We're looking for a non-smoking single person or couple to live in our home and care for our ageing dog - a 16 year-old cavoodle (cavalier king charles/poodle), and water some pots and a small vegetable garden - the fruit and vegetables can be picked and enjoyed while you're here.
We would prefer no pets of your own please.

Our dog is quiet and friendly. As she is ageing, she sleeps most of the day (and night), only manages very small walks on a lead, over the road to sniff along the shore, or to say hello to the neighbours. She has a doggie door which she uses herself to access the fenced back yard. She has two meals a day, and will sleep in the bathroom downstairs with the door shut of a night. Because of the doggie door, she is able to be left on her own for several hours during the day.

We live in a small seaside hamlet on the land-side of Bribie Island, north of Brisbane.
Our home overlooks the water, with decks to take in the views of Pumicestone Passage and across to the island. The Passage is tidal, with mudflats and a huge variety of seabirds, including sea eagles, spoonbills, migratory wimbrels and many many others. Dolphins, dugongs, and turtles inhabit these waters, and the area is popular for people who enjoy fishing.

Our village is peaceful, with two small stores (one includes a post office and news papers), and both sell take-out food. There are no through roads to other places, so traffic is quiet, and the neighbours are friendly. There is a boat ramp just down the street. The Sports Club has a bar, and a variety of hot meals are available on Friday and Saturday nights.

The closest major town, Caboolture, is 20 mins away, and has every facility expected in a town of this size (including shopping centres, banks, hospital, doctors, supermarkets, cinemas, art gallery, library).

The weather in this part of Queensland in September and early October, is pleasant - warm with the occasional hotter day, with little rain until November or later.

We can provide a downstairs apartment (5 stairs up from entry to apartment) with bedroom, bathroom, family room and kitchenette (small frig, microwave, electric jug, sink), and a small deck to enjoy the view. Also includes a flat-screen TV, and reverse cycle air-conditioning. The upstairs kitchen, with gas stove and electric oven, can be used as needed. Also washing machine and clothes line. Guest wifi is available.

A car is essential to access the area. There is space in the large driveway for a boat or caravan.

Places to visit nearby:
Brisbane - 1 hr by car or train (station and parking at nearby Caboolture, saves taking a car into the city)
Bribie Island - 40 mins
Caloundra and Maroochydore - 30 to 45 mins
Noosa - 1 hr. Nice beaches and shopping
The hinterlands - Woodford, Mt Mee, Melany, etc. Lovely drives.
Australia Zoo - 40 mins.
