(Sorry but we are fully booked for the rest of 2017) Hi, my husband and I are recently retired teachers 61 and 62 who have lived and worked in the same area for 32 years. Of course as teachers we had regular police checks and we can also provide references. After retirement we went to Canada, Hawaii, Far North Queensland and Tasmania. Yes we have caught the travel bug! We are friendly, reliable and caring and now that our children have grown up and our beloved pets passed away we are rattling around our house with time on our hands. As a retired couple we are available for any length of time and we can plan to house sit everywhere in Australia for the next 12 months to 24 months after which time we hope our children will provide us with grandchildren to spoil. As my husband Ross is a very keen fisherman we try for locations close to good fishing areas.
We love animals and we always look after all our friends and neighbours pets, houses, gardens and mail when they are away. One of them suggested pet and house sitting as it involves travelling, animals and gardening!
We will take meticulous care of your house, mail, indoor plants, veggie gardens and lovingly look after dogs, cats, birds, fish, chooks, rabbits and guinea pigs. We are more than happy to be in touch with you prior to the pet and house sit and we can also give you updates during your trip so get in touch with us any time to discuss your needs and travel dates as we can accommodate our time to suit your needs.
We prefer the northern areas of Australia during the winter months and we are looking forward to a visit to New Zealand in 2018. Ross is a keen fisherman and gardener, I adore reading and writing and tend to be more of a home body and we both really enjoy seeing new sights and meeting new people. You can leave knowing we will take extremely good care of your pets, house and garden and while you’re away. Ross and I are looking forward to getting to know you and giving your pets our love and attention. Prior to handover we would prefer a written list of your requirements and instructions including your mobile number and email address so we can make contact and get to know each other prior to your trip. We know the importance of trust in this relationship and can assure you of our honesty and love of animals, in fact we have found the hardest part of pet sitting is saying goodbye to the pets because we grow so fond of them.

I have been an owner of dogs for 20 years. I am pet friendly, responsible and reliable. I am of good character and trustworthy both with your home and your pets - something that is very important to me, and I empathise with the decision to have someone in your home taking care of your precious pets. When I go away I have pet sitters come to my home so my dogs are in a safe familiar environment in my absence. I am fit and healthy (non smoker) and am able to walk dogs and maintain a clean house. I will respect your home and your privacy.
My partner is a stock agent. He is very capable with all requisites re the land and animals. He has cats and aviaries and Ollie the cockatoo. He is a real farm gem. He also works as a gardener on a property in the Western District. He is very capable and versatile and can and will turn his hand to anything.
I am interested in house sits by myself, or with Wes, depending on your requirements.
Hope we can assist each other .

I being a Youth Worker with the Salvation Army and also Administrator of a Premier Cricket Club in Melbourne affiliated with Cricket Victoria. Gary was General Manager of our own business and also has held many other positions since selling the business. Gary also was involved with Cricket Victoria as a Delegate and held the position of Director of Cricket with a Premier Cricket Club. Gary and I have just recently resigned from Premier Cricket positions also.

House and Property Sitting/Pet Sitting assignments:

For many years we owned a property and we fondly cared for our pets which were goats, alpacas, dogs, chickens and cats.

Our House and Pet Sittings assignments to date:

Goats, Alpacas, Dogs(numerous breeds), cats (numerous breeds) donkeys, chickens, sheep, cows, birds

On our assignments we have travelled to Warragul, Moorooduc, Tallangatta, Bendigo, Sydenham, Red Hill, Toodyay Western Australia, South Yunderup and Hazelmere Western Australia.

We adore animals and our old dog Oscar is part of family who is travels with us on our sits. Oscar is 13yo cocker spaniel cross who is incredibly quiet in nature. He is an outside dog and has absolutely loved socialising with other animals.

We are clean, non smokers who are respectful, honest and reliable of owners properties and care for animals as if our own.

The downside to caring for animals is saying goodbye to them as we love them all and do get attached to them.

We have Police checks, WWCH, personal references and house sit references to view.

We would love to hear from you.

Hello! Firstly, thank you trusting us with your precious family members. Our pets teach us compassion, remind us that we have something to be grateful for in life, keep us in the present, cheer us up when we are unwell and force us into fitness, and there's not a day that goes by that I think of all my beloved pets who are no longer here. :) All my life, we have had pets - ranging from cats, dogs, geese, ducks and cows as a child growing up in Wales and later Africa. (No giraffes though...or lions - the amount of hair they bring into the house is mortifying... although I did enjoy feeding a cheetah a few years ago!). I am the mother of 4 grown up decent and well-adjusted children who are now living their own lives, and we share care of our dog ( a mild gentle ridgeback-great dane who loves cats and is naturally submissive around dogs) and our narcissistic cat (whose sovereignty was never in question), so they are happy to stay home in Canberra. This allows me to roam the country and continue writing my books and fuss over your pets at the same time. This is the first time I am pet-sitting, although I have informally taken care of others' companions from time to time over the decades. My heart is in the right place - I am also a former nurse, therapist, nanny, foster carer and cockatoo whisperer (yes, that was a wild one who took a liking to my calmness), I love animals of all kinds. Usually, I will be travelling to pet sit on my own, as a writer can write anywhere ... and depending on time-frames, my 17 year old daughter (who worked at a vet clinic and who is forever collecting stray dogs off the road to take to safety) might come with me. If a request comes in during February 2017, my elderly mum (who has volunteered for 30 years in animal welfare) who is visiting from the UK may accompany me. We are both gentle, emotionally intelligent and warm. In my work, I am know for my integrity - and this value is a strength of mine that applies to all areas of my life, so your house and its belongings will be held in respect by me. I am a non smoker, have regular police checks due to my work as an emergency foster carer - and I look forward to meeting you - and helping you enjoy your holidays with the knowledge your pets are having a nurturing time. Lucy x

Hi there, I'm a semi retired 50 something male (non smoker) who looks after people's pets and homes. I have had many happy clients, including lots of dogs and cats and horses and cows (see pics); I'm sure their owners are happy too.

I have many references from pet owners who you can speak to; including police personnel, doctors and business owners, so you can check my bona fides.

I have much rural experience and I'm rather handy with tractors, diggers, ride on lawn mowers, chainsaws and the like. Homes in my care have varied from farms to cute cottages to executive palaces and high security homes.

My preferences are northern rivers of NSW / sthn Queensland and the greater Sydney area. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks :)

Available from 19 November 2014.

We are a couple in our early 60’s – recently retired who enthusiastically enjoy house sitting because it allows us to provide a valuable personalized service to home owners. Nothing gives us more pleasure than making home owners feel comfortable with being away from home, knowing their house is in good hands until the owner's return. We're very grateful to all our wonderful clients for the opportunities they have granted us through inviting us into their homes and lives. We receive trust, and in exchange, we provide loving care. We are non-smokers who are honest, reliable and dependable house sitters who will respect your property and personal things. Our background was in education. We have owned a home and are fully conscious of the care and security needed in keeping a house (including a pool) maintained. Also we have had pets that lived very long comfortable lives because we treated them as part of our family. We will care for your pets as if they were part of our own family. We have had experience in house/pet sitting before and we have references available on request.

I currently live and work in Melbourne, living in a share household. I house sit as I also enjoy having time to myself. I also love caring for pets. Over the past years I have sat on many occasions with many homeowners asking me back to sit for them.

I will take really good care of your pets. I genuinely enjoy both cats and dogs. I Like taking dogs for walks and offering lots of affection. Same for cats too...except the walking.

Will also take good care of your property and leave it in an excellent condition.

I have excellent references. A police check. I don't smoke.
I am a friendly respectful guy who is very clean and tidy
Cheers, Patrick

Christina & Reiner

  • ACT, Sydney, Central Coast, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA

We are a responsible, trustworthy, non-smoking freelance/semi-retired couple with plenty of common sense, responsibility and reliability.
We are German born with Australian Permanent Residency/European Citizenship. We both have/had responsible positions in our careers. Reiner enjoyed a managing position for over 15 years at a renowned Public Health Insurance in Duisburg and I was the Managing Director of an Interior Design Company and the owner of a reputable and successful Home and Giftware store with several employees in Sydney. We are currently enjoying some time-out and are possessed by the traveling bug and welcome this alternate lifestyle of housesitting around the world. As we have more time for ourselves and do the things we truly enjoy, we also have the flexibility to travel with or without our caravan (in Europe) and also do the things we really love doing, like walking, riding bicycles, yoga, meditation reading, cooking, crafting, listening to music...
We aim to take a professional approach to housesitting and would like to undertake a variety of housesit assignments around the world. We have many years of travel experience and are easily and quickly comfortable elsewhere. We would feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to housesit in different countries and experience their history and culture and learning a new language is always great fun. Housesitting enables us to experience diverse areas and cultures and getting to know the community we live in.
We have both been brought up surrounded by pets and they played a huge part of our life and they have been treated like family members. Our travelling lifestyle precludes us from having our own pets so we particularly love to spoil your beautiful two or four legged family members that we have entrusted to our care.
As we are new to the housesitting community we would very much welcome the opportunity for us to sit. We are an open minded couple and our time traveling throughout Europe with our Caravan has been introducing us to our nomadic life style. Although we are new to the concept of ‘house-sitting’ we regularly find ourselves taking care of the pets of our camping neighbours and spoiling their dogs and cats with cuddles or walk or sit them.
We feel that housesitting is home away from home. We look after everything as we would if the house was our own. We both own properties and have a good common sense of how and what to be taken care of. We have renovated our own properties and landscaped our gardens so we can put our hands to most things should the need arise in an emergency.
We know that it may be worrying for you to leave your pets and home; we are very conscious of this and we will make sure that we communicate regularly by email or to reassure you that all is well.
We recognize the importance of selecting the right house-sitters to look after your home, pets and garden. We are genuine animal lovers and having pets to look after is a pleasure for us. We are also house proud and we will keep your house and garden looking clean and tidy and maintained in good condition for your return.
We can provide police check and any other information you may wish to know upon request. Happy to Skype also as introduction and a way to get to know us more upfront.
Do contact us as we are always happy to discuss your individual house-sitting needs.

Kind regards,

Christina & Reiner

We are a retired, non-smoking, quiet living couple.

We are well-traveled and when we stay in a property anywhere in the world we look after it properly and leave it in very good order, clean and tidy.

Although we are UK based we are always looking for opportunities to stay in Australia.
We have considerable experience of house/pet sitting with cats mainly, but also with other small animals, here in the UK and in Australia. We also had cats for over 35 years!
We have, of course got references and a police check.

Currently we are available for the following period:

Mid-Dec 2017 to mid-Jan 2018 (4/5 weeks) when we will be extending an already planned Oct/Nov visit to our daughter who lives in Sydney. The tickets are booked and paid!

Hello Home Owners!

This year I am focusing on house-sitting around the Toowoomba area; some areas in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast; South Australia [ my birth state]..Adelaide and surrounds, the south east, Barossa Valley, Clare; and Victoria ..around and in Melbourne, Mornington Peninsular, Yarra Valley; and in and around Newcastle.

Being a pensioner, and a retired teacher,I decided House-Sitting was my only way of having a break/ holiday from home. I have done several successful house-sits ..all with dogs, cats, birds, fish , etc., and even a pet python.

I am an inveterate animal-lover, with a rural back-ground. I do not smoke , and only have the occasional good wine or Guinness. I don't throw parties.. not even dinner-parties!! I bring my own mobile larder, laptop, printer, mobile USB internet , and mobile phone, so I do not need much, apart from some space in the fridge and the freezer. I have my own transport .

We are on the road to retirement & looking forward to the next stage in our life, we are still doing some work via the internet & this means that we will be around for most of the time to care & watch over everything for you.

As well as travelling & having new experiences along the way, we have found that house sitting really suits us as it is so comforting to stay in a friendly home environment & if there are pets or animals to look after, then their company is an added bonus!

We love animals & wildlife & have had a long experience in caring for dogs, cats & farm animals. Unfortunately we no longer have our own pets, so we would welcome the opportunity to care for yours.

Over the years we have also had extensive experience in house & garden maintenance having renovated our own properties & also as sitters, we have cared for a number of different types of homes & properties ranging from large farms through to smaller homes & units.

We do understand that everyone's house & pets are different & we seriously take this on board & listen to each individuals requests & we will follow through with meeting your specific requirements while we stay & promise to keep you updated while you are away.

The opportunity to become your house sitter would be a great privilege & something we would not take for granted, as we both understand it is a necessity to respect your house & property & keep it well maintained while in residence.

We are both non smokers, healthy & happy people & look forward to hearing from you.

If required we can provide further reputable references & recommendation contacts.

Hope to hear from you !

Hi pet lovers and lovely home owners,
We are a trustworthy, reliable, caring, friendly & house-proud small family **PLEASE READ BELOW RE FAMILY HOUSE-SITS IF YOU PREFER NO CHILDREN**.
We will treat your beloved pets & home like they are our own. We do not party, we like to house/pet sit and rest ...
We are non-smokers and only sit non-smoking homes for health reasons. We prefer secure homes as we need to feel safe and keep your beloved pets safe.
We adore animals & will treat them kindly & with respect. If they have special needs we understand that and can discuss your needs.
We have extensive experience caring for cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, chickens, chicks, some farm animals, birds, fish & gardens. We have many hours clocked up visiting our local reptile zoo, so are happy to consider reptiles (secured where necessary obviously! :-) ) and all other cuddly/crazy critters considered.
Unfortunately, we can't care for cats anymore (unless they are hairless) as Melissa developed an allergy to cat hair ! :-(
We have previous police checks, through careers & neighbourhood watch (Previous NHW Area Coordinators). We have previous & current security clearances through Federal & State govt agencies. Melissa has a current working with vulnerable people check (full background & police check).
References available and referees happy to speak with you :-)
**Although our children are respectful, love animals and have done many successful house-sits, we understand that some people prefer no children. One of us adults are also able to do occasional house-sits without the kids, so are available for house-sits which request no children.**
We hope to hear from you.
Warm regards,
Melissa & Andrew

I will respect your home, garden and beloved pets with the care I show my own. I can supply a Police Check, Working with Children Check (pets are our children!), House Owners and character references when required.

Home Based Animal Lover & Respectful House Guest
PREFERENCE FOR MALTA LONG SIT during June-December 2017
PREFER LONG SITS 3-12MTH (min 3wks - stability for my work)

Hello - I am at a time of life where I am available to be the brilliant house and pet sitter you are looking for. I am a single professional, self-employed Australian with two adult sons (pursuing their own careers). With no family around me, I no longer need to be based in one location. I enjoy the freedom that house sitting offers where I can be a devoted animal lover to other people's pets while enjoying your location. Being agile and moving to different cities suits my Internet based (email traffic, not heavy downloads) work very well and as I have lived in almost all of Australia's capitals & various cities overseas, I am very much at home wherever I am.
I will consider any sit with a preference for long house sits (3-12months). I am open to being in any location, city or region…here are some of my favourites: NYC, Spain, Malta, Central America, Chile, most countries in Europe and NZ. I am self employed as a facilitator and executive coach where I conduct my work 'virtually' via the Internet & Skype. This means I can work anywhere as long as I have fast, reliable Internet.

Why I want to house sit
Through past house sitting experience, I recognise the value of house sitting to pet lovers & security for your home while giving me flexibility & variety in lifestyle. I have travelled extensively over the years and am resourceful and socially inclusive. Your pets and home will receive my responsible and loving attention and I will be proactive by staying in touch to keep you informed about how everything is going without being a burden. You can learn more about me via my LinkedIn and business websites which I'd be happy to send you, along with my CV, biography and character referees, for information. I live simply and cleanly and will be very respectful of your home, belongings, security and privacy. I own a car, however, for overseas or remote/ distance house sits, I’d welcome the use of a car if possible please.

My experience & promise to you
I promise warmth, openness, transparency and genuine care of your pet family and your home. I am pleased to have 'home based' work so I offer a strong presence & companionship for your home & pets. I have been an Australian Army Officer with a top secret positive vet security clearance (21yr), consultant to most Australian Commonwealth Govt departments, 3yrs as deputy chair and director Crime Stoppers & National Trust boards. I pride myself on maintaining high integrity, sound judgement, balance, reliability and being a proactive communicator. I'm also a very loving and gentle person with animals. You can depend on me to keep you informed, make decisions about your pets and home with your priorities in mind. I am comfortable with all types of animals and those with special needs. I will reach out to those in your immediate community network, as advised by you, if needed. I've been a home owner for 25yr, an animal lover for life and I know the value of a quality house sitter. I've had the joy of 7yrs great housing sitting experience myself as a host with my own house sitter, so I fully understand and respect the responsibility that comes with this position. I am also a 'live-in' sitter for people with frequent short absences, so I am there while you come and go.

My aim is to give you absolute peace of mind while you are absent while having a cost effective home solution for myself (as a 'local'!) in a new environment. I look forward to getting to know you and your pet family! My previous hosts are all happy to chat with you and I can email you their references if you wish. Wherever possible, if I am in your city, I will always try to meet with you and your pets in advance of the sit so we know 'everyone' is comfortable. Warmly, Lisa

NOTE: I AM COMMITTED WITH HOUSE SITS UNTIL JUN18 WITH A FEW VACANT WINDOWS FOR OCT17, JAN/FEB & APR18….. HAPPY TO DISCUSS SITS BEYOND JUN18 TOO. Note that it's always worth checking in with me anyway in case I am free due to hosts' change of plans. I like to make contact in advance with new hosts so we can see if we're a fit (for your pets, you & me) in advance of a future sit. Let's chat!

Bill & Bea

Hi we are Bill and Bea - we are both retired and are commitment free and love to travel especially to new places - we have 2 miniature poodles 12 years old who are very well house trained - they travel with us - we are non smokers - both have over 36 + years of service with Lions International - we are reasonably fit and healthy and would be able to look after gardens and yards - we pride ourselves on our personal and house cleanliness - we would look after your place like our own - it is always spotless a fact that can be accounted by references - we have off and on looked after and rented a friends holiday rental property since 2006

If you think we are suitable for your housesit please do not hesitate to contact us at any time

Hi I'm Jess.
I am a 30 year old, single female, I have my own small Bookkeeping business which consists of myself and some online assistance where required. I work from my clients offices and my place of residence. My work involves the use of a Laptop and portable printer and the odd bit of floor space to go through big piles of filing. I tend to work 7 days a week for a number of weeks at a time and then go on a trip away for a week or two.

I have no children but i do have a small pomeranian x chihuahua pup, name Ollie. Ollie loves other animals and plenty of walks. I enjoy spending loads of time with Ollie and giving him plenty of love and attention. We love extra friends to hang out with and this is why we both love house sitting so much!

I lost my 13 year old bull mastiff 3 years ago, for the last 2 years of his life there were a lot of injections, steroid tablets, shorter sweeter walks and trips to the vet, but the extra care I believe gave him more time and I was grateful for that. They are a member of the family, sometimes the favorite :) I also had 2 cats growing up as a child and loved and cared for them till only 3 years ago. Working from home means I can give any animals a lot of attention and work around their routines. I am happy to walk, give rubs, administer medication or assist with any other requirement your pet may have.

I have a bit of a green thumb so weeding and watering will be a pleasure not a chore I am also happy to assist with basic pool and indoor and outdoor home maintenance cleaning. If you need mail checked and phone messages taken and communicated that is no worry. Please ask for anything else and I'll do what I can.

I am a very clean, tidy and overly organised person who uses checklists a lot to ensure I complete what I need to do daily. I am responsible and courteous and make sure I treat others homes even better than I would my own.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions.

Jess :)

My wife Diane and I have been home and pet sitting for nearly 40 years. We like meeting new people and surroundings. We find time to be active playing many outdoor games, both physical and mental. The free accommodation does not motivate us. We have three homes, in Australia and a mobile home. It is the joy of making others happy and sometimes meeting new pet friends which we love doing. During the Ash wednesday bush fires, we were looking after a small farm, with live stock two dogs and a cat.All ended well and the professional couple who took us on, continued to enjoy a well earn t holiday. Our latest housesit, was over the xmas and new year period, the couple we sat for in Marrickville NSW, had a wonderful stress free holiday in St Louis USA.We can supply telephone numbers Australia wide, so you can telephone the many satisfied owners, and speak to them directly or if you desire we could supply a written reference. We are spotlessly clean, very honest and proud of a reputation built up over many years of travelling all over the world. You can be 100% sure you're home and pets will be in the experienced hands of Joe and Diane, Happy travels.

I am a Police Auxiliary Officer (36).
I arrived as an international student to Perth in September 2007 with my ex-husband.
We had been sharing a house with a lady for a year, and since 2008 we were doing house-sitting for others, who can all give their recommendation: we kept properties clean and tidy, and we are both reliable and trustworthy.

(Non-smokers,non-drinkers, by the way.)
We became permanent residents in February 2012 and now we are Australian Citizens since 2014.
Unfortunately our marriage did not work out and now I do house-sitting by myself. We still support each other, coming form a different culture it is important for both of us.

A little about me:
I completed a Diploma in
Community Welfare Work, have a Cert IV in Project management and working as a Police Auxiliary Officer since November 2013.
I miss our cats and dogs, who had to
stay at home
Hungary, and I hope we can take care of any kind
of animal(s).
We would be more than
happy to
take care about a house, garden, or your pets!

Please see our references and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Married professional couple, late 30's, early 40's, non-smokers with 9 year old daughter Grace and 6 year old son Noah. Both children are very clean and well mannered. We are currently travelling around Australia for a year in a caravan. Loving it so far but looking to stop in a few spots to catch up on online schooling and be in a home. Love all animals (my sister is a vet, so we always had pets growing up). Our children adore animals and miss being around them. House proud and would look after your home with great care.

We are a non-smoking, semi-retired, married couple travelling in our caravan . Both come from a farming background in the early years and have had our own home/businesses in WA. Noel is a "jack of all trades" and Phyllis is a registered nurse. We are experienced in house sitting and have house sat in WA, Qld, NSW and Victoria during the last 4 years including looking after all aspects of farms - animals and machinery. Our ethos is to care for your home and animals as if they are our own. We love all types of animals and really appreciate the opportunity to enjoy "little patches of paradise" all around Australia. Police clearances and phone contacts for references on request.

Benjamin & Casey

  • ACT, NSW, Alice Springs, Darwin, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA

Benjamin (32), Casey (32) and Willem (3) are a small family based in Melbourne. Benjamin is a postgraduate research student in international relations at the University of Melbourne and Casey is a full-time visual artist, specialising in ink paintings. We are a healthy-living and non-smoking family, that love to travel, enjoy nature and the great outdoors, and getting active (exercising, hiking and exploring.)

In 2017, Benjamin is writing a thesis on Australia-Japan relations, and Casey is further developing her business and profile as an artist. This flexibility to work from any location will enable them to spend some time travelling amongst exhibition/research commitments.

Benjamin and Casey have both grown up around dogs, with Benjamin's family home never having less than 2-3 dogs at a time, and Casey growing up with a mixture of cats, dogs and horses. They have both grown up on semi-rural properties, and Benjamin also spent childhood holidays on the family farm near Esperance, tending to sheep, lambs and farm dogs.

Together, they have had experience house-sitting in city apartments, suburban homes and rural farms, happily adapting to the tasks and responsibilities unique to each. Whether it is caring for pets or tending to gardens and swimming pools, they take pride in maintaining the houses and properties they are entrusted with, and caring for furry friends! Willem has relished in these opportunities too. References are available upon request.
