CARETAKERS & RELIEF / MANAGERS OF B&B, BOUTIQUE RESORTS/HOTELS & SMALL BUSINESSES - SUNSHINE COAST REGION ONLY
We are a Mature Aged Couple & Professional Caretakers/Managers of B&B, Boutique Resorts, & Small Businesses - within Sunshine Coast Region (SC). Negotiable & flexible, we are available for Relief Caretaking/Management Roles on a 6-12+ Months basis, & although shorter timeframes may be considered, we would recommend that appointing us on an ongoing basis will be to your best advantage. Note: Annemaree is studying at SC University, so we can only consider assignments outside SC during Semester Breaks, subject to availability.
Our aim is to assist B&B/Resort & Business Owners in stepping back from their business into a semi-retired lifestyle whilst still enjoying an independent income stream, and/or take that much needed break - until we find our dream property &/or next adventure. Self Employed with 2 businesses we mostly work from home – one is mainly weekend events, the other is our Property Investment & Renovation Brokerage.
By way of our backgrounds... Chris is a Entrepreneur/Farmer’s Son & is ex-military, ex-corporate, having moved from Victoria to Queensland in 2004, & subsequently SC in 2007. He has worked with numerous start-up & small businesses to develop their operations & sales team, & managed a Boutique Hotel in Brisbane. Chris is also a great handyman who when he's not working, loves to be busy researching, tinkering with or making things from wooden games, to furniture, to building sheds.
I grew up in a large family in Brisbane suburbia, worked in Real Estate, Small & Corporate Businesses, Restaurants, Hotels & Bars in Brisbane, lived on a Great Barrier Reef Island working in Resort Management, travelled & worked abroad for 3 years, returning to Australia to work in Corporate Sydney for 20 years. Ex-corporate, I’ve coached, educated business leaders & teams, redeveloped start-up, small businesses & corporate departments, moving back to Sunshine Coast 12years ago, developing an appreciation for mother-nature & semi/rural living, minimalistic, low maintenance, 'conscious' lifestyle.
Chris & I have lived on acreage & (ride-on) mowed it, dealt with pumps, tanks & septic systems, lovingly raised chickens & puppies, & cared for chooks, birds, dogs, cats, fish, cows, sheep, goats, horses, & donkeys! Whilst we don't have any pets of our own, we will still consider caring for pets and farm animals, providing they are outdoor living adventurers.
Between Chris & I, we can pretty much handle anything to do with property & business. We are house & garden proud, pretty fit, non-smokers, enjoy a quiet life, healthy organic food, & the rare glass of wine... so you can rest assured, we will respect your home, business & neighbours as we would our own.
We have great character, business and caretaking references, and police clearances. Since May 2014 (when we sold our Mooloolah home), we've been:
• Caretakers/assisted a retired couple with their 32acre / previously 5 Star B&B in Bald Knob for 5.5Months until sold - house sitting when they ventured away;
• Were entrusted with a family's new urban Caloundra home & pool for the school holidays;
• Looked after a retired couple’s urban Sandstone Point home for 2Months while they toured Australia;
• Caretakers of a 20acre Landsborough Horse Property with 6Horses+1Cat for 3Months while the retired owners visited NZ family;
• Looked after a Palmwoods home +2Dachshunds+1Cat (twice) while the owners travelled interstate & abroad;
• Looked after a Beerwah home + 1Cocker Spaniel for 4Months while the retired owners travelled Australia;
• Looked after a Pelican Waters home for 18Months while the Family took an extended European Business/Family trip;
• Looked after a 4acre Mapleton property + 2Papillion (dogs)+4Chooks+2Goldfish for 1Month while the owners travelled overseas;
• Caretakers of a 10acre Palmwoods property + 1BorderCollie+6Chooks+Orchards for 2.5Months while the Retired Owners travelled overseas;
• Caretakers of a 3acre Ninderry property for FIFO Owner; and
• Caretakers of a 2acre Tinbeerwah property for SME Owners + renovations of their Granny Flat, Business Carports/Cleaning Bay & Main House + Wash/Vacuum/Refuel Car Fleet.
Due to our high standards, diligence & flexibility - our services are held in high regard – which we trust you will appreciate!
To be upfront, our ‘Standard’ Professional Residential Property Caretaking Services for non-income generating properties starts from just $100/Day (Ex GST) on an ongoing part-time basis, plus 25% of Gross $Value of outsourced services brokered &/or onsite personnel managed on your behalf; with exclusive use of a good quality onsite self-contained private dwelling & utilities, & a vehicle best-fit to your property conditions (as may be required). ‘Standard’ being brokering/outsourcing/management of Semi-Rural Residential Property on up to 3 Acres of Low-Maintenance Lawn & Gardens, with general Home Care & day-to-day Maintenance Projects. Note: An additional fee of $25+ (Ex GST) per Animal per Day applies to the care of Small/Med Pets &/or Farm Animals to cover the time, expertise & responsibility required.
For our ‘Standard’ Professional Property or Business Management Services to manage the upkeep of existing ‘ethical' income-generating properties, depending on the role, assignment timeframe & part-time responsibilities, our fees will be negotiated on a Retainer (starting at $250+/Day ex GST) against the greater of 25% of Gross Revenue or 50% of Profit; plus exclusive use of an good quality onsite self-contained private dwelling & all utilities, & a fully maintained vehicle best-fit to your property conditions or requirements. Note that where possible we can also endeavour to develop an initial, new or multiple (ethical) revenue stream/s for your property to more than cover our costs to you, with the aim of providing the best possible ROI from your existing or future property.
In addition, we can also research, identify &/or negotiate best-fit Property Investment & Development Opportunities to suit your risk profile & investment strategy; (ethical) Property & Business Opportunities & additional Income Streams; Property & Landscaping Renovation; Caretake &/or Relief/Manage Semi/Rural B&B & Boutique Resort/Hotel, & Small/Medium Businesses; & Private Vehicle Transfers/Licenced Drivers.

Essentially, there are Caretakers & Relief Managers & then there are Professional Property & Business Managers - we are regarded as the later!
