We are looking for a responsible and reliable person/s to look after our friendly and active 2 year old cattle dog while we're overseas.Ideally we would love it if you had experience with working dog breeds. If not that's fine too, as long as you're okay to take Billy on 2 walks per day (30-60 min each or longer, if you are up for it) would be ideal. Although sometimes just a quick play of fetch on the nearby oval will tire him out too. He's very social and good with other dogs and people and would love to explore the area with you. Plenty of walking tracks including a large off leash area are right at our doorstep. He also likes to travel in the car, if you ever want to explore other parts of Canberra.You will be staying in a warm (ducted gas heating), single level 4 bedroom house close to Watson oval and within 5 minutes walk to the local shops with a popular café and excellent restaurant. We have a small backyard that does not require any gardening work and very friendly neighbours. We will need to meet any prospective housesitters before the date, please.*Use of car negotiable.
Pets & farm animals
Billy - 2 year old red cattle dog. Required to be fed in the morning and late afternoon, walked twice a day (or one long walk) and be played with. He loves to be with his humans and is used to someone being home for most of the day. He is okay to be left alone during the day for a couple of hours and is well behaved at home, as long as he's had a good walk/play of fetch. His breakfast is defrosted raw meat - you will need to be comfortable opening up the packet and tipping it in his bowl. It will be your responsibility to defrost the frozen paddies in the fridge. Picking up poo in the yard and when on walks is also needed.
House Tasks
Collect mail and ensure house is always locked up when you are out. Putting bins out on Friday.
