Hi, I’m Grace. I am currently travelling the world with my sister Eleanor and my 6 year old niece Erin. We are from Scotland. We will be visiting Australia during December and January and are keen to help with house and pet sitting during the holiday season. I have previous experience and references for house sitting in Australia from when I was working in Melbourne and Sydney last year. We have chosen Australia as the country we would like to spend Christmas and New Year in. This will be Erin’s first Christmas outside of Scotland and we are looking forward to giving her the opportunity to experience the festive period in the sunshine B-)
Hi, We are a retired active non smoking couple who enjoy walking, swimming, fishing and traveling. Over the last 12 months we have had over a dozen house sits on hobby farms and in the suburbs and have thoroughly enjoyed our house sits and grown fond of our pets which have included dogs, cats, fish, ducks, chooks and sheep. We have also developed good relationships with home owners and have been invited to house sit a second time.Being clean and tidy people, we will respect your home as if our own. We can provide references and police checks if required and our referees are happy to be contacted.Look forward to our next house sit.Deb and Harry
I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy. My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything. I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.Hope we can assist each other .
HiI am a reliable honest and experienced house sitter who would love to look after your home and pets. I am 45yrs old, non-smoker, clean tidy and responsible. I am about to begin a phd at Melbourne Uni and would like to explore areas around Melbourne to work out where I wish to locate myself for the next 3yrs and save a bit of money towards a house deposit.I have grown up with animals including gold fish, budgies and our much loved family dog Micky, he was a jack russell terrior who required lots of love and attention which we were more than happy to give him so I understand when a pet is part of your family.I have references available and a police check. More than happy to chat with you or for you to contact my references if you wish to.I look forward to looking after your home and pets.Clare
We are an active couple in our 60's who live on a purpose built property with our extended family. Grandchildren are wonderfull but its nice to get away every now & then for a change of scenery. We have 2 labradors & chooks on our property the care of which we share with the family. We have always had dogs in our lives as well as cats, horses, fish, chooks. Our favourite animals are dogs. We treat them as family. We walk our two Labs every day (for our own health as well as theirs) - We love to travel and in between saving for the next OS trip like to do short breaks to satisfy our need for change. We like reading, watching movies, good food and have a glass of wine at night only. Non smokers. Fastidious in the house although we do let our dogs inside at night for a cuddle. We housesat for 4 months whilst our new houses were being built & we have done 2 houseswops and 2 non recipricol guest hosting. In earlier years we hosted exchange students when our children were still at home.
Hi, My name is Derek. I'm 61, single and this is my third year house sitting. I'm currently in Bruthen (East Gippsland) enjoying the company of three very affectionate cats.I thought house sitting would be a great way to get to see and know more of Australia and Australians. The home owners, pets, locals, culture and geography I'm meeting continue to supply a wealth of positive experiences. It's also a pleasure to be able to help people get away in the knowledge their homes and pets are in safe, committed hands.Skills under my belt include gardening and house maintenance as well as pool care. I have owned, as well as looked after many pets; being experienced with dogs, cats, birds, chooks, ducks, horses, alpacas, a Shetland pony, poddy calves, fish and bees (a former orchard interest). I am reliable and would keep your pet's established routines as close to normal as possible. I understand how important peace of mind is with respect to the well being of pets. As such, I keep in regular email contact with home owners regarding pets and always attach pics of their escapades. I also spend the majority of my time around the house and therefore, with your pet/s.I am also responsible with the care and security necessary to keep a house safe and sound. I drive but don't have a car (environmental); public transport does the job. I live simply via a connection with Buddhist philosophy and practice. I don't drink or smoke. I would consider any location in Australia - city, country town or rural. Longer sits are preferable; 4 weeks plus - but would consider shorter periods depending on location and bookings. If you think I could be suitable, ring or text if dates fit and I'll get on line and/or phone you. I'll forward references and referee contacts when applying for positions. Thank you for your consideration.
We are a retired married couple who have a home in Melbourne. We have a 15 month male Staffy ( desexed) who loves people and all other dogs, he sleeps on his own bed inside. We love animals. We are non smokers. We have 3 adult children 2 are in Victoria Police and one is married to a Police member. We have 6 grandchildren. We are fit and healthy and happy to walk dogs as required. We are a retired former professional people who are responsible and caring and you may rest assured that your property and pets couldn't be left in better hands.
I sold my farm in South Africa with a heavy heart, in order to come to Australia to be close to my daughter, son-in-law and three grandsons. I arrived at the end of August 2017. I miss farm life and the house that I have rented here does not allow pets, which is awful! As I have no obligations as such, I am free to travel to house-sit or farm-sit. I have had dogs and cats all my adult life and miss the companionship dearly. My farm was 24 hectares in extent, which I farmed with one labourer, for 13 years; I bred cattle, sheep and pigs. I had chickens, geese and ducks. I also had an apricot orchard of 700 trees and over 250 rose bushes. I do not drink or smoke. My hobbies are quilting, bridge and classical music. I am a practising Anglican. Having lived alone on a farm, I am not nervous of a rural environment and I am good at dealing with emergencies - or finding someone to assist me. I can provide references.
(Sorry but we are fully booked for the rest of 2017) Hi, my husband and I are recently retired teachers 61 and 62 who have lived and worked in the same area for 32 years. Of course as teachers we had regular police checks and we can also provide references. After retirement we went to Canada, Hawaii, Far North Queensland and Tasmania. Yes we have caught the travel bug! We are friendly, reliable and caring and now that our children have grown up and our beloved pets passed away we are rattling around our house with time on our hands. As a retired couple we are available for any length of time and we can plan to house sit everywhere in Australia for the next 12 months to 24 months after which time we hope our children will provide us with grandchildren to spoil. As my husband Ross is a very keen fisherman we try for locations close to good fishing areas. We love animals and we always look after all our friends and neighbours pets, houses, gardens and mail when they are away. One of them suggested pet and house sitting as it involves travelling, animals and gardening! We will take meticulous care of your house, mail, indoor plants, veggie gardens and lovingly look after dogs, cats, birds, fish, chooks, rabbits and guinea pigs. We are more than happy to be in touch with you prior to the pet and house sit and we can also give you updates during your trip so get in touch with us any time to discuss your needs and travel dates as we can accommodate our time to suit your needs. We prefer the northern areas of Australia during the winter months and we are looking forward to a visit to New Zealand in 2018. Ross is a keen fisherman and gardener, I adore reading and writing and tend to be more of a home body and we both really enjoy seeing new sights and meeting new people. You can leave knowing we will take extremely good care of your pets, house and garden and while you’re away. Ross and I are looking forward to getting to know you and giving your pets our love and attention. Prior to handover we would prefer a written list of your requirements and instructions including your mobile number and email address so we can make contact and get to know each other prior to your trip. We know the importance of trust in this relationship and can assure you of our honesty and love of animals, in fact we have found the hardest part of pet sitting is saying goodbye to the pets because we grow so fond of them. Jo and Ross Tanner
Hi, I am a 55-year-old professional looking for house sitting opportunities in Melbourne and nearby rural areas. I have extensive experience house-sitting and can provide references from many house-sits (25 sits to-date) as well as a national police check.I own a family home in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and have owned a number of homes over the past 20 years. My family has always had pets - dogs, cats, rabbits, fish - and caring for yours and showing them the appropriate amount of care and affection would be a pleasure. My profession is writing and I have a flexible work schedule that allows me to spend my days either working from home or from a city-based office depending on requirements and my preference. That means I can often be around the house during the day to keep pets company and ensure your home is occupied from a security perspective. I have worked for the one company for 20 years - which I guess demonstrates a stable (not boring!) professional life.I am a non-smoker, light drinker, clean living guy who likes a quiet lifestyle. I'm also a bit of a fitness fanatic, which means walking energetic dogs is a joy. I'm very security conscious and like to keep things clean and tidy. I'm quite comfortable with pets that need lots of attention having looked after a Jack Russell in his senior years with daily medication, a strict food regime and plenty of pampering. Our family cat also likes plenty of attention - but only when it suits her! You will find me to be a reliable house-sitter who is very respectful of your property and committed to exceeding your expectations.Look forward to hearing from you.Philip
We are a responsible, trustworthy, non-smoking freelance/semi-retired couple with plenty of common sense, responsibility and reliability. We are German born with Australian Permanent Residency/European Citizenship. We both have/had responsible positions in our careers. Reiner enjoyed a managing position for over 15 years at a renowned Public Health Insurance in Duisburg and I was the Managing Director of an Interior Design Company and the owner of a reputable and successful Home and Giftware store with several employees in Sydney. We are currently enjoying some time-out and are possessed by the traveling bug and welcome this alternate lifestyle of housesitting around the world. As we have more time for ourselves and do the things we truly enjoy, we also have the flexibility to travel with or without our caravan (in Europe) and also do the things we really love doing, like walking, riding bicycles, yoga, meditation reading, cooking, crafting, listening to music...We aim to take a professional approach to housesitting and would like to undertake a variety of housesit assignments around the world. We have many years of travel experience and are easily and quickly comfortable elsewhere. We would feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to housesit in different countries and experience their history and culture and learning a new language is always great fun. Housesitting enables us to experience diverse areas and cultures and getting to know the community we live in.We have both been brought up surrounded by pets and they played a huge part of our life and they have been treated like family members. Our travelling lifestyle precludes us from having our own pets so we particularly love to spoil your beautiful two or four legged family members that we have entrusted to our care. As we are new to the housesitting community we would very much welcome the opportunity for us to sit. We are an open minded couple and our time traveling throughout Europe with our Caravan has been introducing us to our nomadic life style. Although we are new to the concept of ‘house-sitting’ we regularly find ourselves taking care of the pets of our camping neighbours and spoiling their dogs and cats with cuddles or walk or sit them.We feel that housesitting is home away from home. We look after everything as we would if the house was our own. We both own properties and have a good common sense of how and what to be taken care of. We have renovated our own properties and landscaped our gardens so we can put our hands to most things should the need arise in an emergency. We know that it may be worrying for you to leave your pets and home; we are very conscious of this and we will make sure that we communicate regularly by email or to reassure you that all is well. We recognize the importance of selecting the right house-sitters to look after your home, pets and garden. We are genuine animal lovers and having pets to look after is a pleasure for us. We are also house proud and we will keep your house and garden looking clean and tidy and maintained in good condition for your return. We can provide police check and any other information you may wish to know upon request. Happy to Skype also as introduction and a way to get to know us more upfront.Do contact us as we are always happy to discuss your individual house-sitting needs. Kind regards,Christina & Reiner

Hi! I'm Pia, a University student from Melbourne. I am interested in house sitting as from my wide experience of academics at various Universities in Australia and the UK, I find that our environment can truly impact our perspective (even simply a different house), and I endeavour to experience as many perspectives as possible. I am an immaculate perfectionist in work and life, with a penchant for order and tidiness. I am highly responsible, having cared for homes myself before and also having lived overseas (I am very house-proud). I have experience with a range of animals, including dogs and horses. I would look after your home without considering it to be work - I want it to be a great experience for you to come home! Looking for homes within an hour or two of Melbourne, preferably with starting dates ASAP. References available upon request.
We are early retirees who began our house-sitting in early December 2016. Prior to that we were house-sitting my sister's house in Cairns & decided we would like to experience lots of different areas of Australia as residents rather than as tourists. The animals we enjoy and have experience with are dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chooks and birds. However since our elderly dog died in December 2012, we have not taken on any new pets, as we retired shortly afterwards and took to some short-term travelling. We are clean and tidy and are both non-smokers and non-drinkers. My husband is a carpenter and licensed builder, also a keen runner and pushbike rider and I enjoy long walks. We can provide references if requested.
Graeme & I are a retired couple, continuing our Australia wide travels and are now heading towards South Australia. We recently house sat at a place called "WALLAN", VICTORIA. Before that at:- "LOCHINVAR", near Maitland/Hunter Valley/Newcastle and at:-Beechwood, nr. Wauchope/Port MacQuare. We do have reference etc., if required. We have our own 30ft Fifth Wheeler, so are quite self-contained. Just require power and water. We have done house sitting in the past and also caretaking positions. One was in Tasmania, some years ago, for 12 mths. We were caretakers, for the South United Football Club, at Runcorn, Qld, for eighteen months and lived on site. We also, have recently been caretakers, for a property at Cleveland, Qld, before we left, to head off. If you wish further information, in regards, to the above, please do not hesitate, to let me know. My husband was a self-employed carpenter, for many years, but recently was a truck driver/delivery man. I have been a Property Manager and then a Senior Property Manager, for many years and most recently, for nearly 12 years, for a Company, in Sunnybank Hills, Qld, so I know all about looking after properties, like they were your own. We did have a 10 acre property, as Jimboomba, which we have sold.We do have one, wells supervised dog, called Sally. We also have a mature, female cockatiel and we love bird watching and nature, in general. Kind regards, Louise and Graeme Cox.
Meet the world’s most houseproud housesitter! I’m a 39 yo single female experienced housesitter, who loves the domestic life of home, pets and garden. A true homebody and animal lover, I will spend most nights reading and curled up on the couch with furry friends. Why choose me to look after your home?* Your house and your pets are among the most precious things in life, so you need to know you’re entrusting them to someone who cares as much as you do. * I’m a 39 yo single female, quiet homebody. No entertaining. No parties. No coming and going at all hours.* Non-smoker. Non-drinker.* Heaps of experience. I have plenty of homeowners who came home to immaculate homes and happy pets who can provide references.* I LOVE everything domestic. I’m probably one of the most houseproud sitters you’ll ever meet. I adore cleanliness and order and will treat your home with the same care and respect that I do my own. * Huge animal lover! Because I’m unable to have my own pets, I usually end up best buds with the pets I care for and shower with attention (or not, if they prefer!)* Garden lover. I spend every moment I can outside enjoying nature and greenery, and love the relaxation of tending gardens.* I work for myself, so I’m home most of the time to provide lots of companionship for pets used to company, and security for your home.I house sit to save money and travel. I look forward to talking to you about your housesitting and pet care needs.
IntroductionWe are a mature and friendly retired couple, professional, practical and resilient in new situations, and look forward to new homes and pets to care for. We are non smokers, tidy, active, gardeners, and keen to explore new communities. We have already enjoyed 5 house and pet sits both in Australia and overseas with another organisation in the last year, with excellent references. We appreciate Happy House Sitters because it it has such a range of Australia wide clients, and is easy to access. We would take care of your home and pets, as we would our own, and keep them safe and happy until you return. Why we want to house sitHouse and pet sitting is appealing because of the built in adventure and novelty of such diverse opportunities. We have enjoyed much travel in Australia and overseas, ship, caravan, camping, coast, desert and bush, but would look forward to the interest of connecting with the everyday life in new communities. Many sits give insight to the places less travelled, rather than big tourism locations, and Mike is a keen historian where ever we are.0ur creatures are an essential part of life, but the extra additions to the 'family', "step grand-dogs,cats..and one day hopefully, alpacas!!'', will have all the love and care we can give in the allocated time! What we bring to the assignment / relevant experienceWe have lived in city and country, in town houses and on acreages, and had donkeys, dogs, cats, chooks, and sheep! Our experience in education, country and city communities, gardening, house repairs, and dealing with the emergencies of life, makes us useful Sitters! Having a good sense of humor helps too.We have police checks, and house sitting references. We currently have an old beagle/terrier x, Maggie May, a dear rescue dog, who, as we speak, is snuffling her way through seaweed and beach sand! We love our entertaining chooks, and their produce! Harry the Cat sadly left us after 12 years of slothful existence! Do contact us if your place and pets seem like a good match!
Dear Home Owners,I have been house sitting for a number of years now and I thoroughly enjoy taking care of other's homes, pets and gardens when it is necessary for them to be away traveling for work or leisure. I have also completed house sitting in Castlemaine, a small city located in Victoria's Goldfield's region, approximately 170km from Melbourne, and the beautiful Macedon, approximately 62km from Melbourne. Apart from house sitting in Victoria I have also done some house sitting in Bridgeman Downs, in Brisbane.I have lived a rural lifestyle and taken care of many animals while doing so. For the past 22 years I have lived in Mildura and I have worked part time as a Canteen Assistant and a Library Assistant. After 15 years of working at a secondary school and a primary school and 4 daughters growing up, moving away and getting on with their own lives, I am now taking on some more Library Study as a mature aged Off Campus student and I am therefore able to travel around and experience some new places.I am a non smoker and I have some documents for home owner's to have a look at to get to know me a little better. I am semi retired and would love the opportunity of looking after your pets, home and garden whilst you are away.I am extremely fit and active for my age, and I am a non-smoker.I would like to house sit as I enjoy discovering local communities and prefer to avoid hotels and busy resorts. I would rather find a relaxing place to retreat to.I am a keen gardener and have a genuine love of animals. I have owned a number of cats over the years and my second language is now “CAT”. To be perfectly honest I’m not sure that I owned a cat really, perhaps it should be the other way round. Nevertheless it’s always been enjoyable.I am highly reliable, considerate & respectful and will take excellent care of your home and pets.Your home will be kept neat and tidy at all times, inside and out, and will be left in the same condition as you left it.I would love to house and pet sit for you, and if you require any further information don't hesitate to contact me and I will be only to glad to assist you in any way I can.Looking forward to hearing from you.

Ready for a move but am uncertain about where that will take me, I'd enjoy house sitting in a range of locations to get a feel for a new area.Currently working from home, though usually visit clients one or two afternoons a week. For the most part I enjoy exploring new areas on foot, though I do have a car as it is required for my work. Love most animals of the furry kind, but do not currently have my own pet due to Landlord restrictions. I am familiar with caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and birds, having had my own pets in the past and helping extended family with theirs.I look forward to caring for your house and pets in a manner in which they are accustomed.I am just beginning my house sitting journey and look forward to getting to know some new neighbourhoods. While I am waiting for a current police check to be processed, know that I have a current Working with Children check, that includes regular police checks.
I am a mature (60yrs) fit,non-smoking male, I love all animals and have had a cat , Budiges and Border collie dogs in the past.I dont have any pets at the moment so i look forward to looking after yours. Hi there, I am in my early thirties and have lots of pet sitting and house sitting experience. I absolutely love looking after cats and dogs and apart from pet sitting, I have also volunteered at my local animal shelter in the past. I have had a wonderful time thus far, looking after some of the most adorable pets in Melbourne and would like to continue doing so till I foster or adopt pets of my own. In the meantime, I am happy to take on short term assignments as well as those that span over a couple of months. I work close to Melbourne CBD and hence, would need to consider that commute when looking for house sits (unless it is on the weekend). You can rest assured that your beloved fur babies and house will be in good hands while you are away. Happy to provide references!
*** 2017 Availability: 1 Oct onwards *** Preferred area: Melbourne and surrounds, Victoria.Hello! I'm a responsible and house proud non-smoker with a vast array of house-sits under my belt - from inner city flats to a Tasmanian farmhouse. I am house sitting long term to save for my own home, and have had over three years of house sits almost back-to-back. Many house sits have come through the Happy House Sitters website.I enjoy gardening and love the company of animals. I’ve looked after dogs, cats, birds, chickens and even sheep as part of my house-sits. You can be assured that your home will be kept clean and tidy. As a freelance writer and marketer, I often work from home and I think this adds an advantage of “lived-in security” to a property, not to mention extra time with the pets!A police check and excellent references are available on request.Ideally I’m after long term house-sits (1 month +) but will definitely consider shorter term options.

Hi, I'm Dan. I'm a 35 year old honest, reliable, homebody who loves dogs.I began house sitting and dog minding four years ago, when I looked after a beautiful labrador for two months while her owners were overseas. After a few years of house sitting occasionally, I began doing this full time in August 2016 and am loving being able to spend time with some fun dogs and having the freedom to live a more relaxed, healthy lifestyle.I'm experienced with a range of small to large breeds, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. I will happily give your dog plenty of love and attention - I love going for long walks, playing games like tug-of-war, giving lots of pats, snuggling on the couch and I don't mind having dogs sleep on my bed if that's what they're used to.I'm mature, clean and tidy, and am a non-smoker. I'm not much of a party animal, and prefer quiet nights at home catching up on my favourite TV shows or working on my laptop.I'm able to provide a police check and references from previous house sits. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions, I'm happy to answer them!
