About

Hello, I’m Alex, a non-smoking, childfree, long time Brisbane local. I started full time house/pet sitting as a mature aged student in 2016 and loved it from day one.

Meeting new people and getting to know, love, and care for all the pets turned out to be my best life. So, after study I made house sitting with pet care my ‘thing’ and never looked back.

Casual work that lets me pick my shifts and locations plus a digital WFH side gig are the secret sauce that makes lots of time for company during the day, evening and every night when I’m on a house sit.

Preference is for sits of a month or longer in suburbs 10 km +/- from Brisbane CBD. If you're not sure, please check the image gallery location map for your suburb.

WHY CHOOSE ME?
Because 100% no one knows your pets better than you. That’s why I follow their established rules and routines, whether that's inside sleeping under the doona, strictly outdoors or anything in between. Continuity is reassuring when we’re making new friends and building trust, so it’s ideal for them and me!

Being a practical person by nature, mowing, general garden care, watering, tending worm farms, cleaning pool filters etc. are easily integrated to the regular animal care routines of litter change, poo patrol, brushing, worming etc.

I am very much an animal person, having grown up in UK and NZ with horses, assorted dogs, lots and lots guinea pigs ;) birds, fish, one sweet and one semi feral cat, plus a couple of VERY brave chickens. Animals are all equal individuals and people in their own right to me!

PEACE OF MIND
It’s a privilege to be welcomed into a home, which means I'm careful, clean, and tidy, while being considerate of your possessions, privacy and neighbours.

Respect and trust are mutual which means removing or covering cameras monitoring your indoor spaces (excluding the garage). Cameras directed at external areas are fine to run/record as normal.

Alex stayed in our house for four weeks while we were overseas. We were initially very hesitant to leave someone with our somewhat anxious cat but after meeting with Alex we were quite sure we had found the right person. She is clearly very experienced with house-sitting and pet care. She made the process very easy, operating in a very self sufficient manner, kept our house in immaculate condition and sent regular messages/photos/videos to assure us all was well while we were away. We were actually staggered that she befriended our cat within a day or so! Most close friends or family don’t even come close, so this was no small achievement! We simply could’ve not found a better house-sitter, so thoroughly recommend Alex to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their property or pets.

Alex stayed at my townhouse and looked after my ragdoll cat Leo for four weeks while I was away overseas. After meeting her on two separate occasions in advance I was confident that she would be perfect for my needs. She kept in regular contact with photos and updates on Leo which was appreciated greatly. She is a very friendly and competent person who has vast experience housesitting. She also managed to liaise with my wi-fi provider to fix an outage and organised a new replacement modem. When I returned home my place was clean, neat and tidy and I had a very happy cat to greet me. I would highly recommend Alex.

Alex was just great! This was a long house sit. Alex totally went over & above in the looking after & loving of my cat, Keating. The feeling was mutual! He enjoyed the company, the many cuddles & the treats. My neighbours told me on my return that it was the most relaxed they had seen him in any of my trips away. It was so nice & such a relief to not have to worry about him whilst I was away. It was very clear that she truly cared. She was responsive & maintained regular contact, updating me about any issues or just sending a picture of the cat, letting me know how he was going. He was just loved, fed & kept so content & happy. In addition, any arising household issues were promptly well managed. The apartment was kept very clean & tidy & she even bought a few groceries for when I arrived home. I appreciated that a lot! The plants & courtyard were maintained to a very high standard (which was so great to see!). I was so happy with the result that I've booked her again. I would highly recommend Alex as a truly wonderful house sitter. Janette Young

Alex was great! She took very good care of our two dogs, cat and goldfish while we were away for a month. She sent us regular updates to let us know how they were going - which Miss 5 loved! She missed the pets incredibly, so to know they were being well looked after was nice. The house was kept lovely and clean and the pets were happy and healthy upon our return. Have already recommended Alex to our friends and would have no hesitation in using her again in the future.

We’ve had a fair few house sitters over the years but Alex was just perfect. She is great with our dogs, they bonded with her straight away and she kept us updated during the five weeks we were away. When we got back the house was immaculate and she even did some gardening. We will certainly try to book her again for future house sits and would recommend her anytime.
