About
I have a lovely house in the rainforest on Tamborine Mountain (about 25 minutes drive to the beach - Gold Coast and one hour to Brisbane CBD). My house is in a quiet cul-de-sac, very cozy, comfortable, easy to clean, with all needed amenities. Safe carport at the front-door. My car will be at the airport.
I have one adorable and easy to please older cat, Prinses (19 years of age), whom I treat as my child, and therefore would only consider a person/s who loves animals/pets; especially cats.
My house has a big veranda facing into the rainforest, with lots of wild- and bird life, i.e. a variety of parrots that come for a seed feed every morning and kookaburras and possums for their feeds at night. Many walking trails, restaurants and things to do on the Mountain. An amazing place to rest and become part of nature, but also to have fun activities on the mountain and close by.
I do not put my cat in a cattery / kennel, because she loves her home and will most likely be very unhappy and confused not being in her own familiar surroundings. I will appreciate a person (or 2 people max) to look after my home and my cat with love and care when I am on holidays from Wednesday morning 23 April 2025 returning home Tuesday afternoon 29 April 2025 - thus 6 days/nights.
Pets & farm animals
My cat Prinses lives in the house (day and night) and use the big back veranda during the day. Thus she does not go down to the garden (we have a tick problem on the mountain during summer that can be fatal for animals). I use a big litter tray that gets cleaned 2 - 3 times every day with a scoop. The trays get cleaned and filled with fresh 'clumping sand' once a week. Thus for 6 days only scooping and adding sand will be sufficient. Furthermore her bowls of water and biscuits/pellets have to be cleaned and filled up every second day and she gets special soft food morning and late afternoon (all will be stocked up in the laundry - in the cat area). Prinses is groomed and treated monthly for ticks/fleas/ worms. She doesn't like to be picked up, but loves a rub and pat and will sleep on the couch or bed close to you. I rescued her from breeders 12 years ago, and unfortunately she was handled in a rough way. She has a beautiful soft and unique personality and are only a joy to be around. She is a quite a talker :-)
House Tasks
Furthermore the house should be kept clean. It will be handed over in a clean and neat state and I expect to get it back in this condition. Mail can be collected from the street mailbox and kept in a safe place till I return home. There are pots with herbs on the water tank / gazebo area and in the front garden. Also many fruit trees. The herbs can be used for salads and cooking. And please pick fruit if any on the trees. The tasks will be minimum for the house sitter/s and therefore there will be lots of time to explore Tamborine Mountain and surrounding areas. Most important is that Prinses is well looked after and receive a lot of attention and love. x
