We require an active, kind, dog-loving, responsible, non-smoking person or couple (preferably semi or fully retired or part-time worker) to look after our much loved fur-boy, and our house, while we are on holiday from May 08 to August 02, 2025. Our dog is a Bordoodle (Border Collie x miniature Poodle) who will be nearly 3 years old when the sit begins (& will turn 3 while we are away). He is a very active boy and so the sitter/s MUST be willing and able to give him quite a long walk every day - we walk him at least 4.5km every day, but often up to 9 or 10km, He also enjoys playing with his indoor toys with you. His exercise could also include going to the off-leash beach or dog park, a few times a week, but you will need to have your own car to be able to get there. He lives inside the house at all times with access to the outside via a puppy door. Our sitter/s would need to be someone who is willing not to go away overnight as our fur boy wouldn't cope well with being left overnight. Of course, going out for dinner etc is totally okay. He can be left alone during the day, but maximum duration of 5 - 6 hours, and not every day preferably. He's a very intelligent, affectionate boy and he is well trained to walk properly and obey basic commands. He completely understands the areas of the house he is not allowed to access when you are home & we have a 'barrier' system that is easily set up for when you are out, so that he still has a reasonable area to be in on his own. Our home is an easy-care, low-set, 4-bedroom, home situated on a small block in a quiet neighbourhood. We love our home and want someone who is willing to love it also to look after it for us. It is fully screened, with ceiling fans in all bedrooms, family and living areas. We are non-smokers and would insist that our sitter/s also do not smoke at all. Our sitter will need to mow the lawn while we are away, though this is a small job, usually only taking about 30 mins to do. We also require the outdoor pots and gardens and indoor plants to be watered at least every two days. , unless there is rain of course. Our sitter will have access to wireless internet and a few streaming services on television. Our home is located in Caloundra West, 6km from beautiful Bulcock Beach. There is a bus service which goes from about 800m away into the centre of Caloundra, but having your own car would be an advantage so that you can enjoy a number of the gorgeous beaches in the area and make some trips into the hinterland as well. We are approximately 1 hour 45 from Brisbane CBD, and 1 hour from Noosa, by car. There are two IGA stores, one quite large, within 3 km; Woolworths 5.5 km away; Coles, in a small shopping centre which has a chemist, KMart, newsagency, Coffee Club and a few specialty stores, 6km away. The main street of Caloundra has a multitude of shops and there are a lot of great cafes, coffee shops and restaurants within 15km radius. Sunshine Plaza Shopping Centre is approx 30 mins drive away. We will leave you with a comprehensive 'How To" folder for all the appliances etc and phone numbers for any services you may need (If we have used them already).
