We are a retired couple whose home is in the UK but spend nearly half the year ( Dec-April) in Australia. We love animals but can’t have any of our own at the moment due to travelling and would love to share and care for someone else’s. We are fit, active, clean and tidy and keen gardeners. I grew up with dogs and David with cats and foster a friends two dogs when they want a break. We have no experience with chooks but are keen to learn. We have spent most of our UK winters (Australian summers) in Australia since our retirement, mostly in South Australia where we have family. Although we have seen many parts of Australia on various holidays we are keen to stay in one place for longer to get to know the community, its people and it’s culture. We are very fit and active. We belong to golf clubs both in the UK and in Australia. We enjoy walking and T’ai Chi. We both sing with Sing Australia and I sing with two choirs in the UK. We both enjoy folk, jazz and classical music. I also enjoy pastel painting and, when I’m lucky, I sell a few. I go to the gym regularly and also read and knit a lot. David enjoys cycling and walking and is a keen philatelist and numismatist. We can provide references, testimonials and/or supply names and contact details of people who will give references. I have had numerous police checks in the UK (every three years) due to my nursing, health visiting and child protection work but not one that is currently up to date. David was an accountant/auditor. We really want to see and experience more of Australia and plan to be in Australia from the beginning of December until the middle of April.
