Large Modern House in North Eastern Lake Macquarie & 1 x Spoodle Dog & 2x Burmese Cats
I am heading overseas on either 28 or 29 August. and return home on 30 Sept. Some relatives from the UK, who were moving to Brisbane and wanted to have a holiday down in the Hunter area before settling in up there, were coming here to do the house sit/care for my pets me for the time I was away. But their circumstances have recently changed and they have now had to go back to the UK. Hence I find myself looking for new reliable house and pet sitters at short notice.
I have a Spoodle dog and two Burmese cats. The cats are pretty easy going, but Loulou is a former rescue dog and though she is a fantastic companion, she does have some trauma around abandonment from her previous two owners. She needs regular company and it would not be good for her to be left on her own all day every day while people go off to work for long hours.
Hence I am looking for people who are either retired/not working or working part-time and hence around home much more often or people who have the ability to work from home at least 1-3 days a week or more. As well Loulou needs to go on outings with you at least a fe times a week. Be that to a park, the dog beach , a walk, a cage, a visit to other places etc. etc.
I have a couple of people who are interested in doing the sit from another site, but they may not be able to meet these requirements, hence I am casting the net further afield here.
I have a large modern house in the north Lake Macquarie area and have one king bed large bedroom available. Maybe a second king bed room, depending on your circumstances. I am really wanting someone who can commit to staying the whole 4 weeks.
As well, I would prefer sitters who have done this before and who have references. I have used house sitters before and the first two were great. But last time (preCovid), I took a gamble on a new person to this other site only to discover when I was overseas that he had gone behind my back and gone away for 5 days in the middle of the sit, dumping my animals on neighbours. It was a very stressful time in the midst of my holiday and being overseas, I felt helpless. (I am not against a sitter having a night or two away if they tell
me beforehand so other arrangements can be made, but a longer period and to do it behind my back, was and is unacceptable). Hence people who can provide references from past sits will be much preferred time .
