My husband and I have recently renovated our beautiful little queenslander on our 5 acres last year. It has 3 large bedrooms all with queen or king sized beds in it, so the house can accommodate a family. It has 2.5 bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen which is full stocked for the most avid chef, and views to die for off the back deck.
We have a variety of animals that will need your love and care. We have 3 horses (one is a shetland), 2 Labradors who will convince you that they are staving all day, 4 chickens for you to obtain your daily eggs from, and 4 cats that are that fond of each other, but do love human interaction.
The property is fairly low maintenance as property goes. There are a few gardens, a veggie garden, and a lot of grass, that the horses mainly take care of. The dam at the back is the a favourite for our dogs to swim in.
There is about an hour of work a day to care for all these animals, but non of it is hard labour as we have a ride-on mower that we use to tow the trailer around to help keep the paddocks clean, and the rest is pretty straight forward.
We would love to hear from anyone who is comfortable and confident with horses and understand their unique needs. We have 2 horses and a shetland. The Shetland is lead-line trained, but doesn't get a lot of practise. She has a lot of personality and is super cuddly.
Our dogs just want pats all day and will lap up any attention or exercise you give them. The chickens get along with everyone, and are very self sufficient as they just roam the farm during the day and put themselves to bed at night. Our little silkies need help getting in and out of their hutch, but are super easy to catch. Our cats tolerate one another (sort of) but do like humans. We are housesitting this year for a friend their cat, so Im not sure if she will be picked up during your stay or not. All the cats are self-sufficient, and just like their cuddles and food.
We live in a very quiet and beautiful part of Queensland. We are close to 2 small towns that will cater for all your amenities, there are nearby hikes, waterholes for swimming and waterfalls to enjoy. The area has a lot to offer, which is why we moved here.
