Our house 30km from Melbourne is at the start of the Yarra Valley in Wonga Park. The property, 13 acres, mostly bush, next to the state park has glimpses of mountains and is supremely private and quiet.
We are seeking a house sitter for only a week on this occasion to primarily look after our bird who flies free in the house. Other animals include chickens and fish.
Sitters must be comfortable chopping wood, using pumps, checking electric fences etc. The house is a modern eco earth covered house offering fantastic views, warmth and comfort. A double bed with ensuite is available for the week.
The hot water and heating is provided by a wood fire that keeps the house at 20-23 degrees but is a daily task the sitter must be comfortable with.
The driveway is reasonably steep of gravel but our 2WD's comfortably cope.
