OUR HOUSE: My husband and I live with our retired greyhound in a single storey, four bedroom, two bathroom house on a level block, in a quiet street, less than 2 km from the beach.
The house has three living areas, a couple of TVs, WiFi, a well appointed kitchen, gas heating in living areas, portable electric oil heaters in the bedrooms and evaporative cooling & ceiling fans for warm weather. The main guest bedroom has a queen size bed in it and there's a single bed in the second guest bedroom.
There's a large undercover entertaining area outside the family room, which overlooks the pond and back garden area. The front and back gardens have lawn areas, some trees and garden beds, most of which are watered by the automatic reticulation system.
Our home is 2 km from any of three local shopping centres, 3 km from the train station and 200 mts from the nearest bus stop.
PARKS: Lots of great dog friendly parkland areas around us here, including the Carine Open Space, Galston Park, Whittington Ave Park, Robin Park, Braden Park and a local small park about 250mts from our house. Three local dog beaches are marked with yellow stars on the map photo below.
CAFES: There are lots of dog friendly cafes in our area and others too, along the coast as well as dotted through the local suburbs. Great coffees! See map screen shot below for star marking "Little Bay" Cafe. It has ocean views, is dog friendly & on the way to our closest dog beaches.
SHOPS: There are three larger shopping malls within 4-6 km from our house - Karrinyup, Whitfords and Warwick.
As well as that there are 3 IGA shopping centres within 2 kms of our house.
CINEMAS: these are adjacent to the Warwick and the Whitfords shopping centres.
HILLARYS BOAT HARBOUR & SORRENTO QUAY: This is another popular place to visit, with lots of tourist shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as AQWA.
Pets & farm animals
DOG: Our dog Prince is a, 8 year old retired racing greyhound, with an affectionate, gentle and calm nature. He doesn't bark or whine and will sleep for 5-6 hours during the day, once he's had his 15-20 minute morning walk. He needs this walk each morning, as it keeps him settled and in his usual routine. He loves his walks and walks well on the lead. He enjoys meeting people and other dogs. He doesn't pull you along on the lead or lunge at other animals, so is easy to control.
He needs to be fed twice a day and to have fresh water available in his bowl during the day.
The dog enjoys a 5-10 mins walk around the block at the end of the day, usually just before dinner, but it's not essential every day.
FISH: The pond has 9 goldfish which are used to being fed once a day.
House Tasks
OUR REQUIREMENTS:
- Keep the house and garden secure at all times.
- The letterbox will need checking and clearing each day.
- Rubbish collection is early every Monday morning, so bins are best put out on a Sunday night.
- Some pot plants which are undercover may need to be watered once during this house sit, unless the weather has been damp/humid.
- Lawns will not need mowing.
