I am a non smoker, lead a quiet life, am responsible and accountable. I would be happy to care for your home.

Happily married, and still in love after many years of working together 24/7, we decided to retire early and take the time and opportunity to explore this great Southern land. With our four-legged child, a 6 year old Poodle/Maltese X, we like to spend periods of time in places that please us. We've met fabulous folk and seen wonderful sights on our journey. Now we'd love to learn more about the area in which you live!In our former life we were kitchenware wholesalers and retailers, with a cooking school - where John taught many culinary classes. He is passionate about real food and good nutrition, and continues to cook up a storm on the road! Michele is a qualified dog trainer. A Certified Training Partner of the, internationally recognised, Karen Pryor Academy she works with private clients and also volunteers at RSPCA centres. Caring for your pets is an absolutely joy for her - and she'll happily train any problem behaviours you may be experiencing ... or just teach your fur baby a few neat tricks in your absence! All just part and parcel of the house sitting service! With Michele in residence, your pets will enjoy the time out and holiday just as much as you will!We also have experience with a variety of farm animals, and can administer needles and medications as required. We enjoy the outdoor life enormously! We're mature - AND we still know how to have fun! We're energetic, active and interested in everything. Walking every day is important to us, and keeps us all fit. Other than that, we're quite content to stay @ home and enjoy the ambience. Pottering in the garden is always a pleasure - never a chore. We have a travelling, potted herb garden ... essential for the chef! Actually, we're healthier and happier now than ever before. We're non-smokers and we need a smoke-free environment. We keep a clean and tidy caravan, and will treat your house with due care and respect. We're responsible, reliable and trustworthy. As former home owners, we understand that you want the peace of mind that comes with the right people caring for your critter-kids and castle. We are those people, and would love hear from you.Links to Michele's professional training qualifications, and other relevant information is available on request. This site will not permit us to include them in our profile. Character references also available on request.
WHO I AM: A responsible & trustworthy 33yr old non-smoker, I have housesat worldwide & have many great references and repeat clientele. I love having animals around me, especially adore cats and horses, and have a soft spot for well-behaved dogs. I am house-proud, & really enjoy every-day tasks of caring for a home as if it were my own. A scientist, ecologist then yacht-stewardess, I am not quite sure i have finished with travelling the world, but it sure is nice to come home for a while. Housesitting gives me the chance to work out 'where' and 'what' next, whilst saving a little bit for wherever the next adventure might take me. And as an animal lover, whilst my currently-nomadic life doesn't allow for my own pets, I take much pleasure in caring for your much-loved family pets, knowing I am providing them with consistency in their routine and a comfy lap and scritches at their merest hint of the request. I am honest, careful, with a high attention to detail, respectful of your wishes, and have a police check & many references.*** WHAT I HAVE DONE IN THE RECENT PAST: I worked for a number of years as a scientist, saved and bought a townhouse in Melbourne, before deciding to see the world, pursuing my love of nature and animals by participating in various animal volunteer projects in Latin America for two years, then working as a yacht stewardess to supplement further travel throughout Europe. I have been lucky to housesit (and boatsit) caring for many different pets all throughout my travels, which in turn gave me with much-needed animal companionship and a place to care for as if it were my own. ***WHAT I DO: Now I am returning to Australia for a few months to visit my best friend and her new baby (in Warragul) and to exact some repairs upon my (currently tenanted) townhouse (in Glenroy), to work on writing a book, and to study some. I do not intend to work in this short time so I will have heaps of quality time to spend with your pets and be added security presence for your home. I enjoy my own time and quiet space, and am the sort of person who enjoys meditation and yoga, walking through forests, quiet reflection, writing, and cooking fresh and nourishing meals. I do not take drugs, and am a firm NON-smoker who appreciates a smoke-free environment, so please do let me know if you are an inside smoker, so we can determine if this might affect our mutual suitability.*** CLEAN & TIDY: I am an extremely clean and tidy person, (force of habit from working in the yachting industry) so I appreciate the same in my surroundings. Any effort you make to clean and tidy your home before you go will be returned in-kind as I always leave a home better than how I found it, and with more joy in my heart for doing so when it is obvious you take pride in it too.*** REGULAR UPDATES: I have used Happy Housesitters in the past when I had to leave my own cat and home, so I totally understand how you feel & will keep you updated via email, facebook, whatsapp or Skype, as frequently as you wish, whilst you are away. The health and happiness of your pet, security of your home, and your peace-of-mind are my top priorities.*** GREAT REFERENCES: I can provide great references upon request (many of my sits have been overseas and by word-of-mouth, so references have not been sent through the happyhousesitter site, though I have plenty), and am happy to meet either in person if possible or via Skype, before you commit so you can see if I will be the perfect fit for you & your pets.*** EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE: I have experience with cats, dogs, horses, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, goats, fish, and birds.I am experienced & comfortable with administration of medicines, and small farm tasks. Please contact to discuss any requirements.*** HAPPY, HEALTHY PETS: Finally, I love all animals and seek first and foremost to keep them comfortable and happy, healthy and enjoying life. No request to this end is ever too big or too small.

Hello Home OwnersAs a writer of children's books and songs I am free to go anywhere and make my home anywhere, as long as I have my computer and good internet access (I have my own wireless internet)Writing, editing and research keeps me at home most days, so your pets will have plenty of company to keep them from fretting over your absence. I am an avid 'dog whisperer' fan and find those methods of interacting with dogs successful with dogs I know well, and also with dogs I have just met.HOUSE SITTING EXPERIENCESince 2013 I have completed 20+ housesits all without a problem and am often asked to do repeat house sits. I have no complaints and have never received a complaint. I have many references which home owners were happy to provide.I house sit up and down the NSW & Queensland coastline from Hervey Bay to Newcastle & Gosford. I plan to spend more time in Newcastle/Sydney from October 2016. I am planning a long term car trip to Airlie Beach/Cairns beginning June 2017 and am endeavouring to secure house sits along the way,ABOUT MY LIFE & FAMILYI am an ex-infants teacher and have worked as a carer to the disabled (certificate 111 )I have a daughter and a granddaughter in Newcastle. They have a beautifully trained and extra loving male staffy, Nungo. I house and dog sit for my family several times a year when they go skiing or visit their favourite destination, Hamilton Island. Nungo keeps me company and we have a lovely time together.I currently share a beautiful house in Murwillumbah, NSW with my sister and her staffy Uschi who is 8 months old. She arrived here at 7 weeks of age and is a delight to have in my life.WHAT I OFFER?I have been a loving caring friend to my own dogs and cats. I have lived with animals in my own homes long term, and have looked after the pets of my friends and relatives.DOGS & IIn the last few years I have learned much about dog psychology, and find this knowledge useful when approaching and looking after other people's pets.I had experienced house sitting and dog sitting for friends, so I thought I would put my experiences to good use and start house sitting professionally.CATS & IAs a child we always had a cat. Always a female & therefore I have experienced the birth (and care) of many kittens. As an adult I had two cats on separate occasions, Victoria and Adelaide. Victoria was baited and that was a horrific experience. The only thing that settled me was to go to the shelter to get another kitten. Adelaide approached us with her big meow.... no decision necessary. She lived a happy long life.TRUST AND COMMITMENTI have looked after many children, dogs, cats and the elderly in my career as a teacher, as a nanny, as personal carer and also as mother and grandmother. I have a great respect for life and all creatures and view life as a precious gift.I understand the services I need to provide as a house sitter, and these fit easily into the way I live my daily life.I have owned my own home and rented many others and have always left these homes as I found them or better. My main goals in life are: to do no harm, add joy where possible and to enjoy myself through trying new ways of living. That is why I feel house sitting is a great experience! Great for the home owner, who will receive peace of mind and excellent care for their home and pet/s. And great for my writing, providing new opportunities for me to meet more people and investigate 'the other side of the fence'.Looking forward to meeting you, being of service and building a relationship of mutual trust.KrystynaPs… please read my references, but contact details for references will be given only after we are close to agreeing on the house sit. I respect the privacy of all parties involved.
I am a single, fit and healthy 63yr old retired Nurse and part time house cleaner. I am very house proud and would treat your home with the same respect I would my own. I have previously volunteered in an animal rescue center caring for a wide variety of animals including, dogs, cats, birds, ducks and many others. I have also volunteered at a rescue center for abused and neglected horses. I enjoy a quite lifestyle and spending time at home which gives me plenty of time to keep your fur babies company. I also have a passion for gardening.I sold my own home to travel around Asia and am not ready to buy another property at this stage. I thought house sitting would be a wonderful alternative as I have house sat in the past and enjoyed it very much.I can provide references and a police check.Looking forward to hearing from you.
We are a mature age professional non-smoking couple. With occupations in healthcare and sales/management, we have excellent work and life ethics and would guarantee you would be pleased with us caring for your home and pets. We have rented out our house on Sunshine Coast and are now working and travelling our way around Australia in our caravan. We are fastidious with keeping our home/caravan in a high level of cleanliness We are always willing to house sit in rural areas or provincial towns as we would to be able to park our van. We are happy to sit in suburban areas if there is space to safely park our caravan. We are able to house sit for longer periods of time. We would consider it a privilege to look after your house or farm, pets and gardens. References available on request. Over last few years we have house sat across eastern Australia including Bendigo, Caloundra, Alexandra Headlands, Hervey Bay, Burleigh Waters, Mount Cotton and Sheidow Park SA.
Hello. I am a retired senior federal public servant, mature (sadly!), married woman looking to do some house sitting. I live with my husband in our own home on the Gold Coast and we currently have a dog and a cat. I am an experienced "pet" person, having had all manor of animals in my home, from mice, birds, fish to cats and dogs. Our own dog (a kelpie) is currently 7 years old and a very crazy young thing, needing lots and lots of exercise. He was supposed to be an outside dog, but somehow that rule hasn't been fully applied! Our cat is almost 4 and is very much busy with chasing the dog around. I am able to garden, clean the pool, look after the house and pets. I am a non smoker. Though I plan to "house sit" usually by myself, there would be times when my husband would join me for a short break. We are both thoroughly house trained! We are planning to formally retire in a few years and I feel that house sitting in different places would help me to get a feel for various districts by living like a local, rather than as a tourist. I am most happy to look after pets and would look after your home well. I have now done many house sits (and many return sits) and can forward names and contact details for these house owners as references. I have a written personal character reference that I can send on to you as well. Hopefully all will tell you how wonderful I am. Oh, and also that I am honest, reliable and trustworthy. You can email me on email@example.com anytime. My preference is for short breaks, up to three weeks or so, and around the ACT or anywhere in NSW. Thanks. Eeva
We are Robert and Noelene and a conservative active early 60s retired couple based out of Ballan in Victoria and our medium term (2018) preference is for house sits in southern WA. Noelene spent her early childhood years in south west WA and we hope to catch up with a sister, auntie, cousins, and nieces and nephews. We have travelled Australia extensively and look forward to continuing to explore all locations in slow time seeking house sits that might run for 30 days plus. We have extensive housesitting experience including suburban, country, short term rental properties and a bed and breakfast. We also enjoy remote locations having spent some time in outback Northern Territory. We enjoy Pets and have looked after dogs, cats and fish mostly, sometimes multiples with 3 cats and 3 medium size dogs making for interesting mealtimes and walks. We have a well behaved Female Golden retriever that loves to meet other furkids.Gardens, Lawns, general house chores, forwarding of mail and handy person jobs are typical and we are not scared to accept responsibility and other chores as agreed. We are clean and tidy, respect people's property and work to leave a property in same or better condition.
Recently moved to Melbourne for 12 month+ contract. I am keen to explore different suburbs before deciding where to settle. I have been sharing a house in Brisbane for several years with 2 large dogs (Kelpie and Mastiff/ Labadour cross) and miss their companionship. Last Christmas I minded a house in Brisbane with 3 small dogs, a fish tank and birds which was fun and kept me amused. The dogs enjoyed my company, playing fetch, watching TV with me and sleeping on my bed.Earlier this year, I minded a house in Ipswich for 10 days which included 2 active dogs and 2 cats.
I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy. My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything. I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.Hope we can assist each other .
We are a fit and healthy retired couple in our mid 70s living in Adelaide. We are interested in house sitting and caring for pets.We have references from past sitting.Prior to retiring we owned a farm and then a business. I have a police clearances for caring and volunteer-work. I like to keep a neat, tidy house and love craft.Col is a handyman and an ex- grader Both of us enjoy the outdoors and gardening.2017 we plan to travel around Australia beginning with WA. We have a 16 foot pop top caravan and enjoy travelling this wonderful country we live in. We are both non smokers.
We are on the road to retirement & looking forward to the next stage in our life, we are still doing some work via the internet & this means that we will be around for most of the time to care & watch over everything for you.As well as travelling & having new experiences along the way, we have found that house sitting really suits us as it is so comforting to stay in a friendly home environment & if there are pets or animals to look after, then their company is an added bonus! We love animals & wildlife & have had a long experience in caring for dogs, cats & farm animals. Unfortunately we no longer have our own pets, so we would welcome the opportunity to care for yours. Over the years we have also had extensive experience in house & garden maintenance having renovated our own properties & also as sitters, we have cared for a number of different types of homes & properties ranging from large farms through to smaller homes & units. We do understand that everyone's house & pets are different & we seriously take this on board & listen to each individuals requests & we will follow through with meeting your specific requirements while we stay & promise to keep you updated while you are away. The opportunity to become your house sitter would be a great privilege & something we would not take for granted, as we both understand it is a necessity to respect your house & property & keep it well maintained while in residence. We are both non smokers, healthy & happy people & look forward to hearing from you.If required we can provide further reputable references & recommendation contacts.Hope to hear from you !Susie & Gary

We are Jill and Pete and live in Bendigo, Victoria in our 1890 Victorian terrace home. Jill has her own consulting business and Pete, a town planner, works part time in project development for the City of Greater Bendigo. We are experienced, independent travellers looking for short term house sitting opportunities around Australia. We own rental properties and are very conscious of issues around care, maintenance and responsible tenancy. We are experienced pet owners - dogs, cats and horses. JIll is a life long labrador owner. Pete is a former dog breeder and obedience instructor. Both Jill and Pete are experienced as foster carers and accredited handlers with the Righteous Pups organisation, Bendigo. Righteous Pups trains labradors to be autism assistance dogs. Pete is an experienced horse rider and recently undertook study in horse care and management.
We are two retired, active, music and food loving schoolteachers with a penchant for travelling and enjoying new experiences. We have been involved in house and pet sitting for many years and in many places throughout Australia and overseas. While we have a home in Adelaide, we enjoy a nomadic lifestyle in our motorhome, which makes it unfair to have pets of our own. Housesitting allows us to indulge our love of animals and over the years we have cared for many dogs, cats, birds, horses, sheep, goats, cattle and the like, with dogs, whether big and boisterous or small and cuddly, being our special love. We are also meticulous in the attention we give to each property, whether it be an apartment, a suburban block or a rural spread. Recent experiences have included a 10 month stint on a Daintree acreage, return visits to a horse property and 3 months caring for two houses in the south of France. As Tony is something of a dab hand at housework and property maintenance and Helen is an expert at quality control, you can rest assured that your property and pets will be cared for as if they are our own. We will happily provide you with contact details for phone referees if required.
We are a professional couple located in Canberra and have previously completed a local house sit in between the sale of our house and the purchase of our new one. We have a seventeen year old daughter who loves school and enjoys part-time work. She is a mature young lady who loves animals of all shapes and sizes. We enjoy meeting and looking after new furry friends during house sits and our daughter currently does this in our home for Don't Fret Pet. We are clean and tidy non-smokers who respect other peoples property and privacy. Whilst we don't have Happy Housesitters references we are happy to forward both of our work histories which include over two decades service in the AFP and an executive HR management role with a not-for-profit.Our house sitting interest at the moment is for holiday breaks (either in or out of school holidays) as a family, or sometimes individually as I (Tony) don't work full time. Occasionally I am happy to get away for a break by myself. My wife encourages it;-)If you are after a small family who will take care of your pets and home as if they were their own then we would love to help.
We are a 'senior' couple (non-smokers) and have recently moved to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland area after having sold our rural property in Tasmania late last year.In 2017 we became "professional house sitters" and enjoyed the experience very much. However we made the decision to become home owners again late 2017, but this does not mean we have "retired" and will always consider any suitable situations. We would particularly be interested in discussing our suitability for your needs if you live in the Sydney Northern/Eastern suburbs, Melbourne City suburbs or far North Queensland. We are practical people and have mostly lived on small acreage properties in Tasmania. We've enjoyed the company of many pets over the years including 2 cats, 2 dogs, a pet sheep, 2 goats (so not 'pet'!) and chickens. We have had work experience related to housesitting placements when we worked on a remote Pilbara island, and in Coral Bay, WA. Doug was responsible for pool maintenance and general groundsman work, and I did housekeeping duties - and kitchen hand! It was a great experience living on a remote island, and fairly challenging coping with a Pilbara summer. We have also worked in a remote Aboriginal Community in the N.T. Doug was the Essential Services Operator and I looked after the Creche in the morning before changing hats to be the Centrelink Agent/general office admin. person in the afternoon. It was another wonderful opportunity and gave us an insight into the lives of Australia's indigenous people. During 2017 (our 'gap year') we had the pleasure of meeting several home owners and their pets, and now have experience with managing big, bouncy dogs to the little feisty ones, chooks and cattle. We can supply excellent references with one home owner declaring we would win a house sitter of the year award - if there was one!We fully appreciate that making the decision to have people you don't know come to your home and care for your pets, garden and house may be a difficult one. We would like to assure you we would take the time to listen to what is required for your 'loved ones' to remain happy in their home, and would promise to care and respect your property as if it was our own. We are honest and reliable people! Most recently we had police checks done, which is a requirement for people working for the Australian Electoral Commission in OIC roles at State and Federal Elections, and this we have done on many occasions. We are in the process of obtaining our own police checks. Also police checks were done when working in the N.T. and when I did volunteer work for Vinnies (Airlie Beach) and The Red Cross (South Perth). Our interests are travel, music (member of a Community Band) quilting, gardening, walking and baking. I love to discover new speciality shops, delis, etc. We enjoy concerts and the theatre. Below are two references, contact details could be supplied once you have made contact with us, and as we receive new ones we will add them as well. Thanks for taking the time to read our profile, and we look forward to hearing from you.Thérèse and Doug Boote.

I have had a number of careers from Cadet Surveyor in Tasmania, a Patrol Officer (Kiap) with the Australian Government in remote outstations in Papua New Guinea, and a career in administration and sales in the Aluminium and Timber Industries in Australia. I am a retired CPA (Degree in Commerce) and am a JP (Qual) in Queensland. I am a very practical and hands on person and able to take on many tasks. As owner builders Margaret and I built our two story timber home at Hervey Bay where we lived for 20 years prior to basing ourselves at Agnes Water in Queensland. During our seven years in PNG I was posted to very isolated outstations where I was responsible for most government matters including police, magisterial, treasury and local government affecting the local people of a sub district. We are quite happy to house sit in areas that are isolated.Margaret as a retired early childhood teacher has taught in Primary schools in Tasmania, NSW, PNG, ACT and Queensland for the past 42 years. She loves gardening and outdoors. We have owned swimming pools in Brisbane and Townville and know how to maintain them.We have had many pets over the years. Our last two dogs were a German Shepherd and a three kg toy poodle who were great mates as we had them at the same time. We do not have pets now.We have our own self contained off road caravan and could be independent. We have house and pet minded at the town of Seventeen Seventy (near Agnes Water) on two occasions looking after three large dogs.We are currently travelling our way around Australia and wish to see and experience as much as we can.We have a son in Sydney and a daughter at Agnes Water and four grandchildren who we love dearly and visit regularly.
