hi My name is Carolina. I am from South America and I am married and I have lived in Australia for three years. My husband works away I do not have children and unfortunately I had to leave my sweet doggie called Little star (who is sleeping with her Teddy bear) at home. I really miss her and I thought that his is a good opportunity to relief someone from the stress that means to leave your loved house and pets while I make something that makes me happy. My family jokes about the fact that I treat my pets as babies and I am very proud of that... maybe that is why Reeno (my neighbour white maltese) sleeps in my chest sometimes and my husband has to share his side of the bed with my friends doggies when they come to visit. I am a personal assistant and previosluy i worked some years as a carer for people with disabilities hence I am good with housekeeping. i love to keep my house clean and I understand other people liek the same. I can happily sleep with your fury babies, prepare special foods for them or even a bday cake (in case you missed their bday) also I promise to send as many pictures as you want of them and the house status. i can do house sitting for short period of time from one to 3 days. Please feel free to ask me question and thanks for reading my profile.

Currently living in southern NSW, I have been housesitting since early 2016. So far all my sits have been in Vic and NSW and they have been quite diverse, from rural to city to seaside; from start-of-the-art new homes to well-loved older dwellings; animals cared for include cats, dogs from small to large, and aviary birds.

As an inveterate traveller i am happy to sit anywhere in the country. I travel solo, so no worries about wild parties.

I am pretty boring i guess, being a non-smoker, don't use drugs or any funky stuff, rarely drink alcohol. A registered nurse, I no longer work in the hospital setting, but use multiple non-drug therapies for emotional wellness facilitation. Being a nurse, i have had regular police checks for the past twenty plus years...and since nothing has changed i am sure i will pass any criminality check you may desire.

I am comfortable with most animals, having spent years on a farm. My daughter is a vet nurse, so that says a bit about the presence of animals during her childhood... we had chooks, goldfish, budgies, cats, dogs, horses, goats and cattle.

I have references from home owners that i have helped out in the past months since i started this adventure. All state that they found their home 'immaculate' and 'cleaner than when i left', and several have wanted to rebook me for future dates. So i guess that means that they and their pets are happy ;-)

By the way i have a good ENJO cleaning kit so all my cleaning is done chemical free.

CARMEN

  • Darwin, Perth, Kimberly/North

Hi from Carmen

To describe myself, I am honest, sincere, trustworthy, respectful, and compassionate. An independent single woman fit and at 54 am retired. A non-smoker, almost non-drinker, outgoing, optimistic and don’t take myself too serious. Although I am a social person, I am not into bars or clubs and prefer a walk on the beach or an afternoon in a park or the great outdoors. I enjoy my own company, like quiet and am very capable of looking after myself.
My motto in life: “To live each day to the fullest so you can look forward with confidence and back without regrets.”

Two of my biggest passions in life are: My great love for animals. I believe it is a privilege to share our lives with a pet. Sharing almost 2 decades of my life with my cats, Vavaldi who lived to be 17 years and his sister Rosie who passed away 2-1/2 years ago at the age of 19 years, I know the joy and unconditional love pets bring into our lives.
My other passion is travel, and I have been very fortunate to experience some amazing places, learned about many different cultures and have met some beautiful people from many different countries. Favourite places would be the many National Wildlife parks in Africa, the beach and ocean as well as walking down the streets in old European cities.

I also love creating with my hands and as a 25 year potter, continue to take great pride in shaping clay into form on my pottery wheel in my studio. Growing up in Germany, I lived in Vancouver, Canada for 22 years and migrated to Australia 19 years ago.

Having had a number of pet/house-sitters during my travels over the years, I know firsthand the anxiety and worries one feels when entrusting the lives of ones’ pets to a complete stranger.
Even though I don’t have a pet of my own now, every morning, when my neighbour leaves for work, I pick up Lilly a 5 year old red Heeler-Staffy and BamBam their 13 year old Chihuahua who share my day and stay with me when they are away on holidays. I have also cared for and looked after my best friends dogs and other pets over the years.

As a homeowner for 14 years, I am very houseproud, clean, tidy and take great pride in looking after my home. Our homes are not just 4 walls, but they are a reflection of who we are, what we value and what we hold dear. Having personally experienced, what it is like to invite a stranger(s) into your house and entrust that person to look after your home, I guarantee you that I will respect and look after your property. Living independent and having done major renovations over the years to my house, I am very capable of mowing lawns, looking after gardens and general maintenance.

In my professional careers I worked both in Health Care Administration as well as an artist-potter. Growing up with a large variety of different pets, my love for animals began very early on and as a child, I often brought home strays and wildlife that needed love and care. I found Rosie and Vavaldi when they were 6 weeks old having been dumped. That day I promised them, they would never go hungry again and that they will always be loved and looked after. I brought them with me to Australia when they were 2 years old. The love and happiness Rosie and Vavaldi gave me during their lives, is indescribable and they will always be in my heart. I can promise you that as your pet sitter, the safety, caring for and looking after your pet(s) is paramount.

Not being ready to have another pet of my own, I have been considering pet sitting for a while now. For my 55th birthday next year, I am giving myself a snorkel with the Whale Sharks up at Ningaloo Reef and a dive with Mantas which has been on my bucket list. As it is also my 20 year anniversary of migrating to Australia I always wanted to finish travelling the West Coast of our Country. I had only been in Perth for a few days 19 years ago and have always wanted to go back to see more of Perth so combining my two passions of my love for pets and travel, house/pet sitting is the perfect choice.

Am able to provide referees upon request.

  • Alice Springs, Darwin, Kangaroo Island, TAS, Melb. Inner suburbs, Bendigo, Macedon Ranges, Ballarat, Otway Ranges/ Great Ocean Rd

After a long career running my own social enterprise in the UK where I placed thousands of people into volunteering opportunities in international development I'm here in Australia on a consultancy contract for 6 months with Australian Volunteers International based in Fitzroy, Melbourne. My boyfriend Max has travelled with me and we are both enjoying the transition into Melbourne life. Max is a barista and works full time for a local roastery/cafe. I have lots of family in Melbourne and grew up here so know the area well and it's nice to be back and have the opportunity to get to know the city again.

We are looking for house sitting opportunities while we are here - both long and short term so we can settle down whilst enjoying a few days here and there travelling around. We have done a lot of house sitting in the UK and love it. We love animals and my work has become flexible enough to allow me to work from home so we can care for pets that need or like a lot of attention! I had my own cat in the UK and would love the opportunity to have one again short term! Max is a qualified product designer and this comes in very handy if anything needs repairing in the house or when a practical hand is needed. We aren't seasoned gardeners but would be very happy watering, weeding, mowing and generally keeping things well maintained. Since being in Australia we have done some house sitting for friends working in academia who travel a lot and they would be happy to provide references, as would our connections in the UK.

Max and I work full time in the city but outside of this love food and spend a lot of time in restaurants and cafes! We also love nature and trying to get out into the forest from time to time. I practice yoga daily and Max loves to cook. Our references - work, personal, other house sisters - will be happy to chat at any time and will vouch for the fact that we are clean, tidy, reliable and generally nice people. I look forward to hearing from you!

  • Canberra, Darwin, Gold Coast & Hinterland

I am a 68 year old single lady, very clean, quiet living and non smoker who's family are scattered all over the country and I would love to be able to visit them more often without feeling that I am underfoot by staying with them. As I no longer have animals of my own I am able to move about more freely, but would adore being able to spoil someone else's cat or dog. I actually animal sit for neighbours and their only complaint is that the animals are too spoilt by the time they get back! Having been a property manager for 20 years I am very conscious of looking after someone else's property and can guarantee it will be in the same condition when you return as when you left it.

HOME IS WHERE YOUR HEART IS

......which means to be capable of finding something beautiful in every place you are and explore the world and the lifestyle of other people with an open heart. To take care of somebody else's home means to be aware of the foundation of trust and the responsibility to give the house owners a comfortable feeling while being abroad. For us, this means giving our best to fulfill the needs of all the members of the family, no matter if it's a cat, a dog, a plant or all meaningful facilities. What makes us a trustworthy house carers? Not only our empathy consorting with animals as we both grew up with dogs and cats, our experience with finding homes all over the world, but also the awareness of responsibility and sensitivity required for this kind of exercise. We are an open-minded, kind and giving couple who want to spend some time in Australia before moving there, where the mother of one of us is already settled.
So if you are looking for all these characteristics in a person or two, we might be the perfect people to take care for the place you call home!

If you have any further questions or want to have a more personal talk, we are available for a Skype talk or phone call.

Hopefully see you soon!

I'm a PhD student at the University of Sydney completing my dissertation in Art History. I work part time as a curator and run my own business. I love animals of all shapes and sizes! I grew up between the NSW coast and a family farm, so I know how to take care of most animals, and I can also ride horses. I have learned a lot about botany and horticulture from my mum, so I'm good with plants and really enjoy gardening. My claim to fame is growing a thriving indoor garden at my last house in Bondi that featured a ceiling-height fern! I enjoy peace and quiet and my own company, and don't mind being in a regional or rural area as it gives me a great chance to write my thesis! I haven't owned a home yet but have held a few long-term leases, and can provide great references from my landlords.

Hello, we are a friendly, clean, trustworthy and reliable couple in our mid thirties.
NON-smokers / police check available / references available / experience with caring for pets / experience with gardening and pool maintenance.

We are NOT party people - preferring to socialise over a delicious, home cooked meal and are respectful of our environment and those around us.

We have extensive house and pet sitting experience and have had many recommendations.
We have experience caring for various types of pets and know what it takes to look after and maintain a home & garden and enjoy doing so.

Michael and I love dogs and animals. In fact dogs go out of their way to say hello to Michael whenever they encounter him. They instinctively know that he is trustworthy and cares about them. We had two dogs for seventeen years and really miss the walks so taking your pets for a walk would be a delightful pastime for us.
We would care for your home as if it were our own and that means it would be kept spotless and well maintained. We are non smokers and very health conscious so no toxic chemicals would be used by us when cleaning your place.
We are a mature couple who work from home, wherever that may be at the time, and spend our time visiting our family and friends who are located in parts of NSW, QLD and Vic.

We have come from a home that had dogs, cats & fish and we are all capable of caring for any pets and would enjoy doing so. We have a strong Christian faith and will value and respect you and what is of value to you. I am a non smoker. I would prefer long term sitting but am happy to help out for short term as well. We are seeking to house sit to help us save money as rental prices are so expensive at the moment. Thanks so much for considering us.

Hi. My old border collie is now watching over my garden so I am headed for a sea/tree change and available to give your pets the same level of attention and care. I have looked after dogs, cats, chooks, gardens and pools in the NT, Vic. and, most recently, NSW. I will treat your home with the same respect as my own.

I am a non-smoker and have a current Working With Children Check (the vetting process includes a national police check). I would be happy to provide contact details for human referees as required.

hello im erica and im definetly looking for my next house sitting i a big home body and rarely leave the place as per my car accident a few years ago, so im not currently working but i would still love the opportunity to see what australia has to offer as no more long flights for me unfortunetly but thats why i have signed up here and il hopefully be your next sitter im a very very clean person inside and outside and reliable person and a huge animal lover of all breeds and sizes i do have a cat and a dog myself and they both live right next to me as im a big affection giver thats why my cat returns everytime i let it go outside oh n the food of course haha but have had pretty much every sort of pet there was available when i was a child so pets are what i do best and have yet found a dog who doesnt like me (knock on wood) and hopefully i never will because the do say dogs are very good judges of character.
thats me in a nutshell if you have any questions feel free to contact me anytime.. all the best.

Hi, We are a couple 67 and 60. We have just retired and have already done a number of house sits on Magnetic island and in the Brisbane area. We have enjoyed it immensely, we now would like to get more into house sitting to see more of this wonderful country. Our house sitting preference at this time would be Queensland or Northern NSW, however we are looking at all states.
We have lived in our own house in Coffs Harbour for 40 years. We are a very stable couple who pride ourselves on looking after other peoples houses and animals the same as we look after our own.
Although we have not had any dogs or cats at home we do have quite a bit of experience with animals, looking after many different kinds during the house sitting jobs that we have previously done. Spencer has also worked at an animal park for 40 years.
We have bred birds as a hobby for the last 10 years.
We are sure your house and animals would be in good hands with us looking after it while you are away.
We are both non-smokers and enjoy the outdoors. References are available.
Please call us to discuss any needs you may have.

Thank you for considering us as caretakers for your property and pets. To help you in assessing our suitability for your house sit, here are some brief details:

* We are a retired business couple with a background in tourism/hospitality; home is Tasmania when not on the road; active, healthy, non-smokers

* As clean, tidy and conscientious homeowners ourselves, we know how important it is to you to choose the best caretakers for yours

* Our housesitting experience to date covers the five mainland states plus Tassie

*Pets/animals we have cared for include horses, dogs, sheep, pigs, birds/poultry, frogs and fish. We can feed and care for cats, but not pamper as Sharyl is allergic

* Our sits have included several smallholdings (up to 12 acres) and a 5000-acre mixed farm (sheep and crops); we are keen (edible) gardeners and Ron is experienced with ride-on mowers

* Personal, business and houseowner references and police checks are available on request
