What to note upfront: Due to our cat’s past life as a rescue cat, she is anxious around unfamiliar men. For this reason, we’re looking for a female or male/female couple housesitter.

The place: Two bedroom apartment in Teneriffe. You'll have use of the guest bedroom and bathroom. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen, laundry, study nook, outdoor balcony, wi fi and aircon. The apartment is split over two levels, with the bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper level. A secure undercover carpark can also be made available if required.

The location: You'll love the location in the centre of Teneriffe - my apartment is walking distance to not one but two Woolworths, as well as multiple cafes and restaurants, Gasworks shopping centre, James Street dining and shopping precinct, multiple bus stops and a ferry terminal. The river boardwalk is only 400 metres away.

The job: Your job will be to keep company to Princess, a 7ish year old medium short hair former rescue cat. Princess enjoys the company of humans (at a safe distance), chin and cheek scratches, and monitoring the neighbourhood from her perch on the balcony. She dislikes the vacuum cleaner, closed doors and when the apartment intercom buzzes. She's a placid and well-behaved (but talkative) cat who doesn't bite or scratch unless provoked, and won't wake you up to demand food. Your job will really only consist of feeding her morning and night, cleaning her litter as required and occasionally throwing a ping pong ball for her to chase when she gets in a playful mood. Oh, and probably giving in to her many demands for pats.
