About
MARCH - APRIL 2026 - MELBOURNE APARTMENT:
I am looking for someone to dog sit my senior German Shepherd in exchange for free accommodation in Brunswick East. My dog Pocky is a very gentle, 11 year-old rescue German Shepherd. Due to his history of being mistreated before I adopted him, he manages PTSD and anxiety with medication. This is very effective and for 99% of the time Pocky is extremely chill and relaxed, up for a walk or play in the park, or just happy to lounge at home on the couch or his bed. Despite his age, he loves a good walk and sniffs everything.
The most important thing for Pocky is that he is not left home alone for more than 6 hrs as this can make him quite distressed and upset.
Please note: Pocky has NO aggressive behaviours whatsoever and just becomes timid and scared when anxious. He also doesn't have any teeth so there is no risk of bites.
My apartment: I have a well-sized 1-bedroom apartment on Nicholson Street in Brunswick East that will be available for 3 weeks. It's in an excellent location within walking distance to all amenities and public transport, and boasts the following features:
- 5 minute walk to East Brunswick Village, including FOMO Cinemas, Coles Supermarket, Bridge Road Brewery, restaurants, bars, liquor shops, bakeries, grocers, pharmacy, gyms and more!
- 2 minute walk to tram stop for #96 tram which goes all the way to St Kilda via Carlton, Fitzroy, Melbourne Museum and the CBD.
- 2 minute walk to Merri Creek including beautiful nature trails which you can walk or ride to Coburg, Preston and beyond.
- 5 min walk to the beautiful Ceres community garden.
- Dozens of parks within a small radius.
- 20 minute walk (or 5-minute bus) to High Street in Northcote/Thornbury (Time Out's World's Coolest Street of 2024).
- 10 minute walk to Lygon Street which is packed full of bars, pubs, restaurants and more.
- 20 minute walk to Sydney Road which is the hub of Brunswick and has more cuisines than you'll know what to do with!
- This area (Brunswick/Northcote/Thornbury/Fitzroy) also features stacks of live music, art galleries and other great experiences.
The secure apartment is on the ground floor, and is filled with natural light. It has two separate outdoor areas, air-conditioning and large TV in both the living room (65") and bedroom (43"), modern kitchen with dishwasher, internal laundry with washing machine and dryer, and separate study area.
I have no doubt that you will love your time staying at my apartment and will enjoy your time with the sweetest floof wolf in Melbourne: Pocky :)
Pets & farm animals
Pocky is a gentle, friendly, shy senior German Shepherd. He is medicated with anti-anxiety medication which is very effective. He often loves a good daily walk or two, but due to his age he sometimes may be extra lazy and not want to go out.
- Feed Pocky twice a day (including his 2 medication tablets)
- Walk Pocky (1-2 times a day)
- Spend time with Pocky at home
IMPORTANT: Pocky cannot be left at home alone for more than 6 hours or he will become upset and distressed.
House Tasks
