My home is a high set queenslander on the Atherton Tableland about 2 hrs from Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef. Ravenshoe is the highest town in Queensland, so although it is in the tropics it has a very moderate climate. The tableland, withvits abundance of fresh water and volcanic soil is the foodbowl of the North and has many atractions. My sitters are welcome to leave my home for a couple of days to go adventuring if they wish.
Because the sit is long and duties are minimal I ask my sitters to contibute 50 dollars a week towards maintainance, rates and insurance. This by no means covers the cost but it helps.
Ravenshoe has a bowls club, golf club, drama club, writer's group, drama club, men's shed, art shed, music venue and free community wifi. Innot Hot Springs is closeby for those who like a hot soak.
