Hi Happy House Resident, my name is Ros. I am a 62 year old widow currently in transition from Bendigo and ?? Tasmania...(I think?? Your part of the world may be better still). I am able to be mobile as my daughter is now studying in Melbourne and we sadly lost our own Collie/Koolie cross at 14 years old just 2017. I have my 2-3acre Bendigo home up sale. I miss both our dog and our chooks very much... and my 25 yo son in Europe and daughter now in Melbourne. I love being fit and healthy through using my bicycle as a go anywhere machine, running in the bush, Chi Gung and gardening ... and of course eating healthy vegetables. I currently volunteer when I can with both FreewheelingFun (recycling bicycle program) and Bendigo Regional Food Alliance. I still do a few small landscape designs with a focus on food gardening.. (Livinglightlydesign.com.au). I dabble in crafts and music. I joined Happy House Sitters only June 2018 having house sat 5 months over 18months on Bruny Island Tasmania before eventually buying into the amazing landscape and people community down there. Just 5 acres with no house. I have secured 1 reference so far for you. I had a house where new residents had only arrived 6 weeks prior but had a preplanned excursion taking them away for 6 weeks... lots of gardening, two gorgeous dogs (2yo Koolie dog "Algie" and 12yo rescue corgie cross "Dottie") and tidying of emptied container contents!! Then I sat 2 1/2 weeks for a younger family with 2x sheep, 2x ponies, 2x pigs, about 14 chooks, and 2yo "Skipper" black kelpie cross. Thirdly an off grid passive solar house on 8 acres later returning to help with the young mum with her 7 week old pigeon pair human twins whilst dad had time to mourn the loss of his mum. Lastly a 2yo house and two Shitzu pups. This was an amazing house on the beach front but was for sale giving me yet a new challenge of keeping it absolutely pristine ready for inspection!! It SOLD!! Since joining Happy House sitters I have secured two new sits.. one at Barwon Heads and another in Clifton Hill. I prefer minimum of two weeks. Good luck with your search and holidays. Cheers Ros
