Ready for a move but am uncertain where that will take me, I've enjoyed house sitting in a range of locations getting a feel for the area.Currently working from home, though usually visit clients one or two afternoons a week. For the most part I enjoy exploring new areas on foot, though I do have a car as it is required for my work. Love most animals of the furry kind, but do not currently have my own pet due to Landlord restrictions. I am familiar with caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and birds, having had my own pets in the past and helping extended family with theirs.I look forward to caring for your house and pets in a manner in which they are accustomed.I have been house sitting since July 2017. I am enjoying spending time with new furry friends and getting to know some new neighbourhoods.I have a current Working with Children check, which includes regular police checks.
Hi there :)I have house sat for friends and colleagues in the past two years. I'm a single, mature person (non smoker) who is reliable, super clean and a bit of a dog whisperer. I love all animals but have owned dogs all my life. Happy to walk and play/cuddle with them. I have fostered and retrained rescue dogs. I have a rescue dog (male kelpie) who loves other dogs and is very passive. I like to bring him with me if suitable, but can leave him with a friend.I work part time and have my own vehicle. Happy to water & weed garden, collect mail etc. On long stays of 3+ months, I am happy to tackle a "spring cleaning" job, if that is helpful.I can provide house sitting refs and I have a current Police check. Prefer house sits of a week or longer.I look forward to hearing from you, Susan
Hello, my name is Simon, I'm a single 48 year old professional, non smoker who is clean and tidy and house proud, inside and out.I have house sat for friends and friends of theirs, which included, garden maintenance, looking after their pets and decorating / painting (they chose the colour/s).I'm currently looking at house sitting for financial reasons (separated) and undecided where I want to reside permanently.Would pay for utilities in your absence.Excellent references are available on request.Hope to hear from you.
My name is Joanna, 55 year old mother of 2 children now employed in Melbourne . By default/first hand experience have discovered that house sitting can be a win/win/win situation for the home owner, their precious animals and the sitter. I have found that house sitting provides the sitter with quality time get to know another part of Australia and another families pets whilst giving the home owners peace of mind on their holiday . You cannot get much better than that. I have fenced out our house on the family farm where I grew up just out of Melbourne .Have horses, a cat and dogs .There are sheep alpacas and cows on this family farm. I am a retired-midwife/nurse educator/farmer/dairy farm hand and calf rearer /gardener. This new chapter of my life sees me as an empty nester and am at a stage where I am able to be flexible with time. No longer committed to travel in the school holiday periods. I have fond memories of holidays as a child in the Sunshine coast hinterland and would dearly love to spend some time there again.I have been invited a couple times to mind people’s houses and various animals in Victoria and Western Australia and must have done an OK job because on each occasion I have been invited back. Most of my house sitting is through Word of mouth referrals Have cared for Oscar a cat in his home at Queenscliff six times for a Doctor from Geelong, and twice have been invited to house sit for people on acreage at Helena Valley out of Perth, with their assorted animals including three elderly donkeys .Have minded 3 houses with pools each with different pool filter set ups .In WA and Queensland I had the use of their cars which made the experience worth the effort of flying there for the couple of weeks to mind the house .I like to leave houses/pools and cars cleaner than when I arrived as my way of saying thank you for the experience Ideally my preference would be to meet with the home owners prior to the sitting job or possibly stay the night before they go and be the one who drives them to the airport if that suits .Otherwise I do follow written instructions well and would not be shy about texting home owners if necessary to seek further clarification on important matters . Responsible honest and reliable.Involved in the local football/netball club where both my children played . Was involved in the local pony club where my children and I competed in the novelty events.Thank you for taking the time to read my profile
My partner and I are both retired and live in North East Victoria. We have both of us cared for and loved many dogs, birds, cats of our own over many years and have come to a stage in our lives where it would not be fair to get another pet permanently, but as we both enjoy being with animals, caring for them so their owners can be away without feeling stressed about leaving them, it will be a two way benefit! We are planning to do as much travelling with our caravan as we can fit in between house sits in the coming year. I prefer to live in a clean and tidy home and would treat your home in like manner. Please make contact if you would like any further information, or if you think we would suit your needs.Cheers for now Jan and Chris
We are retired couple Wendy (nurse) 60 and Patrick ( engineer) 63 from Melbourne ( Eltham). A year ago we sold up and decided to experience a retirement gap year in France as Patrick is French. We decided to house sit through a site called Seniors at Your Service and managed a 200 hectares property with small chateau , gardens and resident 3 year old golden retriever called Litchy. We shall be returning to Melbourne beginning of May, as we are to become grandparents, the current owner is very sad to see us go and would have liked us to stay another couple of years, but we are happy to come home to family and friends. We are new to Happy House sitters and on our return will complete our police checks, references and photos. We love animals and care for them as our own, we are available in Melbourne and also the Bellarine Peninsula.
I'm a single mature retired women living in Baxter. Can do short or long term and have my own car to drive. I've only done a couple of house sits for my family and friends. I would love the company of your pets and also enjoy gardening. I'm a non-smoker, clean and tidy with excellent references. Love great outdoors fishing and camping. Im happy to meet first for house sits in Melbourne area and you can decide for yourself.
My husband (Peter) and I are both in our mid sixties and decided to rent our house and buy a mobile home and trailer to take our Earth and Space Education Programs and Mobile Planetarium to schools in more remote areas. We have little work, if any, over the school holidays and sometimes need a house to "recharge our batteries". We especially are looking for a long term house sit as our first schools are in Mt Gambier in February 2018 and we would love a house sit through January on the way.We both are animal nutters and have even bought dog treats to give to animals we meet on our travels. Our last black labrador, Windsor, passed away 5 years ago and we are unfortunately unable to have a dog on our travels as we can be often in dog-free zones. We are often asked to dog and house sit by our friends who seem to think we're homeless. We have also house sat many other houses and many and varied animals, for people from this site and their friends. We can provide their names and phone numbers on request. Neither of us are smokers and my husband has a "keep everything spotless" disease which makes me find him often staring longingly at cleaning products at Aldi while I am buying the fresh fruit and veg. We also have Working With Children Licences and Crimtrac police checks.
Hello everyone!I've recently moved home to Victoria after several years living abroad in the UK and Europe. I'm a school teacher and writer, currently developing my own small business, which enables me to be quite flexible on location. Having lived in a variety of shared houses and independent rentals over the last decade, I'm very conscious and considerate of maintaining a clean environment. I've absolutely loved my housesitting experiences over the last several months: looking after two adorable dogs (and horses!) on a large rural property in the Otways, another two lovely dogs, birds and fish on the Mornington Peninsula, one very sweet dog in Melbourne's South East and now two friendly and amusing cats in the Eastern suburbs. Always happy to help out with a spot of gardening or lawn-mowing too, especially during the spring and summer months.By nature I'm caring and affectionate towards all animals, but especially dogs, having always grown up with our beloved family dogs as furry best friends. Not having a pet has been one of the big sacrifices of living aboard and instead I'm a very proud auntie to my sister's adopted Pomeranian! I can assure that your pets will be pampered with attention, exercise and cuddles when in my care, and I would be available to be present at home during most of the day if desired. Happy to provide references on request. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line! I'm eager to explore new areas whilst looking after both home and precious pets, and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Hello I'm Leanne,I'm a caring-active mature age lady who has a passion & love for all animals. Over the past 3 yrs I have enjoyed caring for some wonderful pets & meeting their owners..(police check/ references available) Home owners please note that after replying to your ad I can only hold my available dates open to you for 3 days to contact..Regards Leanne
I am a quiet, gentle, honest person who loves animals and natural beauty. I enjoy walking and being outdoors, sitting in the garden and listening to the birds singing. I am creative, having studied painting and drawing and I also like to write. After moving out of home and living in country Victoria for five years, I travelled to the UK for 15 months (where I did a three-week house sit looking after two boxer dogs and a cat) and now have moved back home to Melbourne where I live with my mum, dad and brother. I miss having pets but thought it wiser to not take any on if I am not sure where I want to live in the future. At the moment I enjoy the creatures that visit our garden and have 'adopted' a little blackbird who likes to follow me when I am outside for the treats I give him.In the past my pets have included budgerigars, a canary who must have escaped from his home who was flying around our place, I managed to catch him and he became part of the household after no one claimed him, a Brittany Spaniel dog, a "rescue" dog and a rabbit. I like patting the cats around the neighbour hood and have house sat for a relative with a cat a number of times. My 11-year old nephew has a cockatiel that I look after when the family go away.I would like to try house sitting in country and coastal areas of Victoria so I have the opportunity for peace and quiet from the busyness of Melbourne to reflect and gain inspiration for writing. I like having animals for company and enjoy caring for them. When I had my own little place outside Melbourne in the Macedon Ranges, I put many hours of hard work into the garden and interior decoration so that it was a beautiful home and special place to be. I would show the same respect and care in any house or pet sitting position.
My husband and I have minded homes and pets for two families in Adelaide, one with two dogs, the other with a dog and a cat. References are available if required. We have had many dogs and cats (and guinea pigs) of our own and are very fond of all animals. My husband is now retired but has worked in Mechanical Engineering and for the NSW Government. I am semi-retired and have taught and tutored in schools, TAFE and university. We understand how important it is to respect other people's property, including their pets. We care for our own home and garden and would treat other people's homes with the same care. Our objective in house and pet sitting is to experience living in other cities.
Hi, im Sue. I'm a semi retired professional and am keen to meet new people and experience new places through housesitting. I am very fond of animals and have had both cats, dogs and birds as pets and house sat for a variety of animals as well as farm animals.. I am a very responsible, reliable, honest, non smoker who has experience previously managing owned B&B in Daylesford and had the responsibility of properties from Melbourne to Queensland. I enjoy gardening and always ensure I am respectful, tidy and trustworthy of household I am house sitting. I have my own vehicle and am looking forward to what comes next.. If you are looking for someone who will care for your home and maintain it to the standard you expect and provide the same love and care for your pets, I believe I am the person.I look forward to hearing from you on this website.Regards Sue Young
Someone you can absolutely count on! 38 references available. Hello, I am Clare, 63, retired ABC radio broadcaster and experienced house/pet-sitter of many years (see references for details). Although I have cared for a delightful variety of farm and domestic animals in the past, my preference these days is for the care of cats, or other not too demanding animals. I lead a simple life - studying, walking, swimming, gardening and seeking to maintain good health in aesthetically pleasing environments close to the sea for outdoor swimming. To this end, I alternate between the coastal areas of Tasmania (Oct - May only) and mainland Australia, often returning to the same homes at the ongoing request of their owners. Tamworth NSW is the one exception however, being another preferred location, due to previous associations there. My home bases are Mona Vale, NSW and South Arm,Tasmania. Numerous references available and all referees happy to be contacted personally.
Hi! My name is Megan and I'm a respectful and reliable 31 year old primary/high school teacher and copyeditor. I have house-sitting and pet-sitting experience in places with and without animals. The animals I have looked after are dogs, cats, chickens, fish, worms (yes, worms!) and being a country girl, I grew up with chickens, guinea pigs, dogs, cows and sheep.I'm new to the Geelong area and would like to spend some time around the area before I get a place of my own in the area. I'm very flexible and adventurous so I'm happy moving around a bit and trying new things. I LOVE dogs (and other animals) but haven't been able to get my own yet, so I love the idea of house and pet sitting. If you have any questions about me please feel free to get in contact!
My name’s Ange and I’m a 40 year old teacher and community radio person, with my two and half year old son Tauren.I have a background in teaching and community radio, and enjoy yoga, radio, music, social justice and travel. I recently returned to Melbourne after fours years in The Kimberley, WA, where I managed a remote community radio station - the best job I’ve had by far!Unfortunately Tauren and I have recently separated from his father and needed to leave our family home for safety reasons. I’m looking for somewhere to stay while we get back on our feet and look for more secure long term housing. Tauren is well behaved, easy going, charming and, most importantly, has been taught how to interact with dogs safely. I am very vigilant about this as I’m aware of the dangers between toddlers and dogs.I have experience with friendly energetic dogs who need daily walking and company - I had two kelpies (camp dogs) who needed to be rehoused due to Melbourne's rental rules and I miss them terribly! I also grew up surrounded by Staffies so am particularly attuned to their needs also.My son and I enjoy early nights and being out and about during the day. As I’m still on leave, I have much time during the day to give your pets the care and loving attention they need.I enjoy basic gardening (veggie gardens and what not) and feeding animals of all kinds. Can do solar, septics, tank water, generators, remote locations and any other specific needs you may have. Able to provide you with excellent references. If you're looking for someone mature, honest, professional and warm, who will care for your space in the same way as you would, get in touch! Thanks :) Ange & Tauren X
We are looking forward to house sitting in Victoria because we have two of our children living there and 4 gorgeous grandchildren.Although we live in Tasmania we do have a reliable ferry link which we use to bring our car to Melbourne. A little information about Peter and Jan Green:We currently run a very successful air bnb in our home. This is very busy between November and April. Through our business we have met many great people from all over the world. We have in fact been very successful and have received the award of Super Host on 9 consecutive occasions. This is quite a prestigious award in the business. We are very keen gardeners and work hard in that area. Peter prefers the vegie garden, while Jan has interests in both areas. Jan actually has a "picking garden" and proudly sells many beautiful bunches to a local charity shop.Peter built a 28 foot sailing boat for the family use quite a few years ago and we had 30 years of enjoyment on our beautiful waterways. We recently sold the boat. Our overseas travel has taken us mainly to Asia and the U.K. in order to visit our family while they worked in these countries. We still have a son who is a mining Engineer in Jakarta with a family base in Bangkok for his family of 3 children and his wife.We have a son who has just established a business as an architect at Ocean Grove. He has a wife and 2 children. Our daughter lives at Northcote. She has 2 children and is a single widowed Mum. She is a Heritage Consultant, maintaining the grand old buildings of Melbourne as a project manager for the company. At home Peter and I are very active in an organisation called U3A. It offers the opportunity to further the general education of older people. We have each had a role in running courses. We are keen animal lovers and have always had cats and canaries, but have had experience with dogs. Peter is a volunteer driver for Cancer Council, transporting patients to and from hospital for treatment.Jan volunteers in a church shop and bakes cakes for sale in the shop.We are quite willing to obtain police checks if our hosts desire. This is our first involvement in House Sitting and no doubt have lots to learn as time goes on. To that end we will add a montage of photos later, but we were keen to "get out there" and try for a sitting job.Regards from Peter and Jan Green.
We arrived from the States in the 70’s, recruited to teach, and loved it so much we stayed! We are responsible, reliable, non-smokers and will look after your home in the same manner that we have looked after ours.We have sold our large house (downsizing from 2 hectares to two bedrooms) and are now retired. We are great walkers and love all animals, having had many over the years. We have house sat in the past (in Ashgrove, Qld. looking after the lovely Lola, two year-old poodle as well as Lucy in Mitchelton and two schnauzers in Fitzgibbon in 2016, 2017 three lovely little dogs in Forest Lake, Gizmo the cat in Carindale and the schnauzers again in Fitzgibbon, all references below). We are happy to be flexible with your dates. We have used house sitters when we have travelled. We understand how invaluable a good house sitter can be. We'd love to look after your precious pets and would treat your house with the respect that we would hope a housesitter would treat ours. Available for Facetime interview if requested. We hope to hear from you at your convenience. Thanks for the opportunity. Mary and WaynePolice checks, references are available.
MaryPeterPeter: 65, RetiredMary: 66, RetiredSold our current home of 26 years and looking forward to building and reestablishing on the Bellarine Peninsula Victoria.Would like to take care of homes for other people during that transition, so we can be close-ish to the new build. Hi There!! My name is Jess, and I first discovered house-sitting a couple of years ago with my partner at the time - we had returned from a long overseas trip, and found it a great way to settle back home before finding our new place.Fast forward a few years and I have just returned from living overseas for a year, and am looking to do the same now - I have house-sat for around 8 different people from a week, to two months and love exploring new parts of Melbourne, loving people's pets (as I can't have my own at the moment), and discovering new running tracks! I am an IT Manager, and I love animals; I spent 2 years working at the Lost Dogs' Home in Melbourne and loved hanging out and helping with the animals on a daily basis, as part of this job I did a lot of foster care of pets that needed a little love!! My most recent job was working within the transport industry before heading off to travel, and I spent the last 8 months working remotely from overseas and gaining my PADI scuba diving certifications. My main love in life is running, aiming for another marathon this year!As well as house-sitting I have used Airbnb, and couchsurfing and have got excellent reviews on both - which I can provide upon request.I am respectful, clean, and tidy and treat others homes like I would like mine to be treated.Look forward to some house-sitting adventures! Jess References from Couchsurfing.comAaron and Jency HoganBaton Rouge, LA, United StatesHosted Jess – PositiveJess and Kane are loving and respectful and adventurous guests who show appreciation for everything Jency and I did for them. We hung out together, watched movies, ate dinner, played with our dogs, and they rode our bikes around the city. We wish they could have stayed longer! Can't wait to visit them in Australia.Kevin BroskyPhiladelphia, PA, United StatesOther – PositiveJess and Kane came through Philly on their big trip across the U.S. We had the pleasure of hosting them two nights, but we would have been glad to have them for longer. We had an awesome time showing them around our neighborhood and doing a little bar crawl. They are both extremely friendly, easy-going people. We'd love to come back to Melbourne someday and hang with them again!
I am a teacher in my 40s who is looking for a house sit (preferably a stretch of a few weeks or longer) in the eastern suburbs while I save for a house deposit. I work full time Monday to Friday, so your pets will need to be used to you being out during the day. I prefer taking care of cats (as they don't mind their own company) or dogs provided you have 2 (or more) so they don't get lonely during the day. I've also minded farm properties, so feeding chickens, geese, horses, etc is not a big deal. I have been a responsible tenant and will take care of your home like it is my own. I live a clean and tidy lifestyle, don't smoke or drink and seek a quiet environment where I can write, and play guitar and violin possibly in the early evening. If your house is by the ocean that would be a huge bonus as I love the beach. Just to clarify, the cat in the picture does not travel with me, he belongs to my good friends in Melbourne (Point Cook)! References available on request.
Hi, I'm Jemma and I am a personal care attendant (PCA in aged care) and nursing student who lives in country Victoria. I have two little pups (Peppy 16, Jaffa 6) and a cat (Jinx) who are my world. I often house sit in Melbourne in exchange for accomodation whilst on nursing placement and it can be hard to find accomodation as I live 2 - 3 hours from the city (traffic dependant). House sitting is perfect for me as it provides me with accommodation as well as company. I find that when I stay away on my own (months at a time) in the city, I can get quite lonely so a companion or two would be really lovely. I have lots of experience caring for dogs, cats, birds, chickens, turtles and even animals like wallabys and emus as I grew up (and still live) in the country. I am extremely clean, neat and organised, I am a non-smoker and I don't drink as I am too consumed with my work and education currently. I have current first aid, working with childrens and police checks available if required. I'd love to hear from you if you're interested, so email me on the address provided. Thanks :)
I am a graphic designer with my own business, who mainly works from home these days. I am also a mother of 2 beautiful kids. My daughter is traveling the world and my son is living with his partner. In 2014, I separated from my partner of many years and hence welcomed the offer to care for a friends home and her aged puppy whilst being away on photographic assignments, which I under took for the 6 months and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, so hence a House Sitter I became... I am a non smoker and extremely house proud and would care for and appreciate your home as I do my own. Animals, totally adore them, I recently lost both my horse and my puppy of 17 years, both of which have left me shattered and heartbroken, so being a surrogate mother for whatever period of time would be wonderful. I have owned and maintained homes for over 30 years. I am a mother and business professional, with a strong understanding of people, loyalty, commitment and more importantly responsibility. I have been house sitting now for the past 26 months, with 9 assignments under my belt, some of which are repeat clients.I also run an airbnb for one of my regular clients, while she is overseas... It's great, one meets some amazing people...It's like going overseas but they come to you!!!!!I am more than happy to supply you references both professional and personal upon your request.I look forward to meeting with you to discuss caring for your home and your extended family in your absence.
I'm originally from Melbourne, however moved to Tasmania 12 years ago to live with my fiance' (now wife).I have obtained a fantastic job I couldn't let pass by, so it was time to move back to my home state. My wife & I would love to help keep your pets & houses safe and well looked after, ensuring you return to happy pets & a clean home. We are reliable, responsible and have previous experience as House Sitters, with excellent references. In return this would allow us to save for our own dream holiday and get to see more of Melbourne before finding and settling into our own new home.My wife is currently studying online, ensuring someone will almost always be at your property, giving you peace of mind whilst you are away.Apart from working & studying we are a low key couple, who enjoy relaxing together in the afternoons, exploring the local area and heading to the MCG on weekends to cheer on our AFL Team.
Hi everyone! My name is Tamara. I'm a Primary School Teacher currently living and working in the Geelong area but originally from a small country town in Gippsland. My partner is currently working overseas and I am looking to travel with him towards the end of 2018, so minimising rental costs whilst also looking after families homes and pets seemed like a fantastic opportunity. I have house-sat for family and friends for varying durations and responsibilities over the last few years and really enjoyed it.I am very neat and tidy and live a relatively quiet lifestyle. I'm a homebody and love cleaning and gardening so I'm more than happy to do any domestic/garden duties. I like to be outdoors as much as I can whether that's kayaking, bike riding or a nice stroll along the beach or Barwon River. I have loved living in the Geelong area however I do miss the company of animals as my apartment/rental lifestyle hasn't permitted me to have my 2 dogs with me. I love all animals and have grown up with family pets of dogs, cats, turtles, ponies, rabbits and guinea pigs.I am very respectful of other people's property and would love the opportunity to look after your beloved pets and home like it was my own. I've been told the houses I sit are often in better condition than before the families left! I would be more than happy to for a cuppa and check things out before any potential house sits and can provide any references needed.Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you :)
Hi!I am a reliable and experienced house/pet sitter located in Geelong.I have worked for a number of people looking after their pets while they enjoyed some time away. Hello, my wife and myself are going to Adelaide for a break from 8 January to 16 January 2016. We own a house in Leeming, a suburb approximately 14km from the centre of Perth. We have two rescued greyhounds and a cat. I work full time as a Deputy Principal at a northern suburbs high school and my wife is a full time artist and activist for rescued greyhounds, stopping the use of animals in experiments and orphans. We have never house sat before, however we are 'mature adults' in the 50s and 60s age bracket. My wife, Asta has a significant facebook presence, me less so. We are happy, of course to look after animals.
