We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple. We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia. We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years! We have, of course got references and a police check. Currently we are available for the following period:Mid-Dec 2017 to mid-Jan 2018 (4/5 weeks) when we will be extending an already planned Oct/Nov visit to our daughter who lives in Sydney. The tickets are booked and paid!Dick/Ann
Hello. I am a retired, mature (sadly!), married woman looking to do some house sitting. I live with my husband in our own home on the Gold Coast and we currently have a dog and a cat. I am an experienced "pet" person, having had all manor of animals in my home, from mice, birds, fish to cats and dogs. Our own dog (a kelpie) is currently 7 years old and a very crazy young thing, needing lots and lots of exercise. He was supposed to be an outside dog, but somehow that rule hasn't been fully applied! Our cat is almost 4 and is very much busy with chasing the dog around. I am able to garden, clean the pool, look after the house and pets. I am a non smoker. Though I plan to "house sit" usually by myself, there would be times when my husband would join me for a short break. We are both thoroughly house trained! We are planning to formally retire in a few years and I feel that house sitting in different places would help me to get a feel for various districts by living like a local, rather than as a tourist. I am most happy to look after pets and would look after your home well. I have now done many house sits (and many return sits) and can forward names and contact details for these house owners as references. I have a written personal character reference that I can send on to you as well. Hopefully all will tell you how wonderful I am. Oh, and also that I am honest, reliable and trustworthy. You can email me on email@example.com anytime. My preference is for short breaks, up to three weeks or so, and around the ACT or anywhere in NSW. Thanks. Eeva
We are two retired guys who are purchasing a house on the Gold Coast and will rent it out for a year or so to drive around Australia. We would love to house and/or pet sit for other people on the way while they enjoy their time away. We have rented houses around NSW and Qld and have always treated them as if they were our own as is testament by the excellent references we have been given by the Property managers, and this is the way we would look after any properties that we are lucky enough to sit. We have had extensive experience with both domestic animals...cats, dogs, birds etc. after having owned all of these at some stage...one of which is shown in the pic I have uploaded...as well as farm animals whilst owning acreage in NSW and Qld.We are both extremely clean & tidy people, non smokers and like to ride push bikes, play tennis and go to sporting events like AFL, Rugby League, tennis etc.
Carolyn & Christopher, married 43 years, with 3 adult children who now all reside East Coast NSW.Non-smokers. Originally from Australia, I have been traveling full-time since June 2014, living in Thailand, Canada, USA, Mexico, Egypt and now back to Mexico. I am now looking for sits as I am returning to Australia in late 2017.A highlight for me is meeting new people on my travels, through housesitting I have made some wonderful friends - both animal and human! Before setting off on my journey around the world I used to work as an Executive Assistant in the Media field. I now am in the process of opening my own online business. I have extensive experience looking after dogs and cats through petsitting and volunteering. I have previously spent four months in Thailand volunteering full-time at a dog shelter with subsequent returns over the last couple of years. My main duties were walking, socializing, giving basic medical treatment, feeding and bathing the dogs. There were over 300 there, so it was always busy. I have always owned pets whilst growing up and into my adult life, both cats and dogs. I grew up in the country, so was also around farm animals. I have had to administer medication to some of my animals I have been sitting for in the past, I have also had to take animals to the vet for treatment. I am not afraid to get in and get dirty when it comes to animals, I understand they can make mess at times and I always aim to ensure your house and pet's environment is keep clean and tidy. Here is an overview of some of my past and upcoming housesits.Dec 2016 - Jan 2017 - Turkey, 30 Cats and 5 dogsMay 2017 - Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, 2 catsMid June to end of July 2017 - Mexico City, 1 catAugust - September 2017 - Cozumel, Mexico, 2 dogs & 2 cats and turtlesOctober 2017 - Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, 1 catI have been lucky enough to book many of my sits through Facebook forums, I have more references offline. I have flexible and easy going attitude with the ability to quickly adapt to new environments. I am responsible, trustworthy, independent and can think on my feet and problem-solve. I keep a quiet, clean environment and treat other people's home and possessions with respect and privacy. But above all, lots of love and care for your pets. I try to live like a local as much as possible when I travel and experience life away from the tourist areas. I am mainly working online and can spend most of my time at home with your pets. I am a homebody and feel very comfortable being on my own.
HiMy husband, I and 2 daughters love house and pet sitting! We had a farm in New Zealand so have a great knowledge and experience of farm animals and all kinds of fur babies! We have owned many cats, dogs, guinea pigs, birds, fish... We all adore our animals. Our daughters are very academic and also love looking after animals as they have always been brought up with animals around them. Abigail is nearly 14 and Michaela is 10. They are very respectable of other peoples properties and always clean up after themselves! They are very quiet girls. My husband is an engineer and I am a full time mum. We live in Brisbane but are moving to the Sunshine Coast in January 2018. We are looking for a house sit for January to the end of March 2018 near Buderim! Last year we moved over from New Zealand. We have lived in Adelaide and the UK and South Africa. We are also wanting to do a house / pet sit anywhere in Australia or New Zealand for December and the beginning of January 2018!We are non smokers and do not drink. We have always owned our own homes. We love these opportunities of house sitting as it gives us time to look for work and properties while we are relocating, and gives us a "holiday from home" too. We are very appreciative of these opportunities too! We always clean the properties and treat as if they were our own. We treat the animals as if they were our own and they always become a part of our family too!We do have GREAT references so please request them. I am trying to get them uploaded to this website too. I can also give you a call anytime to have a chat and we can come and visit you! We are very honest, loyal, professional and kind people so are always open to suggestions and opinions etc. Thank you for your time!Michelle
I'm a mature aged, non-smoking female who has chosen to housesit as an alternative to renting. I've been housesitting since September 2011 and I really enjoy the lifestyle. House-sitting is a great way to save money until I can afford a place of my own, plus I enjoy experiencing different places. I love animals (was raised on a dairy farm), and am experienced in dealing with all their cute little quirks (and messes!) and providing a load of pats and affection if required. However, having a pet is not a requirement for me to house-sit.I keep the homes I house-sit for in good condition and am very respectful of the homes I care for.. Owners have been very happy with the condition I leave their homes, gardens and pets in and I've had many return house-sits and referrals as a result. Any tasks that need to be done in your absence - like mail collection and putting out the bins - are part and parcel of the house-sitting lifestyle and I'm happy to do them for you. I work at home part time for a super company and I also do some writing so I spend much of my time working on my computer. The good news for you is I'll be around to keep your pets company and hold down the forte, so your pets will be well looked after and your home will be well attended. I enjoy my own company and peace and quite around the house. When I'm at home it's just me, so you can rest assured that there won't be a continual procession of visitors stampeding through your home. Of course, I can go on about how responsible, reliable and trustworthy I am....but why not get in contact with me so you can decide for yourself. I have great referrences and a police check...what more can you ask for in a sitter?
We are two retired, active, music and food loving schoolteachers with a penchant for travelling and enjoying new experiences. We have been involved in house and pet sitting for many years and in many places throughout Australia and overseas. While we have a home in Adelaide, we enjoy a nomadic lifestyle in our motorhome, which makes it unfair to have pets of our own. Housesitting allows us to indulge our love of animals and over the years we have cared for many dogs, cats, birds, horses, sheep, goats, cattle and the like, with dogs, whether big and boisterous or small and cuddly, being our special love. We are certainly respectful, house-proud sitters, with Tony being a dab hand at housework and gardening while Helen is something of an expert at quality control, and you can rest assured that your property and pets will be cared for as if they are our own. We will happily provide you with contact details for phone referees if required.
Hi, my name is Jayne. I am 62 and a non smoker. I am conscientious, clean and adore dogs, like cats. I would take the kind of loving care with your home and pets you would take. I walk once or twice a day so dog walking is fun for me. I like watering and gardening and i even love mowing but must admit i can't always get mowers started! I started housesitting in WA about 10 years ago in Perth and Dunsborough for 4 years and have housesat in Queensland, port macquarie and the northern rivers. People have always been happy with the health and happiness of their pets and their house when they have returned home. I have been offered repeat housesits. I have great references. I owned my own business in Sydney for 12 years so you can see i am responsible and reliable. I am semi retired and work mostly from my laptop so can work anywhere. i design and make semi precious stone jewellery and whenever i get the opportunity i make no dig gardens and grow beautifully healthy vegies. I sold my home in New South Wales in 2008 while i was enjoying living in the Margaret River region of WA. I have come back east because my mother is elderly now. I have had the joy of owning 3 Scottish Terriers: Mac, Skye and Kiltie. I would like to housesit anywhere from Port Macquarie up through the Northern Rivers and Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Please contact me if i can help. Kindest regards, Jayne

I am in a transition stage this year, having put my home in storage at New Year and I'm undertaking full time house sitting while I live in different suburbs and the surrounding areas of Sydney. Eventually I aim to buy an apartment and will either rent it out or live in it. In the last twelve months I sold a business after building it up over twenty years and moved out of a townhouse where I had lived for twelve years. I am undertaking a masters degree by research this year and next so I have a lot of time to stay "in" if required which will suit pet owners. I have been enjoying the house sitting community and it suits my current life of studying and doing much less work.I love animals and, apart from the last 5 years, have had pets of all descriptions most of my life. An inner-city person now, I have lived in different places over the years including by the ocean, on a river and on a farm over twenty years ago and raised animals of all kinds from baby lambs and calves to cats, dogs and birds. I pet sit for friends when they are away and the pets always take to me quickly as I do them. I have worked in the arts and business for twenty five years and now run a small home based business as well as my study which does not require attendance at class. I have grown children who are totally independent and I feel this is my time to explore new ideas and live in new areas. House sitting is a great way to live in new areas and transition to a new home eventually for myself. I am very responsible, a garden and pet lover. I do need to stay within commuting distance of Sydney for study and family.
Two very quiet mature non smoking, non party, women who love classical music, and our beloved 11 year old Lab/staffy boy who is a quiet gentleman, and an inside dog, he travels with us now since we have stopped travelling overseas, we promised him we would never leave again. We have been house sitters over the years and locum managers for B&Bs, self catering cottages and small farms. We would now like to pet/house sit for other people. After lots of travelling during which we have had special people look after our beloved boy, we could enjoy our trips, we would now like to help others to enjoy their travels. Our beloved boy gets on with dogs, cats, chickens, sheep and horses and of course loves people. References can be supplied, and our police check is up to date Do you need us? We would be very pleased to help you enjoy your adventures.

Hi, We are a couple 67 and 60. We have just retired and have already done a number of house sits on Magnetic island and in the Brisbane area. We have enjoyed it immensely, we now would like to get more into house sitting to see more of this wonderful country. Our house sitting preference at this time would be Queensland or Northern NSW, however we are looking at all states. We have lived in our own house in Coffs Harbour for 40 years. We are a very stable couple who pride ourselves on looking after other peoples houses and animals the same as we look after our own. Although we have not had any dogs or cats at home we do have quite a bit of experience with animals, looking after many different kinds during the house sitting jobs that we have previously done. Spencer has also worked at an animal park for 40 years. We have bred birds as a hobby for the last 10 years. We are sure your house and animals would be in good hands with us looking after it while you are away. We are both non-smokers and enjoy the outdoors. References are available. Please call us to discuss any needs you may have.

It truly is a pity from my perspective that they don’t live locally (Penquin, Tasmania) to be able to house sit for me all the time. I highly recommend them to anyone wishing the best care for their fur babies and truly believe they were the best house sitters I could ever wish for.• Sharon Gawronski (Don Valley) September 2014Anneline & Corline house sat for me last year, looking after our horses, dogs and other animals. The animals took to them easily and were comfortable in their care.I have known Anneline for some time now and have always found her to be honest and trustworthy.Corline is exceptional at home care/housekeeping.
(Sorry but we are fully booked for the rest of 2017) Hi, my husband and I are recently retired teachers 61 and 62 who have lived and worked in the same area for 32 years. Of course as teachers we had regular police checks and we can also provide references. After retirement we went to Canada, Hawaii, Far North Queensland and Tasmania. Yes we have caught the travel bug! We are friendly, reliable and caring and now that our children have grown up and our beloved pets passed away we are rattling around our house with time on our hands. As a retired couple we are available for any length of time and we can plan to house sit everywhere in Australia for the next 12 months to 24 months after which time we hope our children will provide us with grandchildren to spoil. As my husband Ross is a very keen fisherman we try for locations close to good fishing areas. We love animals and we always look after all our friends and neighbours pets, houses, gardens and mail when they are away. One of them suggested pet and house sitting as it involves travelling, animals and gardening! We will take meticulous care of your house, mail, indoor plants, veggie gardens and lovingly look after dogs, cats, birds, fish, chooks, rabbits and guinea pigs. We are more than happy to be in touch with you prior to the pet and house sit and we can also give you updates during your trip so get in touch with us any time to discuss your needs and travel dates as we can accommodate our time to suit your needs. We prefer the northern areas of Australia during the winter months and we are looking forward to a visit to New Zealand in 2018. Ross is a keen fisherman and gardener, I adore reading and writing and tend to be more of a home body and we both really enjoy seeing new sights and meeting new people. You can leave knowing we will take extremely good care of your pets, house and garden and while you’re away. Ross and I are looking forward to getting to know you and giving your pets our love and attention. Prior to handover we would prefer a written list of your requirements and instructions including your mobile number and email address so we can make contact and get to know each other prior to your trip. We know the importance of trust in this relationship and can assure you of our honesty and love of animals, in fact we have found the hardest part of pet sitting is saying goodbye to the pets because we grow so fond of them.
