Hi there my name is brooke I am an 18 year old Australian female. I have been traveling around the Eastern side of Australia for the past 8 months or so and have had the opportunity to house sit near Manly recently. I really enjoyed this opportunity looking after two cats and the house itself, I am quite an adventurous person when it comes to going for walks or checking out the area I'm in but I'm not interested in nightlife type things so I can assure that your place will be looked after and someone will be there at night. I grew up on property and had lots of animals so I have always enjoyed the company of the little companions and look forward to having more opportunities like this.
We are a clean-living, non-smoking, pet-loving, retired couple, both in our early 60's. Our focus is to provide high quality care for your much-loved pets & your home. We are experienced House-Sitters, and enjoy an impeccable reputation. Since starting out in September 2007, we've looked after many rural acreage properties at Bodalla NSW, Bathurst NSW, Dromana Vic, Woodend Vic, Woongarrah NSW, TePuke New Zealand, Nyora Vic, Hobart Tas, Gosford NSW and Nelson Bay NSW. References and Police checks available. We have looked after big & small dogs, cats, alpacas, horses, chooks, ducks, geese, fish, & mice. So … please contact us to discuss your house-sit needs. Regards, Kevin & Dawn
Hi I am a single, mature female. This is a time of exploration for me, I work as a casual, agency, theatre nurse, a job that can take me all around Australia. My children are grown and I am free to enjoy different places and people. I have always had animals and love nothing more than the unconditional love they bring to life. I am vegetarian, I neither smoke nor drink and I have practiced and taught yoga and meditation for the past 30 years. I look forward to the opportunity to house sit for you,Jan
I am a single, mature aged, non-smoking gentleman with experience in house and pet sitting. As a recently retired school teacher, I am looking for an opportunity to extend myself and broaden my travelling experience by living in an area for longer than a fleeting visit as is usually the case when taking a holiday from work.I enjoy gardening, reading, cooking, walking, and recently, craft creations. Whilst not having my own pets these days, I have had the rather usual menagerie of a cat, dogs, fish, guinea pigs, white mice and chooks.I have a reference and photos which are attached.I look forward to be of assistance.RegardsRichard
Hi - we are a semi retired couple living on the Sunshine Coast in Qld. Below are the points we consider to be the most important reasons for why we have chosen to become regular house/pet sitters:- We have completed a number of pet/house sits and have found the experience to be really enjoyable and a great way for us to travel to different areas in Australia. We have had some wonderful pet experiences, met some great people and so we can only say really good things about our completed pet sits.We are, of course, particularly conscious of the fact that we are in someone else's home and we take that responsibility very seriously. Most importantly, we are animal lovers, have had many dogs and cats and know the one thing a pet owner wants, is to know their animal is happy and well cared for - we have been there ourselves. We always keep in touch via email with updates on how your pet is going. So look forward to hearing from anyone who may be interested in our minding their home and or pet while they are away.References available
HelloWe are just joining Happy Housesitters (3 Sept) as they have more sitting opportunites in Sydney. We have been registered with Trustedhousesitters, so please look at our references there (link below), we also have police checks. I shall update this profile with photos etc shortly. https://www.trustedhousesitters.com/house-and-pet-sitters/united-kingdom/england/bournemouth/l/51324/We are in English couple who are fortunate to have houses in UK, Sydney and Morocco and now travel between our stays. My partner is a doctor, so often we will be looking to house sit where he will be working as a GP locum. I run our business online and work from home, so I am able to keep a close eye on your home and ensure your pets are extremely well cared for.House sitting provides us with the flexibility our lifestyle requires. We love to travel and experience different places but it is also wonderful to have a base for a while and discover somewhere new. Also, we are keen pet lovers, particularly cats so this enables us to babysit them! We also have experience in puppy and dog training and have looked after dogs from Greyhounds to Cavoodles and others in between! We are well travelled and renovated houses in 5 countries, so DIY tasks are easily undertaken. We are caring pet lovers, my partner is often called The Cat Whisperer! We are fit and love walking, aiming for 8km per day but can do less if this is too far for your dog!Look forward to hearing from youAbi and Mike

We are two retired, active, music and food loving schoolteachers with a penchant for travelling and enjoying new experiences. We have been involved in house and pet sitting for many years and in many places throughout Australia and overseas. While we have a home in Adelaide, we enjoy a nomadic lifestyle in our motorhome, which makes it unfair to have pets of our own. Housesitting allows us to indulge our love of animals and over the years we have cared for many dogs, cats, birds, horses, sheep, goats, cattle and the like, with dogs, whether big and boisterous or small and cuddly, being our special love. We are also meticulous in the attention we give to each property, whether it be an apartment, a suburban block or a rural spread. Recent experiences have included a 10 month stint on a Daintree acreage, return visits to a horse property and 3 months caring for two houses in the south of France. As Tony is something of a dab hand at housework and property maintenance and Helen is an expert at quality control, you can rest assured that your property and pets will be cared for as if they are our own. We will happily provide you with contact details for phone referees if required.
Hi, I am a 55-year-old professional looking for house sitting opportunities in Melbourne and nearby rural areas. I have extensive experience house-sitting and can provide references from many house-sits (over 30 to-date) as well as a national police check.I own a family home in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and have owned a number of homes over the past 20 years. My family has always had pets - dogs, cats, rabbits, fish - and caring for yours and showing them the appropriate amount of care and affection would be a pleasure. My profession is writing and I have a flexible work schedule that allows me to spend my days either working from home or from a city-based office depending on requirements and my preference. That means I can often be around the house during the day to keep pets company and ensure your home is occupied from a security perspective. I have worked for the one company for 20 years - which I guess demonstrates a stable (not boring!) professional life.I am a non-smoker, light drinker, clean living guy who likes a quiet lifestyle. I'm also a bit of a fitness fanatic, which means walking energetic dogs is a joy. I'm very security conscious and like to keep things clean and tidy. I'm quite comfortable with pets that need lots of attention having looked after a Jack Russell in his senior years with daily medication, a strict food regime and plenty of pampering. Our family cat also likes plenty of attention - but only when it suits her! You will find me to be a reliable house-sitter who is very respectful of your property and committed to exceeding your expectations.Look forward to hearing from you.Philip
I am a retired primary school teacher and my husband is a retired secondary teacher. Our daughter, Kate, is a barista and currently living at home until she starts studying for her Masters in Social Work in Melbourne later in 2018. When minding your home it would either be Kate or myself who comes to stay and there might be two of us or one. My husband might also accompany one of us. There would only be at the most two sitters staying at your house. All of us are non smokers. We are neat and tidy around the house and if John was to stay then he is a great fix it man and would happily tend to any problems around the home!We have had a long history of owning dogs of various types (mostly small) in our family. We live on 40 acres of bush near the Grampians in a mudbrick home and there are always plenty of places to walk the dogs. If we sit for you then our son would mind our dog Murphy. We can provide written or phone references if requested. We are keen to do the right thing by you and your pet and can guarantee you will both be pleased with our care!We look forward to meeting you and your pets!
A responsible & trustworthy 33yr old non-smoker, I have housesat worldwide & have great references. I love having animals around me, & especially adore cats and smart dogs. I am house-proud, & really enjoy every-day tasks of caring for a home as if it were my own. A scientist, ecologist then yacht-stewardess, I am not quite sure i have finished with travelling the world, but it sure is nice to come home for a while. Housesitting gives me the chance to work out 'where' and 'what' next.*** Although I usually sit alone, I am lucky to be accompanied in my journey now by my partner Sebastian, who will be in Australia til end of March and used to housesit during his travelling days, several years ago now. He is a German psychologist turned yoga teacher/acro yoga instructor and therapist in thai massage. He manages his own AirBnB (one of his rooms here: https://www.airbnb.com.mt/rooms/19358524With his profile at the bottom of the page and many positive references.)*** I worked for a number of years as a medical scientist, saved and bought a townhouse in Melbourne, before deciding to see the world, pursuing my love of nature and animals by participating in various volunteer projects in Latin America for two years, then working as a yacht stewardess to supplement further travel throughout Europe. I have been lucky to housesit (and boatsit) caring for many different pets all throughout my travels, which in turn gave me with much-needed animal companionship and a place to care for as if it were my own. Now I am returning to Australia for a few months to visit my best friend and her new baby (in Warragul) and to exact some repairs upon my townhouse (Glenroy). *** I will not be working in this short time so I will have heaps of quality time to spend with your pets and be added security presence for your home. I enjoy my own time and quiet space and am the sort of person who prefers to meditate or do yoga than go out to parties. I do not take drugs, and am a firm NON-smoker (Sebastian, likewise). We do enjoy the occasional glass of wine with dinner.*** I am an extremely clean and tidy person, (force of habit from working in the yachting industry) so I appreciate the same in my surroundings. Any effort you make to clean and tidy your home before you go will be returned in-kind as I always leave a home better than how I found it, and with more joy in my heart for doing so when it is obvious you take pride in it too.*** I have used Happy Housesitters in the past when I had to leave my own cat and home, so I totally understand how you feel & will keep you updated via email, facebook, whatsapp or Skype, as frequently as you wish, whilst you are away. The health and happiness of your pet, security of your home, and your peace-of-mind are my top priorities.*** I can provide great references upon request (many of my sits have been overseas and by word-of-mouth, so references have not been sent through the happyhousesitter site, though I have plenty), and am happy to meet either in person if possible or via Skype, before you commit so you can see if I will be the perfect fit for you & your pets.*** I have experience with cats, dogs, horses, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, goats, fish, and birds.I am experienced & comfortable with administration of medicines. Please contact to discuss any requirements.*** Finally, I love all animals and seek first and foremost to keep them comfortable and happy, healthy and enjoying life. No request to this end is ever too big or too small.
Hi, My name is Derek. I'm 61, single and this is my third year house sitting. I'm currently in Wallington near Geelong enjoying the company of three character cats and a Scotch Collie.I thought house sitting would be a great way to get to see and know more of Australia and Australians. The home owners, pets, locals, culture and geography I'm meeting continue to supply a wealth of positive experiences. It's also a pleasure to be able to help people get away in the knowledge their homes and pets are in safe, committed hands.Skills under my belt include gardening and house maintenance as well as pool care. I have owned, as well as looked after many pets; being experienced with dogs, cats, birds, chooks, ducks, horses, alpacas, a Shetland pony, poddy calves, fish and bees (a former orchard interest). I am reliable and would keep your pet's established routines as close to normal as possible. I understand how important peace of mind is with respect to the well being of pets. As such, I keep in regular email contact with home owners regarding pets and always attach pics of their escapades. I also spend the majority of my time around the house and therefore, with your pet/s.I am also responsible with the care and security necessary to keep a house safe and sound. I drive but don't have a car (environmental); public transport does the job. I live simply via a connection with Buddhist philosophy and practice. I don't drink or smoke. I would consider any location in Australia - city, country town or rural. Longer sits are preferable; 4 weeks plus - but would consider shorter periods depending on location and bookings. If you think I could be suitable, ring or text if dates fit and I'll get on line and/or phone you. I'll forward references and referee contacts when applying for positions. Thank you for your consideration.
Hi there, we are a friendly mature couple who love animals. Over the years we have owned and loved cats, dogs, goats, chickens, rabbits, sheep, & horses while raising our 3 kids.John has recently retired from the security industry, I am a voluntary ESL teacher. With John's recent retirement we have begun this housesitting journey to enable us to travel and experience new places. We are available for any length of housesitting. John and I are a non-smoking couple who consider it a privilege to care for your home, pets and garden. We enjoy gardening, reading, swimming and spending time with family. We have had many employment situations where we have looked after property - Camp Managers, Relieving Caretakers of a large Apartment Building, and Caretaker of a large community organisation. We also have current Police Checks and can supply references on request. We hope to hear from you soon,John & Yvonne
I'm housesitting as it allows me to affordably live on my own and have the company of animals plus I get to contribute to others through giving you security for your house and love and companionship for your pets and they get to stay home while you are way.I am fit and healthy, I do not smoke, seldom drink alcohol, and will not behaving social gatherings at your place - I tend to go and visit my friends rather than they come to me as most have families to consider I love having animals around – they are great company and apparently I am great company for them to – I have met very few cats or dogs that aren’t friendly towards meI like to meet you before you go away as I want to know how you look after your house and pets because I will look after you animals like you do. I feed them the same way you do, I walk them as much like you do as possible (Taking dogs for walks is always a good excuse to take a break and get some good exercise) and they get to sleep in their usual place as well – be that on the bed I am sleeping in or on their own bed or outside. If it is needed I am also very happy to give them any drugs they need whether that be tablets or injection - and they will be given just the way you want them given. As I work and study from ‘home’ I can be “home” a lot if your pets require that or I can be out and aboutI have experience with cats as I grew up with them and I had my own cat for 17 years - you can't really say you own a cat - a beautiful large male tabby who lived a very comfortable life. I have also looked after other people’s cats. And with dogs - I have helped look after friends and housemates animals over the years as I have travelled around to many places so I have experience with a variety of dogs – Great Dane, Viszla, Collie and Collie cross, Ridgeback Mastif, Retriever cross, Cavoodle, Jack Russell and other more mixed dogs, - so any size is fine.I have also looked after budgies, fishes, pet mice, rabbits and hamsters over the yearsI will take care of your home as if it is my own precious place – and will leave your home in much the same way as I found it or maybe cleaner so that you come home to what you like and slip back in to your ways.Since I 'work and study from home' I can move around happily and easily and happily adapt to my environment – I have house/pet sat in Coburg, Reservoir, North Fitzroy, Greensborough, Doreen, Caulfield North, Rosanna, North Frankston .Much as I'd like to have a long block of time short stays are fine too. While you are away I am very happy to keep you updated with emails and/or text messages if you like - I use Whatsapp for my overseas messaging. Looking forward to helping you out – Cheers Julia Reading
We are two retired guys who own a house in the Sunshine Coast hinterland and are renting it out for a year or so to drive around Australia. We would love to house and/or pet sit for other people on the way while they enjoy their time away. We have rented houses around NSW and Qld and have always treated them as if they were our own as is testament by the excellent references we have been given by the Property managers, and this is the way we would look after any properties that we are lucky enough to sit. We have had extensive experience with both domestic animals...cats, dogs, birds etc. after having owned all of these at some stage...one of which is shown in the pic I have uploaded...as well as farm animals whilst owning acreage in NSW and Qld.We are both extremely clean & tidy people, non smokers and like to ride push bikes, play tennis and go to sporting events like AFL, Rugby League, tennis etc.
We have been house-sitting now for several years. We enjoy house-sitting for flexible lifestyle and enjoy meeting new people , places and beloved animals. We lead a sustainable, healthy, clean,& tidy life. We have references to provide if you would like. We appreciate that it is a privilege to be invited into a home and to be trusted with the care of your beloved pet(s). We like to treat others with the same respect we would wish for.
We are a professional couple located in Canberra and have previously completed a local house sit in between the sale of our house and the purchase of our new one. We have a seventeen year old daughter who loves school and enjoys part-time work. She is a mature young lady who loves animals of all shapes and sizes. We enjoy meeting and looking after new furry friends during house sits and our daughter currently does this in our home for Don't Fret Pet. We are clean and tidy non-smokers who respect other peoples property and privacy. Whilst we don't have Happy Housesitters references we are happy to forward both of our work histories which include over two decades service in the AFP and an executive HR management role with a not-for-profit.Our house sitting interest at the moment is for holiday breaks (either in or out of school holidays) as a family, or sometimes individually as I (Tony) don't work full time. Occasionally I am happy to get away for a break by myself. My wife encourages it;-)If you are after a small family who will take care of your pets and home as if they were their own then we would love to help.
I am semi retired and would love the opportunity of looking after your pets, home and garden whilst you are away.I am extremely fit and active for my age, and I am a non-smoker.I would like to house sit as I enjoy discovering local communities and prefer to avoid hotels and busy resorts. I would rather find a relaxing place to retreat to.I am a keen gardener and have a genuine love of animals. I have owned a number of cats over the years and my second language is now “CAT”. To be perfectly honest I’m not sure that I owned a cat really, perhaps it should be the other way round. Nevertheless it’s always been enjoyable.I am highly reliable, considerate & respectful and will take excellent care of your home and pets.Your home will be kept neat and tidy at all times, inside and out, and will be left in the same condition as you left it.I would love to house and pet sit for you, and if you require any further information don't hesitate to contact me and I will be only to glad to assist you in any way I can.Looking forward to hearing from you.
We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple. We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia. We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years! We have, of course got references and a police check. Currently we are available for the following period:Mid-Dec 2017 to mid-Jan 2018 (4/5 weeks) when we will be extending an already planned Oct/Nov visit to our daughter who lives in Sydney. The tickets are booked and paid!Dick/Ann
We are a close knit, fun loving little family of 3. Myself, Ngaire, I'm an Osteopath and own my business so need only be in the clinic 1 day a week, and the rest of the time I can work from home. My husband, Adam, who works for a pharmaceutical company, and our 3.5year old daughter Maeve, who just loves life, people, nature and animals. We will be taking off on an adventure around Australia in March 2018 for 6months, however we have decided to rent out our Essendon home before then, and house sit for 7 months, as we have previously had experience house sitting and loved it! At this stage, we will be available for sits any time between July 2017, and March 2018. We are non smokers, who take pride in our home and possessions, and care for anyone else's home like we would our own. We understand how it feels to trust someone else with your home and pets. We are happy to care for your home, keep it neat and clean, do extra little jobs and you can trust that your house will be in the same great condition you left it upon your return. We love to explore as a family, and enjoy walking dogs or taking them out and about. We would be pleased to care for any animal in whatever they need. Maeve is a gentle and kind 3 year old who understands appropriate behaviour with pets. Obviously, we need to care only for animals who are comfortable with children, so that we make sure she is safe. She also understands caring for other people's property and is no problem in a home that hasn't been "child proofed". You won't even notice she has been there! Previous house sitting roles have involved us caring for 2 dogs, 4 cats and multiple fish in one house in the heat of summer. We are up to the challenge! We are also fine, with just a small dog who loves a cuddle, we are pretty flexible! As a family, we love spending time exploring new places, having coffee with friends and just being together. We get out and about but also enjoy time at home so your pets would have lots of company too. We love spending time at the beach, or catching the train to the city for an explore, and of course if there is a great park around, we love a play! We are a footy loving family, though we don't agree on our teams ;-).We would love to hear from anyone looking for down to earth, relaxed but hard working people to care for your house or pets. We are open minded for any types of property. We have police checks and references available. Please feel free to contact us with any questions at all that you may have. We are so excited for the next chapter and the variety that house sitting brings and look forward to hearing from you.
We retired after selling our property management business and are an active and very healthy, non smoking couple aged 73 and 70. Because of our business experience we are very familiar with the proper care of homes and the needs of owners.A number of years ago, between businesses, we looked after friends businesses, homes and a B & B and also have cared for our friends’ pets in our home. We own our home where we have lived for nearly 40 years. Until recently, we had 4 chickens, and also a very faithful old dog, Hoover, a kelpie and cocker spaniel cross, who passed away, aged 15, a number of years ago. During the last 2 years we have completed 4 successful house sits at Somers Victoria, Margate Tasmania, Bulahdelah New South Wales, and Port Wilunga and Adelaide, South Australia. We stayed at Margate for 3 months between July and October, 2015, and maintained a beautiful 5 acre garden of mainly European influence trees and shrubs and an amazing vegetable garden. We are able to forward details of these owners for you to contact. In the past we have also used house sitters. Most of the experiences were successful, therefore, we fully understand the requirements of the home owner and the responsibilities of the house sitter. We are happy to speak with you on the telephone or Skype if you wish.Warm regards, Howard and Mary Arthur

I am a non-smoker who lives an active lifestyle and has an unlimited amount of love for animals. I have grown up with pets my whole life and therefore am able to look after yours if need be. Hi! I enjoy house sitting to live in new places for short periods of time, seeing new landscapes and experiencing life in a different areas. I like going for walks around the neighborhood and seeing the locals. I have previously house sat for cat and dog owners. I grew up with dogs, fish and yabbies (low maintenance yabbies!)I am a clean person, I do not smoke or drink alcohol. I like to play music when cooking, enjoy burning candles/incense and am an avid reader of novels.I am able to supply references for people I have house sat for :)
Hello. I am a retired, mature (sadly!), married woman looking to do some house sitting. I live with my husband in our own home on the Gold Coast and we currently have a dog and a cat. I am an experienced "pet" person, having had all manor of animals in my home, from mice, birds, fish to cats and dogs. Our own dog (a kelpie) is currently 7 years old and a very crazy young thing, needing lots and lots of exercise. He was supposed to be an outside dog, but somehow that rule hasn't been fully applied! Our cat is almost 4 and is very much busy with chasing the dog around. I am able to garden, clean the pool, look after the house and pets. I am a non smoker. Though I plan to "house sit" usually by myself, there would be times when my husband would join me for a short break. We are both thoroughly house trained! We are planning to formally retire in a few years and I feel that house sitting in different places would help me to get a feel for various districts by living like a local, rather than as a tourist. I am most happy to look after pets and would look after your home well. I have now done many house sits (and many return sits) and can forward names and contact details for these house owners as references. I have a written personal character reference that I can send on to you as well. Hopefully all will tell you how wonderful I am. Oh, and also that I am honest, reliable and trustworthy. You can email me on email@example.com anytime. My preference is for short breaks, up to three weeks or so, and around the ACT or anywhere in NSW. Thanks. Eeva

I have always owned my own homes and worked in responsible professional positions; married for 37 years to an electrician who works away six months of the year, with adult independent children living interstate pursuing professional careers.I will respect your home, garden and beloved pets with the care I show my own. I can supply a Police Check, Working with Children Check (pets are our children!), House Owners and character references when required.I am willing to listen carefully to your instructions, preferences & requirements. Thank-you, Dianne :)
