Dear Home Owners,I have been house sitting for a number of years now and I thoroughly enjoy taking care of other's homes, pets and gardens when it is necessary for them to be away traveling for work or leisure. It is my belief that if home owner's know their pets and homes are being cared for they are able to go ahead with their plans in a relaxed manner.I have done house sitting in a number of suburbs in Melbourne; Hampton, Mont Albert North, Kew East, Glen Huntly and Collìngwood. I have also completed house sitting in Castlemaine, a small city located in Victoria's Goldfield's region, approximately 170km from Melbourne, and the beautiful Macedon, approximately 62km from Melbourne. Apart from house sitting in Victoria I have also done some house sitting in Bridgeman Downs, in Brisbane.I have lived a rural lifestyle and taken care of many animals while doing so. For the past 22 years I have lived in Mildura and I have worked part time as a Canteen Assistant and a Library Assistant. After 15 years of working at a secondary school and a primary school and 4 daughters growing up, moving away and getting on with their own lives, I am now taking on some more Library Study as a mature aged Off Campus student and I am therefore able to travel around and experience some new places.I am a non smoker and I have some documents for home owner's to have a look at to get to know me a little better. The following home owners are who I have completed house sitting for:Referees for House Sitting:1. Hello my name is Stephen and I am of mature age (approaching retirement). I am a very clean, tidy, hygienic and house proud person a non smoker and a social drinker. I have house/pet sit in Qld in Hervey Bay looking after Jackie a delightful female Shih Tzu . Another sit which was my second time around for the family was "Buddy" another Shih Tzu cross. I also sat for 2 lovely Whippets (Google & Pippa) in Echuca.I can supply police check and working with children qualifications as well as references. I will look after and care for your residence and animals as if our own and keep you up to date on your loved one's happiness and health as required. We are a close knit, fun loving little family of 3. Myself, Ngaire, I'm an Osteopath and own my business so need only be in the clinic 1 day a week, and the rest of the time I can work from home. My husband, Adam, who works for a pharmaceutical company, and our 3.5year old daughter Maeve, who just loves life, people, nature and animals. We will be taking off on an adventure around Australia in March 2018 for 6months, however we have decided to rent our home out before then, and house sit for 7 months, as we have previously had experience house sitting and loved it! At this stage, we will be available for sits any time between July 2017, and March 2018. We are non smokers, who take pride in our home and possessions, and care for anyone else's home like we would our own. We understand how it feels to trust someone else with your home and pets. We are happy to care for your home, keep it neat and clean, do extra little jobs and you can trust that your house will be in the same great condition you left it when you return. We love to explore as a family, and enjoy walking dogs or taking them out and about. We would be pleased to care for any animal in whatever they need. Maeve is a gentle and kind 3year old who understands appropriate behaviour with pets. Obviously, we need to care only for animals who are comfortable with children, so that we make sure she is safe. She also understands caring for other people's property and is no problem in a home that hasn't been "child proofed". You won't even notice she has been there! Previous house sitting roles have involved us caring for 2 dogs, 4 cats and multiple fish in one house in the heat of summer. We are up to the challenge! We are also fine, with just a small dog who loves a cuddle, we are pretty flexible! As a family we love spending time exploring new places, having coffee with friends and just being together. We get out and about but also enjoy time at home so your pets would have company too. We love spending time at the beach, or catching the train to the city for an explore, and of course if there is a great park around, we love a play! We are a footy loving family, though we don't agree on our teams ;-).We would love to hear from anyone looking for down to earth, relaxed but hard working people to care for your house or pets. We are open minded for any types of property. I am fully registered as an Osteopath, so of course have no criminal history, but we are more than happy to arrange police checks for anyone who requires it! Please feel free to contact us with any questions at all that you may have. We are so excited for the next chapter and the variety that house sitting brings and look forward to hearing from you!
I currently live and work in Melbourne, living in a share household. I house sit as I also enjoy having time to myself. I also love caring for pets. Over the past years I have sat on many occasions with many homeowners asking me back to sit for them. I will take really good care of your pets. I genuinely enjoy both cats and dogs. I Like taking dogs for walks and offering lots of affection. Same for cats too...except the walking. Will also take good care of your property and leave it in an excellent condition. I have excellent references. A police check. I don't smoke. I am a friendly respectful guy who is very clean and tidyCheers, Patrick

HelloMy husband and I are a retired English couple whose son is now living in Melbourne Victoria. We want to explore Australia with a view of emmigrating to Australia and we see house sitting as a way in which we could do this. Looking after someones house and or pets would help us get a real feel of the area. We have experience in looking after dogs and cats having had our own and looked after family members pets when they go on holidays. We are in our late 50's early 60's and are fit. We love walking and are houseproud, so would look after your home. My husband is very practical, a handyman around the house able to solve most maintainance issues. We could supply references if required however, communication between us, potential sitters and house owners will put both our minds at rest..We will be available from November 2017 until July 2018.We would be very interested in a housesit over the Xmas New Year that would be open to us inviting some of our family to stay over. We would be very responsible and respectful of your property and pets at this time.Roger and PhyllisI have attached below a character reference from my colleague at my place of work for 23 years. To whom it may concern.I have known Phyllis Austin in excess of 23 years both as a work colleague and as a friend. She was employed by Tesco Stores Limited in various managerial roles including Customer Service Manager responsible for the well being and training of over 120 staff, before ending up as a Compliance Manager in Newton Abbot store,This role involved ensuring that the store remained safe and legal at all times. This meant liaising with the rest of the management team from Store Manager down to make sure that they completed all of their legal training such as Health and Safety, Fire and Pest Control.During my time working with Phyllis she was always diligent and thorough and had a way of ensuring that everything was completed to tight timescales through her manner, encouraging others to do their best, and coaching/training whenever necessary. Part of her duties included being in charge of the store as a duty manager, and this task she completed with ease.I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any role that she applied for as I know that her integrity and honesty are second to none.If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.Paul FosterCustomer Experience ManagerNewton Abbot 2920This is a confidential email. Hi There! We are Mimi & Kurt and we have a great passion for travel, philanthropy work and are big animal lovers. We are planning towards opening our own animal shelter & adoption centre in the near future. We currently receive a steady income working online and this flexibility allows us to travel the world - generally for both volunteer work and leisure. However, no matter where we are we will always call Australia home :).We are huge foodies and love spending most of our time at home relaxing, cooking and cuddling up with any fur babies in our care. As we both work from home we can guarantee that all pets will have company 24/7. We have extensive experience looking after animals within the family as well as volunteering at the RSPCA in QLD. When we are not home we love spending time getting fit outdoors at parks or the beach. If your pet needs a lot of exercise we are definitely the right choice for you!We are very house-proud people and non-smokers who like to keep a very clean home. Kurt also has had many years of experience as a landscaper and as a result he will be able to tend to your garden and ensure it is maintained where required. We look forward to taking care of your home and pets! :)
We are a responsible, trustworthy, non-smoking freelance/semi-retired couple with plenty of common sense, responsibility and reliability. We are German born with Australian Permanent Residency/European Citizenship. We both have/had responsible positions in our careers. Reiner enjoyed a managing position for over 15 years at a renowned Public Health Insurance in Duisburg and I was the Managing Director of an Interior Design Company and the owner of a reputable and successful Home and Giftware store with several employees in Sydney. We are currently enjoying some time-out and are possessed by the traveling bug and welcome this alternate lifestyle of housesitting around the world. As we have more time for ourselves and do the things we truly enjoy, we also have the flexibility to travel with or without our caravan (in Europe) and also do the things we really love doing, like walking, riding bicycles, yoga, meditation reading, cooking, crafting, listening to music...We aim to take a professional approach to housesitting and would like to undertake a variety of housesit assignments around the world. We have many years of travel experience and are easily and quickly comfortable elsewhere. We would feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to housesit in different countries and experience their history and culture and learning a new language is always great fun. Housesitting enables us to experience diverse areas and cultures and getting to know the community we live in.We have both been brought up surrounded by pets and they played a huge part of our life and they have been treated like family members. Our travelling lifestyle precludes us from having our own pets so we particularly love to spoil your beautiful two or four legged family members that we have entrusted to our care. As we are new to the housesitting community we would very much welcome the opportunity for us to sit. We are an open minded couple and our time traveling throughout Europe with our Caravan has been introducing us to our nomadic life style. Although we are new to the concept of ‘house-sitting’ we regularly find ourselves taking care of the pets of our camping neighbours and spoiling their dogs and cats with cuddles or walk or sit them.We feel that housesitting is home away from home. We look after everything as we would if the house was our own. We both own properties and have a good common sense of how and what to be taken care of. We have renovated our own properties and landscaped our gardens so we can put our hands to most things should the need arise in an emergency. We know that it may be worrying for you to leave your pets and home; we are very conscious of this and we will make sure that we communicate regularly by email or to reassure you that all is well. We recognize the importance of selecting the right house-sitters to look after your home, pets and garden. We are genuine animal lovers and having pets to look after is a pleasure for us. We are also house proud and we will keep your house and garden looking clean and tidy and maintained in good condition for your return. We can provide police check and any other information you may wish to know upon request. Happy to Skype also as introduction and a way to get to know us more upfront.Do contact us as we are always happy to discuss your individual house-sitting needs. Kind regards,Christina & Reiner
I am a retired single male, age 67. Healthy, don't smoke or drink. Had a lot of contact with animals, enjoy the countryside and good at fixing things, can put up with the city for short periods ;)I always had domesticated and other animals around me, at least two dogs at any specific time - Fox Terriers, Rottweiler and some others of which I am not too sure about the breed. At some stage we had a cat or two. My late wife grew up on a South African sheep farm so we always kept a few sheep - with names I might add - not for eating! The result was that a small flock of sheep always featured in my life. I helped nursing the sick ones and often bit the dust when I had to catch one of them. The ram occasionally caught me unawares and I would receive a head-butt...or two. We also kept chickens.I love to be in nature and have extensively travelled the African wilderness. My hobby is Amateur Radio and the communication part of the hobby comes in very handy. My profession was also in Radio plus industrial electronics. I migrated to Australia to be closer to my two daughters and two grand kids in Melbourne. My son lives in Canada. House sitting fits in perfectly with my new independent lifestyle. I agree with the statement that housesitting is a win win situation for both parties involved. I can assure you that your pets and othervanimals will be in good hands and your house kept to a high standard, treated with great respect.Alex
hi, After my last child is now independent and my old dog has also departed ,it is time for me to wander.I am an experienced animal lover , have lived both urban and rural environments and enjoy what both have to offer. I am a non- smoking, vegetarian(so no fatty cooking smells in house). Am respectful of other`s property and have house sat friends and family .`s properties.I am healthy and active so exercising animals is not a problem.I grew up with boxers as the house dog, my last two were a Gordon Setter and a Beagle/Foxhound.They departed at ages 14 and 12 after long and happy lives.I have shared my home with assorted cats,Spotted Tabbies, moggies, etc.(which used to follow me around the paddocks as I went for an evening stroll!}I have also been involved in rounding up sheep, assisting difficult lambings and have reared 2 lambs whose mother had quads and she claimed 2 abandoned the other 2.They were happily reunited later. I am looking forward to helping you! Best regards, Karla
I am a friendly, trustworthy, animal loving person with a beautiful 17 month old daughter, Luna Aurora. We enjoy a healthy and fun loving lifetyle and are well accustomed to domestic pets, from rescue dogs and cats through to rabbits, tutrles, birds and guineas pigs! I am a photographer who is currently working on online projects. I organise fundraising initiatives for animal rescue organsiations overseas. I also run the 2getherdogs foundation to speak for those who cannot speak for themeselves and help wherever I can to assist the rehomeing of stray dogs finding their furever homes. Luna is an incredible, sweet natured, happy, pretty much always smiling babe who loves animals too, having just discovered cats and dogs! Luna is into music & dancing, strolls in the park, food and lots of naps. Why do we want to house sit?~ We are in Melbourne visiting my parents for an extended period and currently have tenants in our space. Therefore we look at this opportunity to house sit for you as a perfect exchange. I am particularly attracted by the mutual trust that is essential for house-sitting to be successful. Being invited to look after someone’s home is an important responsibility. Your house and animals are precious and are to be treated with love and care. What can we bring? We are genuine animal lovers and will treat them like the furperson that they are. We will spend alot of time with your animals being home with Luna for a large portion of each day with plenty of time for walks! I have grown up with animals, and have taken in numerous rescue cats and have rehomed them aswell as have worked with stray dogs in rescue homes. Currently we share a home with rescue tabby TomKat and long time senior resident, gizmo the Maltese. We will bring a caring, reliable, organised touch with us to your home. I have experience during past travels caring for a range of properties, city and rural, all treated with respect for owners homes & privacy. I have also co run a B&B and am very aware of presentation & house related issues involving, repairs & maintenance. My house sit motto is: 'do no harm' I will always return houses to the owners in the condition received- if not better. There is always the option to keep regular email/skype contact with the owners if desired, I am non-smoking and am able to provide you with references on request.Looking forward to hearing from you:)
Hi there, thanks for taking a moment to look at my profile.I'm a 51 year old, not a 20 something experimenting with travel.I've made a very conscious decision to be a nomad, taking in variety of place, people and purpose wherever I can.I'm primarily in startup mode with my new small business...a supplier of digital business cards (yes, they're a thing !) and I'm into my second year, having survived the all important first year (www.mysmartcardsite.com)I'm lucky to have two great kids (young adults) and two ex wives (also young adults at times).I choose the travel life and I've gotten rid of most of my possessions. My car, computer and clothing are pretty much all I own.I'm very comfortable with hard work having owned my own 80 acre property in Tassie for 5 years, off grid, organic vege garden, goats, dogs, chicken, cat, geese and the odd snake or two. Along with the wedge tail eagles they pretty much owned me.I'm happy around animals of all types and very fit.I have no 'needs' except wifi and fresh water. If you can house me, and command me to meet your needs I'd love to take care of your precious space, animals and interests, for as long as you require.Let's start a conversation.RegardsAdam0411 367 890
I'm a 37 year old media analyst from Melbourne who has the better part of 2016 house/dog sitting across Melbourne and Hobart and would love to keep the ball rolling. Houseproud, respectful, and responsible, I can be relied upon to treat your home and pets as if they were my own. Most experienced with dogs and cats, I am firmly of the 'pets as family' school when it comes to furry companions. I'm known for taking dogs on long walks and talking to them as if they were people. Very comfortable with active dogs, I have the most experience with staffy's and crosses of similar size. Growing up in regional Victoria with family in dairy farming also means I know my way around a farm, although perhaps not to the point of driving a tractor.Having wintered in Tasmania, I am returning to Victoria in October and am looking for housesits in the greater Melbourne area.
We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple. We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia. We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years! We have, of course got references and a police check. Currently we are available for the following period:Mid-Dec 2017 to mid-Jan 2018 (4/5 weeks) when we will be extending an already planned Oct/Nov visit to our daughter who lives in Sydney. The tickets are booked and paid!Dick/Ann

Hi, I am a 55-year-old professional looking for house sitting opportunities in Melbourne and nearby rural areas. I have extensive experience house-sitting and can provide references from many house-sits (25 sits to-date) as well as a national police check.I own a family home in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and have owned a number of homes over the past 20 years. My family has always had pets - dogs, cats, rabbits, fish - and caring for yours and showing them the appropriate amount of care and affection would be a pleasure. My profession is writing and I have a flexible work schedule that allows me to spend my days either working from home or from a city-based office depending on requirements and my preference. That means I can often be around the house during the day to keep pets company and ensure your home is occupied from a security perspective. I have worked for the one company for 20 years - which I guess demonstrates a stable (not boring!) professional life.I am a non-smoker, light drinker, clean living guy who likes a quiet lifestyle. I'm also a bit of a fitness fanatic, which means walking energetic dogs is a joy. I'm very security conscious and like to keep things clean and tidy. I'm quite comfortable with pets that need lots of attention having looked after a Jack Russell in his senior years with daily medication, a strict food regime and plenty of pampering. Our family cat also likes plenty of attention - but only when it suits her! You will find me to be a reliable house-sitter who is very respectful of your property and committed to exceeding your expectations.Look forward to hearing from you.Philip

We housesat for 4 months whilst our new houses were being built & we have done 2 houseswops and 2 non recipricol guest hosting. In earlier years we hosted exchange students when our children were still at home.
Hello, we are a young family with a beautiful (and very well behaved) 2year old girl and are expecting another baby due at the start of January 2017. We are starting renovations of our house at the end of January 17 and will need to move out during this renovation for approximately 4-6 months. We are looking for house sits preferably for at least four weeks or more but are flexible for the right place. We are very honest and reliable and will care for your house, garden and animals as if they were our own. We have never house sat before so are not sure of the rules but are happy to be interviewed, provide references or whatever else you need.Happy to also pay for any bills such as rates, electricity, gas and water etc during our stay. We are a fit and healthy family who love the outdoors and do not smoke. There will certainly be no parties as we have a newborn, we are just looking for a nice and quite place to call home while we create our new forever home for our family. Hope to hear from you. Louise and Zane
I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy. My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything. I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.Hope we can assist each other .
Hi - we are a semi retired couple living on the Sunshine Coast in Qld. Below are the points we consider to be the most important reasons for why we have chosen to become regular house/pet sitters:- We have completed a number of pet/house sits and have found the experience to be really enjoyable and a great way for us to travel to different areas in Australia. We have had some wonderful pet experiences, met some great people and so we can only say really good things about our completed pet sits.We are, of course, particularly conscious of the fact that we are in someone else's home and we take that responsibility very seriously. Most importantly, we are animal lovers, have had many dogs and cats and know the one thing a pet owner wants, is to know their animal is happy and well cared for - we have been there ourselves. We always keep in touch via email with updates on how your pet is going. So look forward to hearing from anyone who may be interested in our minding their home and or pet while they are away.References available
Hello!I am a former Maths/Science teacher who has chosen to visit Australia via house sitting! I have a car and my traveling mate, Billy, and hope to meet lots of people while traveling. I have rented out my house and am keen to get started. I have my first two sits here in Tasmania and two in Victoria, one near Ballarat and another near Geelong. I am keen to spread my wings! I love to garden and adore animals and am considered to always have a tidy home! I'm a non- smoker. I have had chooks before and love horses and cows! Please consider me for your next sitter!Cheers, Patty
Hi I am a single, mature female. This is a time of exploration for me, I work as a casual, agency, theatre nurse, a job that can take me all around Australia. My children are grown and I am free to enjoy different places and people. I have always had animals and love nothing more than the unconditional love they bring to life. I am vegetarian, I neither smoke nor drink and I have practiced and taught yoga and meditation for the past 30 years. I look forward to the opportunity to house sit for you,Jan
We are on the road to retirement & looking forward to the next stage in our life, we are still doing some work via the internet & this means that we will be around for most of the time to care & watch over everything for you.As well as travelling & having new experiences along the way, we have found that house sitting really suits us as it is so comforting to stay in a friendly home environment & if there are pets or animals to look after, then their company is an added bonus! We love animals & wildlife & have had a long experience in caring for dogs, cats & farm animals. Unfortunately we no longer have our own pets, so we would welcome the opportunity to care for yours. Over the years we have also had extensive experience in house & garden maintenance having renovated our own properties & also as sitters, we have cared for a number of different types of homes & properties ranging from large farms through to smaller homes & units. We do understand that everyone's house & pets are different & we seriously take this on board & listen to each individuals requests & we will follow through with meeting your specific requirements while we stay & promise to keep you updated while you are away. The opportunity to become your house sitter would be a great privilege & something we would not take for granted, as we both understand it is a necessity to respect your house & property & keep it well maintained while in residence. We are both non smokers, healthy & happy people & look forward to hearing from you.If required we can provide further reputable references & recommendation contacts.Hope to hear from you !Susie & Gary

We will treat your beloved pets & home like they are our own. We do not party, we like to house/pet sit and rest ...We are non-smokers and only sit non-smoking homes for health reasons. We prefer secure homes as we need to feel safe and keep your beloved pets safe.We adore animals & will treat them kindly & with respect. If they have special needs we understand that and can discuss your needs. We have extensive experience caring for cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, chickens, chicks, some farm animals, birds, fish & gardens. We have many hours clocked up visiting our local reptile zoo, so are happy to consider reptiles (secured where necessary obviously! :-) ) and all other cuddly/crazy critters considered.Unfortunately, we can't care for cats anymore (unless they are hairless) as Melissa developed an allergy to cat hair ! :-(We have previous police checks, through careers & neighbourhood watch (Previous NHW Area Coordinators). We have previous & current security clearances through Federal & State govt agencies. My name is Norma and I am a fit and healthy mature age lady from Victoria, mother of 2 grown children and grandmother to 3 little girls.I grew up in the suburbs of Melbourne as a child but lived on 2 acres in the country as an adult. I am very happy with my own company and spacearound me and the peace and quiet. Isolation does not bother me.I owned my first dog, a border collie/kelpie cross at 14 years of age and my brother brought home a cat from school about the same time; they both lived to a great age as our pets. Next came a german shepherd I trained to win obedience trials and then with children came a menagerie of animals - an abused german shepherd from a shelter, a keeshound who was a challenge with great rewards, a cat which adopted us, birds, fish and guinea pigs. All have gone now. When I was in my 20's I travelled the world for 4 years which was the making of me I believe as a young person. After many years and a different life of being an empty nester and with changing circumstances, I again began to travel. I love experiencing new places and meeting new people and I have found housesitting a wonderful way to do this. I have met some lovely people and cared for some adorable animals, some of which I would have happily adopted.I can only see it as a win win for both myself and home owners but I also understand how difficult it is for pet owners to leave their animals in the care of a stranger. I can only say that I treat the house and pets as I would my own and take the best care I can of both. I have included references, both character and housesitting.I joined a world wide housesitting site 18 months ago and have been busy for most of that time, mostly suburban sits in Victoria and Western Australia (where my daughter lives) with domestic animals but also have sat a 30 acre horse property and a 12 acre hobby farm with miniature horses, sheep and chooks. I have recently joined this site as, at this point in time, I am unlikely to travel overseas and being an Australian site, I feel it gives more options to see my own country. I am looking forward to exploring more country areas of Victoria and also interstate in the future as a sitter. My hobbies are gardening, reading, singing, walking and travel. On longer sits I try to become part of the local community by pursuing those interests.I have a police clearance because of employment with children and volunteering with the elderly. I have worked in childcare, vineyards and hospitality.Key achievements:10 years as a cub leaderCare of children in my homeVolunteer driver for elderlyWorked in orphanage in ThailandTaught English in Greece and AfricaBook-keeper for husband's business.
I am a happy, friendly, 60 year old semi-retired house-sitter who is a fit, non-smoking, mature female; honest, reliable, house and garden proud. I grew up on a farm thus have familiarity, experience, patience and love for animals and pets, having grown up caring for many various pets of my own.I have a passion for gardening and landscaping; I have the time to care for, walk and empathize with your pet/s missing their owner/s while keeping your home safe and as you left it. I have always owned my own homes and worked in responsible professional positions; married for 37 years to an electrician who works away six months of the year, with adult independent children living interstate pursuing professional careers.I will respect your home, garden and beloved pets with the care I show my own. I can supply a Police Check, Working with Children Check (pets are our children!), House Owners and character references when required.I am willing to listen carefully to your instructions, preferences & requirements. Thank-you, Dianne :)
