Greetings!

Thank you for considering me as your house sitter :) Here's a little bit about me:

House sitting/pet/plant and pool minding began for me through word of mouth via friends and family and I loved it so much that I decided to sign up to this site in 2016 and I've been house sitting consistently ever since.

I have also been working in the hotel/tourism industry for over 10 years. This all began in 2009 when I took up a position as Caretaker of a Guest House in Edinburgh, Scotland. I lived out my two year working-visa there and have continued working in boutique hotels in both Sydney and Melbourne since. It is the sharing of stories that I like most about this profession.

This sharing of stories also links directly to my passion for creative writing. In 2017 I graduated from Sydney University with a Master of Arts in Creative Writing and I continue to write every day.

Reading, writing, cooking, travelling, and pets provide me with the most joy in life. We've always had a dog in our family home so I'm more than comfortable playing with/walking/feeding your animal/s. Whilst I haven't grown up with cats I have befriended quite a few over the years and we get along very well. I think cats and I share a similar temperament :)

I'd love to meet with you and your pet/s for a coffee/chat before locking in any dates and I have references available for you upon request.

I also have a current National Police Check, Working With Children Check and NDIS Workers Clearance.

House sits of 7 days or more are preferred but I will do my best to accommodate shorter stays if they fit into my calendar.

References

Jemima looked after our two cats for 10 days in Oct 22. Upon first meeting, she had a lovely laid-back demeanour and quickly bonded with our extrovert Burmese cat. She gave us regular updates while we were away, and managed the cats and their idiosyncrasies with ease and humour. They seemed happy and relaxed when we returned and our place was spotless. I’d highly recommend Jemima, and we hope to have her flat/cat sit for us again in the future.

Jemima sat for us for 10 days in December 2020 and I can recommend her highly. She bonded immediately with our extremely active and nosy Cornish Rex cat who hopped straight on to her shoulders when she came to visit. Jemima sent us regular updates while we were away and erything was in great order when we returned. Both us and our cat look forward to Jemima house sitting again. Five stars!

I just can't rate Jemima highly enough - 5 stars doesn't cut it!! She is such a delight to deal with, always prompt, on time, clean, tidy and most importantly incredible with our three animals. Our dogs have an absolute ball with her - she takes them on long walks and swims. Sometimes we think they would prefer to live with her!!! Even our cat quite likes Jemima and that's saying something! Highly recommended, but hope she doesn't get too busy, as we want her to keep coming back!
