I'm Mel, I'm keen to housesit to explore different areas of Australia. I work as a nurse and am aiming to travel and work in various locations. I am a keen explorer of different areas and neighbourhoods pretty much everywhere. Hoping to housesit for a little to get a taste of the simple life away from the bit cities (originally from Melbourne), while I try and figure out what I want in life, and what better way to do that than explore our beautiful country! :) I have previous experience housesitting dogs and cats and grew up with a Labrador, who I loved dearly. I'm happy taking dogs for walks and following any instructions there might be for the pet, i.e. How many walks per day and dietary requirements. I've always dreamed about having a pet cow and would be open to learning about farm animal care etc. Although I have limited experience with this thus far. I have been housesitting in and around Melbourne continuously since August 2018 after a trip overseas, but had performed previous house/pet sitting jobs prior to this over the years. Very keen to take this on the road and learn how to look after more types of animals. I always strive to maintain the cleanliness of the house I'm housesitting and I am a non-smoker. Mel looked after our two dogs and house for 5 days and we cannot recommend her highly enough. Mel is a lovely, thoughtful person with a calm, warm presence that immediately put our dogs at ease.. She is organised, reliable, trustworthy and a good communicator. Mel was enthusiastic about taking time to help our somewhat highly-strung dogs feel comfortable; and to follow their usual routines while we were away. She sent us photos of the dogs to put our minds at rest. She let them sleep with her, which was very kind, because she knew that was a beloved part of their usual routine. They were very relaxed and happy when we returned. Mel also took great care of our house, leaving it immaculately clean. She offered to water plants and do other maintenance tasks. Melissa is a reliable and trustworthy person who will look after your home! She has house sat for me a number times and has always taken the care and attention that leaves me with total peace of mind. Including watering plants, using the house alarm, looking after our dog and being respectful of our belongings. She is also very responsive to requests and enquiries. Your home will be in good hands!
