Hello! Firstly, thank you trusting me with your precious family members. Our pets teach us compassion, remind us that we have something to be grateful for in life, keep us in the present, cheer us up when we are unwell and force us into fitness, and there's not a day that goes by that I think of all my beloved pets who are no longer here. :) All my life, we have had pets - ranging from cats, dogs, geese, ducks and cows as a child growing up in Wales and later Africa. (No giraffes though...or lions - the amount of hair they bring into the house is mortifying... although I did enjoy feeding a cheetah a few years ago!). I am the mother of 4 grown up decent and well-adjusted children who are now living their own lives, and we share care of our dog ( a mild gentle ridgeback-great dane who loves cats and is naturally submissive around dogs) and our narcissistic cat (whose sovereignty was never in question). I am at an age where I can roam the country and continue writing my books and fuss over your pets at the same time. I have had some local pet-sitting jobs, generally with lovely elderly travellers and I have informally taken care of others' companions from time to time over the decades. My heart is in the right place - I am also a former nurse, therapist, nanny, foster carer and cockatoo whisperer (yes, that was a wild one who took a liking to my calmness), I love animals of all kinds. Usually, I will be travelling to pet sit on my own, as a writer can write anywhere ... and depending on time-frames and location, my 17 year old daughter (who worked at a vet clinic and who is forever collecting stray dogs off the road to take to safety) might come with me. I am a non smoker, have regular police checks due to my work as an emergency foster carer - and I look forward to meeting you - and helping you enjoy your holidays with the knowledge your pets are having a nurturing time.
