I live on the 5th floor in a 10 storey apartment building in Milton, which is considered an inner city area (less than a km to heart of Bris city). The area is lovely with trees and all the conveniences of cafes and parks nearby. In fact, Park Road is only one street over and has so many restaurants.

I have a one bedroom apartment which I rent. And I have a one year old Jack Russell called Ziggy. He is my loyal and loving companion and he's adorable. Ziggy is what has prompted me to seek a housesitter and what I really want is someone to love Ziggy, while I am away and live with him and take care of him.

He is vaccinated, has regular worm, flea and tick treatments and is toilet trained. He has a Healthy Pets Plus membership with Greencross Vets as well as Pet Insurance.

I'm considering going overseas for 2-3 months at the end of the year or beginning of next year (my daughter is taking my beautiful granddaughter to live in the US for 2 yrs) and I want to visit and keep the bond with my grandbaby whilst not abandoning my beautiful little guy, ziggy.

Ziggy is the most adorable Jack Russell. He is a home-body and loves nothing more than to sleep a lot of the day. Having said that, he is very well socialised and has about 20 doggy friends at the dog park, whom he loves to play with. The dog park is close by, but I always drive there.

Ziggy does need to burn up energy everyday. He does zoomies and is quite used to playing energetically by himself (and with me). I usually take him to the dog park for an hour or sometimes two each afternoon. I do leave him at home alone when I go out, sometimes for as long as 6 hours.

Ideally, what I thought would be a good idea is this:
- day care once a week for 4-6 months
- the odd overnight here and there
- then close to departure time, have 2 day cares a week
-then the house/petsitting while I'm away.

I thought that Ziggy might miss me less, if he is used to being with you regularly.

He is very attached to me. He follows me around all day and comes running if I call him (even at the dog park). I have been his whole world up till now. He sleeps with me (he's supposed to stay on his bedding on my bed but he usually finds his way over to press himself against my back or arm or whatever) ... he is a good sleeper and doesn't like to wake up in the morning. He very occasionally has to go wee during the night, but if he does, he just takes himself out to my balcony where his toileting is, then returns to bed and sleep, without any fuss.
