Hi! We’re the Merritts and over the years have built our very own menagerie. We live in a lovely three bedroom weatherboard close to shops, public transport and gorgeous creek and wetlands not far from the city. We have three 4 year old cats - two boys and a girl all from the same litter and we have two dogs, one 12 month old Groodle and one 13 week old Moodle who will be around 6 months at the time we’re travelling. We’re looking to someone/couple who will love and care for them as much as us while we’re away. We need someone who is super confident in dog walking as our Groodle is 30kg and very strong. He has been trained to loose leash walk however doesn’t much like to use his manners around other dogs (super friendly and just wants to play) and the retriever in him will sometimes unexpectedly want to race after a leaf blowing in the wind. He is otherwise a phenomenally chilled guy and will love you to death. Out teeny weeny Moodle we are still discovering. He’s cheeky and fiesty, super easy to walk as he weighs nothing and is being taught manners by his super big brother. At this stage they are walked separately. Our three cats are a joy and super easy to deal with. Ideally we would love someone who knows about positive reinforcement dog training and would be willing to continue the dogs training while we’re away. This is not a deal breaker but if it’s something you’re interested in we’d be happy to show you so you can have a go while we’re gone. It’s not arduous and it’s just incorporated into your day to day.
