About
Hello, I am a single, non smoking 50-something, semi-retired woman looking for house sitting opportunities around Australia. I completed my first sit over Christmas 2018 and am now house sitting full time. I have just finished a 4 month sit with 2 kitties in Altona, Melbourne. This sit was not due to end until early April; however, the home owners had to return early due to a death in the family. With this sudden unexpected gap in my schedule I took some time to visit family in Queensland. I am now heading to Tasmania for a 3 weeks sit in March, with further Tassie sits booked - a week in April and for all of May and June - so if you’re in Tassie and looking for a sitter, please get in touch.
I have lived with animals pretty much my whole life - feels like I grew up in a menagerie - cats, dogs, budgies, goldfish, guinea pigs, chooks. My last 2 fur babies were Turkish Van cats who lived to be almost 20 years old and passed away in 2016 - they were known by everyone as "the girls". I've been pet free since and really miss their furry company. The girls were indoor only cats (although they really really wanted to be big, brave, outdoor adventure girls) so I am a wiz at cleaning out kitty litter trays and am not offended by the occasional miss/mess and always assert that the fine coating of cat fur that I used to wear only added to my overall look.
I have lived mostly in apartments over the last few years but have lived in houses with gardens which I really enjoyed pottering around in so am happy to look after yours (should you have one). I am a bit of a minimalist and like to keep my home clean and tidy (but comfy) and will keep your home the same.
I have attached a couple of reference and a couple of character references as well as a police check to my profile. Depending on your location, I am happy to catch up before you make a decision and before the sit starts or if you're interstate, there's always Skype.
