The property we live in is located in rural Dural in a very quiet road not far from shops and restaurants and also local transport (bus). It's an old house built within an old unused nursery/farm but super cosy and with lots of character. A split system available in two of the rooms (including the living room) keeps the house warm in winter and cool in summer. We have a pretty small garden at the back with a shed and a small aviary with birds that need looking after. That means topping up with water and food every 2-3 days. Our elevated deck looks into our garden. BBQ available for hot days! The house also has a sunroom at the front which is great at anytime of the day because of the amount of light in it and the cosy couch we have. The house has 3 bedrooms; one looking at the backyard, one looking at the front of the house and the third one with a window looking into the sunroom. Gas kitchen with all appliances including dishwasher and a new oven. Water is heated by gas around the house. Tiny laundry attached to it with a big sink, a washing machine and a freezer. Undercover parking right outside the house with direct access to the front door ideal for rainy days and bring the shopping in. We have a family of cute guinea pigs living in their pen under the house where they are safe from weather and potential predators and also two separate males in their own cages. They need their guinea pig pellets and water containers topped up every couple of days and they really enjoy daily fresh food treats but not necessary. We give them carrot, cabbage, celery, fresh grass, herbs and a bit of fruit depending on availability,Outside, at the front of the house, we have 6 hives but our honeybees don't need looking after as they do their own thing. We also have a medium size veggie patch at the front with an automated watering system set on a timer so doesn't need looking after. However, a few plants in pots at the front will require manual watering every 2 to 3 days, specially in hot weather. We would like our sitter to look after our pets and plants and watch our house for us during the 3 weeks we are away. Flying out on the 7th April. Landing and back home on the 1st of May so sitter could move in on the 7th or 8th of April and sitter would have to be leaving by the 1st of May (29th or 30th April is fine with us). A couple of days either way is fine with us as pets can do without feeding for a day or two.
Pets & farm animals
Guinea Pigs are easy, They need topping up with water and food every couple of days and daily treats are an option they really enjoy but it's not necessary. A family of girls and their piglets live together in a big pen and two males live by themselves in separate cages so they don't fight. Two other males are happy to roam free in the garden eating grass and treats I put down on the ground. Our birds are all aviary birds. We have canaries, finches, quails and budgies all living together in harmony. They need their food and water topped up every couple of days and fresh treats are also an option from time to time.
House Tasks
Please collect any mail that comes through and keep an eye on the watering system (front garden and veggie patch) to make sure it's working and not leaking. Lawn will be done before we leave and we assume it wouldn't need doing in the 3 week period we are away.
