Hi,
We are Steph and Jon, a couple who are both in our early 30s based in Melbourne.
Steph is from Brisbane and has spent the last 4 years living in London. She is a Social Worker and works in child and adolescent mental health. Steph loves travelling, baking, sports (hiking, yoga, netball tennis), reading, the beach, and all animals.
Jon is a Project Manager and has been working in Finance in London and here in Melbourne. He's originally from the Isle of Man and loves conservation, having worked on various projects around the globe e.g. whale shark and manta ray research in Mozambique, orangutan conservation in Borneo, and large jungle cat conservation in the Amazon, Jon also enjoys DIY, cooking, making sourdough bread, single malt whisky, hiking, rugby, and playing with his nephews.
Mid 2019 we decided, after 4 years in London, to move to Australia. Since arriving, we've completed four housesits of varying lengths, from 4 days to 3.5 weeks, looking after dogs, cats and even a couple of chickens! We originally started house-sitting when we arrived in Melbourne so that we could get a feel for different areas and begin to set up a permanent home base. Now that we're fully settled in Australia, we're still doing the occasional house sit to get our pet snuggle fix and to continue exploring new areas. Our general availability is weekends and holidays.
We are big animal lovers. We both have experience caring for our own pets: guinea pigs, fish, cats (Burmese and Russian Blue), and a Labrador. Steph's grandparent's owned a big farm in N.S.W where she spent most of her holidays as a child. This is where she fell in love with all creatures big and small, from collecting eggs and taking care of the chickens, helping birth calves, to learning to ride horses. While in London we had our own cat called "Moon" and were part of a great website called "Borrowmydoggy" where you borrow dogs in your area for walks (we regularly looked after a Portuguese water dog x poodle called "Boots", and a sausage dog called "Slinky"). We also look after our friends pets (dogs and cats) when they are away on holidays.
