**READVERTISED due change in dates and circumstances**

We are looking for a home-sitter and animal carer couple to look after our senior cat, Harry, and our lovely acreage property for approx 3 months commencing last week of August 2019. Harry is 18 and recently lost his 21 year old companion, Pippa, so needs lots of company, love and attention.

The MOST important thing for this house-sit is that you are a cat and animal lover, and have patience with an older animal who need love and close attention,

The bonus is you will be living in a quiet bush retreat very close to Brisbane city. Our house is large and comfortable and situated on 5 acres in Bunya which is approximately 15 km from Brisbane CBD and just a few minutes drive from the charming village of Samford, and 8-9 min drive to the Ferny Grove Train Station. Brisbane Airport is 30 Minutes drive.

You will need your own transport.

Our house and property are smoke free.

Our house is 'off-grid'. Solar Electricity (means using less power during daytime, and appliances more at night time, as we are a net energy producer), Solar Hot Water, Rainwater storage for house use, Dam Water for garden use, Waste Water treated and stored on-site (BioCycle), Telephone and Internet is via 4G. We have good Wifi connection speed allowing NetFlix etc. Our Internet is limited to 160GB per month, which is easily enough for most people.

We have a very large irrigated organic vegetable garden and other garden areas which are also under automatic irrigation, but may need some attention whilst you are here. Ability to check pumps, tank levels, irrigation lines etc.

We also have a small worm farm which needs feeding of vegetable scraps and collection of liquid castings for the vegetable garden.

We have approx 1 acre of lawn, and you will need to be confident with a ride-on mower, as well as brush cutter.

Preferably we would like to find a fit retired couple or a couple/single who work from home (we have WiFi).

Harry is only allowed outside during daylight hours under supervision when someone is home hence our preference for a people who would be staying around the house. We have foxes and occasionally wild dogs in the area, so supervision is neccessary.

You will need your own vehicle. Train station is approx 8- 9 minutes drive. Samford Village is 5 min drive and has all facilities. There are also larger big name stores nearby in Albany Creek and Ferny Grove/Keperra.

We would ask to me meet with you if possible before we confirm the sit, to ensure that all parties are happy with the arrangement and the requirements of the property and responsibilities. This would probably be best in June sometime but we can arrange an alternative time if needed.

We have been using house sit arrangements at our home for five years and have always had great sitters, and the sitters have always loved being here.

Harry eats 3 small meals per day and is allowed out from around 7am to 5.30pm under supervision. We are very strict with this routine as there are dingoes, foxes and snakes in the area and also we like to look after our wildlife.

Our gardens are irrigated so there are only a few spots that may need a manual water. There are no other real tasks apart from day to day keeping the house clean and tidy, and also feeding the worm farm with vegetable scraps and tending to any issues that may arise.
