Well, hello!

2025 Update: I now own a successful pet care business 'Dog-Dog' in Alexandria, Sydney...

As a visual artist, based in Sydney, I’ve been pet-loving and home sitting for four years. I also photograph, and paint pet portraits.

I've always been a dog (cat, bird and fish) owner, and now have an‘ extended’ family of pet-buddies in Sydney and surrounds.

My last 'best mate', a Border Collie, was also a restauranteur, frequent flyer, co-driver, administrative assistant (although not that good at typing), 'serial sniffer' on walkies, and a seriously happy beastie.

Since specialising in pet sitting, I've looked after puppies, and ‘more mature’ furries. Greyhounds, Golden Retrievers, Terriers, Foxies, Staffies, Border Colies, all the ‘Oodle breeds’, Dingoes, and multiple cross breeds. Rag-Dolls, Siamese, Bengals, Vanilla Points, Burmese, Tabbies and run-of-the-mill purr machines. Not to be forgotten, also horses, chooks, fishes, turtles and swearing corellas.

As I am my 'own business' I tend to work from my laptop for a reasonable percentage of the day (mundane stuff). Hence, I'm able to do this from your home, while enjoying the company of four-legged and winged sorts, and vice versa. I also do the more serious, and ‘less-mundane' duties of: letting your pets show me around the neighbourhood, undertaking serious human/animal chats, and doing all other jobs associated with loving furry, finned and winged beasties.

About me as a person: my interests include contemporary art, dining (in, or out), gardening, and the beach. It's also fair to say I'm a committed evening ABC/SBS watcher.

In terms of looking after your home, I consider myself a tidy and 'clean surface' person. Housework isn't an interesting job, and I go by the theory that if it can be done quickly, and maintained that way, all the better!

My requirements are simple: pets, (of course!) and bullet-proof instructions for techno objects I'm likely to use, particularly the telly! I have a written Agreement with owners, which outlines all the ‘nuts and bolts’ specifics, and nuances, of your furries’ and home. Oh, there is one thing I can’t do: large volumes of dust! Sorry, am allergic to the stuff...

Kelly looked after my dog Smudge for 4 days while I was away. She was really well prepared with an agreement and questions and we met up a couple of times before the stay so she knew exactly what we needed. She was great at keeping me updated with their activities. everyday so I was able to relax on my holiday without worrying about Smudge. She even managed to keep my high energy, high drive dog occupied and entertained for the whole time. I came home to a very happy well cared for dog and neat and tidy house. I'd recommend Kelly.

Kelly was amazing with my two pups. She provided ongoing updates and photos of the dogs throughout my time away and spoiled them with walks and outings all the time. I was so impressed that Kelly worked with one of my pups who can be difficult with other dogs and people, and got him socializing with others! It was amazing! Kelly also understood the individual needs of each dog and totally figured them out. It was clear that she adored the dogs as much as I do and treated them with love and care. On my return my home was spotless and perfectly ordered. Kelly provided receipts for any extra necessities that needed to be purchased and a thorough run down of the routines and adventures of my little ones. I cannot say enough about how great Kelly was with the housesitting. I had never done this before and was soon at ease with regular reports and pics showing how happy the pups were with Kelly. Kelly was also very flexible and understanding with the dates and responded promptly prior to and during the housesit. Unfortunately my dogs are very sad at seeing Kelly leave and are understandably upset they aren’t as spoiled anymore!

To whom it may concern, Kelly Milton - House Sitting Review 11/19 Kelly looked after our Enmore home of 2 dogs (Labrador & Kelpie X) and 3 cats for a month from mid-October to mid-November this year. This is the first time we have ever used Kelly and Happy House Sitters, and it was a total success. Kelly is absolutely fantastic and we couldn't be happier with how the whole sit went. Throughout the entire process, we found Kelly to be very friendly, organised and responsive. From the word go, our experiences with Kelly put us at ease about going away and leaving our much-loved animals with a house sitter (something we don't normally do). Kelly took the time to meet with us in advance and get to know the animals and learn about their unique characteristics before we left, and this really put our mind at ease. We all liked Kelly and felt really comfortable with her from the outset. During the time we were away, Kelly kept in regular contact and posted a steady flow of photos and news updates to let us know how everything was going. If there were any minor issues with the animals or in the household, Kelly dealt with things efficiently, with minimal fuss and things went exactly how we hoped they would - smooth and seamlessly. It was such a relief for us to enjoy our time away in the knowledge our animals were in safe hands. Overall, we found Kelly to be a genuine and friendly person with an obvious connection to animals. Our fuzzy family took to her straight away, and without doubt, enjoyed a holiday of their own whilst we were gone! It honestly felt like a friend was looking after our furry family and obvious from their behavior on our return that they were all really well looked after and enjoyed their time with Kelly. We came home to happy animals! Our home was extremely well looked after and our first experience with Kelly & Happy House Sitters was a complete success. We wholeheartedly recommend Kelly for any future house sits and look forward to having her back to sit with us again in the future, Kelly will always be welcome here. 10/10 - Highly recommended. Kelly recently looked after my house and pets for 2 weeks . She was very thoughtful .. keeping me up to date with their escapades and dealing with their foibles! The house was immaculate on return. The pets healthy and happy. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kelly and would love to have her back when next requiring help.

Thanks a million Kelly. You were perfect for us for a short time away and at the last minute too. Thanks also for being careful and caring with our moggie, she most definitely doesn't deserve the sweet attention. Myfy the cat will recover from being totally spoilt, in fact she most likely would like us to go away every week and get Kelly in. Fat chance, cat.
