IntroductionWe are a mature and friendly retired couple, professional, practical and resilient in new situations, and look forward to new homes and pets to care for. We are non smokers, tidy, active, gardeners, and keen to explore new communities. We have already enjoyed 5 house and pet sits both in Australia and overseas with another organisation in the last year, with excellent references. We appreciate Happy House Sitters because it it has such a range of Australia wide clients, and is easy to access. We would take care of your home and pets, as we would our own, and keep them safe and happy until you return. Why we want to house sitHouse and pet sitting is appealing because of the built in adventure and novelty of such diverse opportunities. We have enjoyed much travel in Australia and overseas, ship, caravan, camping, coast, desert and bush, but would look forward to the interest of connecting with the everyday life in new communities. Many sits give insight to the places less travelled, rather than big tourism locations, and Mike is a keen historian where ever we are.0ur creatures are an essential part of life, but the extra additions to the 'family', "step grand-dogs,cats..and one day hopefully, alpacas!!'', will have all the love and care we can give in the allocated time! What we bring to the assignment / relevant experienceWe have lived in city and country, in town houses and on acreages, and had donkeys, dogs, cats, chooks, and sheep! Our experience in education, country and city communities, gardening, house repairs, and dealing with the emergencies of life, makes us useful Sitters! Having a good sense of humor helps too.We have police checks, and house sitting references. We currently have an old beagle/terrier x, Maggie May, a dear rescue dog, who, as we speak, is snuffling her way through seaweed and beach sand! We love our entertaining chooks, and their produce! Harry the Cat sadly left us after 12 years of slothful existence! Do contact us if your place and pets seem like a good match!

I grew up on a farm thus have familiarity, experience, patience and love for animals and pets, having grown up caring for many various pets of my own.I have a passion for gardening and landscaping; I have the time to care for, walk and empathize with your pet/s missing their owner/s while keeping your home safe and as you left it. I have always owned my own homes and worked in responsible professional positions; married for 39 years to an electrician who works away six months of the year, with adult independent children living interstate pursuing professional careers.I will respect your home, garden and beloved pets with the care I show my own. I can supply a Police Check, Working with Children Check (pets are our children!), House Owners and character references when required.I am willing to listen carefully to your instructions, preferences & requirements. I am moving to take up a new full-time position with Elders in Tassie.I have previously house sat and can provide a reference if needed.I am a tidy person and can look after the garden. My interests are tennis, golf and reading and this house in Mt Stuart would provide the perfect opportunity to tide me over while I look for a permanent residence.I have friends I can stay with until its available.
My name is Rose and I am a mature age PhD student. I am currently living between Sydney, Lismore and the Gold Coast while I complete a professional Doctorate researching early colonial history (Sydney and Parramatta). My husband and dog live on a sheep farm in central NSW and our children are married with lives of their own. Between us we have 5 granddaughters who we adore. The reason I do house-sitting is because I love animals and miss my own. I get much pleasure caring for the beautiful pets during my time in their life and it is lovely to receive unconditional love while I am doing my research. I enjoy the new experiences house-sitting gives me, and have been inspired by some of the lovely environments I have stayed in. One of the benefits is making lots of new friends and becoming a regular carer for those who love travelling. About me, I have always been a home owner, do not smoke and am extremely clean and tidy. I am very security conscious, not into parties and take very good care of the houses/apartments while I am in them. I have references and a Police clearance for your consideration. I am happy to chat with you and also meet in person to say hi to your pet/s and allow you the opportunity to discuss your needs and requirements. Thanks kindly Rose

Hi there :)We are mature aged professionals with experience in pet & house minding. We (Steve more particularly) has a variety of experiences in-house & pet sitting that dates back more than 30 years, but more relevant to now & with references attached from more recent times. We think you'll find our credentials are more than a worthy consideration, and in good alignment with your needs. :)We've had many house sitters stay in the family home over many years looking after the security of our home, caring for the garden, pool and our Pets (dog, cat & cockatiel) whilst we traveled as a family, so we certainly have empathy in what it feels like to trust someone with the keys to your home & pets.We are active people who love all animals, more particularly dogs & cats; so walking and caring for your dog(s) and sitting with a purring cat is a joy for us. (See testimonials attached)As you will also see from Steve's profile, he is a 'Mindset Mentor' who does quite a bit of his work from home using his wireless internet and mobile phone. Jasmine does most of her work online too (Essential Oils) so between us, you can expect at least one of us to be there a lot of the time during the day as well, to look after your pet(s) & your home. :)Feel free to also check us out / connect with us or follow us on my Social Media Platforms or via Steve's website www.SuccessfulLifeResults.com.au -Steve's profile name on most mediums is simple Steve Lyddy (fb), for twitter SteveLyddy (no space) and Jasmine social media platforms are JaXmine Law & Essential Oils with JazmineBe happy to answer any other questions you may have and think its best that we Tel or Skype before we meet. If we like what we see or hear from that and are pretty certain that we are a match, than perhaps there maybe an opportunity at some stage to arrange to meet face to face for a chat, perhaps over a coffee or tea.Warm regardsSteve & Jazmine

Our 14 year old, blind and very much loved Jack Russell has passed, so we are hitting the road. Not yet 60 years. Semi retired couple from the Northern Beaches Sydney's Narrabeen.Rob: 44 years in building/carpentry/painting. He must be fixing or doing with his hands all the time. Loves a project. Must stop to speak with every dog while on walks. He has a gift, not only with animals, but can just about fix anything. He loves the garden. Our apartment block has benefited from his consistent care.Kathy: I’m the organiser and lover of lists and getting the job done. I've worked in the community both in aged care and disability for many years. With Police checks. We both grew up on Sydney’s Northern beaches. I lived in the USA for many years. We are open minded, flexible, easy going, consistent, clean, caring non smokers. Please view our references attached. I like to cook at home rather than eat out. Your pets would get so much attention, as we enjoy a simple life. Our dog was very much the centre of our life. We have also owned 3 rabbits, 3 chooks over the years. I have fallen in love with many friends cats. You won’t be disappointed if you choose us.
My wife and I own and operate an online business, established almost 4 years ago. The majority of our customers are world wide. As a result, we are permanent travelers, but need to be in Australia to visit with grand kids and assorted family! We are animal lovers, and recently gave away 2 fabulous cats to a good home. (Normally our sons look after the cats, but they all recently left the family home in New Zealand!) We now have good experience in house sitting, we are very responsible people, and would treat your home as we would ours, and the animals and garden would be treated the same. My wife is extremely house proud, and loves to potter about in the garden . She is an extremely organised person and she looks after the house and me very well!Kays Dad was in the 2000 Queens Honors List in New Zealand (R. J. SHARP ONZM, For services to Dairying), because he invented the herringbone milking shed in New Zealand in 1952. Only took 48 years to get recognised. We can provide good personal references. We are non smokers. Broadband or good internet access would be needed.
We are two retired, active, music and food loving schoolteachers with a penchant for travelling and enjoying new experiences. We have been involved in house and pet sitting for many years and in many places throughout Australia and overseas. While we have a home in Adelaide, we enjoy a nomadic lifestyle in our motorhome, which makes it unfair to have pets of our own. Housesitting allows us to indulge our love of animals and over the years we have cared for many dogs, cats, birds, horses, sheep, goats, cattle and the like, with dogs, whether big and boisterous or small and cuddly, being our special love. We are also meticulous in the attention we give to each property, whether it be an apartment, a suburban block or a rural spread. Recent experiences have included a 10 month stint on a Daintree acreage, return visits to a horse property and 3 months caring for two houses in the south of France. As Tony is something of a dab hand at housework and property maintenance and Helen is an expert at quality control, you can rest assured that your property and pets will be cared for as if they are our own. We will happily provide you with contact details for phone referees if required.

I will consider sits in Perth for two/four weeks over Christmas which would allow me to see family and spend some of Xmas day with them.I am new to this site but have been sitting privately and with Mindahome and have reviews available as an attachment here. As a Teacher I have had a Victorian Police Clearance and Working with Children Check for work- now expired due to retirement). I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy. My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. Hi!We're 2 young students who house sit to have independence without having to scrape by with rent whilst studying. We are quiet and sensible students who both adore animals and are quite active. We are happy with both short and long term sits, and ANY kind of animal (seriously- between us we've had dogs, cats, fish, chickens, galahs, ferrets, frogs, guinea pigs, plus Josh has farming family and is experienced with farm animals). Feel free to message through any questions :)
We are a mature age professional non-smoking couple. With occupations in healthcare and sales/management, we have excellent work and life ethics and would guarantee you would be pleased with us caring for your home and pets. We have rented out our house on Sunshine Coast and are now working and travelling our way around Australia in our caravan. We are fastidious with keeping our home/caravan in a high level of cleanliness We are always willing to house sit in rural areas or provincial towns as we would to be able to park our van. We are happy to sit in suburban areas if there is space to safely park our caravan. We are able to house sit for longer periods of time. We would consider it a privilege to look after your house or farm, pets and gardens. References available on request. Over last few years we have house sat across eastern Australia including Bendigo, Caloundra, Alexandra Headlands, Hervey Bay, Burleigh Waters, Mount Cotton and Sheidow Park SA.
We are an older couple. We own our own home and we recently lost our little dog who had been with us for 17.5 years. Our little dog was certainly "part of the family". We love all types of animals. We are retired. Peter is a retired Senior Sergeant with the Victoria Police. He still works in the judicial system as a Justice of the Peace. I have a current Police Check. I was a teacher/school counselor. We have had experience house sitting and we do know how we would like people to respect our property so naturally we would do the same for others. We really love to travel and visit new places. We enjoy walking and reading when we are on holidays.Your house would be left just the way we found it on arrival. We can provide references if required.
About me:I am an experienced house and pet sitter that enjoys taking care of pets and seeing new places. I enjoy the opportunity and friendships that house sitting brings. I don’t have my own pets so I really enjoy spending time with the animals while house sitting. I am a trustworthy, responsible, clean and non-smoking Australian male (37). I have a lot of house and pet sitting experience. I am reliable, practical, and easy to get along with. Your pets and home will be extremely well looked after by a capable person. I am a serious house sitter, one that does what they say they will do. I am currently completing my post graduate studies in Psychology. I have dedicated my career to helping people get through hard times and become the best version of themselves. I am off campus so I study from home and this allows for additional time with the pets and keeping an eye on the house. This is part of why I have decided to do house sitting. The other reason is that I really enjoy it! I enjoy the variety of living in new places and meeting new and interesting people such as you! House sitting provides an enjoyable and adventurous lifestyle for me. I have a current national police security check. In my work I have gained security clearances at the highest level that have allowed me to work at government sites such as ports, airports, government offices and defence sites which you need to have a clean record to obtain. I hope this indicates to you my trustworthiness. I have my own car and am independent in my style of living.Pets I have looked after:I go above and beyond with pet care. I love all types of animals and have looked after almost everything you could find in a backyard. This includes mostly dogs, cats and budgies, but also parrots, stick-insects, lizards, snakes, horses, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, hermit crabs and even a tarantula! I do my best to not disrupt your pet’s routines so I feed them and walk them as close as possible to the same time that you do. I am happy to spend extra time with needy animals that get upset when their owners are away. I always make sure all pets eat enough each day. I also can administer medicines, worming tablets if need be. Any special dietary requirements are catered for and an extra walk or games no problem at all. In the case of an emergency, I will contact you and drive your pet immediately to your preferred vet. I have looked after many rescue cats and understand they can sometimes need extra time and affection. From 2013-2015, I saved, reared and fostered 21 stray kittens at my house. They all were tamed, vaccinated, micro chipped, de-sexed and found happy homes!Types of houses I have looked after:I have experience looking after large multi storey homes with extensive gardens and pools, houses on acreage, normal size family homes and small apartments.Extra things I can do:If you like I am happy to send you email or text updates on the house and pets so that you know everything is ok and see how your furry friends are going. Clean the pool if you have one.Mow the lawn and water the gardens.I will collect the mail every day and If you like I can forward you any important mail via email if you need me too. Put out/bring in the garbage binsStart car if needed to prevent battery going flat (please note I have my own car and would not drive yours).I leave the house fully cleaned before you come back so that you arrive to a fresh tidy home. This includes the pool and gardens. I can also mow the lawn if you need it.I can also pick up some groceries before you come home so you can take it easy when you arrive. Most people like to come home to fresh milk, bread and juice.A quick noteI also prefer that we have a written agreement that outlines my duties with detailed instructions, vet contact, trusted person or family member contact (if you are overseas), authority to be in the house while your away (Id like it if the neighbours don’t think I am squatting in your house!) and any other things that may be needed to be carried out around the house. I am happy to send you some references if you request. If I sound like the type of house or pet sitter that you would like then please contact me.I look forward to hearing from you.Best wishesBrett

We are experienced Aussie housesitters, retired accountant and agricultural scientist, grey nomads, non smokers, and both dog and cat lovers, having owned our own pets all our lives, and looked after numerous and various animals as housesitters for other homeowners, like yourselves. My husband and I were introduced to the concept of housesitting when we retired in July 2005. Since then, we have combined travel with housesitting in Australia, New Zealand, England and Europe and made lifelong friends along the way. So far, we have undertaken 100+ housesits over the past 12 years since retiring from full time employment. For ourselves during the course of our life, we have owned large dogs; boxers and german shepherds – all obedience trained - also cats, fish and poultry. We both retired from our jobs in the Northern Territory and sold our home, with a swimming pool, owned for 20 years. We plan on continuing to travel whilst we are healthy and until we get the travel bug out of our system. Our motto is to treat your home and pets as we would expect our own home and pets to be treated - with respect, love and care.I was born and bred on a farm in South Australia, lived there for 21 years before moving to the Northern Territory, where my working life continued as an accountant. My husband is a Queenslander, and worked as an agricultural scientist in 2 Australian states, during the course of his working career. We can provide written references, photos and police clearances, if you require further info. – but basically, we are just ‘grey nomads’ – enjoying retirement and travelling around England, Europe and Australia whilst we still have our health and are able to travel.
