About
Hello! My name is Jessica and my little family would love to mind your home and your beloved pets while you’re off exploring! Now, I'll try and paint a picture to help you decide whether we're the right people for that very important job!
I work for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Canberra; I (38) have been employed with DFAT for 15 years and hold a security clearance. My husband's name is Robert (41) and he works for BLOC Construction as a Project Manager. We share the most lovable daughter named Mila (3), who will likely fall in love with your fur babies and there’ll be tears when we tear her away…
We love to travel, explore new places and make lots of special memories. We enjoy the outdoors and immersing ourselves in nature at every given opportunity. We often hike through the mountains, find new beaches to explore and jump on plane when the opportunity presents! We get a lot out of exercise and gardening, and if I’m being honest, food has a similar effect on our family too! haha
We finally moved into our new build home in May this year, and have been busy making our space our own. We have put a lot of love into creating our home and are well aware of the value of a house and of the care ones’ home deserves. We will treat your house with respect – we are mindful that this is not just your house, but your home. We appreciate the importance of ones’ space and belongings, and you can rest assured we will care for your home as if it were our own.
We have extensive experience in minding homes, gardens and pets. We have even cared for a hobby-farm for a month! We have had the pleasure of minding a townhouse in Red Hill for two months, tending to two gorgeous cats; a hobby-farm in Hall, caring for chickens, cats and a sizeable yard; a large 3-bedroom home in Evatt, with cats, chickens and a significant garden; and a considerable sized 3-bedroom house in Jerrabomberra for two months, caring for a cat and two large dogs. (These housesits were arranged through the HouseCarers website). We housesat in Randwick for two weeks over the New Year break in 2018, caring for a beautiful kitty cat named Nelson – they appreciated our companionship so much they invited us back time and time again! We also cared for a kitty cat in Dee Why the weekend after.
And since then, we had our daughter in 2019 and then COVID happened, so not a whole lot of travel has been enjoyed. But we’re back! We cat sat beautiful Ruby over the New Year period for a week, and Ruby's mum has attached a reference too. We are looking forward to experiencing your community and all it has to offer.
We would like to address your needs and will anticipate questions you may have of us, to help you make an informed decision when choosing who will mind your home:
- We are in our late-30/early 40s and are clean, reliable and responsible.
- As I work for DFAT I am required to maintain a high level security clearance, so you can rest easy knowing your home and belongings are in safe and trusting hands.
- We are involved in the RSPCA foster program and have fostered nine litters during our time with the program.
- Your garden will be well looked after. We have experience in the upkeep of small and large gardens and we will ensure your plants are cared for.
- We are non-smokers who enjoy exercise, the outdoors and dining out.
If there is anything you would like me to expand on, please don’t hesitate to ask. I am free to chat over the phone whenever suits you (0424 696 452). Happy to provide references on request!
We hope to hear from you soon.
Good-luck with finding the perfect house-sitter!
Warm regards,
Jessica, Robert and Mila
