About
We are travelling overseas and need a responsible house sitter to look after our cats and guinea pigs as well as the occasional watering of plants. Ideally, someone who works from home sometimes.
Three cats are indoor/outdoor. They are all friendly but shy at first. They get fed wet food twice a day and have a constant supply of biscuits. Once they get used to you they like human company. They have a water dish that requires rinsing and refilling every few days. We give the wet food dishes a basic clean daily before topping up. These three prefer to toilet outside, very rarely will they use their litter tray.
One cat is anxious. He is currently living in one of the bathrooms due to stress urinating around the house (to retrain him to only use litter boxes). His litter trays need checking daily as well as feeding wet food twice a day. He also has a constant supply of biscuits. He may get moved into one of the bedrooms before we go so he has more space. He does love people, just not young children and we have two, so it is important someone can give him a bit of attention each day. He loves snuggling up next to a person once he feels safe.
The guinea pigs live outside. Their care requires daily (or at least every second day) moving their pen to a fresh spot of grass, checking they have water and feeding green vegetables daily. They have a little house they sleep in, which every three/four days requires emptying into the green bin and fresh paper/hay needs to be added to it.
The bins will need putting out on a Sunday night and back on a Monday.
We do have a camera in the kitchen to watch our animals/added security which we would turn off and some cameras outside.
We live in a house within 5 min walk to the bus stop, or 20 min to the light rail to the city. if using public transport, it is easier to get the bus then light rail. The house has a well equiped kitchen with a heater in there, a small sitting room, an upstairs living room with a TV with some streaming services/xbox/playstation and a study with a wall monitor you'd be welcome to use. Any food/tea/coffee left over in our pantry you'd be welcome to use, too.
The last trip we placed Woolies orders when the guinea pig greens/litter/cat food was running low.
