Clifton Hill is close to parks, cafes, and supermarkets. We are close to both train, buses and trams. I live in a lovely three bedroom townhouse, dedicated bedroom for the sitter, and there is a light filled studio / office, small courtyard garden, plus a veggie patch and carpark. Ducted heating, smart TV, wifi, well equipped kitchen and cosy lounge room.
I need a sitter for Abbey, my seven year old cocker spaniel . She is lovely except for severe separation anxiety. She will need a lot of reassurance. She loves off lead walks, cuddles and staying with some trusted friends when you are going out.
This is an ideal sit for someone who works from home and can be with Abbey most of the time, or a couple where one person can stay with her. She is great on the train and loves a car ride.

Pets & farm animals

Abbey is essentially a rescue dog and I have only had her 18 months. She is likely to be needy and wanting cuddles and attention. But she will settle in her bed – ‘bed’ followed by a treat every 5 min or so usually works. During the day I keep her bed under the mirror at the kitchen entrance, or if you use the studio upstairs she will sleep in a chair. She will try to come into the kitchen – ‘out’ and ‘bed’ work She will also settle up her end of the couch when you are watching TV if you say ‘away’ after a pat or a cuddle. I don’t encourage her to get on other furniture. She may ask by looking at you if she can get on the couch. ‘Up’ is the signal. Games Essentially I focus on a fun rewards based approach. See book on kitchen bench. She has a ball in her basket, likes the brown soft toys and loves chewing bones. Lots of different kinds of treats are with her food in the pantry. She can't be left alone because she panics. I have a group of friends you can call on to mind her if you go out. You need to be able to be with Abbey most of the time for this house sit. She is good at other people's houses, with children and in meetings!

House Tasks

Primarily mind Abbey and keep the house tidy, bring in any mail. No garden watering needed at this time of year. You cannot leave Abbey home alone.
