About

Hi, my name is Ruth - I am a dual citizen (Australia & British) and I teach piano and flute two afternoons a week down south of Adelaide. I love pottery and walking - and I miss my dog Hamish so I love to borrow other people's pets! I am a non-smoker and rarely drink, as I have a strong focus on healthy living.

I enjoy living in a clean and tidy space, and I value the places I have been able to call home. I will treat your home and belongings with respect, just as I would like to be treated by others (universal law).

I understand very well that different pets have different needs, and I will maintain the daily routine of your pets as much as I can while I care for them, and am comfortable administering medications where necessary.

Walking in nature is one of my favourite things. I used to live in the Eco Village in Aldinga and now I love to explore living in different locations and exploring.

I love gardening and animals, and I like to spend my time meditating, doing yoga, reading, messing around on my acoustic guitar and cuddling animals. I have owned my own house both in the UK (twice) and here in Adelaide (once) and I've had many rentals. I have an abundance of good references and have been asked back to the same places multiple times. I have an Australian National Character Check which includes police check.

I would be more than happy to provide frequent updates on both plants and pets if you would be keen. You can travel in confidence knowing that your plants and house are in reliable, safe and capable hands.

Ruth recently looked after our home, 3 cats and very spoilt staffy whilst we had a 10 day holiday in Bali. It was my first time using a housesitter and I was very nervous, however Ruth was absolutely exceptional! She provided my with daily updates on my furry family, photos and videos, which allowed us to relax and enjoy our holiday. When we returned home it looked as though a professional had come through and cleaned my home! Ruth left my home in such a beautiful condition (way better than when we left it!) and also left us food for dinner together with fresh fruit for our return. I would highly recommend Ruth without any hesitation to anyone wanting to know that their home and pets are in reliable care when on holiday. Thank you Ruth! xx

Ruth cared for my Australian Shepherd and Home for 3 weeks recently. I came home to a very happy dog and exceptionally clean home. Ruth even made sure there was food in the fridge for me and left a lovely bunch of Roses to welcome me home. She also kept in touch while I was away, and provided me with pictures of Willow during this time. I would definitely recommend her to anyone wanting to be able to travel with peace of mind.

Ruth looked after our home and our two Golden Retrievers for twelve days in February 2025, and we were absolutely delighted with her! Ruth is such a lovely, kind person, and from our first meeting a week or so before we left, it was clear to us that we were leaving our home and much-loved girls in good hands. Ruth has a wonderful positive energy, and the girls were very comfortable with her from the outset. Upon our return, our home was spotless, and Ruth had gone above & beyond by sweeping outside, mopping the floors, providing clean bedding & towels, vacuumed the whole house, an empty dishwasher and even made sure we had a meal for the night we returned home! Just to top it off, Ruth also left a bunch of flowers, a card, and of course two well cared for dogs, who, I'm sure were thinking, 'oh you're back...' We would not hesitate to recommend Ruth, and we will certainly use her again.
