I sold my farm in South Africa with a heavy heart, in order to come to Australia to be close to my daughter, son-in-law and three grandsons. I arrived at the end of August 2017. I miss farm life and the house that I have rented here does not allow pets, which is awful! As I have no obligations as such, I am free to travel to house-sit or farm-sit. I have had dogs and cats all my adult life and miss the companionship dearly. My farm was 24 hectares in extent, which I farmed with one labourer, for 13 years; I bred cattle, sheep and pigs. I had chickens, geese and ducks. I also had an apricot orchard of 700 trees and over 250 rose bushes. I do not drink or smoke. My hobbies are quilting, bridge and classical music. I am a practising Anglican. Having lived alone on a farm, I am not nervous of a rural environment and I am good at dealing with emergencies - or finding someone to assist me. I can provide references.
