MaryPeterPeter: 65, RetiredMary: 66, RetiredSold our current home of 26 years and looking forward to building and reestablishing on the Bellarine Peninsula Victoria. Would like to take care of homes for other people during that transition, so we can be close-ish to the new build. We have both recently retired from working in schools and have current police checks. We are both non smokers and would treat your property as you would want it treated. We are dog lovers and have enjoyed dogs of our own in the past but are currently without any animal company. We have pet sat for both family and friends many times over the years.CheersMary and Peter
Our 14 year old Jack Russell passed away December 2017. That was the deciding factor in us packing up and going on the road. Not yet 60 years. Semi retired couple from the Northern Beaches Sydney's Narrabeen.Rob: 44 years in the building/carpentry/painting. He loves the challenge of fixing things. He also stops to speak with every dog while on walks. He has a gift, with animals and loves a cuddle. Our modern apartment block has benefited from his consistent care.(See reference from one long term tenant).Kathy: I’m the organiser and lover of lists and getting the job done. I've worked in the community both in aged care and disability for many years. With Police checks. We both grew up on Sydney’s Northern beaches. I lived in the USA for many years. We are open minded, flexible, easy going, consistent, clean, caring non smokers. Please view our references attached. Each referee has said they are happy to take a phone call for further confirmation. As we have now been on the road from the start of 2018, we have cared for numerous dogs including Malamutes x 2 and Shitsuoe x 2. We have enjoyed our stay in every place so far and have easily assimilated into each lifestyle and no issues with the pets.We also understand that having strangers stay in your house could be uncomfortable. We have our own mattress bed topper and linen. We use all our own detergents, toilet paper and so on, so everything you leave is still there when you return. We go the extra mile to clean the house before you return.I like to cook at home rather than eat out. Your pets get a lot of attention and we keep them in their routines. Our dog was very much the centre of our life. We have also owned 3 rabbits, 3 chooks over the years. I have fallen in love with many friends cats. You won’t be disappointed if you choose us.
We arrived from the States in the 70’s, recruited to teach, and loved it so much we stayed! We are responsible, reliable, non-smokers and will look after your home in the same manner that we have looked after ours.We have sold our large house (downsizing from 2 hectares to two bedrooms) and are now retired. We are great walkers and love all animals, having had many over the years. We have house sat in the past (in Ashgrove, Qld. looking after the lovely Lola, two year-old poodle as well as Lucy in Mitchelton and two schnauzers in Fitzgibbon in 2016, 2017 three lovely little dogs in Forest Lake, Gizmo the cat in Carindale and the schnauzers again in Fitzgibbon, all references below). We are happy to be flexible with your dates. We have used house sitters when we have travelled. We understand how invaluable a good house sitter can be. We'd love to look after your precious pets and would treat your house with the respect that we would hope a housesitter would treat ours. Available for Facetime interview if requested. We hope to hear from you at your convenience. Thanks for the opportunity. Mary and WaynePolice checks, references are available.
We are a newly retired couple and looking forward to house sitting experiences across the country. Jim has had senior management roles and Lorna has worked in not for profit organisations. Sadly our two lovely schnauzers died several years ago and we will welcome 2 more in years to come once we have satisfied our travel bug. At the moment we are about to embark on a renovation of our much loved cottage in Point Lonsdale. As we need to move out during this process we would be available to house sit from September 10th onwards and would like to find something on the Bellarine Peninsular.
I have recently retired so I can spend more time writing, and travelling with my partner Larry. I was a professor of practice, teaching for an Australian university. My partner Larry is Canadian/Australian and also a retired educator, as well as a Cordon Bleu trained cook and landscape gardener, who has built two houses. Our own homes have included two owner-built houses on acreage, and renovating others; inner city townhouses, plus owning and maintaining land. We have both travelled extensively over the decades, and stayed in many forms of dwellings including safari tents, tee pees, yurts, bamboo huts, mansions, upmarket apartments, Airbnb abodes, historic cottages, lighthouses, famous hotels, dodgy motels, and our own homes! Wherever we stay or housesit, we like to offer more than just caring for any precious pets or what was requested: in addition to any fur baby sitting we can cook, garden, do basic maintenance and jobs, and keep your neighbours happy with our presence. We enjoy travelling, meeting people and immersing ourselves like a local; and housesitting gives us that opportunity. We both study and read a lot (writing, gastronomy, history, languages etc) and staying in a home environment allows us to do this in comfort, whilst enjoying the company of affectionate pets who are missing their family. We also enjoy gardening and this is another reason why housesitting suits our lifestyle. We have experience house and pet (cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, goats) sitting for friends and family in Australia and Canada over many years, as well as having had several pets in our family (dogs, cats, goats, rabbits and birds). We are also non-smokers.
Someone you can absolutely count on! 38 references available. Hello, I am Clare, 63, retired ABC radio broadcaster and experienced house/pet-sitter of many years (see references for details). Although I have cared for a delightful variety of farm and domestic animals in the past, my preference these days is for the care of cats, or other not too demanding animals. I lead a simple life - studying, walking, swimming, gardening and seeking to maintain good health in aesthetically pleasing environments close to the sea for outdoor swimming. To this end, I alternate between the coastal areas of Tasmania (Oct - May only) and mainland Australia, often returning to the same homes at the ongoing request of their owners. Tamworth NSW is the one exception however, being another preferred location, due to previous associations there. My home bases are Mona Vale, NSW and South Arm,Tasmania. Numerous references available and all referees happy to be contacted personally.
I am a professional graphic designer based in Torquay, Victoria. I work 3-4 days a week for a marketing agency in Geelong, and 1 day from home freelancing.I am looking for house sitting opportunities during October and November between an end of lease, and going overseas one December. My workplace believes in providing a flexible environment in which I can dictate the hours I work, and where from.I tend to stick to traditional 9-5 type hours and work from the office most of the time but if needed I can work from home at anytime if I choose which allows me to be available should anything that requires my attention arises. I enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible and walk my own dog twice a day, so I can ensure pets will be well exercised. When I work from home the animals will have my constant attention and company. I am also a huge animal lover and happy to care for any pets, plants, you name it. I would love it my beautiful dog Maddox can join me. He is friendly and very well house-trained and will get along with most socialised pets.
Manfred and I have been Married 21 years, have 7 adult children and 8 grandchildren. We have been full time house sitters for almost 5 years. Animals we have cared for ; dogs of all ages and breeds, including one dog who require insulin shots morning and night, cats, exotic birds, goats, cows, horses, alpacas and a variety of foul.We love helping people to get away and have a holiday. Also, a long list of referees on request. We cover N.S.W, Vic and Qld .We recently finished our longest sit yet, One Year! Two Poms and 80 acres. It has been lovely and the owners want us back in Feb . The next two houses its are also return sits, in Brisbane and Nowra. Happy to answer any queries, Kind regards, Jill and Manfred Koch.
I'm a single mature retired women living in Baxter. Can do short or long term and have my own car to drive. I've only done a couple of house sits for my family and friends. I would love the company of your pets and also enjoy gardening. I'm a non-smoker, clean and tidy with excellent references. Love great outdoors fishing and camping. Im happy to meet first for house sits in Melbourne area and you can decide for yourself.
Ready for a move but am uncertain where that will take me, I've enjoyed house sitting in a range of locations getting a feel for the area.Currently working from home, though usually visit clients one or two afternoons a week. For the most part I enjoy exploring new areas on foot, though I do have a car as it is required for my work. Love most animals of the furry kind, but do not currently have my own pet due to Landlord restrictions. I am familiar with caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and birds, having had my own pets in the past and helping extended family with theirs.I look forward to caring for your house and pets in a manner in which they are accustomed.I have been house sitting since July 2017. I am enjoying spending time with new furry friends and getting to know some new neighbourhoods.I have a current Working with Children check, which includes regular police checks.
I am a teacher in my 40s who is looking for a house sit (preferably a stretch of a few weeks or longer) in the western suburbs or Geelong area while I save for a house deposit. I work full time Monday to Friday, so your pets will need to be used to you being out during the day. I prefer taking care of cats (as they don't mind their own company) or dogs provided you have 2 (or more) so they don't get lonely during the day. I've also minded farm properties, so feeding chickens, geese, horses, etc is not a big deal. I have been a responsible tenant and will take care of your home like it is my own. I live a clean and tidy lifestyle, don't smoke or drink and seek a quiet environment where I can write, and play guitar and violin possibly in the early evening. If your house is by the ocean that would be a huge bonus as I love the beach. Just to clarify, the cat in the picture does not travel with me, he belongs to my good friends in Melbourne (Point Cook)! References available on request.
I am a graphic designer with my own business, who mainly works from home these days. I am also a mother of 2 beautiful kids. My daughter is traveling the world and my son is living with his partner. In 2014, I separated from my partner of many years and hence welcomed the offer to care for a friends home and her aged puppy whilst being away on photographic assignments, which I under took for the 6 months and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, so hence a House Sitter I became... I am a non smoker and extremely house proud and would care for and appreciate your home as I do my own. Animals, totally adore them, I recently lost both my horse and my puppy of 17 years, both of which have left me shattered and heartbroken, so being a surrogate mother for whatever period of time would be wonderful. I have owned and maintained homes for over 30 years. I am a mother and business professional, with a strong understanding of people, loyalty, commitment and more importantly responsibility. I have been house sitting now for the past 26 months, with 9 assignments under my belt, some of which are repeat clients.I also run an airbnb for one of my regular clients, while she is overseas... It's great, one meets some amazing people...It's like going overseas but they come to you!!!!!I am more than happy to supply you references both professional and personal upon your request.I look forward to meeting with you to discuss caring for your home and your extended family in your absence.
My name is Joanna, 55 year old mother of 2 children now employed in Melbourne . By default/first hand experience have discovered that house sitting can be a win/win/win situation for the home owner, their precious animals and the sitter. I have found that house sitting provides the sitter with quality time get to know another part of Australia and another families pets whilst giving the home owners peace of mind on their holiday . You cannot get much better than that. I have fenced out our house on the family farm where I grew up just out of Melbourne .Have horses, a cat and dogs .There are sheep alpacas and cows on this family farm. I am a retired-midwife/nurse educator/farmer/dairy farm hand and calf rearer /gardener. This new chapter of my life sees me as an empty nester and am at a stage where I am able to be flexible with time. No longer committed to travel in the school holiday periods. I have fond memories of holidays as a child in the Sunshine coast hinterland and would dearly love to spend some time there again.I have been invited a couple times to mind people’s houses and various animals in Victoria and Western Australia and must have done an OK job because on each occasion I have been invited back. Most of my house sitting is through Word of mouth referrals Have cared for Oscar a cat in his home at Queenscliff six times for a Doctor from Geelong, and twice have been invited to house sit for people on acreage at Helena Valley out of Perth, with their assorted animals including three elderly donkeys .Have minded 3 houses with pools each with different pool filter set ups .In WA and Queensland I had the use of their cars which made the experience worth the effort of flying there for the couple of weeks to mind the house .I like to leave houses/pools and cars cleaner than when I arrived as my way of saying thank you for the experience Ideally my preference would be to meet with the home owners prior to the sitting job or possibly stay the night before they go and be the one who drives them to the airport if that suits .Otherwise I do follow written instructions well and would not be shy about texting home owners if necessary to seek further clarification on important matters . Responsible honest and reliable.Involved in the local football/netball club where both my children played . Was involved in the local pony club where my children and I competed in the novelty events.Thank you for taking the time to read my profile
Hi Happy House Resident, my name is Ros. I am a 62 year old widow currently in transition from Bendigo and ?? Tasmania...(I think?? Your part of the world may be better still). I am able to be mobile as my daughter is now studying in Melbourne and we sadly lost our own Collie/Koolie cross at 14 years old just 2017. I have my 2-3acre Bendigo home up sale. I miss both our dog and our chooks very much... and my 25 yo son in Europe and daughter now in Melbourne. I love being fit and healthy through using my bicycle as a go anywhere machine, running in the bush, Chi Gung and gardening ... and of course eating healthy vegetables. I currently volunteer when I can with both FreewheelingFun (recycling bicycle program) and Bendigo Regional Food Alliance. I still do a few small landscape designs with a focus on food gardening.. (Livinglightlydesign.com.au). I dabble in crafts and music. I joined Happy House Sitters only June 2018 having house sat 5 months over 18months on Bruny Island Tasmania before eventually buying into the amazing landscape and people community down there. Just 5 acres with no house. I have secured 1 reference so far for you. I had a house where new residents had only arrived 6 weeks prior but had a preplanned excursion taking them away for 6 weeks... lots of gardening, two gorgeous dogs (2yo Koolie dog "Algie" and 12yo rescue corgie cross "Dottie") and tidying of emptied container contents!! Then I sat 2 1/2 weeks for a younger family with 2x sheep, 2x ponies, 2x pigs, about 14 chooks, and 2yo "Skipper" black kelpie cross. Thirdly an off grid passive solar house on 8 acres later returning to help with the young mum with her 7 week old pigeon pair human twins whilst dad had time to mourn the loss of his mum. Lastly a 2yo house and two Shitzu pups. This was an amazing house on the beach front but was for sale giving me yet a new challenge of keeping it absolutely pristine ready for inspection!! It SOLD!! Since joining Happy House sitters I have secured two new sits.. one at Barwon Heads and another in Clifton Hill. I prefer minimum of two weeks. Good luck with your search and holidays. Cheers Ros
Hi there :)I have house sat for friends and colleagues in the past two years. I'm a single, mature person (non smoker) who is reliable, super clean and a bit of a dog whisperer. I love all animals but have owned dogs all my life. Happy to walk and play/cuddle with them. I have fostered and retrained rescue dogs. I have a rescue dog (male kelpie) who loves other dogs and is very passive. I like to bring him with me if suitable, but can leave him with a friend.I work part time and have my own vehicle. Happy to water & weed garden, collect mail etc. On long stays of 3+ months, I am happy to tackle a "spring cleaning" job, if that is helpful.I can provide house sitting refs and I have a current Police check. Prefer house sits of a week or longer.I look forward to hearing from you, Susan
I'm housesitting as it allows me to affordably live on my own and have the company of animals plus I get to contribute to others through giving you security for your house and love and companionship for your pets and they get to stay home while you are way.I am fit and healthy, I do not smoke, seldom drink alcohol, and will not behaving social gatherings at your place - I tend to go and visit my friends rather than they come to me as most have families to consider I love having animals around – they are great company and apparently I am great company for them to – I have met very few cats or dogs that aren’t friendly towards meI like to meet you before you go away as I want to know how you look after your house and pets because I will look after you animals like you do. I feed them the same way you do, I walk them as much like you do as possible (Taking dogs for walks is always a good excuse to take a break and get some good exercise) and they get to sleep in their usual place as well – be that on the bed I am sleeping in or on their own bed or outside. If it is needed I am also very happy to give them any drugs they need whether that be tablets or injection - and they will be given just the way you want them given. As I work and study from ‘home’ I can be “home” a lot if your pets require that or I can be out and aboutI have experience with cats as I grew up with them and I had my own cat for 17 years - you can't really say you own a cat - a beautiful large male tabby who lived a very comfortable life. I have also looked after other people’s cats. And with dogs - I have helped look after friends and housemates animals over the years as I have travelled around to many places so I have experience with a variety of dogs – Great Dane, Viszla, Collie and Collie cross, Ridgeback Mastif, Retriever cross, Cavoodle, Jack Russell and other more mixed dogs, - so any size is fine.I have also looked after budgies, fishes, pet mice, rabbits and hamsters over the yearsI will take care of your home as if it is my own precious place – and will leave your home in much the same way as I found it or maybe cleaner so that you come home to what you like and slip back in to your ways.Since I 'work and study from home' I can move around happily and easily and happily adapt to my environment – I have house/pet sat in Coburg, Reservoir, North Fitzroy, Greensborough, Doreen, Caulfield North, Rosanna, North Frankston .Much as I'd like to have a long block of time short stays are fine too. While you are away I am very happy to keep you updated with emails and/or text messages if you like - I use Whatsapp for my overseas messaging. Looking forward to helping you out – Cheers Julia Reading
My husband (Peter) and I are both in our mid sixties and decided to rent our house and buy a mobile home and trailer to take our Earth and Space Education Programs and Mobile Planetarium to schools in more remote areas. We have little work, if any, over the school holidays and sometimes need a house to "recharge our batteries". We especially are looking for a long term house sit as our first schools are in Mt Gambier in February 2018 and we would love a house sit through January on the way.We both are animal nutters and have even bought dog treats to give to animals we meet on our travels. Our last black labrador, Windsor, passed away 5 years ago and we are unfortunately unable to have a dog on our travels as we can be often in dog-free zones. We are often asked to dog and house sit by our friends who seem to think we're homeless. We have also house sat many other houses and many and varied animals, for people from this site and their friends. We can provide their names and phone numbers on request. Neither of us are smokers and my husband has a "keep everything spotless" disease which makes me find him often staring longingly at cleaning products at Aldi while I am buying the fresh fruit and veg. We also have Working With Children Licences and Crimtrac police checks.
Hello, my wife and myself are going to Adelaide for a break from 8 January to 16 January 2016. We own a house in Leeming, a suburb approximately 14km from the centre of Perth. We have two rescued greyhounds and a cat. I work full time as a Deputy Principal at a northern suburbs high school and my wife is a full time artist and activist for rescued greyhounds, stopping the use of animals in experiments and orphans. We have never house sat before, however we are 'mature adults' in the 50s and 60s age bracket. My wife, Asta has a significant facebook presence, me less so. We are happy, of course to look after animals.
Having owned my own home for most of my adult life, I am conscious of the care and security needed in keeping a house maintained. My last business venture before retiring was running a B%B where extremely high standards were expected by the quests. I have an affinity for animals of all types, having grown up in the country and know that I would be able to take great care of yours. I am a keen gardener and like nothing better than nurturing pot plants. I am available for any length of house sitting and can provide both personal and professional references, as well as a police clearance. I am a responsible, reliable and considerate person and would take excellent care of your property. On a personal note, I enjoy my own company, work from where ever I happen to be and get on very well with cats and small dogs.
We are looking forward to house sitting in Victoria because we have two of our children living there and 4 gorgeous grandchildren.Although we live in Tasmania we do have a reliable ferry link which we use to bring our car to Melbourne. A little information about Peter and Jan Green:We are non smokers and currently run a very successful AirBNB in our home. This is very busy between November and April. Through our business we have met many great people from all over the world. We have in fact been very successful and have received the award of Super Host on 9 consecutive occasions. This is quite a prestigious award in the business. We are very keen gardeners and work hard in that area. Peter prefers the vegie garden, while Jan has interests in both areas. Jan actually has a "picking garden" and proudly sells many beautiful bunches to a local charity shop.Peter built a 28 foot sailing boat for the family use quite a few years ago and we had 30 years of enjoyment on our beautiful waterways. Our overseas travel has taken us mainly to Asia and the U.K. in order to visit our family while they worked in these countries. We still have a son who is a mining Engineer in Jakarta with a family base in Bangkok for his family of 3 children and his wife.We have a son who has just established a business as an architect at Ocean Grove. He has a wife and 2 children. Our daughter lives at Northcote. She has 2 children and is a single widowed Mum. She is a Heritage Consultant, maintaining the grand old buildings of Melbourne as a project manager for the company. At home Peter and I are very active in an organisation called U3A. It offers the opportunity to further the general education of older people. We have each had a role in running courses. We are keen animal lovers and we have a very placid Labrador named Vada, a very loving but lazy house cat named Toodles together with an Avery of canaries. Walking Vada twice a day on our local beach keeps us physically active as well. We are very lucky to have a great neighbor who loves to look after our pets when we are away. Peter is a volunteer driver for Cancer Council, transporting patients to and from hospital for treatment.Jan volunteers in a church shop and bakes cakes for sale in the shop.We are quite willing to obtain police checks if our hosts desire. This is our first involvement in House Sitting and no doubt have lots to learn as time goes on. Regards from Peter and Jan Green.
My partner and I are both retired and live in North East Victoria. We have both of us cared for and loved many dogs, birds, cats of our own over many years and have come to a stage in our lives where it would not be fair to get another pet permanently, but as we both enjoy being with animals, caring for them so their owners can be away without feeling stressed about leaving them, it will be a two way benefit! We are planning to do as much travelling with our caravan as we can fit in between house sits in the coming year. I prefer to live in a clean and tidy home and would treat your home in like manner. Please make contact if you would like any further information, or if you think we would suit your needs.Cheers for now Jan and Chris
Hi!I am a reliable and experienced house/pet sitter located in Geelong.I have worked for a number of people looking after their pets while they enjoyed some time away. I have also had plenty of animals myself throughout my life.I'm 27 y/o and currently studying Social Work. I work as a nanny through a local agency so I am constantly trusted with peoples children and to be in their home.I have all my checks and references are available.I play netball and volleyball and go to the gym 3 times a week (well I try...)I have experience with dogs (big and small!), cats, turtles, birds, chickens, guinea pigs, and fish. Please contact me if you think I may be suitable for a job with you.
I am a quiet, gentle, honest person who loves animals and natural beauty. I enjoy walking and being outdoors, sitting in the garden and listening to the birds singing. I am creative, having studied painting and drawing and I also like to write. After moving out of home and living in country Victoria for five years, I travelled to the UK for 15 months (where I did a three-week house sit looking after two boxer dogs and a cat) and now have moved back home to Melbourne where I live with my mum, dad and brother. I miss having pets but thought it wiser to not take any on if I am not sure where I want to live in the future. At the moment I enjoy the creatures that visit our garden and have 'adopted' a little blackbird who likes to follow me when I am outside for the treats I give him.In the past my pets have included budgerigars, a canary who must have escaped from his home who was flying around our place, I managed to catch him and he became part of the household after no one claimed him, a Brittany Spaniel dog, a "rescue" dog and a rabbit. I like patting the cats around the neighbour hood and have house sat for a relative with a cat a number of times. My 11-year old nephew has a cockatiel that I look after when the family go away.I would like to try house sitting in country and coastal areas of Victoria so I have the opportunity for peace and quiet from the busyness of Melbourne to reflect and gain inspiration for writing. I like having animals for company and enjoy caring for them. When I had my own little place outside Melbourne in the Macedon Ranges, I put many hours of hard work into the garden and interior decoration so that it was a beautiful home and special place to be. I would show the same respect and care in any house or pet sitting position.

Hi, I'm Jemma and I am a personal care attendant (PCA in aged care) and nursing student who lives in country Victoria. I have two little pups (Peppy 16, Jaffa 6) and a cat (Jinx) who are my world. I often house sit in Melbourne in exchange for accomodation whilst on nursing placement and it can be hard to find accomodation as I live 2 - 3 hours from the city (traffic dependant). House sitting is perfect for me as it provides me with accommodation as well as company. I find that when I stay away on my own (months at a time) in the city, I can get quite lonely so a companion or two would be really lovely. I have lots of experience caring for dogs, cats, birds, chickens, turtles and even animals like wallabys and emus as I grew up (and still live) in the country. I am extremely clean, neat and organised, I am a non-smoker and I don't drink as I am too consumed with my work and education currently. I have current first aid, working with childrens and police checks available if required. I'd love to hear from you if you're interested, so email me on the address provided. Thanks :)
Hi there,My kiwi husband, Oliver and I, Bess (Australian) would love the opporunity to house-sit your home + look after your loved pets. We have just moved back to melbourne after 3 years in New Zealand and enjoy the newness of changing our environment, house sitting is perfect! We have an energetic + fun-loving 9month old son named Micah. He has just mastered the art of patting dogs and is a worthy pet sitter!Olly, a builder, works around Melbourne and I spend most of my time with Micah whilst holding an online nutritionist job. We are outdoorsy folk + love to live a healthy lifestyle. We enjoy surfing, travelling, community volunteer work and foodie experiences. We understand the importance of treating anothers home better than our own, we are tidy, non-smokers and will be very respectful of your home, pets and property. We have experience in house sitting and would love to chat further if you are interested in letting us look after your home in your absence.Kindest regards,Bess, Olly and baby Micah
I'm originally from Melbourne, however moved to Tasmania 12 years ago to live with my fiance' (now wife).I have obtained a fantastic job I couldn't let pass by, so it was time to move back to my home state. My wife & I would love to help keep your pets & houses safe and well looked after, ensuring you return to happy pets & a clean home. We are reliable, responsible and have previous experience as House Sitters, with excellent references. In return this would allow us to save for our own dream holiday and get to see more of Melbourne before finding and settling into our own new home.My wife is currently studying online, ensuring someone will almost always be at your property, giving you peace of mind whilst you are away.Apart from working & studying we are a low key couple, who enjoy relaxing together in the afternoons, exploring the local area and heading to the MCG on weekends to cheer on our AFL Team.
Hello! Welcome to our profile! We are available from June 2018 onwards.Police checks available on request.Ideally looking for longer sits of about 3+ weeks in Melbourne and Geelong. Easy access to public transport preferred. About us: We are newly married and have recently returned from a lengthy honeymoon jaunt around Europe. During our travels we developed a real love for meeting new people and exploring new places. Despite needing to re-join the daily grind (we are saving for our first home), we are hoping to preserve some of that “traveling magic” through house sitting. We are a reliable, resourceful, friendly and flexible couple with a genuine love for all living creatures. We are non-smokers and both have full-time professional jobs. Sam is patient, creative and practical. He enjoys playing his guitar, completing woodwork projects and is a bit of a wizard when it comes to solving any household dilemmas. I am observant, kind and enthusiastic. I am fascinated by people’s stories, enjoy having a laugh and really try to find the beauty in life’s little moments. Animal Experience:For us, furry, feathery and scaly friends are the epitome of joy. We both grew up surrounded by animals and have experience caring for dogs, cats, chickens, horses, cows, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets and fish. We have also previously owned hopping mice and a stumpy tailed lizard! We have experience managing complex medication regimes and adhering to strict pet diets. We have also previously participated in dog obedience classes with our own pups and feel confident in our dog handling skills. We recently had to put our much loved Kelpie down after a long battle with a complex and chronic illness. He was our best mate and being without him has been incredibly difficult for us. We can truly relate to and respect how much your pets mean to you and how stressful it can be to leave them in someone else’s care. Rest assured we would take your (and your pets) trust in us very seriously and ensure that your time apart is as stress-free as possible. From the very big to the very small, we love them all!Gardening experience: Because we both grew up on properties (and have since rented properties with gardens) we are not unfamiliar with gardening. We know how to plant, take care of weeds, mow lawns, water plants ect. We are happy to partake in some light gardening if required. House sitting experience: We are very clean, tidy and respectful. Our aim would be to attentively adhere to any house rules and leave your place as we found it. This is our first time using a formal house sitting site, our previous house/pet sitting experiences have been for friends, family and work colleagues. References available on request. We would love the chance to talk with you about your needs and the prospect of a possible house sit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and meet up in person prior to your trip if possible/preferred!
