My partner Steven and I live in Elwood. We would love to have a pet but with a small rental, it's not an option for us at the moment. For this reason we would love the opportunity to care for other peoples animals in their home and also have the opportunity to have a little break in a slightly larger place than the one we currently call home. We both love dogs and have had experience with large and small breeds throughout our lives. I had a Dalmatian for 14 years and Steven had a ridgeback for many years. I've also had experience caring for my friends two King Charles Cavaliers whilst he was working in a fly in fly out role for 12 months and I have also spent a considerable period of time caring for, walking and training my Aunt's Weimeraner. I have looked after countless dogs over the years, mostly because I just love having them around... I have included a few pictures.I work for The Royal College of Australian and New Zealand Psychiatrists in an administrative role in the city and Steven Works as a golf professional across Edithvale and Southern (Keysborough) golf courses. I work in a 9.00 to 5.00 role but Steven's role is more varied, allowing for more time with any pooches if they get anxious being at home alone in the day time. We are both active people and would enjoy the opportunity to walk your dog, in addition to just having their personalities around and get some canine cuddles if they like them! We both like to have a clean and tidy house so would ensure your place is kept at a high standard. We also love to garden (something currently missing from our small flat). So if your garden or plants require some TLC too, we would be more than happy to oblige. If you would like any references, please let us knowIf there is anything else you would like to know, please don't hesitate to ask. :)Also, we are having trouble uploading photos but will keep trying and can send on request in the mean time.

My name is Rose and I am a mature age PhD student. I am currently living between Sydney, Lismore and the Gold Coast while I complete a professional Doctorate researching early colonial history (Sydney and Parramatta). My husband and dog live on a sheep farm in central NSW and our children are married with lives of their own. Between us we have 5 granddaughters who we adore. The reason I do house-sitting is because I love animals and miss my own. I get much pleasure caring for the beautiful pets during my time in their life and it is lovely to receive unconditional love while I am doing my research. I enjoy the new experiences house-sitting gives me, and have been inspired by some of the lovely environments I have stayed in. One of the benefits is making lots of new friends and becoming a regular carer for those who love travelling. About me, I have always been a home owner, do not smoke and am extremely clean and tidy. I am very security conscious, not into parties and take very good care of the houses/apartments while I am in them. I have references and a Police clearance for your consideration. I am happy to chat with you and also meet in person to say hi to your pet/s and allow you the opportunity to discuss your needs and requirements. Thanks kindly Rose

I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything. I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.Hope we can assist each other .
IntroductionWe are a mature and friendly retired couple, professional, practical and resilient in new situations, and look forward to new homes and pets to care for. We are non smokers, tidy, active, gardeners, and keen to explore new communities. We have already enjoyed 5 house and pet sits both in Australia and overseas with another organisation in the last year, with excellent references. We appreciate Happy House Sitters because it it has such a range of Australia wide clients, and is easy to access. We would take care of your home and pets, as we would our own, and keep them safe and happy until you return. Why we want to house sitHouse and pet sitting is appealing because of the built in adventure and novelty of such diverse opportunities. We have enjoyed much travel in Australia and overseas, ship, caravan, camping, coast, desert and bush, but would look forward to the interest of connecting with the everyday life in new communities. Many sits give insight to the places less travelled, rather than big tourism locations, and Mike is a keen historian where ever we are.0ur creatures are an essential part of life, but the extra additions to the 'family', "step grand-dogs,cats..and one day hopefully, alpacas!!'', will have all the love and care we can give in the allocated time! What we bring to the assignment / relevant experienceWe have lived in city and country, in town houses and on acreages, and had donkeys, dogs, cats, chooks, and sheep! Our experience in education, country and city communities, gardening, house repairs, and dealing with the emergencies of life, makes us useful Sitters! Having a good sense of humor helps too.We have police checks, and house sitting references. We currently have an old beagle/terrier x, Maggie May, a dear rescue dog, who, as we speak, is snuffling her way through seaweed and beach sand! We love our entertaining chooks, and their produce! Harry the Cat sadly left us after 12 years of slothful existence! Do contact us if your place and pets seem like a good match!
I currently live and work in Melbourne, living in a share household. I house sit as I also enjoy having time to myself. I also love caring for pets. I Like taking dogs for walks and offering lots of affection. Same for cats too...except the walking. Will also take good care of your property and leave it in an excellent condition. I have excellent references. A police check. I don't smoke. I am a friendly respectful guy who is very clean and tidyCheers, Patrick
Hi there, I'm a semi retired 50 something male (non smoker) who looks after people's pets and homes. I have had many happy clients, including lots of dogs and cats and horses and cows (see pics); I'm sure their owners are happy too. I have many references from pet owners who you can speak to; including police personnel, doctors and business owners, so you can check my bona fides.I have much rural experience and I'm rather handy with tractors, diggers, ride on lawn mowers, chainsaws and the like. Homes in my care have varied from farms to cute cottages to executive palaces and high security homes. My preferences are northern rivers of NSW / sthn Queensland and the greater Sydney area, and now, Melbourne. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks :) Available mid November to 24 December and from 14 Feb 2018.
Hi,I love animals, am considerate, quiet and very reliable. Love to roam and take pictures and feel at home in both urban and country environments. I have been running Airbnb properties for the past seven years, mostly as a 'superhost' so am clean and responsible around the house, and enjoy meeting new people from everywhere.House sitting is new to me but care of animals and gardens is not. I have experience with most animals including dogs, cats, horses and wilderness wildlife. I am hoping to find a long term house sit, but will consider short sits if I am in the area. Tess

Whilst not having my own pets these days, I have had the rather usual menagerie of a cat, dogs, fish, guinea pigs, white mice and chooks.I have a reference and photos which are attached.I look forward to be of assistance.RegardsRichard

I'm an experienced house sitter and have been house sitting full time now for over 18 months and prior to that at various short term house sits for a couple of years. I have experience with many dogs, small and large and up to 3 at a time, cats, chickens and birds. I enjoy walking the dogs and happy to walk them every day, if required, have also been known to have to walk a cat as well! I have also house sat where I have had to look after a pool and spa and watering of gardens. I also consider myself to be a clean freak and will return your home in the same condition that it was when you left and will look after it as though it was my own. In recent years I have been lucky to do an apartment sit in Hiroshima Japan, and a couple of house sits in NZ. I am a non-smoker and am single and have no pets. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.I have now just completed 6 months of house/dog sitting in Perth Western Australia and Darwin for 2 months and enjoyed every minute of it. I am now heading back south to the Sunshine Coast to where I usually live until the New Year. If you are looking for a house sitter while you have a break over Christmas/new year or school holidays I would love to look after your house and/or pets as though they were my own.
I am a happy, friendly, 60 year old semi-retired house-sitter who is a fit, non-smoking, mature female; honest, reliable, house and garden proud. I grew up on a farm thus have familiarity, experience, patience and love for animals and pets, having grown up caring for many various pets of my own.I have a passion for gardening and landscaping; I have the time to care for, walk and empathize with your pet/s missing their owner/s while keeping your home safe and as you left it. I have always owned my own homes and worked in responsible professional positions; married for 37 years to an electrician who works away six months of the year, with adult independent children living interstate pursuing professional careers.I will respect your home, garden and beloved pets with the care I show my own. I can supply a Police Check, Working with Children Check (pets are our children!), House Owners and character references when required.I am willing to listen carefully to your instructions, preferences & requirements. Hi, my name is Jayne. I am 62 and a non smoker. I am conscientious, clean and adore dogs, like cats. I would take the kind of loving care with your home and pets you would take. I walk once or twice a day so dog walking is fun for me and i just love their company. I like watering and gardening and i even love mowing but must admit i can't always get mowers started! I started housesitting in WA about 10 years ago in Perth and Dunsborough for 4 years and have housesat in Queensland, port macquarie and the northern rivers. People have always been happy with the health and happiness of their pets and their house when they have returned home. I have been offered repeat housesits. I have great references. Unfortunately the Happy House Sitters site has dropped my references and when i try to re-upload it doesn't work and HHS haven't been able to assist. i am very sorry for this but i can easily email you my wonderful references. I owned my own business in Sydney for 12 years so you can see i am responsible and reliable. I am semi retired and work mostly from my laptop so can work anywhere. I sold my home in New South Wales in 2008 while i was enjoying housesitting in the Margaret River region of WA. I have come back east because my mother is elderly now. I have had the joy of owning 3 Scottish Terriers: Mac, Skye and Kiltie. I would like to housesit anywhere from Port Macquarie up through the Northern Rivers and Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Please contact me on 0450 552074 if i can help. Kindest regards, Jayne
Hi I am Hayley! I have just returned home to Melbourne after living in the UK for 3 years where I as house/cat/dog sitting for the last 4/5 months there. I am also very familiar with sitting as I regularly did from 17 years for family, friends and friends of friends. I come from a family who love animals, we have always had beloved pets growing up and Mum used to volunteer at the blue cross and bring home kittens and dogs in need of homes temporarily until a loving family was found for them. I am reliable, very communicative, clean, tidy and love cuddles with cats and long walks with dogs. I have reviews on my trustedhousesitters account (I am very new to this site) and usually my sits come through recommendation or the other site. I can offer references or more than happy to meet you, your pets and house before any decision is made. I am hoping to housesit for a few months whilst I settle back in to Melbourne and decide which area I would like to move to, my Mum is out in Wonga Park so a little isolated for now and enjoy my own space. I am a trained dance and yoga teacher. I had my own business/studio Bath (UK) and will be free-lancing whilst in Melbourne so I work sporadically which gives me the flexibility and time for pets! Please feel free to ask me any further questions, or don't hesitate to contact via email or phone.
Hi there! My name is Nikki, I'm a 28 year old female from Scotland and I am studying my Masters in Landscape Architecture. I came to Melbourne in July 2017 to study and I will be staying in Australia until my final year of uni starts in Scotland in September 2018. My next semester starts in January but it is distance learning, so I will just be studying from home and don't have to attend uni which is why I thought about house-sitting. I've been renting an apartment in the CBD since I arrived but since I spend most of my time studying in the house anyway it would be nice to have a furry friend to keep me company and I would also get to see other parts of Melbourne. Unfortunately at this point in my life I can't have a pet of my own because of university and travelling but I love all kinds of animals and I'm especially experienced in taking care of dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, fish and bearded dragons. The beautiful miniature pinscher you see in my pictures is called Benji, my friend saved him from a breeder who obviously didn't care about the wellbeing of her puppies and as a result he developed some behavioural problems and was aggressive and possessive. I offered to foster him for her until he was ready to be around other dogs and as you can see with a little training and a lot of love he turned into the perfect little gentleman and can't get enough of cuddling on the couch.I worked as an in-home carer for disabled adults whilst at home in Britain, therefor I have been extensively police checked and received specialist training and have certificates that confirm I am legally entrusted with the care of the most vulnerable people in society. I conducted personal care for severely disabled individuals and took them out for activities and assisted with general day to day living like shopping, preparing food, doing chores and I also maintained their homes for them so I am experienced with house cleaning. If you are interested in my references I will provide you with contact details for my previous employer who can verify my police check, that I worked there for over a year (the only reason I reluctantly left the job was because I was coming here to study) and that I am trustworthy and have the experience necessary to care for your house and pets. You also know that I couldn't have a criminal record or I would not have been granted a Visa or entry into Australia and I will provide you with photocopies of my drivers licence (full, manual and clean) and passport so you have my personal details.I'm more than happy to send you daily pictures or video calls so you can see that your pet is being treated with the love and attention they deserve. I don't drink or smoke, I am a clean and quiet lodger and will provide a reference from my current landlord (who lives in the property with me) to confirm this. I am happy to meet you prior to making any house sitting plans so you can decide if I'm a good fit. I am a warm, compassionate person just looking fsor a furry companion to keep me company during my studies, I'm looking for longer house sits preferably around a month so I can see different parts of Australia but not have to move around too often. I'm happy to sign a contract with agreed terms and will even provide you with a bond to ensure your peace of mind.I look forward to hearing from you!Nikki
Hello. We are a recently retired teaching couple who are active, love animals and nature, and are interested in looking after your home and animals for you while you are away. We have our own home in the Hunter Valley, NSW, where we live with our 3 teenage children who are completing their uni degrees and working. The kids are now old enough to look after themselves and our little dog,and we are looking forward to heading out and seeing Australia. We are non-smokers; love to walk and exercise;are clean and tidy;enjoy tending to gardens and have prior experience with a wide variety of pets. We have house sat in the past, and can provide references if required.
We are a retired couple in our early 60's on an adventure trip around Australia in our 4WD and camper trailer. We would like to stop over in homes along the way to expand our experiences in different areas. We are experienced Housesitters. We have recently successfully completed three housesits in Victoria, one in Sydney and two in our home area of the Sunshine Coast. Please check our references. We own our own home which we love and maintain meticulously, ask any of our friends and neighbours! We love animals having owned our own pets in the past. We also enjoy gardening, and have a good knowledge of pool care and maintenance, owning one ourselves. We are strict non smokers, lead a healthy lifestyle and are honest genuine people. We are currently back on the Sunshine Coast and available here until the end of November.
Have been travelling and house sitting for friends and mostly through "bush telegraph". We prefer to stay in our van and use toilet/shower in house... if available. We have farm sat at Oura, via Wagga for the last 3 years , Longest period 4 months'. Have assisted with cherry orchard. . picking, packing, sales etc. Gardening. pruning, general maintenance, lawn mowing. Monitoring small flock sheep, llamas, and caring for the girls, two kelpie dogs!!! We have also cared for house/farm property at Culcairn. As we have to travel back to Wagga on a regular basis to assist and care for elderly relative we can no longer travel to far away. Our family live on South Coast NSW and Bairnsdale Vic and our plan is to eventually settle in the Bairnsdale area so would be very interested in finding house sits there. We are both non smokers, hubby enjoys the occasional beer, plays social bowls, loves yarn especially with retired truck drivers.. working with machinery. We both love animals and enjoy caring for them, we have had our own fur pets, but when our little dog had to be put to sleep we decided .. no more until we settled down.. I enjoy gardening, movies, reading and have done volunteer work ( not so much, since we been travelling) scrapbooking, card making. walking. We are both very tidy and particular how we care for our own and other peoples possessions. We are happy to try most chores on farm and Ron usually is the worker, I do what I can to support him. He also likes fishing and we enjoy visiting new places, meeting the locals and the occasional visit to local club. Have written references.
We are a couple in our early 60’s – recently retired who enthusiastically enjoy house sitting because it allows us to provide a valuable personalized service to home owners. Nothing gives us more pleasure than making home owners feel comfortable with being away from home, knowing their house is in good hands until the owner's return. We're very grateful to all our wonderful clients for the opportunities they have granted us through inviting us into their homes and lives. We receive trust, and in exchange, we provide loving care. We are non-smokers who are honest, reliable and dependable house sitters who will respect your property and personal things. Our background was in education. We have owned a home and are fully conscious of the care and security needed in keeping a house (including a pool) maintained. Also we have had pets that lived very long comfortable lives because we treated them as part of our family. We will care for your pets as if they were part of our own family. We have had experience in house/pet sitting before and we have references available on request.
I am in a transition stage this year, having put my home in storage at New Year and I'm undertaking full time house sitting while I live in different suburbs and the surrounding areas of Sydney. Eventually I aim to buy an apartment and will either rent it out or live in it. In the last twelve months I sold a business after building it up over twenty years and moved out of a townhouse where I had lived for twelve years. I am undertaking a masters degree by research this year and next so I have a lot of time to stay "in" if required which will suit pet owners. I have been enjoying the house sitting community and it suits my current life of studying and doing much less work.I love animals and, apart from the last 5 years, have had pets of all descriptions most of my life. An inner-city person now, I have lived in different places over the years including by the ocean, on a river and on a farm over twenty years ago and raised animals of all kinds from baby lambs and calves to cats, dogs and birds. I pet sit for friends when they are away and the pets always take to me quickly as I do them. I have worked in the arts and business for twenty five years and now run a small home based business as well as my study which does not require attendance at class. I have grown children who are totally independent and I feel this is my time to explore new ideas and live in new areas. House sitting is a great way to live in new areas and transition to a new home eventually for myself. I am very responsible, a garden and pet lover. I do need to stay within commuting distance of Sydney for study and family.
Melbourne and areaHi there,I'm a dual Canadian/Australian (my mother is from Melbourne) in Australia escaping from our Canadian winter (brrr!). From mid December until mid April (or any time in that period) I'd love to find a home in the Melbourne area to house sit.I am very responsible and have looked after many pets and homes in Canada and Australia.I don't smoke, enjoy living in a clean and tidy environment and will take care of your home and pets as if it were my own. I have a lot of experience with animals having grown up on a hobby farm in Canada and having dogs throughout my life. I enjoy the company of animals and enjoy looking after them, walking them, playing with them and grooming them. Anything you need or your animal needs I will make sure they have.I have a lot of home maintenance skills (carpentry, painting, repair etc) so if anything were to come up, I can take care of most things myself, and in fact enjoying doing so. I also have family in Melbourne so have people I can call if need be. My cousin lives in Geelong (he moved there after retiring from his law practice he had while living in Kew) and can act as a reference. He kindly allowed me to stay at his summer house in Anglesea two summers ago. I house sat for a lovely family and looked after their wonderful dog for a month over last year's Christmas holiday. I also house sat in Leopold and looked after a wonderful Golden Retriever there and another beautiful older Golden Retriever in Williamstown. All those three house sits were organized through Happy House Sitters. They can also be references and please see two letters posted here on Happy Housesitters. If you have a house with or without pets that needs caring for, I would love to hear from you! Thanks!Kent

I like winter sitting in northern climes and being home to water my garden in Spring/Summer if possible(so I take only short local-ish sits during this time). I will consider sits in Perth for two/four weeks over Christmas which would allow me to see family and spend some of Xmas day with them.I hope to sit Winter in 2018 in Northern climes so if you have need of a reliable, clean non smoking sitter for your home or pets let me know.Happy to chat by phone or Facetime.I am new to this site but have been sitting privately and with Mindahome and have reviews available as an attachment here. As a Teacher I have had a Victorian Police Clearance and Working with Children Check for work- now expired due to retirement). I now have a Federal Police Check Certificate issued by the Australian Federal Police (Australian National Police Check Certificate).I will care for your home and garden as my own, and your pets with loving care and attention.Thank you for your consideration.
