About
My family and I are going overseas for a wedding and are hoping to find a housesitter that can take care of our beautiful home along with our adorable and precious 4 year old Labradoodle Pluto. We have never left him for over 2 days so we are very reluctant to leave him for this long. We hope to find someone that can love him and keep him safe and happy while we are away. We live in a quiet but lively suburb called Augustine Heights. We live very close to the Orion Shopping Centre. There is a Woolworths just 5 mins from where we live, and 10 minute drive to the Springfield Central train station. Our neighbors are very friendly and amazing, they will definitely be there for you if you need anything. The area we live in has plenty of walkways that lead to parks. Overall you will find plenty of people strolling throughout the day. On an average day, Pluto will require two meals. One at breakfast and one in the afternoon. He is use to being around people throughout the day so he may follow you around and sleep next to you while you work. We do try take Pluto on a 30min- 1hr walk each day. On days it rains we just give him a bit of exercise by chasing him around the house or playing tug of war with his toys. He is an incredibly well trained and well mannered dog. We do have a nice secure back yard that we can leave Pluto out there if you wont be home for over 2 hours. As for the Garden, it just needs to be watered once a week so this is very low maintenance. we will have our guest bedroom set up for our lovely housesitter/housesitters where you will have a queen size bed, and an en-suite bathroom and walk in wardrobe. Feel free to use the main bathroom which has an additional bathtub if you wanted. Also you are most welcome to use the fans or the air conditioning as I'm sure it'll be very hot during Dec-Jan months. You are welcome to use all our amenities such as the tv, kitchen, oven, stove, airfryer, dishwasher and the fridge. Feel free to also use the washing machine. We unfortunately don't have a dryer as we hang our clothes up on washing lines or on clothes racks to dry in the hot aussie sun, but if you prefer using a dryer, there is a laundromat 3 mins away from where we live where you can dry your clothes there (we sometimes use this when its a rainy day). If you need space to work, we have plenty of different areas depending on what you prefer. We have an office set up in one room, we have a room with a dining table that I personally like doing my university assignments on, you can also sit on the kitchen island on our bar stools, If you prefer sitting outdoors, we also have an outdoor seating area with a table. Our bedrooms have study desks that you are very welcome to use as well. We hope to find "the right" person/people to take care of our space and precious doggo. If you are interested, I hope Pluto and I can meet you before finalizing everything. Thank you! - Rachael.
Pets & farm animals
We have just one dog named Pluto, who is an incredibly well trained dog. He is our precious 4 year old fur baby who we are very reluctant to leave for a 5weeks. He is very use to having at least one person home most times during the day. on rare occasions we will leave him for max up to 4 hours , but overall we hope to find someone that is able to work from home so Pluto feels as though he has a companion while we are away. Pluto has no health issues, he just requires two meals a day. one at breakfast and one for dinner around 4pm and the water bowl top ups through out the day depending on how much he's had. We give him a 30min-1hr walk each day. on days it rains, we just try chase him around the house, play fetch in the house, or play with his toys and give him mental exercises with his snuffle mat and treats, we also do that randomly when he wants a bit of attention too. He is potty trained and will stand near the sliding back door when he needs to potty or wee. Pluto does have a bad habit of eating socks, underwear or tissues that are lying around on the floor or bed so please make sure to leave your socks, underwear and used tissues somewhere he wont be able to get. Usually at night times he sleeps on the bed with one of us but occasionally on some nights he will sleep on the couch or his bed in the living room. He will follow you around as you do your daily tasks but he wont bother you, he will just lie down in a spot he has a clear vision of you and just watch you do you tasks until he falls asleep. Overall he is very easy to manage but I am happy to explain more if needed.
House Tasks
Our house is just a one story house in a suburb called Augustine Heights. all we ask is if you could please collect mail, take the wheelie bins out for bin day which is on every Thursday morning. (we normally put the bins out Wednesday night) and water our garden once a week. We have plants in our back yard and a few indoor plants too, but they are easy to look after as it just needs a water once a week or if looking very dry. We will make sure to have the grass all mowed before leaving so that you wont need to. if it gets high from a lot of rainfall, we can arrange someone to come mow the lawn so you wont have to. Overall I'm happy to explain anything further if needed.
