House sittingHello everyone,We live on a 3 acre property in a small rural village (34people, 1 pub, 6 tennis courts and one telstra phone box) called Coolatai. Our property has acted as a community venue of types for several years now and thus it has been carved and built out of all sorts of recycled reclaimed materials. It is quite charming. There is an outdoor kitchen, stage, classroom, toilet/shower/bath and the remains of an opshop in our horse stable.We have 2 llamas, 3 sheep, and 18 chickens, 1 dog and 2 cats. They all free range and are really minimal effort. Food and water and chicks away in the evenings. We are also surrounded by beautiful native birds of every description. Coolatai is unique because it sits in the centre of 5 different bio-regions - meaning we have a very astounding amount of life around usThe universe above our head is remarkable and the pub near by offers milk, a romantic (lol) dinner out, and a cold drink if required. Our nearest town for food and fuel is Warialda (40ks) and Inverell & Moree (about 100ks an hour and a bit away). The surrounding area is beautiful - and i will leave you a map to some stunning perfect waterholes near by us. The house is comfortable. Aircon/open fire - bedrooms - there are a 1000films to view but no tv options. Lots of books. i am an artist so the house is eclectic and full of my paintings - its a great place to be inspired to paint write sing think. We have a lovely outside firepit and meditation stage. The sit would suit carvaners wanting to rest and recharge for a few weeks and do so laundry. Or an individual completing studies or masters degree and wanting a quite few weeks out to get some work done. Or just a couple interested in exploring the area.If you are interested in a rural setting to explore a dynamic outback area (lightning ridge is 4 hours from here and an amazing place to visit for a night) in a really unique space then this could be the job for you.Happy to send pics if requested. youll be charmed,big lovkelps-its very dry here at the moment so the lovely lush green of the pics is a little dustier than usual :)
Pets & farm animals
Simply locking them up at night and letting them out in the morning. Feeding and water. Its fun sitting with them all in the afternoons. Quite a Dr Doolittles Farm. Our dog will need walking and our cats some lovin' but everything else is just cute and easy.
House Tasks
Just care-taking the animals and watering the gardens. House sitters are welcome to play around in the garden if inspired as they are looking a little beatup from summer sun.
