My husband and I are an active semi-retired couple, Dieter still works part time as a self employed guitar teacher, I look after dogs in our home, and when required, London the cat in Melbourne.. Because we own our home, we are aware of the care that homes and gardens/lawns require. We enjoy gardening, we also love walking, swimming, reading, and I very much enjoy knitting. I have just completed a jacket for one of the dogs we take care of. Our commitment to you as home- and animal owners is to take care of your home and little family members exactly as we would our own, with respect and absolute care. Your dog will generally go everywhere that we do on foot where practicable, your animals will, apart from the rare dinner out, have our company a lot of the time, and we will do our very best to get to know, appreciate and lavish attention and affection on your pet. . We have had three rescue beagles over the years and three rescue cats. Sadly our four legged family members do not live as long as we would like and our "last" beagle, Maya, died last year., along with our Fluffy cat. . However, after a year I simply could not imagine the rest of our lives without a dog, so six months ago we rehomed Poppy, another beagle. She was a breeding bitch from a reputable breeder and she retired her at 5 years old, so we were so delighted to be able to adopt her. Wherever we go, Poppy goes, which would need to include any house sits. She is a friendly girl, as her breeder said, not a bad tempered bone in her body, and other dogs seem to be very relaxed with her.
We have a 6-year-old granddaughter in Melbourne, we are very keen to visit with her whenever we get the chance. This means that we will be only too happy to develop a relationship with you with a view to looking after your home and your animals. Please Note that our granddaughter lives in Brunswick, so we like house/pet sitting there, and also as a general rule, during school holiday times. Again, however, we are planning a year long stay in Melbourne late 2024/early 2025, so we will be available for dates further afield than Brunswick around Christmas and would love to look after your dog(s) provided you would also be happy with Poppy tagging along.
