Hi I’m Emma, a 29 year old single female from Melbourne. I currently work part time in retail and am also a qualified dietitian. I have started house and pet sitting as a way to experience living in different areas of Melbourne and helping to save for travelling overseas.

I love being around and taking care of animals. I grew up in Melbourne having family dogs, and I currently help look after my housemates cat Theodore (pictured). I give him lots of love and cuddles and tend to his kitty litter when she is out for the night/weekend and during her recent month long trip to America. I also love looking after my friends gorgeous dogs Darcy and Luna from time to time (also pictured), taking them for lots of walks which they love!

I have lived in a few sharehouses so am well practised at keeping a clean house, collecting mail and keeping the plants alive and watered. I also have my own reliable car. I am happy to fit in with your pets routines, give them lots of love and cuddles, walks and keep you updated with photos.

Look forward to hearing from you! :)

Two very quiet mature non smoking, non party, women who love classical music. We have been house sitters over the years and locum managers for B&Bs, self catering cottages and small farms.

We would now like to pet/house sit for others. as after lots of travelling during which we have had special people look after our beloved boy who sadly has gone where good pets go when it is their time for peace, we would now like to help others to enjoy their travels.

References can be supplied, and our police check is up to date Do you need us? We would be very pleased to help you enjoy your adventures.

My name is Simone Gribble, I'm 37 years old and work as an English language teacher, secretary and freelancer. Originally from Australia, I have spent the last eight years in Edinburgh. Together with my boyfriend, Barry (he's 42 and Irish - we met in Scotland), we travel the world and housesit. We are capable of caring for your house and garden (Barry is especially interested and good at gardening), and any pets you may have. We love country/rural areas as well as cities. We are active and non-smokers.

We started housesitting for friends and have expanded since then, including the following assignments: Melbourne with a lovely ageing rescue dog for three separate assignments of varying lengths, Melbourne for four weeks with two charming Scottie Dogs. Edinburgh for five weeks, looking after a well loved cat and two guinea pigs. Ireland for two weeks, looking after a zoo of four dogs (including a Great Dane puppy), a cat, two rats, and a ferret. Laos for three weeks, making friends with four large dogs and various other small animals. I have also house sat for a friend of a friend who went sailing for eight months. I looked after the property and the builders who were renovating the outside brick work! I have also taken care of a B & B while the owners were away, maintaining the property and caring for guests. I have also house sat a property before selling, including conducting viewings.

To any assignment, we bring love, care and enthusiasm. We are very good communicators. Capable of dealing with minor handyman problems that crop up but we'll always let you know how things are going. We are responsible and respectful of your property and animals. If you have pets we will take care of them to your standard and specifications. We have had house sitters in our own flat in the past so can understand the owners point of view too.

WHO I AM: A responsible & trustworthy 33yr old non-smoker, I have housesat worldwide & have many great references and repeat clientele. I love having animals around me, especially adore cats and horses, and have a soft spot for well-behaved dogs. I am house-proud, & really enjoy every-day tasks of caring for a home as if it were my own. A scientist, ecologist then yacht-stewardess, I am not quite sure i have finished with travelling the world, but it sure is nice to come home for a while. Housesitting gives me the chance to work out 'where' and 'what' next, whilst saving a little bit for wherever the next adventure might take me. And as an animal lover, whilst my currently-nomadic life doesn't allow for my own pets, I take much pleasure in caring for your much-loved family pets, knowing I am providing them with consistency in their routine and a comfy lap and scritches at their merest hint of the request. I am honest, careful, with a high attention to detail, respectful of your wishes, and have a police check & many references.

*** WHAT I HAVE DONE IN THE RECENT PAST: I worked for a number of years as a scientist, saved and bought a townhouse in Melbourne, before deciding to see the world, pursuing my love of nature and animals by participating in various animal volunteer projects in Latin America for two years, then working as a yacht stewardess to supplement further travel throughout Europe. I have been lucky to housesit (and boatsit) caring for many different pets all throughout my travels, which in turn gave me with much-needed animal companionship and a place to care for as if it were my own.

***WHAT I DO: Now I am returning to Australia for a few months to visit my best friend and her new baby (in Warragul) and to exact some repairs upon my (currently tenanted) townhouse (in Glenroy), to work on writing a book, and to study some. I do not intend to work in this short time so I will have heaps of quality time to spend with your pets and be added security presence for your home. I enjoy my own time and quiet space, and am the sort of person who enjoys meditation and yoga, walking through forests, quiet reflection, writing, and cooking fresh and nourishing meals. I do not take drugs, and am a firm NON-smoker who appreciates a smoke-free environment, so please do let me know if you are an inside smoker, so we can determine if this might affect our mutual suitability.

*** CLEAN & TIDY: I am an extremely clean and tidy person, (force of habit from working in the yachting industry) so I appreciate the same in my surroundings. Any effort you make to clean and tidy your home before you go will be returned in-kind as I always leave a home better than how I found it, and with more joy in my heart for doing so when it is obvious you take pride in it too.

*** REGULAR UPDATES: I have used Happy Housesitters in the past when I had to leave my own cat and home, so I totally understand how you feel & will keep you updated via email, facebook, whatsapp or Skype, as frequently as you wish, whilst you are away. The health and happiness of your pet, security of your home, and your peace-of-mind are my top priorities.

*** GREAT REFERENCES: I can provide great references upon request (many of my sits have been overseas and by word-of-mouth, so references have not been sent through the happyhousesitter site, though I have plenty), and am happy to meet either in person if possible or via Skype, before you commit so you can see if I will be the perfect fit for you & your pets.

*** EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE: I have experience with cats, dogs, horses, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, goats, fish, and birds.
I am experienced & comfortable with administration of medicines, and small farm tasks. Please contact to discuss any requirements.

*** HAPPY, HEALTHY PETS: Finally, I love all animals and seek first and foremost to keep them comfortable and happy, healthy and enjoying life. No request to this end is ever too big or too small.

Meet the world’s most houseproud housesitter! I’m a 39 yo single female experienced housesitter, who loves the domestic life of home, pets and garden. A true homebody and animal lover, I will spend most nights reading and curled up on the couch with furry friends.

Why choose me to look after your home?

* Your house and your pets are among the most precious things in life, so you need to know you’re entrusting them to someone who cares as much as you do.

* I’m a 39 yo single female, quiet homebody. No entertaining. No parties. No coming and going at all hours.

* Non-smoker. Non-drinker.

* Heaps of experience. I have plenty of homeowners who came home to immaculate homes and happy pets who can provide references.

* I LOVE everything domestic. I’m probably one of the most houseproud sitters you’ll ever meet. I adore cleanliness and order and will treat your home with the same care and respect that I do my own.

* Huge animal lover! Because I’m unable to have my own pets, I usually end up best buds with the pets I care for and shower with attention (or not, if they prefer!)

* Garden lover. I spend every moment I can outside enjoying nature and greenery, and love the relaxation of tending gardens.

* I work for myself, so I’m home most of the time to provide lots of companionship for pets used to company, and security for your home.

I house sit to save money and travel. I look forward to talking to you about your housesitting and pet care needs.

MATURE LADY, HOME BASED (Internet Business Owner)
PREFER LONG SITS 3-12MTH (min 3wks - stability for my work)

Hello - I am at a time of life where I am available to be the brilliant house and pet sitter you are looking for. I am a single professional, self-employed Australian with two adult sons (pursuing their own careers). With no family around me, I no longer need to be based in one location. I enjoy the freedom that house sitting offers where I can be a devoted animal lover to other people's pets while enjoying your location. Being agile and moving to different cities suits my Internet based (email traffic, not heavy downloads) work very well and as I have lived in almost all of Australia's capitals & various cities overseas, I am very much at home wherever I am.
I will consider any sit with a preference for long house sits (3-12months). I am open to being in any location, city or region…here are some of my favourites: NYC, Spain, Malta, Central America, Chile, most countries in Europe and NZ. I am self employed as a facilitator, business management consultant and executive coach where I conduct my work 'virtually' via the Internet & Skype. This means I can work anywhere as long as I have fast, reliable Internet.

Why I want to house sit
Through past house sitting experience & as a home owner with my own regular house sitter, I recognise the value of house sitting to pet lovers & security for your home while giving me flexibility & variety in lifestyle. I have travelled extensively over the years and am resourceful and socially inclusive. Your pets and home will receive my responsible and loving attention and I will be proactive by staying in touch to keep you informed about how everything is going without being a burden. You can learn more about me via my LinkedIn and business websites which I'd be happy to send you, along with my CV, biography and character referees, for information. I live simply and cleanly and will be very respectful of your home, belongings, security and privacy. I don't own a car, so, I’d welcome the use of a car if possible please, especially for overseas or remote/ distance house sits.

My experience & promise to you
I promise warmth, openness, transparency and genuine care of your pet family and your home. My 'home based' work allows me to offer a strong presence & companionship for your home & pets. I have been an Australian Army Officer with a top secret positive vet security clearance (21yr), consultant to most Australian Commonwealth Govt departments and 3yrs as deputy chair and director Crime Stoppers & National Trust boards. I pride myself on maintaining high integrity, sound judgement, balance, reliability and being a proactive communicator. I'm also very loving and gentle with animals. You can depend on me to keep you informed and to make decisions about your pets and home with your priorities in mind. I am comfortable with all types of animals and those with special needs. I will reach out to people in your immediate community network, as advised by you, if needed. I've been a home owner for 25yr, an animal lover for life and I know the value of a quality house sitter. I've had the joy of 7yrs experience as a host to my own house sitter, so I fully understand and respect the responsibility that comes with this position. I am also a 'live-in' sitter for people with frequent short absences, so I can be there while you come and go.

My aim is to give you absolute peace of mind while you are absent while having a cost effective home solution for myself (as a 'local'!) in a new environment. I look forward to getting to know you and your pet family. My previous hosts are all happy to chat with you and I can email you their references if you wish. Wherever possible, if I am in your city, I will always try to meet with you and your pets in advance of the sit so we know that 'everyone' is comfortable. Warmly, Lisa

NOTE: It's always worth checking in with me in case I am free due to hosts' change of plans. I like to make contact in advance with new hosts so we can see if we're a fit (for your pets, you & me) in advance of a future sit. Let's chat!

Hi, I'm Dan. I'm a 35 year old honest, reliable, homebody who loves dogs.

I began house sitting and dog minding four years ago, when I looked after a beautiful labrador for two months while her owners were overseas. After a few years of house sitting occasionally, I began doing this full time in August 2016 and am loving being able to spend time with some fun dogs and having the freedom to live a more relaxed, healthy lifestyle.

I'm experienced with a range of small to large breeds - from Chihuahuas to Great Danes - through my house sitting and volunteering at the RSPCA kennels. I will happily give your dog plenty of love and attention - I love going for long walks, playing games like tug-of-war, giving lots of pats, snuggling on the couch and I don't mind having dogs sleep on my bed if that's what they're used to.

I'm mature, clean and tidy, and am a non-smoker. I'm not much of a party animal, and prefer quiet nights at home catching up on my favourite TV shows or working on my laptop.

I'm able to provide a police check and references from previous house sits. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions, I'm happy to answer them!

Dick & Ann

We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple.

We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.

Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia.
We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years!
We have, of course got references and a police check.

Currently we are available for the following periods:
March/April, Aug to Christmas.

we are to German Students and currently looking for a house sitting property. We will be in Australia for 2-3 years and we thought that house sitting would be the best opportunity to get used to the life and culture in Australia.

We are responsible, self-motivated and really friendly. The most important thing is, that we have years experience looking after pets.
We own cats, chickens and we are used to dogs as well.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi - we are a semi retired couple living on the Sunshine Coast in Qld. Below are the points we consider to be the most important reasons for why we have chosen to become regular house/pet sitters:-

We have completed a number of pet/house sits and have found the experience to be really enjoyable and a great way for us to travel to different areas in Australia. We have had some wonderful pet experiences, met some great people and so we can only say really good things about our completed pet sits.
We are, of course, particularly conscious of the fact that we are in someone else's home and we take that responsibility very seriously.

Most importantly, we are animal lovers, have had many dogs and cats and know the one thing a pet owner wants, is to know their animal is happy and well cared for - we have been there ourselves. We always keep in touch via email with updates on how your pet is going.

So look forward to hearing from anyone who may be interested in our minding their home and or pet while they are away.

Paula and I (Geoff) are a retired couple who like to think of ourselves as fitness enthusiasts. We live in Southern Canberra and fill our days with cycling, bushwalking, going to the gym, camping, traveling and playing with our grandchildren.

We have recent experience with dogs and cats, no pets at the moment though and I have experience with farm life having grown up on 80 acres as a child. On our farm we had sheep and cattle for personal use and my father bred and raced Standard Breed horses.

I should also mentioned we are seasoned pet sitters, we look after our children's pets on a regular basis, 2 x dogs and 1 x cat.

Hello. I am a retired senior federal public servant, mature (sadly!), married woman looking to do some house sitting. I live with my husband in our own home on the Gold Coast and we currently have a dog and a cat. I am an experienced "pet" person, having had all manor of animals in my home, from mice, birds, fish to cats and dogs. Our own dog (a kelpie) is currently 7 years old and a very crazy young thing, needing lots and lots of exercise. He was supposed to be an outside dog, but somehow that rule hasn't been fully applied! Our cat is almost 4 and is very much busy with chasing the dog around. I am able to garden, clean the pool, look after the house and pets. I am a non smoker. Though I plan to "house sit" usually by myself, there would be times when my husband would join me for a short break. We are both thoroughly house trained! We are planning to formally retire in a few years and I feel that house sitting in different places would help me to get a feel for various districts by living like a local, rather than as a tourist. I am most happy to look after pets and would look after your home well. I have now done many house sits (and many return sits) and can forward names and contact details for these house owners as references. I have a written personal character reference that I can send on to you as well. Hopefully all will tell you how wonderful I am. Oh, and also that I am honest, reliable and trustworthy. You can email me on anytime. My preference is for short breaks, up to three weeks or so, and around the ACT or anywhere in NSW. Thanks. Eeva

We are Robert and Noelene and a conservative active early 60s retired couple based out of Ballan in Victoria and our medium term (2018) preference is for house sits in southern WA. Noelene spent her early childhood years in south west WA and we hope to catch up with a sister, auntie, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

We have travelled Australia extensively and look forward to continuing to explore all locations in slow time seeking house sits that might run for 30 days plus. We have extensive housesitting experience including suburban, country, short term rental properties and a bed and breakfast. We also enjoy remote locations having spent some time in outback Northern Territory.

We enjoy Pets and have looked after dogs, cats and fish mostly, sometimes multiples with 3 cats and 3 medium size dogs making for interesting mealtimes and walks. We have a well behaved Female Golden retriever that loves to meet other furkids.

Gardens, Lawns, general house chores, forwarding of mail and handy person jobs are typical and we are not scared to accept responsibility and other chores as agreed. We are clean and tidy, respect people's property and work to leave a property in same or better condition.

I am a 47 year old female, single, non-smoker, non-drinker working in Forensic Sciences at Macleod so need to be able to commute daily. I have been employed in Forensics since July 2001. I have recently sold my home in Kilsyth and am keen to just "chill out" for the next few years without a mortgage....ahhh mortgage free for a few years is a wonderful thought. I love all animals whether furry, feathered, hooved etc and currently have an old husky of my own, Dylan is 11 1/2 years old. (house trained, doesn't dig or destroy property, she sleeps most of day now :) ) I volunteer at RSPCA Burwood every second Friday for the day. Being a home owner myself (until recently) I understand the gravity of inviting a stranger into your home to care for it, I can assure you that I would respect your home as if it was my own. I love being outdoors and active. Gardening is one of my passions, so if you have a garden that you need nurtured and not just kept, I would be glad to help out. I have my own trailer so I'm quite willing and able to lay some mulch or do a tip run if the garden needs it. If you think I may fit the bill, please, get in touch with me and we can meet to discuss your needs. Long term house sitting eg 6 - 12 months would be quite suitable for me as I must move out of my house by December 21st 2015.

I am 56 years old and have lived in Victoria Australia most of my life. I have worked for community service organisations for over 30 years and for quite a few years have been working from home doing computer based project work.

I am honest, caring and very responsible. I have been single most of my life so I am highly self-sufficient.

Over the course of my adult life I’ve owned several homes and appreciate the sanctity of one’s own home. I am house-proud and a keen gardener.

I have minded homes and pets for friends, acquaintances and people looking for a sitter. I am highly respectful of property and peoples homes.

I love animals and have had both cats and dogs over the course of the years (I have no pets currently). I also have some experience with chooks and farm animals.

Homes I’ve minded I’ve cared for diligently, leaving them impeccably clean, gardens thriving and pets content.

Dear Home Owners,

I have been house sitting for a number of years now and I thoroughly enjoy taking care of other's homes, pets and gardens when it is necessary for them to be away traveling for work or leisure. It is my belief that if home owner's know their pets and homes are being cared for they are able to go ahead with their plans in a relaxed manner.
I have done house sitting in a number of suburbs in Melbourne; Hampton, Mont Albert North, Kew East, Glen Huntly and Collìngwood. I have also completed house sitting in Castlemaine, a small city located in Victoria's Goldfield's region, approximately 170km from Melbourne, and the beautiful Macedon, approximately 62km from Melbourne. Apart from house sitting in Victoria I have also done some house sitting in Bridgeman Downs, in Brisbane.
I have lived a rural lifestyle and taken care of many animals while doing so. For the past 22 years I have lived in Mildura and I have worked part time as a Canteen Assistant and a Library Assistant. After 15 years of working at a secondary school and a primary school and 4 daughters growing up, moving away and getting on with their own lives, I am now taking on some more Library Study as a mature aged Off Campus student and I am therefore able to travel around and experience some new places.
I am a non smoker and I have some documents for home owner's to have a look at to get to know me a little better. The following home owners are who I have completed house sitting for:

Referees for House Sitting:

1. Aimee Maxwell: Kenmare St, Mont Albert North, Vic 3129 0425 736 468

We are a close knit, fun loving little family of 3. Myself, Ngaire, I'm an Osteopath and own my business so need only be in the clinic 1 day a week, and the rest of the time I can work from home. My husband, Adam, who works for a pharmaceutical company, and our 3.5year old daughter Maeve, who just loves life, people, nature and animals.

We will be taking off on an adventure around Australia in March 2018 for 6months, however we have decided to rent out our Essendon home before then, and house sit for 7 months, as we have previously had experience house sitting and loved it! At this stage, we will be available for sits any time between July 2017, and March 2018. We are non smokers, who take pride in our home and possessions, and care for anyone else's home like we would our own. We understand how it feels to trust someone else with your home and pets.

We are happy to care for your home, keep it neat and clean, do extra little jobs and you can trust that your house will be in the same great condition you left it upon your return. We love to explore as a family, and enjoy walking dogs or taking them out and about. We would be pleased to care for any animal in whatever they need. Maeve is a gentle and kind 3 year old who understands appropriate behaviour with pets. Obviously, we need to care only for animals who are comfortable with children, so that we make sure she is safe. She also understands caring for other people's property and is no problem in a home that hasn't been "child proofed". You won't even notice she has been there!

Previous house sitting roles have involved us caring for 2 dogs, 4 cats and multiple fish in one house in the heat of summer. We are up to the challenge! We are also fine, with just a small dog who loves a cuddle, we are pretty flexible!

As a family, we love spending time exploring new places, having coffee with friends and just being together. We get out and about but also enjoy time at home so your pets would have lots of company too. We love spending time at the beach, or catching the train to the city for an explore, and of course if there is a great park around, we love a play! We are a footy loving family, though we don't agree on our teams ;-).

We would love to hear from anyone looking for down to earth, relaxed but hard working people to care for your house or pets. We are open minded for any types of property. We have police checks and references available. Please feel free to contact us with any questions at all that you may have. We are so excited for the next chapter and the variety that house sitting brings and look forward to hearing from you.

I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy.
My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything.
I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.
Hope we can assist each other .

We are on the road to retirement & looking forward to the next stage in our life, we are still doing some work via the internet & this means that we will be around for most of the time to care & watch over everything for you.

As well as travelling & having new experiences along the way, we have found that house sitting really suits us as it is so comforting to stay in a friendly home environment & if there are pets or animals to look after, then their company is an added bonus!

We love animals & wildlife & have had a long experience in caring for dogs, cats & farm animals. Unfortunately we no longer have our own pets, so we would welcome the opportunity to care for yours.

Over the years we have also had extensive experience in house & garden maintenance having renovated our own properties & also as sitters, we have cared for a number of different types of homes & properties ranging from large farms through to smaller homes & units.

We do understand that everyone's house & pets are different & we seriously take this on board & listen to each individuals requests & we will follow through with meeting your specific requirements while we stay & promise to keep you updated while you are away.

The opportunity to become your house sitter would be a great privilege & something we would not take for granted, as we both understand it is a necessity to respect your house & property & keep it well maintained while in residence.

We are both non smokers, healthy & happy people & look forward to hearing from you.

If required we can provide further reputable references & recommendation contacts.

Hope to hear from you !
