Mature married couple, home owners in Elwood Vic, non smokers. We love the company of animals and have lived with dogs for over 40 years. Gemalla (Schnauzer) and Katielina (Airedale) are our mature, friendly and very well trained mates and would like to travel/holiday with us although it's not a pre-requisite.We love all animals and believe that we would enjoy looking after your pets and care for them like our own. Being house proud we would look after your home with great care.We enjoy a healthy environment, are keen dog walkers along the beach, parks and bush areas and share an interest in gardening, healthy living, the outdoors and food and wine.
(Sorry but we are fully booked for the rest of 2017) Hi, my husband and I are recently retired teachers 61 and 62 who have lived and worked in the same area for 32 years. Of course as teachers we had regular police checks and we can also provide references. After retirement we went to Canada, Hawaii, Far North Queensland and Tasmania. Yes we have caught the travel bug! We are friendly, reliable and caring and now that our children have grown up and our beloved pets passed away we are rattling around our house with time on our hands. As a retired couple we are available for any length of time and we can plan to house sit everywhere in Australia for the next 12 months to 24 months after which time we hope our children will provide us with grandchildren to spoil. As my husband Ross is a very keen fisherman we try for locations close to good fishing areas. We love animals and we always look after all our friends and neighbours pets, houses, gardens and mail when they are away. One of them suggested pet and house sitting as it involves travelling, animals and gardening! We will take meticulous care of your house, mail, indoor plants, veggie gardens and lovingly look after dogs, cats, birds, fish, chooks, rabbits and guinea pigs. We are more than happy to be in touch with you prior to the pet and house sit and we can also give you updates during your trip so get in touch with us any time to discuss your needs and travel dates as we can accommodate our time to suit your needs. We prefer the northern areas of Australia during the winter months and we are looking forward to a visit to New Zealand in 2018. Ross is a keen fisherman and gardener, I adore reading and writing and tend to be more of a home body and we both really enjoy seeing new sights and meeting new people. You can leave knowing we will take extremely good care of your pets, house and garden and while you’re away. Ross and I are looking forward to getting to know you and giving your pets our love and attention. Prior to handover we would prefer a written list of your requirements and instructions including your mobile number and email address so we can make contact and get to know each other prior to your trip. We know the importance of trust in this relationship and can assure you of our honesty and love of animals, in fact we have found the hardest part of pet sitting is saying goodbye to the pets because we grow so fond of them. Jo and Ross Tanner
David and I have been house sitting for 2 years now and truly love this lifestyle. We have been fortunate enough to be continually on the move over this time and have returned to our first house sit a second time. David and I were original Sydney dwellers for 30 odd years and have always owned our own homes up until 2000. We had a hobby farm in Tasmania for 15 years, with farm animals including sheep, goats, chickens a horse, dogs and cats etc. We are familiar with living with tank water/ water pumps, wood heaters, septic systems and basic requirements for rural living. Leaving Tasmania in 2000 we rented in Sydney for a couple of years then moved to the Central Tablelands, NSW for 11 years where we rented a cabin on a 90 acre goat farm. During that time I did volunteer work on a regular basis for 8 years which involved 6 month periods away from home at a time staying with different families every week, so I am very accustomed to living in other peoples' homes. David worked as a full time carpenter in the local area accompanying me regularly on various trips. After leaving the central tablelands we both volunteered on a 7 acre retreat centre in Victoria for 7 months maintaining the property and looking after 3 acres of garden. We have been on the South Coast, NSW for almost 6 months now. I have a background in admin/bookkeeping and David is a carpenter. We are responsible and mature adults and have experienced many different lifestyles including living in Asia and Tibet. We enjoy the experience of new lifestyles and locations and feel that house sitting would be a great opportunity for us to do what we love and benefit the home owner do what they wish to do. At the moment we are on our 8th house sit and we have been invited back to our first house sit for another 3 months. Ideally we would like long term sits of 3-12 months or more preferably NSW and South East Queensland. Our interests include travelling, walking/hiking and water sports. We are both fit and healthy, don't drink or smoke and enjoy the outdoors. We feel that we are able to fit into a city or rural environment as we have lived in both and would certainly care for your home, garden and pets as if our own. We are more than happy to discuss any house sitting jobs, answer questions, provide references, police checks, photos etc and anything else you would like so as to feel comfortable and secure with the house sitter you have chosen. With kind regardsSusan and David Kirkwood

I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy. My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything. I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.Hope we can assist each other .
Two very quiet mature non smoking, non party, women who love classical music, and our beloved 11 year old Lab/staffy boy who is a quiet gentleman, and an inside dog, he travels with us now since we have stopped travelling overseas, we promised him we would never leave again. We have been house sitters over the years and locum managers for B&Bs, self catering cottages and small farms. We would now like to pet/house sit for other people. After lots of travelling during which we have had special people look after our beloved boy, we could enjoy our trips, we would now like to help others to enjoy their travels. Our beloved boy gets on with dogs, cats, chickens, sheep and horses and of course loves people. References can be supplied, and our police check is up to date Do you need us? We would be very pleased to help you enjoy your adventures.
We are a professional couple located in Canberra and have previously completed a local house sit in between the sale of our house and the purchase of our new one. We have a seventeen year old daughter who loves school and enjoys part-time work. She is a mature young lady who loves animals of all shapes and sizes. We enjoy meeting and looking after new furry friends during house sits and our daughter currently does this in our home for Don't Fret Pet. We are clean and tidy non-smokers who respect other peoples property and privacy. Whilst we don't have Happy Housesitters references we are happy to forward both of our work histories which include over two decades service in the AFP and an executive HR management role with a not-for-profit.Our house sitting interest at the moment is for holiday breaks (either in or out of school holidays) as a family, or sometimes individually as I (Tony) don't work full time. Occasionally I am happy to get away for a break by myself. My wife encourages it;-)If you are after a small family who will take care of your pets and home as if they were their own then we would love to help.

Hi there, I'm a semi retired 50 something male (non smoker) who looks after people's pets and homes. I have had many happy clients, including lots of dogs and cats and horses and cows (see pics); I'm sure their owners are happy too. I have many references from pet owners who you can speak to; including police personnel, doctors and business owners, so you can check my bona fides.I have much rural experience and I'm rather handy with tractors, diggers, ride on lawn mowers, chainsaws and the like. Homes in my care have varied from farms to cute cottages to executive palaces and high security homes. My preferences are northern rivers of NSW / sthn Queensland and the greater Sydney area. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks :) Available from 19 November 2014.
We are two retired, active, music and food loving schoolteachers with a penchant for travelling and enjoying new experiences. We have been involved in house and pet sitting for many years and in many places throughout Australia and overseas. While we have a home in Adelaide, we enjoy a nomadic lifestyle in our motorhome, which makes it unfair to have pets of our own. Housesitting allows us to indulge our love of animals and over the years we have cared for many dogs, cats, birds, horses, sheep, goats, cattle and the like, with dogs, whether big and boisterous or small and cuddly, being our special love. We are certainly respectful, house-proud sitters, with Tony being a dab hand at housework and gardening while Helen is something of an expert at quality control, and you can rest assured that your property and pets will be cared for as if they are our own. We will happily provide you with contact details for phone referees if required.
Hello. I am a retired, mature (sadly!), married woman looking to do some house sitting. I live with my husband in our own home on the Gold Coast and we currently have a dog and a cat. I am an experienced "pet" person, having had all manor of animals in my home, from mice, birds, fish to cats and dogs. Our own dog (a kelpie) is currently 7 years old and a very crazy young thing, needing lots and lots of exercise. He was supposed to be an outside dog, but somehow that rule hasn't been fully applied! Our cat is almost 4 and is very much busy with chasing the dog around. I am able to garden, clean the pool, look after the house and pets. I am a non smoker. Though I plan to "house sit" usually by myself, there would be times when my husband would join me for a short break. We are both thoroughly house trained! We are planning to formally retire in a few years and I feel that house sitting in different places would help me to get a feel for various districts by living like a local, rather than as a tourist. I am most happy to look after pets and would look after your home well. I have now done many house sits (and many return sits) and can forward names and contact details for these house owners as references. I have a written personal character reference that I can send on to you as well. Hopefully all will tell you how wonderful I am. Oh, and also that I am honest, reliable and trustworthy. You can email me on firstname.lastname@example.org anytime. My preference is for short breaks, up to three weeks or so, and around the ACT or anywhere in NSW. Thanks. Eeva

One of these homes was a farm with a small flock of sheep and various other livestock and pets.Suzanne is a retired registered nurse and Larry a retired firefighter. Our activities include yoga, hiking, cooking and travel. We are responsible, active folks who would care for your home and pet(s) as if they were our own.We are non-smokers and will provide additional references if requested.Larry and Suzanne Peacock

HelloMy husband and I are a retired English couple whose son is now living in Melbourne Victoria. We want to explore Australia with a view of emmigrating to Australia and we see house sitting as a way in which we could do this. Looking after someones house and or pets would help us get a real feel of the area. We have experience in looking after dogs and cats having had our own and looked after family members pets when they go on holidays. We are in our late 50's early 60's and are fit. We love walking and are houseproud, so would look after your home. My husband is very practical, a handyman around the house able to solve most maintainance issues. We could supply references if required however, communication between us, potential sitters and house owners will put both our minds at rest..We will be available from November 2017 until July 2018.We would be very interested in a housesit over the Xmas New Year that would be open to us inviting some of our family to stay over. We would be very responsible and respectful of your property and pets at this time.Roger and PhyllisI have attached below a character reference from my colleague at my place of work for 23 years. To whom it may concern.I have known Phyllis Austin in excess of 23 years both as a work colleague and as a friend. She was employed by Tesco Stores Limited in various managerial roles including Customer Service Manager responsible for the well being and training of over 120 staff, before ending up as a Compliance Manager in Newton Abbot store,This role involved ensuring that the store remained safe and legal at all times. This meant liaising with the rest of the management team from Store Manager down to make sure that they completed all of their legal training such as Health and Safety, Fire and Pest Control.During my time working with Phyllis she was always diligent and thorough and had a way of ensuring that everything was completed to tight timescales through her manner, encouraging others to do their best, and coaching/training whenever necessary. Part of her duties included being in charge of the store as a duty manager, and this task she completed with ease.I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any role that she applied for as I know that her integrity and honesty are second to none.If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.Paul FosterCustomer Experience ManagerNewton Abbot 2920This is a confidential email. We are a responsible, trustworthy, non-smoking freelance/semi-retired couple with plenty of common sense, responsibility and reliability. We are German born with Australian Permanent Residency/European Citizenship. We both have/had responsible positions in our careers. Reiner enjoyed a managing position for over 15 years at a renowned Public Health Insurance in Duisburg and I was the Managing Director of an Interior Design Company and the owner of a reputable and successful Home and Giftware store with several employees in Sydney. We are currently enjoying some time-out and are possessed by the traveling bug and welcome this alternate lifestyle of housesitting around the world. As we have more time for ourselves and do the things we truly enjoy, we also have the flexibility to travel with or without our caravan (in Europe) and also do the things we really love doing, like walking, riding bicycles, yoga, meditation reading, cooking, crafting, listening to music...We aim to take a professional approach to housesitting and would like to undertake a variety of housesit assignments around the world. We have many years of travel experience and are easily and quickly comfortable elsewhere. We would feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to housesit in different countries and experience their history and culture and learning a new language is always great fun. Housesitting enables us to experience diverse areas and cultures and getting to know the community we live in.We have both been brought up surrounded by pets and they played a huge part of our life and they have been treated like family members. Our travelling lifestyle precludes us from having our own pets so we particularly love to spoil your beautiful two or four legged family members that we have entrusted to our care. As we are new to the housesitting community we would very much welcome the opportunity for us to sit. We are an open minded couple and our time traveling throughout Europe with our Caravan has been introducing us to our nomadic life style. Although we are new to the concept of ‘house-sitting’ we regularly find ourselves taking care of the pets of our camping neighbours and spoiling their dogs and cats with cuddles or walk or sit them.We feel that housesitting is home away from home. We look after everything as we would if the house was our own. We both own properties and have a good common sense of how and what to be taken care of. We have renovated our own properties and landscaped our gardens so we can put our hands to most things should the need arise in an emergency. We know that it may be worrying for you to leave your pets and home; we are very conscious of this and we will make sure that we communicate regularly by email or to reassure you that all is well. We recognize the importance of selecting the right house-sitters to look after your home, pets and garden. We are genuine animal lovers and having pets to look after is a pleasure for us. We are also house proud and we will keep your house and garden looking clean and tidy and maintained in good condition for your return. We can provide police check and any other information you may wish to know upon request. Happy to Skype also as introduction and a way to get to know us more upfront.Do contact us as we are always happy to discuss your individual house-sitting needs. Kind regards,Christina & Reiner
Hi there-PREFERRED SITS ARE MELBOURNE! BUT I DON'T MIND THE ODD HOLIDAY SOMEWHERE LOVELY TOO!!!! I love animals and regularly donate my time and money to help out animal rescue and the RSPCA, I come with amazing references of people that I've met online and sat for and from good friends who I have sat for, one being Mel Scott of Purrticular Photography, you can find her on Instagram and a cute pic of myself in a fairy costume and her gorgeous cat. I also work for ARJ BARKER from Flight of the Conchords and other tv, comedy, he is my reference also.I work in promo, comedy and fitness, my hours vary, I'm 36, responsible, tidy, healthy, non smoker and I have a Working with Children check recently as I work as a babysitter and kids entertainer too.
I'm a 37 year old media analyst from Melbourne who has the better part of 2016 house/dog sitting across Melbourne and Hobart and would love to keep the ball rolling. Houseproud, respectful, and responsible, I can be relied upon to treat your home and pets as if they were my own. Most experienced with dogs and cats, I am firmly of the 'pets as family' school when it comes to furry companions. I'm known for taking dogs on long walks and talking to them as if they were people. Very comfortable with active dogs, I have the most experience with staffy's and crosses of similar size. Growing up in regional Victoria with family in dairy farming also means I know my way around a farm, although perhaps not to the point of driving a tractor.Having wintered in Tasmania, I am returning to Victoria in October and am looking for housesits in the greater Melbourne area.
We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple. We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia. We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years! We have, of course got references and a police check. Currently we are available for the following period:Mid-Dec 2017 to mid-Jan 2018 (4/5 weeks) when we will be extending an already planned Oct/Nov visit to our daughter who lives in Sydney. The tickets are booked and paid!Dick/Ann

Henri and Meredith have deep ties to the Northern Rivers community. They are both members (and medal winners) of Ballina Toastmasters (and former executive members of the Club). As business owners themselves, they are also active members of Byron and Beyond Networking and Ballina Business Alliance, both networking groups for local business people. Other local memberships they have include Byron Writers' Festival, Lismore Theatre Company (Meredith performed in a play for the Group in 2016 and Henri was stage manager) and Henri is a member of Screenworks. Both Meredith and Henri run their own business. Meredith owns LaughterWorx - where she develops program and one-off events for businesses, community groups, aged care facilities, events, conferences, gyms etc.. to help participants build resilience, confidence, improve communication and team harmony and bust stress using laughter. Meredith also likes to give back to the community, and in May 2017 ran free Laughter classes in Lismore for those affected by the floods to try and find their funny bone mojo again. She also runs Laughter classes for North Coast Community College (having completed Term 1 2017, currently half way through Term 2 and booked for Term 3). Meredith is also author of one non-fiction book (The Busy Woman's Guide to Inner Health and Outer Beauty) and is researching the second book in her The Busy Woman's Guide series. Henri's business is LAMB, which stands for Local Authors Mobile Bookshop. The business is devoted to promoting the works by authors from the Northern Rivers. It's the only outlet of its kind and they are really proud of it. LAMB travels to markets and shopping centres to showcase the wide range of publications. Henri is also an author of six books, both fiction and non-fiction, as well as an actor, director and playwright. His plays have been staged in Australia and the UK. In February of 2017, Henri was awarded the Nancy Fairfax Writer-in-Residence at the Tweed Regional Gallery (courtesy of Byron Writers' Festival); and in 2016 he won the Mary Shelley Frankenstein 200 award for a short story. You can look for their Facebook pages and websites to find out more information. The couple took up housesitting on returning from an extended overseas trip in 2015, and found it so enjoyable they haven't stopped yet. Both love animals, and since their last cat passed away before they went O/S, petsitting has allowed them the pleasure of being with quite a range of wonderful critters! Neither smoke, and with both working mostly from home there is usually someone around to keep your pet/s company.Meredith's mother moved to Ballina from Sydney in early 2017, so housesitting locally means they can stay close to her. Meredith and Henri have looked after homes as far away as Maryborough (Qld) and as close as Ballina. Earlier in 2017 they chook/fish/budgie sat for nearly a month, and in May/June/July 2017 are dogsitting in East Ballina. Last Christmas/New Year they cat sat in Mt Tamborine for a month, and the homeowners were so happy having Meredith and Henri in their home, they booked them again for late August 2017 for a month. (Mt Tamborine is a little bit out of the way - but the cats are so gorgeous they just couldn't say no!).Meredith and Henri would be more than happy to meet up so everyone can make sure they are a mutual good fit. This could be via Skype, in a coffee shop, or in your home. Please feel free to send through any questions. References can be made available upon request.

Hello Home Owners! This year I am focusing on house-sitting around the Toowoomba area; some areas in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast; South Australia [ my birth state]..Adelaide and surrounds, the south east, Barossa Valley, Clare; and Victoria ..around and in Melbourne, Mornington Peninsular, Yarra Valley; and in and around Newcastle.Being a pensioner, and a retired teacher,I decided House-Sitting was my only way of having a break/ holiday from home. I have done several successful house-sits ..all with dogs, cats, birds, fish , etc., and even a pet python.I am an inveterate animal-lover, with a rural back-ground. I do not smoke , and only have the occasional good wine or Guinness. I don't throw parties.. not even dinner-parties!! I bring my own mobile larder, laptop, printer, mobile USB internet , and mobile phone, so I do not need much, apart from some space in the fridge and the freezer. I have my own transport .References are available.
We are on the road to retirement & looking forward to the next stage in our life, we are still doing some work via the internet & this means that we will be around for most of the time to care & watch over everything for you.As well as travelling & having new experiences along the way, we have found that house sitting really suits us as it is so comforting to stay in a friendly home environment & if there are pets or animals to look after, then their company is an added bonus! We love animals & wildlife & have had a long experience in caring for dogs, cats & farm animals. Unfortunately we no longer have our own pets, so we would welcome the opportunity to care for yours. My name is Norma and I am a fit and healthy mature age lady from Victoria, mother of 2 grown children and grandmother to 3 little girls.I grew up in the suburbs of Melbourne as a child but lived on 2 acres in the country as an adult. I am very happy with my own company and spacearound me and the peace and quiet. Isolation does not bother me.I owned my first dog, a border collie/kelpie cross at 14 years of age and my brother brought home a cat from school about the same time; they both lived to a great age as our pets. Next came a german shepherd I trained to win obedience trials and then with children came a menagerie of animals - an abused german shepherd from a shelter, a keeshound who was a challenge with great rewards, a cat which adopted us, birds, fish and guinea pigs. All have gone now. When I was in my 20's I travelled the world for 4 years which was the making of me I believe as a young person. After many years and a different life of being an empty nester and with changing circumstances, I again began to travel. I love experiencing new places and meeting new people and I have found housesitting a wonderful way to do this. I have met some lovely people and cared for some adorable animals, some of which I would have happily adopted.I can only see it as a win win for both myself and home owners but I also understand how difficult it is for pet owners to leave their animals in the care of a stranger. I can only say that I treat the house and pets as I would my own and take the best care I can of both. I have included references, both character and housesitting.I joined a world wide housesitting site 18 months ago and have been busy for most of that time, mostly suburban sits in Victoria and Western Australia (where my daughter lives) with domestic animals but also have sat a 30 acre horse property and a 12 acre hobby farm with miniature horses, sheep and chooks. I have recently joined this site as, at this point in time, I am unlikely to travel overseas and being an Australian site, I feel it gives more options to see my own country. I am looking forward to exploring more country areas of Victoria and also interstate in the future as a sitter. My hobbies are gardening, reading, singing, walking and travel. On longer sits I try to become part of the local community by pursuing those interests.I have a police clearance because of employment with children and volunteering with the elderly. I have worked in childcare, vineyards and hospitality.Key achievements:10 years as a cub leaderCare of children in my homeVolunteer driver for elderlyWorked in orphanage in ThailandTaught English in Greece and AfricaBook-keeper for husband's business.
I am a happy, friendly, 60 year old semi-retired house-sitter who is a fit, non-smoking, mature female; honest, reliable, house and garden proud. I grew up on a farm thus have familiarity, experience, patience and love for animals and pets, having grown up caring for many various pets of my own.I have a passion for gardening and landscaping; I have the time to care for, walk and empathize with your pet/s missing their owner/s while keeping your home safe and as you left it. I have always owned my own homes and worked in responsible professional positions; married for 37 years to an electrician who works away six months of the year, with adult independent children living interstate pursuing professional careers.I will respect your home, garden and beloved pets with the care I show my own. I can supply a Police Check, Working with Children Check (pets are our children!), House Owners and character references when required.I am willing to listen carefully to your instructions, preferences & requirements. Thank-you, Dianne :)
