House Sitting in 2018 – introducing Ross and Margaret Belbin.
Dear Homeowners
Margaret has been retired for four years while I am semi-retired teacher. Margaret retired from her career with the ANZ bank in November 2013 while I am a retired primary school principal and now teach part time lecturing at the University of Tasmania (teacher education). We have lived in Devonport, Tasmania for 27 years. We are both 62, are non-smokers and have an interest in physical fitness.
While we are on the mainland, friends will house sit our home.
We are mindful that we will be looking after someone else’s home and pet (s) and will treat both with the utmost care and respect.
Over the last three years we have spent 4 months (each year) house sitting in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. We house sat in Italy last July. We have attached references from some of these sits to this letter of introduction (just keep scrolling down).

Margaret and Ross were recommended to us by a couple who have house sat for us in the past, but were unavailable. We were delighted that they could assist us and they stayed in our home in Melbourne between 23 December 2015 and 2 January 2016.
Margaret and Ross are now well-loved by our aging terriers (there is nothing automatic about winning the hearts of a West Highland White, and a half-Westie, half-Scottie). They also left our house in immaculate condition, and insisted on replacing anything they used, although this was not necessary.

We were lucky enough to have Ross and Margaret Belbin as our first experience of house sitters. Frankly, they were wonderful. From initial contact, through a comprehensive handover and on to coming back to a spotless home the whole experience was smooth, painless and trouble free.

"Ross and Margaret house-sat for us for a week over Easter break so we could go on our honeymoon. They are wonderful people, and took great care of our home and our two dogs (Labrador and Golden Retriever). When we returned, the house was cleaner than when we had left it, and Ross had even mowed our lawn! The dogs were healthy and happy; you could tell they had been receiving regular exercise. Anyone who is looking for someone to house- or pet-sit for them would be lucky to have Ross and Margaret. We thoroughly recommend them!"
