Our second-floor apartment in Elsternwick is beautiful and bright, spacious, and comfortable, a gorgeous place to be in summer. The kitchen is very well equipped and the pantry well stocked. We've recently installed artificial grass on the balcony and there are lots of stools and a big long table for a cheeky afternoon drink. We have an amazing record collection, vintage sound system, and espresso machine, which makes for the most wonderful Saturday mornings chilling out on the couch. We have a large TV with Netflix. The bed is queen size and very comfy. In short, the apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay!
The location is close to Elsternwick station (trains, trams and buses), Glenhuntly Rd shops and restaurants, and Elsternwick Park. The cinema and some great bars are within 10 minutes' walk and make for a great night out. There is also an amazing selection of op shops within walking distance if that's your thing. And it's only a 2 km walk or bike ride to Elwood beach.
Can arrange access to the garage for one car if required, but there is generally unrestricted parking available on the street.
Most of the time the double-brick building regulates its temperature very well. But when we have hot weather for a week or more at a time, the bricks reach their heat capacity and it can get very hot inside the apartment. We have a great air-con system in the living room, and a standalone air-con unit in the bedroom which works well enough, but is quite noisy. My husband Elliot prefers cool and loud; I prefer quiet and hot - depends on your noise and heat tolerance as to whether this is a good option for you! If it came to it, you would be welcome to leave the air-con on in the lounge and use our pedestal fan to direct air down the hallway towards the bedroom. Alternatively, if the bedroom is simply too hot, the couch is long enough to sleep on, and we have some old couch cushions that are also long enough to set up as a second makeshift bed in the lounge room. So there are options if the heat gets uncomfortable!
Pets & farm animals
Our 2-year-old cat Salty is such a sweet boy, a real lover. He'll be a little shy at first but once he gets to know you the headbutts will come on hard and strong! He enjoys relaxing with his legs sprawled, purring and blissing out while getting pats, watching the world go by from the balcony, and just being with you. We recently had a sitter for the first time and she said he took to her very quickly.
House Tasks
All we need you to do is care for and love our little Salty, water the few indoor and outdoor plants a few times, and bring in any mail from the letter box.
