About

We are seeking a reliable, cat-loving house sitter to look after our two black domestic short-hair cats while we're in New Zealand for Christmas. Our cats are friendly but may take a few days to warm up, as they're a bit anxious. They’re relatively low-maintenance, needing dry food twice daily and wet food once. The kitty litter requires daily scooping and a full change once a week. Our townhouse, located at the quiet end of a set of townhouses, is next to local shops and across from a lovely park. It’s on the free shuttle bus route, and there’s a secure car parking space in the garage for your use.

Pets & farm animals

Meet Penny and Willow, our two young, somewhat friendly sisters who have a love-hate relationship. They’re both sleek black cats and can be tricky to tell apart—though Penny has a small white tuft on her chest and is a tad less fluffy! Penny, the “hungry one,” might serenade you with a meow or two when it’s meal time. She’s generally well-behaved and loves pats on her back and bum (head pats, though, are a no-go in her book!). Willow, the more laid-back sister, is a lap-loving cuddle bug. She’s not as food-focused, but don’t let Penny even think about sneaking her wet food, or you’ll see her feisty side!

House Tasks

Indoor Plants: Just a light watering once a week. Outdoor Plants: Typically, the rain takes care of these, but they’ll need a weekly watering if the weather's been dry. Bins: Put the bins out on Sunday night for collection. Cats: Cats & Litter: We have two kitty litter boxes (one upstairs, one downstairs) that need daily scooping and a full change once a week. Cat Routine: Penny and Willow are used to sleeping downstairs, and there’s a door to keep them there. If you let them upstairs, they’ll likely be little night-time troublemakers, so it's best to leave the door closed. They know the routine well and rarely scratch at the door—if they do, they’re safe to ignore! Outdoor Time: The cats are allowed outside on the balcony but only with supervision (just being downstairs with them is fine). Please don’t let them out at night or if you’re not home.
