I am a happy, friendly, 62 year old semi-retired house-sitter who is a fit, non-smoking, mature female; honest, reliable, house and garden proud. I grew up on a farm thus have familiarity, experience, patience and love for animals and pets, having grown up caring for many various pets of my own.
I have a passion for gardening and landscaping; I have the time to care for, walk and empathize with your pet/s missing their owner/s while keeping your home safe and as you left it. I have always owned my own homes and worked in responsible professional positions; married for 39 years to an electrician who works away six months of the year, with adult independent children living interstate pursuing professional careers.
I will respect your home, garden and beloved pets with the care I show my own. I can supply a Police Check, Working with Children Check (pets are our children!), House Owners and character references when required.
I am willing to listen carefully to your instructions, preferences & requirements. Thank-you, Dianne :)

  • NSW, SA, WA

Our 14 year old, blind and very much loved Jack Russell has passed, so we are hitting the road.
Not yet 60 years. Semi retired couple from the Northern Beaches Sydney's Narrabeen.
Rob: 44 years in building/carpentry/painting. He must be fixing or doing with his hands all the time. Loves a project. Must stop to speak with every dog while on walks. He has a gift, not only with animals, but can just about fix anything. He loves the garden. Our apartment block has benefited from his consistent care.
Kathy: I’m the organiser and lover of lists and getting the job done. I've worked in the community both in aged care and disability for many years. With Police checks.
We both grew up on Sydney’s Northern beaches. I lived in the USA for many years.
We are open minded, flexible, easy going, consistent, clean, caring non smokers.
Please view our references attached.
I like to cook at home rather than eat out. Your pets would get so much attention, as we enjoy a simple life.
Our dog was very much the centre of our life. We have also owned 3 rabbits, 3 chooks over the years. I have fallen in love with many friends cats.
You won’t be disappointed if you choose us.

MATURE LADY, HOME BASED (Internet Business Owner)
PREFER LONG SITS 3-12MTH (min 3wks - stability for my work)

Hello - I am at a time of life where I am available to be the brilliant house and pet sitter you are looking for. I am a single professional, self-employed Australian with two adult sons (pursuing their own careers). With no family around me, I no longer need to be based in one location. I enjoy the freedom that house sitting offers where I can be a devoted animal lover to other people's pets while enjoying your location. Being agile and moving to different cities suits my Internet based (email traffic, not heavy downloads) work very well and as I have lived in almost all of Australia's capitals & various cities overseas, I am very much at home wherever I am.
I will consider any sit with a preference for long house sits (3-12months). I am open to being in any location, city or region…here are some of my favourites: NYC, Spain, Malta, Central America, Chile, most countries in Europe and NZ. I am self employed as a facilitator, business management consultant and executive coach where I conduct my work 'virtually' via the Internet & Skype. This means I can work anywhere as long as I have fast, reliable Internet.

Why I want to house sit
Through past house sitting experience & as a home owner with my own regular house sitter, I recognise the value of house sitting to pet lovers & security for your home while giving me flexibility & variety in lifestyle. I have travelled extensively over the years and am resourceful and socially inclusive. Your pets and home will receive my responsible and loving attention and I will be proactive by staying in touch to keep you informed about how everything is going without being a burden. You can learn more about me via my LinkedIn and business websites which I'd be happy to send you, along with my CV, biography and character referees, for information. I live simply and cleanly and will be very respectful of your home, belongings, security and privacy. I don't own a car, so, I’d welcome the use of a car if possible please, especially for overseas or remote/ distance house sits.

My experience & promise to you
I promise warmth, openness, transparency and genuine care of your pet family and your home. My 'home based' work allows me to offer a strong presence & companionship for your home & pets. I have been an Australian Army Officer with a top secret positive vet security clearance (21yr), consultant to most Australian Commonwealth Govt departments and 3yrs as deputy chair and director Crime Stoppers & National Trust boards. I pride myself on maintaining high integrity, sound judgement, balance, reliability and being a proactive communicator. I'm also very loving and gentle with animals. You can depend on me to keep you informed and to make decisions about your pets and home with your priorities in mind. I am comfortable with all types of animals and those with special needs. I will reach out to people in your immediate community network, as advised by you, if needed. I've been a home owner for 25yr, an animal lover for life and I know the value of a quality house sitter. I've had the joy of 7yrs experience as a host to my own house sitter, so I fully understand and respect the responsibility that comes with this position. I am also a 'live-in' sitter for people with frequent short absences, so I can be there while you come and go.

My aim is to give you absolute peace of mind while you are absent while having a cost effective home solution for myself (as a 'local'!) in a new environment. I look forward to getting to know you and your pet family. My previous hosts are all happy to chat with you and I can email you their references if you wish. Wherever possible, if I am in your city, I will always try to meet with you and your pets in advance of the sit so we know that 'everyone' is comfortable. Warmly, Lisa

NOTE: It's always worth checking in with me in case I am free due to hosts' change of plans. I like to make contact in advance with new hosts so we can see if we're a fit (for your pets, you & me) in advance of a future sit. Let's chat!

I currently live and work in Melbourne, living in a share household. I house sit as I also enjoy having time to myself. I also love caring for pets. Over the past years I have sat on many occasions with many homeowners asking me back to sit for them.

I will take really good care of your pets. I genuinely enjoy both cats and dogs. I Like taking dogs for walks and offering lots of affection. Same for cats too...except the walking.

Will also take good care of your property and leave it in an excellent condition.

I have excellent references. A police check. I don't smoke.
I am a friendly respectful guy who is very clean and tidy
Cheers, Patrick

Dick & Ann

We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple.

We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.

Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia.
We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years!
We have, of course got references and a police check.

Currently we are available for the following periods:
March/April, Aug to Christmas.

  • ACT, Sydney, Central Coast, North Coast, QLD, SA, TAS, WA

Currently I would like to sit in NSW. Particularly Sydney Inner, North, NW and Central Coast to Gosford.

I will look after your home the way you would. I have owned our own home before moving back to Sydney and will understand your requirements. I am a non-smoking, '50-ish' person with no children or pets. I am both tidy and houseproud and would consider it a privilege to care for your home, pets and garden.

I am a practical person and would work to keep your home as you left it.

I have owned dogs and cats, from puppy/kitten stage to older animals and love their company and have cared for both dogs and cats with special needs including providing them with medication, two walks a day and feeding them home cooked meals to order as well as providing them with dry and can food to mix up their diet.

I have raised chickens [with a chook pen including rooster and up to 6 hens] and caged birds [mostly budgies one or two at a time] and am confident managing vegetable, herb and flower gardens.

I have been told by returning house-owners that when they return home, the house is cleaner, the garden is in better shape than it was left and pots and furry friends are well, happy and content. My normal routine is to prepare a meal [soup, casserole or salad depending on the season] for the returning home owners so they do not have to cook that first evening home from holidays.

I have been travelling for holidays and working in WA for 9 years and have come back to the big smoke to be near aged parents, grown children and friends and am saving for my next home.

I work from the city some days and from home the other days.

I love music, the outdoors, swimming, bush walking, the beach, reading and cooking. I enjoy physical activity and participate in regular sport, yoga, swimming and walking are my favourites.

I have extensive experience as a house-sitter and have excellent references which are provided with my profile. Also, house owners from previous house sits have advised that they are happy to speak with anyone who would like to speak to them about my house sitting expertise.

I have a current National Police Clearance which was obtained for my workplace.

Please call to discuss your needs.

Kind regards, Prue

My name is Michael Mathews. I have been house and pet minding since 2008
I do have a web page which has many testimonials:
I am a mature male, single, very strong and healthy and very experienced with all types of animals.
I am a non smoker, non drinker and have a current police clearance certificate.
I am neat and tidy and take the house sitting commitment very seriously. An attitude of "she'll be OK mate" does not belong in the house sitting industry.
I am meticulous and thorough and I always look upon myself as the "Occupational Health and Safety Officer" for your pets.
The reason I got into pet minding was because I had been living with my partner for many years.
She had 4 lovely pets. When we went our separate ways she took all her pets. I rented a unit and whenever I arrived home and opened the front door, I would experience a feeling of loneliness. There was just no life force, no pets to play with, no happiness, no laughter. It is not much fun watching TV without a cat on the couch and a dog at your feet.
To get my daily "pet fix" I started house sitting and I can honestly say that the last few years have been the most joyful, blissful and rewarding years of my life.
Over the past few years I have looked after hundreds of pets, including 26 Alpacas, big dogs like Rottys, little dogs like Chihuahuas, fast dogs like Huskies, asthmatic cats on ventolin pumps, ducks, fish ponds, chickens, bird aviaries, horses and elephants (only joking... but I would be happy to give it a go...imagine picking up their daily poo in a yellow poo bag!!!)
I recently looked after a vets pets...3 cats, 2 dogs, 2 birds and 2 ferrets...they peed and pood everywhere but that is part of the job.
I have looked after pets in the suburbs and on farms, even had to learn to drive a tractor to pick up all the Alpaca poo, and mow the grass with a drive on mower.

I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy.
My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything.
I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.
Hope we can assist each other .

Nicola & Jay Jay

  • NSW, WA

We are a young working couple that met at University 6 years ago, and have been working in London since we left education and started working life. Nicola is a happy and kindhearted individual working as an account manager at Oracle in London. Before that she worked as a cleaner and office manger so is well equipped to take care of any home. She has grown up with dogs and loves taking care of her home, animals and her family. Jay Jay is a hard working, loving individual that loves nature, animals and his family. He has grown up with both cats and dogs and is experienced looking after plants and gardens - from previous work experience. We are looking to move to Australia permanently and want to get a good feel for how other happy-home-owners do things.

"I've grown up around animals, dogs in particular, and believe that the key to a happy house hold and happy pet is to treat them as you'd like to be treated. It really is hard to leave your beloved pets in the hands of others, but our promise is to treat them as our own and look after your home as though it were ours. We are a very positive, caring couple and spend most of our weekends thinking about where the dogs would like to be taken this time rather than getting the food shop done."

References on request if needed.

Thank you for reading, feel free to message with any questions - we are excited to share this experience with you.

We are on the road to retirement & looking forward to the next stage in our life, we are still doing some work via the internet & this means that we will be around for most of the time to care & watch over everything for you.

As well as travelling & having new experiences along the way, we have found that house sitting really suits us as it is so comforting to stay in a friendly home environment & if there are pets or animals to look after, then their company is an added bonus!

We love animals & wildlife & have had a long experience in caring for dogs, cats & farm animals. Unfortunately we no longer have our own pets, so we would welcome the opportunity to care for yours.

Over the years we have also had extensive experience in house & garden maintenance having renovated our own properties & also as sitters, we have cared for a number of different types of homes & properties ranging from large farms through to smaller homes & units.

We do understand that everyone's house & pets are different & we seriously take this on board & listen to each individuals requests & we will follow through with meeting your specific requirements while we stay & promise to keep you updated while you are away.

The opportunity to become your house sitter would be a great privilege & something we would not take for granted, as we both understand it is a necessity to respect your house & property & keep it well maintained while in residence.

We are both non smokers, healthy & happy people & look forward to hearing from you.

If required we can provide further reputable references & recommendation contacts.

Hope to hear from you !

I travelled east in 2015 after having lived in Perth for 18 years. I am wanting to do more house-sits and will be leaving my little girl =^:^= with a house-sitter until I eventually settle somewhere, although perhaps I won't settle and will continue to enjoy house sitting and looking after dogs, cats, birds etc.

I am an empathic person and love all animals (maybe not snakes and spiders!) and would treat your animals lovingly. I want to house-sit because I don't know where I want to settle. I am a very organised person and if left details of what is required I will gladly carry these out. I do not smoke and would rather be in a non-smoking environment. I am a very clean person and know how to keep a house clean, neat and tidy.

I like a nice garden and will make sure that the sprinkler system is working properly or that the garden is getting watered if it is dry. I can also look after a pool too! I am a friendly person and would love to meet you and your pets, and maybe also the neighbours. I have had dogs and cats as pets and years ago a bird also. I would treat your pets as you would treat them including loving them to bits!

There are two excellent references on me but I would also like to say that I have volunteered with Lifeline, working as a crisis supporter for people in need, a few hours a week. To do this empathy and caring are needed which I have in abundance, which can also transfer to pet and house-sitting.

For your interest, this is my home I have recently sold:

We are a couple in our early 60’s – recently retired who enthusiastically enjoy house sitting because it allows us to provide a valuable personalized service to home owners. Nothing gives us more pleasure than making home owners feel comfortable with being away from home, knowing their house is in good hands until the owner's return. We're very grateful to all our wonderful clients for the opportunities they have granted us through inviting us into their homes and lives. We receive trust, and in exchange, we provide loving care. We are non-smokers who are honest, reliable and dependable house sitters who will respect your property and personal things. Our background was in education. We have owned a home and are fully conscious of the care and security needed in keeping a house (including a pool) maintained. Also we have had pets that lived very long comfortable lives because we treated them as part of our family. We will care for your pets as if they were part of our own family. We have had experience in house/pet sitting before and we have references available on request.

We are an older couple. We own our own home and we recently lost our little dog who had been with us for 17.5 years. Our little dog was certainly "part of the family". We love all types of animals.
We are retired. Peter is a retired Senior Sergeant with the Victoria Police. He still works in the judicial system as a Justice of the Peace. I have a current Police Check. I was a teacher/school counselor.
We have had experience house sitting and we do know how we would like people to respect our property so naturally we would do the same for others.
We really love to travel and visit new places.
We enjoy walking and reading when we are on holidays.
Your house would be left just the way we found it on arrival.
We can provide references if required.

I work in financial services and have very flexible work hours working from home a few days per week in the Sydney CBD.

I have recently sold my home in Paddington and am wanting to house sit for a while before I eventually relocate to Brisbane to be with my family.

My recent sits have been for Shih Tzu, Labra-Doodles, Sharpeis and Maltese Poodles.

Recent cat sits have been for Siamese, Maine Coons, Norwegian Forest, Persians, Burmese and most loved moggies!

  • ACT, Sydney, Central Coast, Hunter Valley, QLD, SA, TAS, WA

My husband and I are both retired, although Ian does work every now and then for his previous employer (finance area). I retired 3 years ago but had been a School Admonistration Manager (14 years). I still have security clearance to work in schools, therefore have had the full criminal record check.
We did our first house sitting and pet minding "job" in March and April 2015 (6 wks) and we looked after lovely little dog and cat
(See Reference) and we then did another house sit, pet minding (5 wks) looking after another gorgeous dog (See Reference).
Our background in brief: Five adult children. Married 42 years. We now live in an Over 50s complex and are enjoying it very much. We had previously lived at Sylvania, southern suburb of Sydney, for 35 years. Always been involved in community activities (Judy - P&C life member, and raising money for various charities. Ian - Soccer Chairmans award for volunteer work, also local Scout group committee member and volunteer work). We love pets, growing up I had a poodle, and Ian had a Jack Russell. Our family dog was a Staffie called Cypress. She was loved for 14 years, and when the timing is right we will have another Staffie. But we love all pets. We are honest and reliable, and would take good care of your home, inside and out. Ian really enjoys mowing lawns, yes he does. And I love pottering in the garden. We would now like to do more travelling and exploring of this wonderful country. Please contact us if you would like more information.

Hello Home Owners!

This year I am focusing on house-sitting around the Toowoomba area; some areas in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, and the Gold Coast . Petrol costs too much to go further afield, unfortunately.

Being a pensioner, and a retired teacher,I decided House-Sitting was my only way of having a break/ holiday from home. I have done several successful years of pet and home-sitting ..all with dogs, cats, birds, fish , etc., and even a pet python. I am police-checked a few times over [ for volunteer work], and hold a current Blue Card. I carry a pet first aid kit in my car.

I am a keen gardener, and may find a meal in your fridge or freezer on your return.I am used also to looking after pools.

I am an inveterate animal-lover, with a rural back-ground. I do not smoke , and have the occasional Guinness. I don't throw wild parties.. nor even sedate dinner-parties, as meagre pensions don't run to that!!!! I bring my own mobile larder, laptop, printer, mobile internet modem for my emails , and mobile phone with unlimited calls, so I do not need much, apart from some space in the fridge and the freezer, and access to wifi for my web searches. I have my own transport..a battered Falcon wagon with three dog restraints in the back.

Currently, I do not have any pets of my own, as my beloved Westie, Cailan, passed away last year.

References are available.
