We are a retired couple whose home is in the UK but spend nearly half the year ( Dec-April) in Australia. We love animals but can’t have any of our own at the moment due to travelling and would love to share and care for someone else’s. We are fit, active, clean and tidy and keen gardeners. I grew up with dogs and David with cats and foster a friends two dogs when they want a break. We have no experience with chooks but are keen to learn. We have spent most of our UK winters (Australian summers) in Australia since our retirement, mostly in South Australia where we have family. Although we have seen many parts of Australia on various holidays we are keen to stay in one place for longer to get to know the community, its people and it’s culture. We are very fit and active. We belong to golf clubs both in the UK and in Australia. We enjoy walking and T’ai Chi. We both sing with Sing Australia and I sing with two choirs in the UK. We both enjoy folk, jazz and classical music. I also enjoy pastel painting and, when I’m lucky, I sell a few. I go to the gym regularly and also read and knit a lot. David enjoys cycling and walking and is a keen philatelist and numismatist. We cannot offer references as we have never house sat before but we can provide testimonials and/or supply names and contact details of people who will give references. I have had numerous police checks in the UK (every three years) due to my nursing, health visiting and child protection work but not one that is currently up to date. David was an accountant/auditor. We really want to see and experience more of Australia and plan to be in Australia from the beginning of December until the middle of April.

I HAVE BEEN BOOKED UNTIL JAN 13.
Hello, I am a retired primary teacher. I have a current police check and am experienced at house-minding. I think you will be reassured by my references; these I am happy to email to you. I am a non-smoker. I am used to dogs and cats and fully appreciate that you would want first class minding of your pets. Through this site, over the years, I have minded about 12 homes, some repeat visits. If I mind your home you can be assured that it will be properly cared for.

Lucy c
I have known Mr George Carlyle for many years. During that time I have called upon George to look after my house and garden during my trips interstate or overseas on a number of occasions. George has always been reliable, trustworthy and looked after my place/s very well. I have no hesitation in recommending him to others who need someone to fulfil other such roles, and would be happy to verify my experiences with him as house-sitter and garden carer.
I have also referred him to friends of mine (in Northcote and for a three-month stint in France where pets were cared for as well). All reported being very satisfied with George's involvement.

21 Showers Street
Preston, Vic 3072
To whom it may concern,
I have known George Carlyle for the past six years and felt confident to ask him to look after my property last year. My wife and I travelled overseas for three months and were keen to get someone in to look after the place. We asked George because of his responsible and sensible manner.
I have absolutely no hesitations in recommending George as a house /home sitter as he looked after our place brilliantly which made our trip all the more enjoyable.
Yours Sincerely
Marty F

To Whom it may concern.
I have known George Carlyle for about 30 years. In this time George has always been a person with high standards with a genuine concern for community. George has always shown great respect to any items that he owns or have been left in his care. I feel sure this would be equally reflected in any property that was placed in his possession. As the owner of a beachside property, I have no hesitation in allowing George full, and unlimited access whenever it is available. And have always found it to be left in excellent condition. I have absolutely no hesitation in putting my name forward as a reference in George’s search for house, and honestly believe that any landlord could not get a better tenant.

I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy. My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything. I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements. I do have references on this site, from previous happy pet owners. Hope we can assist each other .

We are experienced housesitters and non-smokers who ran our company from Western Australia until our retirement in June 2012.
Our daughter who is a vet nurse introduced us to nursing many neglected RSPCA dogs back to health whilst awaiting new owners whilst we resided in Perth.
Over the past six years we have house sat for many families caring for dogs, cats, turtles, chickens, birds, horses and Alpacas (not the nicest of animals). We even have past experience caring for a baby ring tailed possum and a juvenile Rainbow Lorikeet, we keep adding to our list.
We love animals, are very house proud and above all, we are reliable and dependable.
Upon selling our Perth home and business we traveled overseas and bought a large boat which we have lived on for 6 months of each year followed by travels in our caravan and visits to family in Melbourne. From time to time we require a "pet fix" and as our lifestyle doesn't suit pet ownership, house sitting is a great compromise.
We are currently awaiting the sale of our boat before heading overseas again in 2019.
We are now fully booked for sits in Melbourne until Jan 25th 2019 but will consider offers after this through to mid April 2019.
We have great written references which are available upon request. If you are interested please give us a call or respond to this message.
Regards,
Christine and Graham

I am a mature, responsible and highly conscientious 53 year old lady who is currently on her seventh successful house sit. My 15 year old daughter and I are well-travelled and highly respectful people that adore animals and find we easily establish rapport with them. We often become the ‘aunties’ to our new fur friends on our house sits. We will treat your home and fur babies with lots of care, love and attention. You can be assured you can holiday with no worries at all about your home and your pets. We lead a healthy lifestyle and are clean living and non smoking. I only work online , so can give your fur babies lots of love and attention. I am a friendly, healthy, happy person that is easy to get along with. I do have a unique gift with animals, they almost always like me on first sight, which says a lot about a person. We are currently house sitting as we love the freedom and lifestyle it gives us ( we have a base in Redcliffe, a small cottage) and as we no longer have dogs or cats of our own, just love looking after other peoples. My daughter is very mature for her age and is a lovely person with masses of compassion for animals.
We are more then happy to supply references if you require them, both from house sitting, work, school and personal.
I really hope you consider us as we believe you’ll be very happy with us.

Hi, my name is Julie. I am a happy, healthy semi-retired animal lover, who is mature and reliable. I own a small business that I run from my desktop. As a house sitter, this means that I can provide a constant presence to watch over your home and give your pets the same company, care and attention that you would yourself. I am available to sit right across Australia.

In addition to running my own small business, I have also managed a faculty across three campuses and been a busy travel agent and tour guide in my working life. Employers have entrusted me with valuable assets, large sums of money and the well-being of other people. I am reliable, trustworthy and well organised; mature but young at heart.

At home, I keep a very tidy house. I actually enjoy the comfortable routines of housekeeping and seeing the house look as neat as a pin. I never move anything, I am very respectful of a homeowner's space. When you return, you'll find everything just as you left it.

In addition to taking good care of home and beloved pets, I am happy to look after mail, provide regular updates and all the other things that will give you peace of mind while you are away. I keep in touch regularly by sending messages and pics of your little ones, as any of my referees will attest. I love gardening, am handy with a mower and all the day to day maintenance needed to keep outdoor areas looking great.

I am free to travel on flexible dates and take up long or short assignments.
I am health conscious without being obsessive, enjoy exercise and am a non smoker.
I have a police check and references. You will be able to call and verify references. These contacts can be provided on request.

"Julie looked after our house, our old blue heeler, our cat and 3 chooks for around two weeks whilst we were overseas in March 2015. We came home to a lovely clean house and very happy and well looked after pets. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Julie and would certainly love her to look after our house again" - Sharon Vincent Batemans Bay NSW 2536

CLEAN AND TRUSTWORTHY HOUSE/PET CARER
My name is Peta and I enjoy housesitting and looking after peoples pets while I save to buy a home of my own. I have many years of experience in house/pet minding as in the past I have filled this role in between stints overseas. I am kind, reliable and feel very strongly about caring for our environment. I keep healthy and fit and walk every morning. I work as a children's photographer and two days a week as a nanny for three hours. I mostly work on the computer at home, editing footage and updating my photo blog, except for the nanny work and a few 2hour photoshoots per week.

I am very competent and will be happy to take on any extra needs your property or pets may require. I will collect your mail and check on your neighbours!

I also do pet portraits.

Please feel welcome to send me a message or call me if you think I may be what you are looking for and we can arrange to meet. I am happy to travel to wherever is most convenient to you.

Hi! I am a 25 yo graphic designer. I am available to house sit as I still live at home with my parents saving to buy a house but it can get a bit stagnant at times so I would love to change up my scenery.

I have a Jack Russell living at home and have always been around cats and dogs. I work in Fitzroy and in Moorabbin alternating days in two different offices. And sometimes work from home instead.

I'm a non smoker and not a party animal, my nights and weekends are usually spent doing more freelance design work. Your home & pets will all be well looked after and treated with respect. I'm happy to water plants, take garbage out/in, feed & excercise pets as per all usual routines and also keep the outside tidy, leaves out of pool, skimmer boxes, etc.

I am semi retired and would love the opportunity of looking after your pets, home and garden whilst you are away.
I am extremely fit and active for my age, and I am a non-smoker.
I would like to house sit as I enjoy discovering local communities and prefer to avoid hotels and busy resorts. I would rather find a relaxing place to retreat to.
I am a keen gardener and have a genuine love of animals. I have owned a number of cats over the years and my second language is now “CAT”. To be perfectly honest I’m not sure that I owned a cat really, perhaps it should be the other way round. Nevertheless it’s always been enjoyable.

I am highly reliable, considerate & respectful and will take excellent care of your home and pets.
Your home will be kept neat and tidy at all times, inside and out, and will be left in the same condition as you left it.
I would love to house and pet sit for you, and if you require any further information don't hesitate to contact me and I will be only to glad to assist you in any way I can.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi I’m Emma, a 29 year old single female from Melbourne. I currently work part time in retail and am also a qualified dietitian. I have started house and pet sitting as a way to experience living in different areas of Melbourne and helping to save for travelling overseas.

I love being around and taking care of animals. I grew up in Melbourne having family dogs, and I recently helped look after my previous housemates cat Theodore (pictured). I would give him lots of love and cuddles and tend to his kitty litter when she was out for the night/weekend and during her recent month long trip to America. I also love looking after my friends gorgeous dogs Darcy and Luna from time to time (also pictured), taking them for lots of walks which they love!
I have looked after a few houses and pets now through the House sitters website and am loving the experience!

I have lived in a few sharehouses so am well practised at keeping a clean house, collecting mail and keeping the plants alive and watered. I also have my own reliable car. I am happy to fit in with your pets routines, give them lots of love and cuddles, walks and keep you updated with photos.

Look forward to hearing from you! :)

**Please note I am already booked over the Christmas and New Year period. Enjoy the silly season and your holidays**

Hi!!!

I'm a 33 yo Graphic Designer who has been freelancing running my small business for the last 5 years.
In a sea of pet sitting profiles, I decided to use a sense of humor with my one - I hope it makes you smile :)
I can work anywhere there is a wifi connection (or I can bring my own, no problems).
So this means your pets will always have company and cuddles.
I have no children and no pets and am a completely free agent. No sit is too long or too short.

I like to keep fit, so daily walks are always guaranteed. And always happy to venture out on the weekends for adventures to park walks or the beach.
I have my own car so getting around isn't an issue.
A Gippsland girl at heart - I have always been brought up in a household full of animals - whether it's dogs, cats, fish, bunnies, cows, donkeys, chickens - you name it.
I'll look after it. I love to listen to music and cook. I love to read and pursue my business/passion projects - so you'll always find me behind my mac most nights.
I love hiking and getting outdoors. I don't smoke and like to have the occasional glass of red.

I would really love to have a pet of my own - but as I am renting this isn't possible. So I'd love to look after yours.
My friends even bought me a french bulldog pillow to fill the void- I've called him George and he currently guards my couch.

My rental is has 3 balconies full of plants so am happy to be your green thumb too. I treat and respect my house like my own and have always had long-term rentals of 5+ years, with full back and front yards. I was always the gardener in the household and a lot of pride in presentation and cleanliness.
I have been criticised for being too clean - so I'll make sure your home is in the same condition as you left it.
Happy to always meet face to face before you go away for a coffee.

I think petsitting is a great way to experience different areas of Victoria.
It's also a great way to meet fellow animal lovers like myself and as a barefoot investor, I think this is a great way to save for those financial goals.
If this sounds like we match - let's get in touch. Go and enjoy yourself while you are away and I'll take care of the rest!

About me:
I am an experienced house and pet sitter that enjoys taking care of pets and seeing new places. I enjoy the opportunity and friendships that house sitting brings. I don’t have my own pets so I really enjoy spending time with the animals while house sitting. I am a trustworthy, responsible, clean and non-smoking Australian male (37). I have a lot of house and pet sitting experience. I am reliable, practical, and easy to get along with. Your pets and home will be extremely well looked after by a capable person. I am a serious house sitter, one that does what they say they will do.

I am currently completing my post graduate studies in Psychology. I have dedicated my career to helping people get through hard times and become the best version of themselves. I am off campus so I study from home and this allows for additional time with the pets and keeping an eye on the house. This is part of why I have decided to do house sitting. The other reason is that I really enjoy it! I enjoy the variety of living in new places and meeting new and interesting people such as you! House sitting provides an enjoyable and adventurous lifestyle for me.
I have a current national police security check. In my work I have gained security clearances at the highest level that have allowed me to work at government sites such as ports, airports, government offices and defence sites which you need to have a clean record to obtain. I hope this indicates to you my trustworthiness. I have my own car and am independent in my style of living.

Pets I have looked after:
I go above and beyond with pet care. I love all types of animals and have looked after almost everything you could find in a backyard. This includes mostly dogs, cats and budgies, but also parrots, stick-insects, lizards, snakes, horses, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, hermit crabs and even a tarantula! I do my best to not disrupt your pet’s routines so I feed them and walk them as close as possible to the same time that you do. I am happy to spend extra time with needy animals that get upset when their owners are away. I always make sure all pets eat enough each day. I also can administer medicines, worming tablets if need be. Any special dietary requirements are catered for and an extra walk or games no problem at all. In the case of an emergency, I will contact you and drive your pet immediately to your preferred vet.

I have looked after many rescue cats and understand they can sometimes need extra time and affection. From 2013-2015, I saved, reared and fostered 21 stray kittens at my house. They all were tamed, vaccinated, micro chipped, de-sexed and found happy homes!

Types of houses I have looked after:
I have experience looking after large multi storey homes with extensive gardens and pools, houses on acreage, normal size family homes and small apartments.

Extra things I can do:
If you like I am happy to send you email or text updates on the house and pets so that you know everything is ok and see how your furry friends are going.
Clean the pool if you have one.
Mow the lawn and water the gardens.
I will collect the mail every day and If you like I can forward you any important mail via email if you need me too.
Put out/bring in the garbage bins
Start car if needed to prevent battery going flat (please note I have my own car and would not drive yours).
I leave the house fully cleaned before you come back so that you arrive to a fresh tidy home. This includes the pool and gardens. I can also mow the lawn if you need it.
I can also pick up some groceries before you come home so you can take it easy when you arrive. Most people like to come home to fresh milk, bread and juice.

A quick note
I also prefer that we have a written agreement that outlines my duties with detailed instructions, vet contact, trusted person or family member contact (if you are overseas), authority to be in the house while your away (Id like it if the neighbours don’t think I am squatting in your house!) and any other things that may be needed to be carried out around the house.

I am happy to send you some references if you request.

If I sound like the type of house or pet sitter that you would like then please contact me.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes
Brett

Dear Home Owners,
I have been house sitting for a number of years now and I thoroughly enjoy taking care of other's homes, pets and gardens when it is necessary for them to be away traveling for work or leisure. It is my belief that if home owner's know their pets and homes are being cared for they are able to go ahead with their plans in a relaxed manner.
I have done house sitting in a number of suburbs in Melbourne; Hampton, Mont Albert North, Kew East, Glen Huntly and Collingwood.. I have also completed house sitting in Castlemaine, a small city located in Victoria's Goldfield's region, approximately 170km from Melbourne, and the beautiful Macedon, approximately 62km from Melbourne. Apart from house sitting in Victoria I have also done some house sitting in Bridgeman Downs, Strathpine and Geebung in Brisbane. I have lived a rural lifestyle and taken care of many animals while doing so.
For the past 23 years I have lived in Mildura and I have worked part time as a Canteen Assistant and a Library Assistant, between 1998 - 2013 and 4 daughters growing up, moving away and getting on with their own lives,
I am a non smoker and I have some documents for home owner's to have a look at to get to know me a little better. Documents for home owners can be found in my References, as well as my Police Check, current Licence and my Passport.

  • ACT, NSW, SA, TAS, VIC, WA

Hi I'm Lane.

I'm a quiet, considerate, creative type who loves running, writing, mindfulness, and minimalism. I have a reliable, new car and I love road-trips near or far. I'm a healthy, single, non-smoker and a quiet, clean house sitter. I'm a relaxed soul with high emotional intelligence and I'm a born-and-bred animal lover — dogs, cats, goats, chooks, and more.

I was raised country-style — on dirt roads and tank water, with ticks, leeches, and acres and acres of freedom — so I'm competent and well versed in country life. These days I have my own digital creative business which affords me the luxury of working from where ever I choose. So I'm not a house-sitter who's looking for a free roof; I'm a self-sufficient soul looking to experience life in lots of locations and to meet lots of people along the way. I only need Internet to work and I bring my own if required. I love running through the mountains, along trails, and beachside so locales like these are bonuses for me.

Bonuses for you is that I work from "home" so I'm always on-hand and ready to deal with any situations that might arise at your home. After-all your home is my home while you're away, and I take that responsibility very seriously.

Feel free to call, text, or email me anytime.

Always,
Lane

Hi my name is Erika,

I am a Sonographer (does ultrasounds) and Nurse currently working and travelling around Australia.

I am a responsible, clean and considerate 37year old. I do not smoke.
I grew up on a dairy farm where we also had horses, dogs, rabbits and of course cows so I love animals and being outdoors.
I like to keep busy and don’t mind getting my hands dirty so gardening, walking and feeding animals isn’t a chore.

I am very house proud and will look after your home as I do my own.

I have police clearance and references available upon request.

I am a non- smoking, vegetarian(so no fatty cooking smells in house).
Am respectful of other`s property and have house sat friends and family .`s properties.

I grew up with boxers as the house dog, my last two were a Gordon Setter and a Beagle/Foxhound.They departed at ages 14 and 12 after long and happy lives.
I have shared my home with assorted cats,Spotted Tabbies, moggies,etc.(which used to follow me around the paddocks as I went for an evening stroll!}
I have also been involved in rounding up sheep, assisting difficult lambings and have reared 2 lambs whose mother had quads and she claimed 2 abandoned the other 2.They were happily reunited later.

I am looking forward to helping you!

;We are a happy quiet living couple in our early fifties. We have sold the house and business and have decided to take time out. As we are both animal lovers, we have found house sitting is the perfect option for us. We have had many dogs (large and small), cats, horses, birds and farm animals over the years so we know we can look after your pets as if they were our own. Our pets have always been part of the family. We both love walking so taking your dogs for a walk (short or long) every day is right up our alley. As keen gardeners we can also take care of your plants. We are both extremely reliable and honest and very clean and tidy. We have been house sitting for 2 years full time nd have excellent references and police checks which can be provided on request. We are keen to connect with you so you can holiday in peace knowing your house and pets are in good hands. Both non smokers.

Ngaire & Adam

  • ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC, WA

We are a close knit, fun loving little family of 3. Myself, Ngaire, I'm an Osteopath and own my business so need only be in the clinic 1 day a week, or sometimes not at all, and the rest of the time I can work from home. My husband, Adam, who works for a pharmaceutical company, and our 5 year old daughter Maeve, who just loves life, people, nature and animals.

In March 2018 we took off on an adventure around Australia for 6months, however we decided to rent our Essendon home out before then, and house sit full time for 7 months. Initially we thought we would return to our Essendon home following our trip, but we fell in love with house sitting! Meeting some wonderful people and forming great bonds with pets was a bonus we hadn't anticipated, and so we have chosen to continue house sitting indefinitely. We are non smokers, who take pride in our home and possessions, and care for anyone else's home like we would our own. We understand how it feels to trust someone else with your home and pets, and we take the responsibility seriously.

We are happy to care for your home, keep it neat and clean, do extra little jobs and you can trust that your house will be in the same great condition you left it upon your return. We love to explore as a family, and enjoy walking dogs or taking them out and about. We would be pleased to care for any animal in whatever they need.

Maeve is a gentle and kind 5year old who understands appropriate behaviour with pets of all types, and is very used to the house sitting lifestyle and the behaviour that is required. Obviously, we need to care only for animals who are comfortable with children, so that we make sure she is safe. She also understands caring for other people's property and is no problem in a home that hasn't been "child proofed". You won't even notice she has been there!

Previous house sitting roles have involved us caring for 3 dogs at a time, 4 cats and multiple fish in one house in the heat of summer. We are up to the challenge! We are also fine, with just a small dog who loves a cuddle, we are pretty flexible! Our experience also extends to chooks, rabbits and turtles.

We have looked after a number of homes with both pools and spas and are happy to maintain these for you with appropriate instruction for your specific requirements. Maeve is a very strong swimmer for her age, being used to both pools and and the ocean. Although we of course supervise her at all times, we have no concerns about her in a property with a pool.

As a family we love spending time exploring new places, having coffee with friends and just being together. We get out and about but also enjoy time at home so your pets would have company too. We love spending time at the beach, or catching the train to the city for an explore, and of course if there is a great park around, we love a play! We are a footy loving family, though we don't agree on our teams ;-).

We would love to hear from anyone looking for down to earth, relaxed but hard working people to care for your house or pets. We are open minded for any types of property.

We have police checks and references available (you will find many attached to our profile). Please feel free to contact us with any questions at all that you may have. We are so excited for the next chapter and the variety that house sitting brings and look forward to hearing from you!

I am a single, 61 year old, retired former public servant. I am financially secure, well educated and well travelled.
I try to run my life simple, peaceful and close to nature. I am a meditator and I practise yoga daily. I am very tidy and keep my surrounds clean and uncluttered. I clean the house I live in chemicals free as much as possible. I do nor smoke or drink, I do not gamble and I eat healthy and organic food.
I like gardening and growing my own vegetables. I find these activities very rewarding as well as therapeutic.
I like animals especially cats, which I find serene and independent and dogs for their fondness of humans. I enjoy relating and caring for them. In my younger days I spent time on farms in Poland and enjoyed a lot of interaction with other domesticated animals.
Following the sale of my last house in Suffolk Park in 2016 I have moved to house sitting.  So far I have looked after a variety of properties and animals: dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, fish, turtles, lorrikeets, cockatiels, goats, cattle, sheep, horses, alpacas and donkeys.
House sitting has been a wonderful and rewarding experience. It is a great way to see new parts of Australia and to give the owners freedom to travel by taking good care of their places. All my references show that my hosts were very happy with my sits.

Hello. I am a mature man, 55, non smoker and have been housesitting now for 18 months.

Whilst trying to get back on my feet again I feel that this would be a great opportunity to help out others and see parts of Melbourne that I have never experienced.

I have had pets all my life, and would look after yours as if they were my own.

I have renovated and kept neat and tidy a house so I would treat your property and possessions with the respect they deserve.

I am available as soon as required and would be delighted to look after your pets and home for you.

We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple.

We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.

Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia.
We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years!
We have, of course got references and a police check.

We have just ( April ) booked to visit our daughter in Sydney and will be there from the 9th Nov to 11th Dec in rented accommodation.

We will now not be in Australia before then but will be available from Dec 11th in the run up to, and over the Xmas period

We retired last year and chose to come to Australia and New Zealand for an extended holiday (up to 18 months). We love the outdoors and are hikers and birders. We traveled in New Zealand for six months and did three house sits there. Two of the three house sits were requests to us as a mature couple while we found the third location that fit with our travel schedule.

We are now in Australia for about twelve months and will house sit in the country or in the city. We will be focusing the next few months of our travels in the south and eastern states of Australia (NSW, SA, VIC, TAS). We are in NSW for September and on a house sit from the 9th to the 19th. We will then be in SA for October and on a house sit from the 1st to the 14th. TAS will be December and January and then to VIC in February.

We are a very tidy, non-smoking, healthy and responsible couple that will take good care of your pets, property and garden. Before leaving the United States, we house sat for one friend with two cats (one was a very timid cat) and another with a black lab that we walked daily. In New Zealand, we took care of dogs, cats, fish, chooks and a cockatiel (see our endorsements). We have thoroughly enjoyed our house sits so far. The dogs loved their play time and walks. The dogs, cats and even the cockatiel loved their cuddles and neck rubs. Of course, meeting some of the locals has also been a pleasure.

With our stays at Airbnb's, the reviews are all positive where the hosts mention how we have left their place tidy; taken good care of their Airbnb and welcome us back anytime.

While living in the United States, we had an organic vegetable garden where we grew a variety of vegetables from seed. We also created a flower garden to attract the bees, butterflies and birds. Since we are not able to have a veggie garden while on the road, checking out farmers markets during our travels have been on our agenda whenever available.

We are having a great time as we leisurely travel “Down Under.”
Cheers!

Hi,

Our names are Nicola and Nige and we are big animal lovers! We are available to housesit whilst we look to settle back in Melbourne (my home town) after a period of work travel. Nige loves the outdoors as he comes from rural England. He grew up around farms and is comfortable with a wide variety of animals and temperaments, he also has a green thumb when it comes to tending to his veggie patch! I mainly work from home so can provide lots of love and attention to pets during the working day.

We would describe ourselves as calm, mature, nature loving, active, reliable, conscientious, ethical and eager to take care of your pets and your home with care and diligence.

We can supply references upon request and look forward to hearing from you!

Hello,

We are a non-smoking, mature aged couple who will look after your home and pets as if they were your own. We are willing to travel to most areas of Australia. At the moment we are looking for a house-sit in NSW, Victoria or Q'ld, but are willing to consider/travel other states. We are experienced house sitters, having done many sits over recent years including many return requests.

Our reasons for house sitting are simple. It gives us the opportunity of seeing different parts of this beautiful country, and it also to gives us the opportunity to provide the home owner with peace of mind that their home and animal/s will be extremely well cared for, should we be granted that privilege.

We take pride in what we do, being both neat and tidy. We enjoy a quiet life, are very capable, employ common sense and take care of things the way we would hope some-one would do for us.

We have cared for many different animals, cats (many varieties including Ragdoll, Himalayan, Russian Blue, Birman, Burmese, Siamese, much loved long haired and short haired moggies, all with different personalities and requirements, some indoor only felines), a few dogs both small and large, fish, chickens and cows a herd of 20+. In recent times we can add sheep and goats. We have looked after suburban properties and rural/semi-rural with water tanks and septic systems, pumps and bio-cycles.

We can provide excellent references upon request. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Available: from 20th Dec on. Pref Melbourne area. CBD, Northern & Eastern Suburbs, & Warragul. Am open to fly/drive anywhere else if costs covered. Pls enquire. Responsible & trustworthy 33yr old non-smoker. Worldwide housesitting exp, many great references & repeat clientele. I love having animals around me, especially adore cats and horses, and have a soft spot for well-behaved dogs. I am house-proud, & really enjoy every-day tasks of caring for a home as if it were my own. A scientist, ecologist then yacht-stewardess, I am not quite sure i have finished with travelling the world, but it sure is nice to come home for a while. Housesitting is a lifestyle choice, and one I am considering turning into a professional business in the near future (though i will endeavour to honour previous clientele whenever possible). As an animal lover, and a long-term traveller, I recognise the need for quality in-home care for pets, and the confidence that your most beloved companion is not just comfortable, but also genuinely loved whilst you are absent. Whilst my currently-nomadic life doesn't allow for my own pets, I take much pleasure in caring for your much-loved family pets in their home environment, knowing I am providing them with consistency in their routine and a comfy lap and scritches at their merest hint of the request. I am honest, careful, with a high attention to detail, respectful of your wishes & your property, have a police check & many references. Clients repeatedly tell me I go "above & beyond" and "exceeded their expectations." I do have extremely high standards, and go to great lengths to ensure your pet's every comfort & emotional need is met, and that your home is welcoming upon your return. *** BACKGROUND: I worked for a number of years as a scientist, saved and bought a townhouse in Melbourne, before deciding to see the world, pursuing my love of nature and animals by participating in various animal volunteer projects in Latin America for two years, then working as a yacht stewardess to supplement further travel throughout Europe. I have been lucky to housesit (and boatsit) caring for many different pets all throughout my travels, which in turn gave me with much-needed animal companionship and a place to care for as if it were my own.

***WHAT I DO: I have recently returned to Australia for the purposes of visiting my best friend and her new baby (in Warragul) and to exact some repairs upon my (currently tenanted) townhouse in Glenroy. At this time I am also researching various courses I am interested in pursuing (such as yoga-teacher training, and a diploma of veterinary sciences) as well as investigating the practicalities of starting my own professional pet-sitting business. As my personal projects offer me plenty to think about & research, I do not intend to work in this short time so I will have heaps of quality time to spend with your pets and be added security presence for your home. I enjoy my own time and quiet space, and am the sort of person who enjoys meditation and yoga, walking through parks & forests, playing with animals, quiet reflection, writing, and cooking fresh and nourishing meals. I do not take drugs, and am a firm NON-smoker who appreciates a smoke-free environment, so please do let me know if you are an inside smoker, so we can determine if this might affect our mutual suitability.

*** CLEAN & TIDY: I am an extremely clean and tidy person, (force of habit from working in the yachting industry) so I appreciate the same in my surroundings. Any effort you make to clean and tidy your home before you go will be returned in-kind as I always leave a home better than how I found it, and with more joy in my heart for doing so when it is obvious you take pride in it too.

*** REGULAR UPDATES: I have used Happy Housesitters in the past when I had to leave my own cat and home, so I totally understand how you feel & will keep you updated via email, facebook, whatsapp or Skype, as frequently as you wish, whilst you are away. The health and happiness of your pet, security of your home, and your peace-of-mind are my top priorities.

*** GREAT REFERENCES: I can provide great references upon request (many of my sits have been overseas and by word-of-mouth, so references have not been sent through the happyhousesitter site, though I have plenty), and am happy to meet either in person if possible or via Skype, before you commit so you can see if I will be the perfect fit for you & your pets.

*** EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE: I have experience with cats, dogs, horses, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, goats, fish, and birds. I am experienced & comfortable with administration of medicines, and small-med farm tasks. Please contact to discuss any requirements.

*** HAPPY, HEALTHY PETS: Finally, I love all animals and seek first and foremost to keep them comfortable and happy, healthy and enjoying life. No request to this end is ever too big or too small.
