About
Since selling our family home in Sydney in 2016, we have been traveling in our little Postie Van as well as doing a number of house and farm sits. We have really enjoyed seeing different parts of the country, meeting new people and looking after a range of animals. A real benefit of house and farm sitting is being able to give the owners a sense of comfort and confidence that their animals and property will be well cared for so that they can really enjoy their time away. We make a lot of effort to get to know any animals we look after and maintain their normal routines. Getting to know each character of our house sit pets has been delightful and a very special treat for us. We also enjoy working in the garden and doing basic maintenance tasks around he house. We have been home owners ourselves all our adult life so appreciate the importance of looking after another person's home. We have done house sits in a range of settings - from inner city apartments and houses, semi-rural homes and large isolated farms. We have looked after a number of dogs and cats - both young and feisty as well as elderly and frail. Our biggest number of dogs at one place was eight! We have done farm sits in several locations which have involved looking after cattle, horses, pigs, chickens and dogs. We are based in Sydney, where we have family, so continue to return to Sydney after some of our house sits a few times a year.
An update October 2018. We have bought ourselves a home in Leura in The Blue Mountains and move in 7th December 2018. We plan to continue house sits but may not be so available as we have in the past couple of years.
