Hi, We are a couple 67 and 60. We have just retired and have already done a number of house sits on Magnetic island and in the Brisbane area. We have enjoyed it immensely, we now would like to get more into house sitting to see more of this wonderful country. Our house sitting preference at this time would be Queensland or Northern NSW, however we are looking at all states.
We have lived in our own house in Coffs Harbour for 40 years. We are a very stable couple who pride ourselves on looking after other peoples houses and animals the same as we look after our own.
Although we have not had any dogs or cats at home we do have quite a bit of experience with animals, looking after many different kinds during the house sitting jobs that we have previously done. Spencer has also worked at an animal park for 40 years.
We have bred birds as a hobby for the last 10 years.
We are sure your house and animals would be in good hands with us looking after it while you are away.
We are both non-smokers and enjoy the outdoors. References are available.
Please call us to discuss any needs you may have.

After living and working in Australia for over 5yrs previously, I have returned to this beautiful country for travel and tourism for the next 12 months, this allows me to spend as much time as needed with your pets.

I have completed two recent house sits and can provide references. I am available in Melbourne, VIC from the 10th December 2017 (this date is flexible)

Please call me at any time to discuss your needs.

Hello! I am a non smoker, non drinker, clean living, early to bed, early to rise, tidy, fit & active woman that is looking for house sits for current financial reasons. I have house sat many times over the last 25 years at various times. I have been actively house sitting again since 2016 without any problems. I do have a 2yr old daughter who would be with me. She loves being outside most of the day though and absolutely loves all kinds of animals. She will happily throw the ball to dogs for literally hours at a time so if you have a dog that loves attention then we are your house sitters! I do come armed with portable shelf/cupboard/drawer locks and also baby gates to seal off rooms if needed. Upon saying this, she is very well supervised by me and I am very careful in instructing her, as such we have not to date had any problems. Usually the dogs we sit have a lovely time as she gives them so much attention! We love to walk at the beach (&dog beach) and also in parks / nature every day. That is my exercise and grounding, so it is a given that we will definately walk your dogs. I do have a Standard Poodle, Shiloh who is 11 yrs old but she can either come with me or if needed I have several people she can happily stay with (relatives, friends, my adult son, etc..) Shiloh is extremely well trained, does not bark or dig or fight with other dogs. She is very friendly with other dogs and cats, she loves a good play. She does sleep a lot now that she is older.Being a poodle she doesn't drop hair either and can sleep outside if need be. I can easily walk her and another dog at the same time as she walks right next to me and is very obedient, I do walk her with other dogs often. So if our situation sounds like it will work for your home and pets please consider us! Kind Regards, Holly

I am a 47 year old female, single, non-smoker, non-drinker working in Forensic Sciences at Macleod so need to be able to commute daily. I have been employed in Forensics since July 2001. I have recently sold my home in Kilsyth and am keen to just "chill out" for the next few years without a mortgage....ahhh mortgage free for a few years is a wonderful thought. I love all animals whether furry, feathered, hooved etc and currently have an old husky of my own, Dylan is 11 1/2 years old. (house trained, doesn't dig or destroy property, she sleeps most of day now :) ) I volunteer at RSPCA Burwood every second Friday for the day. Being a home owner myself (until recently) I understand the gravity of inviting a stranger into your home to care for it, I can assure you that I would respect your home as if it was my own. I love being outdoors and active. Gardening is one of my passions, so if you have a garden that you need nurtured and not just kept, I would be glad to help out. I have my own trailer so I'm quite willing and able to lay some mulch or do a tip run if the garden needs it. If you think I may fit the bill, please, get in touch with me and we can meet to discuss your needs. Long term house sitting eg 6 - 12 months would be quite suitable for me as I must move out of my house by December 21st 2015.

I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy.
My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything.
I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.
Hope we can assist each other .

Introduction

We are a mature and friendly retired couple, professional, practical and resilient in new situations, and look forward to new homes and pets to care for. We are non smokers, tidy, active, gardeners, and keen to explore new communities. We have already enjoyed 5 house and pet sits both in Australia and overseas with another organisation in the last year, with excellent references. We appreciate Happy House Sitters because it it has such a range of Australia wide clients, and is easy to access.
We would take care of your home and pets, as we would our own, and keep them safe and happy until you return.

Why we want to house sit

House and pet sitting is appealing because of the built in adventure and novelty of such diverse opportunities. We have enjoyed much travel in Australia and overseas, ship, caravan, camping, coast, desert and bush, but would look forward to the interest of connecting with the everyday life in new communities. Many sits give insight to the places less travelled, rather than big tourism locations, and Mike is a keen historian where ever we are.
0ur creatures are an essential part of life, but the extra additions to the 'family', "step grand-dogs,cats..and one day hopefully, alpacas!!'', will have all the love and care we can give in the allocated time!

What we bring to the assignment / relevant experience

We have lived in city and country, in town houses and on acreages, and had donkeys, dogs, cats, chooks, and sheep! Our experience in education, country and city communities, gardening, house repairs, and dealing with the emergencies of life, makes us useful Sitters! Having a good sense of humor helps too.We have police checks, and house sitting references.
We currently have an old beagle/terrier x, Maggie May, a dear rescue dog, who, as we speak, is snuffling her way through seaweed and beach sand! We love our entertaining chooks, and their produce! Harry the Cat sadly left us after 12 years of slothful existence!
Do contact us if your place and pets seem like a good match!

I currently live and work in Melbourne, living in a share household. I house sit as I also enjoy having time to myself. I also love caring for pets. Over the past years I have sat on many occasions with many homeowners asking me back to sit for them.

I will take really good care of your pets. I genuinely enjoy both cats and dogs. I Like taking dogs for walks and offering lots of affection. Same for cats too...except the walking.

Will also take good care of your property and leave it in an excellent condition.

I have excellent references. A police check. I don't smoke.
I am a friendly respectful guy who is very clean and tidy
Cheers, Patrick

Hello,

We are two retired professional people, (non smokers) who although living in our separate houses, are best friends and have been in a romantic relationship for sometime now.

As a Social worker for 12 years and a lawyer for 25 years & a Local Govt Elected member for 8 years, I have held very responsible positions and have a good dose of "common sense" Rob has had extensive experience in building highways, managing staff, planning small and big projects and also owned his own strata title management business for 10 years. In that capacity he had to ensure that apartments in his care were well maintained and cared for.
,
We have a wonderful life here in Adelaide, with Rotary connections, voluntary work, bridge playing with friends, walking along lovely bush lanes, sharing dinners with pals and lots of other leisure activities. But we really enjoy and love to travel together, both within Australia or overseas. We both have cars & I have a Toyota Hiace 4 wheel drive Campervan, which we use in nice weather.
Some of the photos attached to this application reflect the kinds of holidays we have enjoyed, trips around the outback, India, and fancy retreats for special occasions.

I own my courtyard home with beautiful back and front gardens, which is well suited to lock up and leave, great for traveling. And I have a small dog and always loved dogs, cats and all other animals. I am also a volunteer with RSPCA & help with caring for animals there. Rob has a large modern house on his 2 acre property in the foothills and is an expert gardener and talented handyman (given his engineering background).

We would love to come up north in the southern winter, in the van (Blossom 2nd ) meet up with friends up there and hopefully, house sit for folk who need that service. This would include minding pets (who I am excited to meet!), keep the garden nice, pick up the mail, and obviously take good care of someone else's home. June July and August or September would be great months for us participate in these house sitting opportunities.

We would love to have the opportunity to look after a house in a variety of situations, be it, bush, city, suburbs, large or modest size. We are happy to have a stint that lasts any period from between 10 days and 3 weeks, initially but eventually hope to lengthen the sits. As you can gather we have not done this very often but have had one short sit and the house owner has provided us with a very positive reference. However, I have also leased villas in Italy and France for weeks at a time and so am familiar with what is involved. Rob has had similar experiences over his life and is exceptionally sensible.
I am not sure what else I can tell you about us, but of course we would be happy to talk if that would be of use in you being assured of our suitability.

Jill

  • Sydney, South Coast, Brisbane, Northern QLD, Adelaide, TAS, Melbourne, Perth

Hello, my name is Jill.
I have lived in North Queensland for over 30 years. I am a non-smoker and drinker, healthy and happy.
I was raised on a sheep and wheat farm in central NSW where I had many cats, chickens, pet lambs, calves, a horse, dogs and a rabbit.
This would be the first time in my life I am without a pet by my side.
My aim is to travel and experience new places and adventures, which I am able to do so in this current stage of my life.

Caring for your home:
I have looked after homes for various lengths of time over the years through recommendations of friends, family and work colleagues.
One home in particular was a show piece – had been featured in the local paper. The cleaner that came every Thursday commented to the owner how I had it so tidy and clean when she arrived. I was recommended to their friends that lived next door, which also included looking after their pets, gardens and pool.
My own home is kept clean and tidy and I am also a keen gardener and grow herbs and vegetables in my garden.

I am able to provide a police check, blue card for working with children and references on request.

Hi there, I'm a semi retired 50 something male (non smoker) who looks after people's pets and homes. I have had many happy clients, including lots of dogs and cats and horses and cows (see pics); I'm sure their owners are happy too.

I have many references from pet owners who you can speak to; including police personnel, doctors and business owners, so you can check my bona fides.

I have much rural experience and I'm rather handy with tractors, diggers, ride on lawn mowers, chainsaws and the like. Homes in my care have varied from farms to cute cottages to executive palaces and high security homes.

My preferences are northern rivers of NSW / sthn Queensland and the greater Sydney area, and now, Melbourne. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks :)

Available mid November to 24 December and from 14 Feb 2018.

Hi,

I love animals, am considerate, quiet and very reliable. Love to roam and take pictures and feel at home in both urban and country environments.

I have been running Airbnb properties for the past seven years, mostly as a 'superhost' so am clean and responsible around the house, and enjoy meeting new people from everywhere.

House sitting is new to me but care of animals and gardens is not. I have experience with most animals including dogs, cats, horses and wilderness wildlife.

I am hoping to find a long term house sit, but will consider short sits if I am in the area.

Hi pet lovers and lovely home owners,
We are trustworthy, reliable, caring, friendly & house-proud housesitters.
We will treat your beloved pets & home like they are our own. We are quiet and like to hang out with the animals and rest ...
We are non-smokers and only sit non-smoking homes for health reasons. We prefer secure homes as we need to feel safe and keep your beloved pets safe.
We adore animals & will treat them kindly & with respect. If they have special needs we understand that and can discuss your needs.
We have extensive experience caring for cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, chickens, chicks, some farm animals, birds, fish & gardens. We are happy to consider reptiles (secured where necessary obviously! :-) ) and all other cuddly/crazy critters.
Unfortunately, we can't care for cats anymore (unless they are hairless) as Melissa developed an allergy to cat hair ! :-(
Melissa has a current working with vulnerable people check (full background & police check). Andrew has a current police check & security clearance through his work in the government. We have previous police checks, through Govt careers & neighbourhood watch (Previous NHW Area Coordinators).
Melissa has RSPCA experience where she investigated animal cruelty and helped protect animals in danger. We take the care of animals very seriously, we know how much they are loved and need to be looked after.
Housesitting written reference available and multiple housesitting referees happy to speak with you :-).
**PLEASE READ BELOW RE FAMILY HOUSE-SITS IF YOU PREFER NO CHILDREN**
**Although our children are respectful, love animals and have done many successful house-sits with us, we understand that some people prefer no children. One of us adults are able to do occasional house-sits without the kids, so are available for house-sits which request no children.**
We hope to hear from you.
Warm regards,
Melissa & Andrew

We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple.

We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.

Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia.
We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years!
We have, of course got references and a police check.

Currently we are available for the following period:

Mid-Dec 2017 to mid-Jan 2018 (4/5 weeks) when we will be extending an already planned Oct/Nov visit to our daughter who lives in Sydney. The tickets are booked and paid!

Lucy and Murray house-sat our 2 very precious schnoodles for 4 nights recently (July 2015). I couldn’t have asked for better sitters! They visited beforehand to meet our dogs and I immediately felt very comfortable that Lucy and Murray would take great care of our dogs. They were very dedicated to looking after the dogs and respectful of our apartment, leaving it spic and span. Our dogs were very happy in their company as Lucy and Murray happily followed the daily routine we requested, including letting them sleep in their bed with them. I will definitely ask them to sit for us again.

In March 2015 we embarked on a 5 week trip and was looking for someone to housesit and care for our dog and rabbit. Fortunately Lucy & Murray were able to help us out.
Lucy and Murray kept in contact throughout our trip with updates on our elderly dog Hank who required some additional care with medicine. We were very happy to also receive
photos of Murray and Hank together!
The house was left immaculately with not a thing out of place. In fact the only evidence that we found of their stay was some food in the cupboards — they even left the wheelie bin
empty!
Lucy and Murray were fantastic housesitters and we would be more than happy to recommend them to anyone.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

Lucy & Murray of Avalon Sydney NSW were house sitters at my home x 6 weeks September & early October 2015.

I have 4 dogs and it seems, during my absence, they loved them to death ! the dogs totally fell in love with Murray and Murray with the dogs. Although the criteria was to walk the dogs once a day, my neighbours tell me they often saw my sitters walking the dogs twice a day.

On my return, the house was kept in fine order, very tidy and clean and the garden was taken care of also.

I would welcome Lucy and Murray a return house sit here if they were available and would recommend them as reliable dog lovers.

If further information is required please do not hesitate to ask for phone contact number.

We are a professional couple located in Canberra and have previously completed a local house sit in between the sale of our house and the purchase of our new one. We have a seventeen year old daughter who loves school and enjoys part-time work. She is a mature young lady who loves animals of all shapes and sizes. We enjoy meeting and looking after new furry friends during house sits and our daughter currently does this in our home for Don't Fret Pet.

We are clean and tidy non-smokers who respect other peoples property and privacy. Whilst we don't have Happy Housesitters references we are happy to forward both of our work histories which include over two decades service in the AFP and an executive HR management role with a not-for-profit.

Our house sitting interest at the moment is for holiday breaks (either in or out of school holidays) as a family, or sometimes individually as I (Tony) don't work full time. Occasionally I am happy to get away for a break by myself. My wife encourages it;-)

If you are after a small family who will take care of your pets and home as if they were their own then we would love to help.

Hello Home Owners

As a writer of children's books and songs I am free to go anywhere and make my home anywhere, as long as I have my computer and good internet access (I have my own wireless internet)
Writing, editing and research keeps me at home most days, so your pets will have plenty of company to keep them from fretting over your absence. I am an avid 'dog whisperer' fan and find those methods of interacting with dogs successful with dogs I know well, and also with dogs I have just met.

HOUSE SITTING EXPERIENCE
Since 2013 I have completed 20+ housesits all without a problem and am often asked to do repeat house sits. I have no complaints and have never received a complaint. I have many references which home owners were happy to provide.
I house sit up and down the NSW & Queensland coastline from Hervey Bay to Newcastle & Gosford. I plan to spend more time in Newcastle/Sydney from October 2016. I am planning a long term car trip to Airlie Beach/Cairns beginning June 2017 and am endeavouring to secure house sits along the way,
ABOUT MY LIFE & FAMILY
I am an ex-infants teacher and have worked as a carer to the disabled (certificate 111 )
I have a daughter and a granddaughter in Newcastle. They have a beautifully trained and extra loving male staffy, Nungo. I house and dog sit for my family several times a year when they go skiing or visit their favourite destination, Hamilton Island. Nungo keeps me company and we have a lovely time together.
I currently share a beautiful house in Murwillumbah, NSW with my sister and her staffy Uschi who is 8 months old. She arrived here at 7 weeks of age and is a delight to have in my life.

WHAT I OFFER?
I have been a loving caring friend to my own dogs and cats. I have lived with animals in my own homes long term, and have looked after the pets of my friends and relatives.
DOGS & I
In the last few years I have learned much about dog psychology, and find this knowledge useful when approaching and looking after other people's pets.
I had experienced house sitting and dog sitting for friends, so I thought I would put my experiences to good use and start house sitting professionally.
CATS & I
As a child we always had a cat. Always a female & therefore I have experienced the birth (and care) of many kittens.
As an adult I had two cats on separate occasions, Victoria and Adelaide. Victoria was baited and that was a horrific experience. The only thing that settled me was to go to the shelter to get another kitten. Adelaide approached us with her big meow.... no decision necessary. She lived a happy long life.

TRUST AND COMMITMENT
I have looked after many children, dogs, cats and the elderly in my career as a teacher, as a nanny, as personal carer and also as mother and grandmother. I have a great respect for life and all creatures and view life as a precious gift.
I understand the services I need to provide as a house sitter, and these fit easily into the way I live my daily life.
I have owned my own home and rented many others and have always left these homes as I found them or better.
My main goals in life are: to do no harm, add joy where possible and to enjoy myself through trying new ways of living.
That is why I feel house sitting is a great experience! Great for the home owner, who will receive peace of mind and excellent care for their home and pet/s. And great for my writing, providing new opportunities for me to meet more people and investigate 'the other side of the fence'.
Looking forward to meeting you, being of service and building a relationship of mutual trust.
Krystyna
Ps… please read my references, but contact details for references will be given only after we are close to agreeing on the house sit. I respect the privacy of all parties involved.

We love nothing better than cuddling fur babies on the couch! We are great with gardening. We both work from home as a social media consultants. References available. We would love to meet you and your babies! Contact us anytime to discuss your needs.

We are a fully retired mature couple who live in the Warrnambool area. We have decided to see this fabulous country of ours by helping others care for their homes and pets while they holiday elsewhere. We are very house/garden- proud. Our garden is as immaculate as the interior. We would treat your house as our own and leave it as we found it.

We are non- smokers.

We have no pets of our own but love animals. Myles is a retired farmer, cleaner and transport company owner and I have grown up with cats, dogs, fish, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, stick insects, etc. Therefore, we would treat you precious pets with love, understanding and kindness.

I have recently retired after teaching in the classroom for 40 years and from owning a tutoring business for 6 years. Up until now,we have been restricted to house-sitting during school holidays.

We both have Police Checks and Working With Children Checks.

We have completed 29 house-sits so far, so have happy owners who would be happy to vouch for us. We also have 2 other referees who are willing to chat to you regarding our honesty and integrity.

We are presently booked in NSW until mid-January 2018 when we return to Vic for further sots..

We contact owners on a daily basis by email, WhatsAp or Skype to put their minds at rest about the security and happiness of their pets.

We would be honoured if you would consider us in looking after your home and treasured pets.

Thanking you.

Liz and Myles

I am a single, mature aged, non-smoking gentleman with experience in house and pet sitting.

As a recently retired school teacher, I am looking for an opportunity to extend myself and broaden my travelling experience by living in an area for longer than a fleeting visit as is usually the case when taking a holiday from work.
I enjoy gardening, reading, cooking, walking, and recently, craft creations.

Whilst not having my own pets these days, I have had the rather usual menagerie of a cat, dogs, fish, guinea pigs, white mice and chooks.

I have a reference and photos which are attached.
I look forward to be of assistance.

Regards

Richard

Hi my name is Carolyn and we have over three years of full- time house sitting experience. We are looking for long term house sitting jobs, preferably around Brisbane. I have owned homes for 30 years and understand how home owners expect their home to be looked after, pools included. Derek and I have lived with pets for 30 years, goats, chooks, dogs, horses etc. We have lived in inner city, on large farms, small acreage and overseas. We currently have home based businesses and work mostly from home. We have also been involved in a gardening and maintenance business, so feel very comfortable with looking after gardens and odd jobs around your property. I can supply references from previous house sitting assignments and personal references. We are pleased to attend an interview/ meeting process for new assignments.

I'm a mature aged, non-smoking female who has chosen to housesit as an alternative to renting. I've been housesitting since September 2011 and I really enjoy the lifestyle. House-sitting is a great way to save money until I can afford a place of my own, plus I enjoy experiencing different places. I love animals (was raised on a dairy farm), and am experienced in dealing with all their cute little quirks (and messes!) and providing a load of pats and affection if required. However, having a pet is not a requirement for me to house-sit.
I keep the homes I house-sit for in good condition and am very respectful of the homes I care for.. Owners have been very happy with the condition I leave their homes, gardens and pets in and I've had many return house-sits and referrals as a result. Any tasks that need to be done in your absence - like mail collection and putting out the bins - are part and parcel of the house-sitting lifestyle and I'm happy to do them for you.
I work at home part time for a super company and I also do some writing so I spend much of my time working on my computer. The good news for you is I'll be around to keep your pets company and hold down the forte, so your pets will be well looked after and your home will be well attended. I enjoy my own company and peace and quite around the house. When I'm at home it's just me, so you can rest assured that there won't be a continual procession of visitors stampeding through your home. Of course, I can go on about how responsible, reliable and trustworthy I am....but why not get in contact with me so you can decide for yourself. I have great referrences and a police check...what more can you ask for in a sitter?
