About me:
I am an experienced house and pet sitter that enjoys taking care of pets and seeing new places. I enjoy the opportunity and friendships that house sitting brings. I don’t have my own pets so I really enjoy spending time with the animals while house sitting. I am a trustworthy, responsible, clean and non-smoking Australian male (37). I have a lot of house and pet sitting experience. I am reliable, practical, and easy to get along with. Your pets and home will be extremely well looked after by a capable person. I am a serious house sitter, one that does what they say they will do.
I am currently completing my post graduate studies in Psychology. I have dedicated my career to helping people get through hard times and become the best version of themselves. I am off campus so I study from home and this allows for additional time with the pets and keeping an eye on the house. This is part of why I have decided to do house sitting. The other reason is that I really enjoy it! I enjoy the variety of living in new places and meeting new and interesting people such as you! House sitting provides an enjoyable and adventurous lifestyle for me.
I have a current national police security check. In my work I have gained security clearances at the highest level that have allowed me to work at government sites such as ports, airports, government offices and defence sites which you need to have a clean record to obtain. I hope this indicates to you my trustworthiness. I have my own car and am independent in my style of living.
Pets I have looked after:
I go above and beyond with pet care. I love all types of animals and have looked after almost everything you could find in a backyard. This includes mostly dogs, cats and budgies, but also parrots, stick-insects, lizards, snakes, horses, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, hermit crabs and even a tarantula! I do my best to not disrupt your pet’s routines so I feed them and walk them as close as possible to the same time that you do. I am happy to spend extra time with needy animals that get upset when their owners are away. I always make sure all pets eat enough each day. I also can administer medicines, worming tablets if need be. Any special dietary requirements are catered for and an extra walk or games no problem at all. In the case of an emergency, I will contact you and drive your pet immediately to your preferred vet.
I have looked after many rescue cats and understand they can sometimes need extra time and affection. From 2013-2015, I saved, reared and fostered 21 stray kittens at my house. They all were tamed, vaccinated, micro chipped, de-sexed and found happy homes!
Types of houses I have looked after:
I have experience looking after large multi storey homes with extensive gardens and pools, houses on acreage, normal size family homes and small apartments.
Extra things I can do:
If you like I am happy to send you email or text updates on the house and pets so that you know everything is ok and see how your furry friends are going.
Clean the pool if you have one.
Mow the lawn and water the gardens.
I will collect the mail every day and If you like I can forward you any important mail via email if you need me too.
Put out/bring in the garbage bins
Start car if needed to prevent battery going flat (please note I have my own car and would not drive yours).
I leave the house fully cleaned before you come back so that you arrive to a fresh tidy home. This includes the pool and gardens. I can also mow the lawn if you need it.
I can also pick up some groceries before you come home so you can take it easy when you arrive. Most people like to come home to fresh milk, bread and juice.
A quick note
I also prefer that we have a written agreement that outlines my duties with detailed instructions, vet contact, trusted person or family member contact (if you are overseas), authority to be in the house while your away (Id like it if the neighbours don’t think I am squatting in your house!) and any other things that may be needed to be carried out around the house.
